Grant number 1R01HD056950-01A2 was among the thousands of grants funded, receiving $1.2 million dollars. This grant studied how to improve the accuracy of how people responded to questions about their sexual history.

The study consisted of interviewing 200 people about their sex habits at $6,000 per interview. According to Recovery.gov, the grant created a grand total of 0.85 jobs. The number of jobs that were destroyed by this money being sucked out of the economy is unknown.

The other grant provided over $250,000 for “a study into erectile dysfunction involving overweight middle aged men.” Not even the shameless educrats at UCSF wanted to talk about it, but evidently the imaginary obesity crisis served as the justification.

According to the literally insane Keynesian ideology of our liberal rulers, it doesn’t matter what the government spends other people’s money on, just so long as the money is spent on a massive scale. If moonbattery can be an end in itself, why can’t waste?

Europe’s financial crisis lurched into a perilous new phase as dire predictions emerged of a collapse in Greece’s economy, with a run on its banks bringing an inevitable end to its membership of the euro. …

Raising tensions still further, Germany warned Greek voters that the wrong result in next month’s election will force their country out of the single currency.

Greece’s president warned, perhaps most alarmingly, that its banks risk running out of money, posing a “threat to our national existence”.

The run on Greek banks is already underway:

Political leaders in Athens were due to discuss an emergency government Wednesday to deal with a possible run on banks as it emerged Greeks withdrew almost $900 million in a single day, fearing their country could crash out of the euro currency by the end of the week.

The good news is that if Germany won’t carry Greece on its back, the USA will.

Now for the really bad news:

Even as Greece circles the drain with comparably irresponsible Portugal, Spain, and Italy following close behind, the Keynesian moonbats running our country are outspending all of them. Who is going to carry us on their backs after the inevitable collapse?

Police want your help finding four men who teamed up to beat a young U.S. Army soldier in a South Tampa street. …

The attack came when he was walking home and using Iowa St. to get from Westshore to Dale Mabry. At the intersection of Iowa and Renellie Dr., the man came into the view of a neighbor’s motion-activated security camera.

A group of three young men is seen walking ahead of the soldier. Police say one of the men in the group doubled back and asked to soldier to borrow a dollar. When the soldier reached for his wallet, the first punch flew.

The first, tremendous sucker punch laid the victim onto the ground. The other two men joined in, punching and kicking the soldier.

A fourth man comes sprinting into view from the left edge of the video. The new attacker — a man the soldier said he had walked past earlier — joined in the beating. …

Police say they haven’t gotten many useful details about the suspects from the video.

The victim was not able to tell police much more: they’re all in their late teens to early 20′s. Two were black men with an average build, police said. One attacker was possibly Hispanic, also with an average build. The fourth man was also black, but with a heavier build.

Fortunately the victim is expected to make a full recovery. Others who have served our country aren’t so lucky.

A medical report compiled by the family physician of Trayvon Martin shooter George Zimmerman and obtained exclusively by ABC News found that Zimmerman was diagnosed with a “closed fracture” of his nose, a pair of black eyes, two lacerations to the back of his head and a minor back injury the day after he fatally shot Martin during an alleged altercation.

Zimmerman faces a second degree murder charge for the Feb. 26 shooting that left the unarmed 17-year-old high school junior dead. Zimmerman has claimed self defense in what he described as a life and death struggle that Martin initiated by accosting him, punching him in the face, then repeatedly bashing his head into the pavement.

As for darling little Trayvon,

WFTV has confirmed that autopsy results show 17-year-old Trayvon Martin had injuries to his knuckles when he died.

The information could support George Zimmerman’s claim that Martin beat him up before Zimmerman shot and killed him.

Unless they can reconvene the O.J. jury, this is an open and shut case of self defense.

But moonbats shouldn’t worry; so long as the likes of Barack Hussein Obama and Eric Holder are calling the shots in Washington, social justice will be served. The FBI has been sent to investigate Zimmerman for a “hate crime,” upping the ante to a possible death penalty for daring to defend himself from someone who looks like Obama’s nonexistent son.

Scary as the Trayvon Martin types turning our streets into jungles may be, the racist ideologues running the federal government are scarier.
