The purpose of having the most powerful military in the world is so that second-rate countries can’t deprive us of the God-given rights enshrined in our Constitution, such as the right of self-defense — or can they?
You are only strong to the extent you are not turned against yourself. Who is going to prevent authoritarian collectivists from also-ran countries from telling us whether we can exercise our Second Amendment rights when our government is run by their allies and our enemies?
Fortunately, there is a simple three-step solution:
1. Vote anyone likely to collaborate with UN despots out of office.
2. Withdraw from the UN.
3. Bulldoze that hideous domino looming over Turtle Bay into the East River, preferably with the dictatorial moonbat bureauweenies still inside.

Don’t worry about America circling the drain. Moonbat munchkin Richard Dreyfuss has announced he will save the country by compelling the Koch brothers to sign the Preamble to the Constitution:
Time to call out the men in white coats with their size small butterfly nets.
At least even Dreyfuss knows better than to sit through most of the crap excreted by his Tinseltown colleagues.

What’s the difference between abortion and infanticide? Don’t feel bad if you don’t know the answer. Neither does Alberto Giubilini (Department of Philosophy of the University of Milan and the Centre for Human Bioethics, Monash University) or Francesca Minerva (Centre for Applied Philosophy and Public Ethics, University of Melbourne and Oxford Uehiro Centre for Practical Ethics, Oxford University). Here’s the abstract from their recent article “After-Birth Abortion: Why Should the Baby Live?” published in the Journal of Medical Ethics:
Abortion is largely accepted even for reasons that do not have anything to do with the fetus’ health. By showing that (1) both fetuses and newborns do not have the same moral status as actual persons, (2) the fact that both are potential persons is morally irrelevant and (3) adoption is not always in the best interest of actual people, the authors argue that what we call ‘after-birth abortion’ (killing a newborn) should be permissible in all the cases where abortion is, including cases where the newborn is not disabled.
Lest you think these people are outside of the academic mainstream, the editor of the journal has this to say in defense of publishing the article:
“The arguments presented, in fact, are largely not new and have been presented repeatedly in the academic literature and public fora by the most eminent philosophers and bioethicists in the world, including Peter Singer, Michael Tooley and John Harris in defence of infanticide, which the authors call after-birth abortion.”
Once we crossed the Rubicon by permitting the deliberate taking of a human life via abortion, we put statist bureaucrats and their pointy-headed ivory tower enablers in charge of determining who is allowed to live and who isn’t. In the long run, having already been born doesn’t make you safe from Roe v Wade, because in the long run, the only thing that keeps anyone safe is moral sanity.

In case the new $750,000 soccer field at Club Gitmo doesn’t do enough to encourage terrorists, our rulers are now reportedly offering to trade terrorists for kidnapped Americans, providing Islamists with both a get out of jail free card and a good reason to abduct Americans at every possible opportunity:
Al-Arabiya is reporting, in Arabic only so far, that the U.S. is talking with the Egyptian government to free the blind Sheikh and 49 other Egyptians currently imprisoned in the U.S. in exchange for the freedom of the 19 Americans the Egyptians are holding.
The blind Sheikh, Omar Abdel Rahman, is in prison for his role in masterminding the 1993 World Trade Center jihad terror bombing. If he is freed, it will be the apotheosis of Obama’s policy of appeasement toward the Islamic world.
Egypt was run by a US ally, until the Obama Regime helped dislodge Mubarak from power à la Jimmy Carter and the Shah of Iran.
By releasing Omar Abdel Rahman in exchange for hostages, the Obama Regime would officially cross the line between willful stupidity and treason.

Speaking at a hearing held by Pelosi to tout Pres. Obama’s mandate that virtually every health insurance plan cover the full cost of contraception and abortion-inducing products, Georgetown law student Sandra Fluke said that it’s too expensive to have sex in law school without mandated insurance coverage.
Apparently, four out of every ten co-eds are having so much sex that it’s hard to make ends meet if they have to pay for their own contraception, Fluke’s research shows.
“Forty percent of the female students at Georgetown Law reported to us that they struggled financially as a result of this policy (Georgetown student insurance not covering contraception), Fluke reported.
It costs a female student $3,000 to have protected sex over the course of her three-year stint in law school, according to her calculations.
Wow, that’s a lot of money. No wonder she wants to force other people to pay for it through their insurance premiums.
Condoms cost about $1 apiece at CVS, not that anyone needs to pay that much when Planned Parenthood and others give them away or sell them at a discount. Miss Flake must have a very active social life, especially considering that Georgetown is a Catholic university, where you would hope some vestigial remnants of morality still survive, even in the District of Columbia.

While the USA staggers toward bankruptcy, its backbone cracking under the strain of Obama’s massive debt, this is how Big Government sees fit to spend our money:
At a time of record deficits, a new soccer field for detainees at Camp 6 in Guantanamo Bay is just getting the finishing touches — at a cost of $750,000 to taxpayers. …
The new field has been specially constructed so that the detainees “have maximum access” — about 20 hours a day. Special passageways allow the detainees to pass into the new recreation yard without being escorted by the military.
Club Gitmo houses the worse of the worse Islamic terrorists. In any other time, they would have been lined up in front of a machine gun immediately following their rigorous interrogation. Instead they play soccer while awaiting their inevitable release, after which they will go right back to murdering innocent Americans.
Hopefully the soccer balls are properly inflated. Underinflated balls constitute “torture” according to the caterwauling we’ve heard regarding the supposed abuse of the pampered terrorists at Gitmo.

At least libs have enough perspective to poke a little fun at their own absurdity:
Giving women and girls access to contraceptives is good for them and it’s also good for the planet, activist Kavita Ramdas said at a discussion about “women’s health” and “climate adaptation” at the Woodrow Wilson International Center in Washington, D.C. on Monday.
“[E]mpowering women to time their pregnancies would reduce carbon emissions significantly,” said Ramdas…
Wait a second, this isn’t funny. She’s serious!
Here’s how contraceptives reduce harmless carbon emissions:
“The logic is simple: When women have the power to plan their families, populations grow more slowly, as do greenhouse gas emissions,” Ramdas wrote.
To make her logic even more simple, she means: the fewer human beings are allowed to live, the better.
Applying this simple logic, we might serve the sacred polar bears by killing every baby born on a Wednesday. If that doesn’t satisfy Al Gore, let’s kill everyone born on a weekday — or why not let the babies live, and kill those suspected of racism, homophobia, or global warming denial? Society would be better off without them anyway.
This approach to population management wouldn’t be far different from the one applied in Germany when radical progressives took control of the country. That happened under the environmentalist utopian Adolf Hitler, whose approach to government was heavily influenced by the world’s first fascist dictator, after whom the Woodrow Wilson International Center was named.
Ramdas went on to advocate the indoctrination of 14- to 16-year-olds with liberal sