Why exactly does Obama want to raise the debt limit $2.7 trillion and not some other outrageously unmanageable sum? Because that on top of the mountains of money the federal government constantly bleeds from us and the $14.294 trillion current debt ceiling is all he plans on burning through before the election next year:
After the election, assuming he wins, debt ceilings won’t matter anymore. America as we’ve always known it will be finished.

Black Americans who voted their skin color in the catastrophic election of 2008 have had cause to regret it. Those satisfied to subsist by sucking on the grotesquely pendulous mammalian protuberance of Big Government will do okay for now. But those who want more for themselves and their families are getting hammered by Hope & Change:
The unemployment situation across America is bad, no doubt. But for African-Americans in some cities, this is not the great recession. It’s the Great Depression.
According to an analysis by the Economic Policy Institute, in Charlotte, N.C., the unemployment rate for African-Americans is 19.2 percent. If you add in people who have given up looking for jobs, that number exceeds 20 percent, which, according to economists Algernon Austin and William Darity, has effectively mired blacks in a depression.
Hard work doesn’t seem to be a path forward for blacks these days.
Vanessa Parker … was an administrative assistant at IBM in Charlotte. She went to night school to better herself, graduating with a bachelor’s degree in finance. Parker and her husband saved up enough money to move from a bad neighborhood to a quiet, middle-class street. But instead of moving up in the company, IBM moved out. Now she works at a big-box store for minimum wage.
“It’s very frustrating and it makes you wonder why are you doing it,” she told me. “Because it seems like the more that you try to get ahead, seems like you’re falling back.”
The government’s hostility toward those who provide employment could start you thinking that someone doesn’t want blacks climbing out of the ghetto, where they can be counted on to vote Democrat in exchange for handouts of other people’s money.
According to the National Urban League, virtually all of the impressive economic gains achieved by blacks over the past 30 years have been wiped out by the current recession/depression/“recovery”. As Patrick Graham of the Urban League of Central Carolina observes,
“It takes time to build anything. But it doesn’t take very long to destroy it.”
What our current rulers are destroying by suffocating the economy with excessive taxing and spending, monstrous debt, overbearing regulations, and general malignant intrusiveness will take generations to rebuild, if it ever can be.

If only we could get Comrade Obama to swallow a dose of his own rhetoric. Here‘s what he had to say when Bush wanted to raise the debt ceiling in 2006:
“The fact that we are here today to debate raising America’s debt limit is a sign of leadership failure. It is a sign that the U.S. Government can’t pay its own bills. It is a sign that we now depend on ongoing financial assistance from foreign countries to finance our Government’s reckless fiscal policies. … Increasing America’s debt weakens us domestically and internationally. Leadership means that ‘the buck stops here.’ Instead, Washington is shifting the burden of bad choices today onto the backs of our children and grandchildren. America has a debt problem and a failure of leadership. Americans deserve better.”
Because a Republican was in the White House at the time, not raising the debt ceiling didn’t mean civilization would collapse. That’s why every Democrat Senator voted against it.

Even as our rulers pretend that the debt ceiling must be raised to prevent Armageddon, they continue to shovel our money at projects like the investigation into the well-worn joke, “That’s what she said.” From Big Government:
The University of Washington recently received graduate research fellowship funding from the [taxpayer-funded National Science Foundation] in excess of $14 million. The Computing Research Association received an additional $14 million from the NSF.
Look what we’re getting for the money:
“That’s What She Said: Double Entendre Identification” summarizes research dedicated to the double entendre “that’s what she said”. The researches assigned values for “noun sexiness”, “adjective sexiness”, and “verb sexiness”. Once inserted into a mathematical equation, these values predict whether use of this double entendre would be appropriate.
How do these parasites justify wasting our money so brazenly?
A closer look at the Computing Innovations Fellows Project abstract provides insight into why these two researches received funding for this double entendre project. According to the abstract, “This project will forestall a permanent loss of research talent likely to occur if new PhDs are forced to seek employment outside of the field due to the sharp cuts brought about by the recent budget crisis.”
In other words, it’s make-work.
Notably, the worst villain in Atlas Shrugged is Robert Stadler, who sells out his principles to become head of the State Science Institute. Government science is a contradiction in terms. It functions as a jobs program for people who have the skills to find far more productive work in the free market.
According to our ruler, there is no problem with this sort of deliberate waste, because spending other people’s money is an end in itself.

The heart bleeds over the religious persecution suffered by Muslims in America. Take Naser Jason Abdo, for example:
The U.S. military serviceman arrested after raising concerns over another alleged plot to attack Fort Hood said he endured harassment, discrimination and intimidation due to his Muslim religious beliefs during basic training, he told FoxNews.com last year.
Pvt. Naser Jason Abdo, a 21-year-old AWOL soldier from Kentucky’s Fort Campbell who remains in police custody, said he was also the target of “resentment” from fellow soldiers due to his prayer schedule.
Despite having joined the military voluntarily, he sought conscientious objector status, asserting that his worship of a bloodthirsty warlord from the Dark Ages prevented him from fighting. Maybe he thought the point of the Army is the dental plan.
Fortunately for the global jihad, these beliefs don’t prevent him from plotting to murder American soldiers who are actually willing to fight for their country. Given Mohammad’s infamous taste for little girls, they don’t prevent him from indulging in kiddy porn either.
Unsurprisingly, Abdo has ties to peace organizations.

Maybe Norwegians should lighten up about the horrific tragedy that senselessly ended 76 innocent lives. According to vegan animal rights activist and faded pop star Morrissey (formerly of the unendurably pretentious band The Smiths), far worse things happen every day:
Before singing Meat is Murder, the 52-year-old British musician told the crowd [in Warsaw Sunday]: “We all live in a murderous world, as the events in Norway have shown, with 97 dead [sic].
“Though that is nothing compared to what happens in McDonald’s and Kentucky Fried s— every day.”
Morrisissy has also helped to counter the perception of animal rights activists as nasty lunatics by denouncing the Chinese as a “subspecies” for allegedly not being nice enough to our furry friends. He has equated deer hunting with killing children.
Despite the distress caused, a spokesperson confirmed the singer stands by his comments during the concert.
“Morrissey has decided not to comment any further as he believes his statement speaks for itself,” the spokeperson said.
That it does. It also speaks for the moral depravity the characterizes the animal rights movement.

Frightened of voter backlash, even some of his fellow Democrats are getting squeamish about Comrade Obama’s plans to attack our Constitutional right to bear arms through the malignant United Nations:
Twelve Democratic senators have joined 45 Republicans in a fast growing movement to halt progress on an Obama-backed United Nations effort that could bring international gun control into the United States and slap America’s gun owners with severe restrictions.
Montana Democratic Sen. Jon Tester’s office today provided Whispers with their letter, signed by 11 other Democrats, urging the president to press for significant changes in the treaty. Their major concern: that domestic manufacture, possession, and sales of firearms and ammo will be included, thereby giving an international authority the right to regulate arms sales already protected by the Second Amendment. They also said any move for an international gun registry would be a non-starter.
Always watch the other hand. As Obama and his collaborators distract us with the debt drama, who knows what they are up to behind the scenes? One thing is clear: their agenda will soon reach a point where it can no longer be inflicted on an armed populace. Inmates of socialist slave states do not bear arms. Like the Fast & Furious gunrunning scandal, this UN ploy offers only a glimpse at Obama’s larger surreptitious campaign against the Second Amendment.

It will take more than a warm summer to keep the global warming hoax from continuing to crumble. Charles Monnett, the government bureaucrat/scientist who helped make polar bears the mascot of the envirocommunist movement, now finds himself on leave, having been accused of scientific misconduct.
It’s unclear whether Monnett’s “integrity issues” have to do with a 2006 article in which he claimed that four dead polar bears drowned as a result of the imaginary global warming crisis. The Latin name for polar bear is Ursus maritimus or sea bear; they are highly buoyant and can swim for hundreds of miles. The dead bears contributed to the absurd propaganda campaign mounted by Al Gore.
Myron Ebell, of the Competitive Enterprise Institute, said the case reinforces the group’s position that people should be more skeptical about the work of climate change scientists.
Even if every scientist is objective, “what we’re being asked to do is turn our economy around and spend trillions and trillions of dollars on the basis of” climate change claims, he said.
With $zillions of government funding on the line, scientists involved in the hoax are anything but objective, as the Climategate scandal confirmed.
Monnett’s duties included managing $50 million worth of the studies Big Government conducts with our money to prove that economic freedom makes it be too hot out.
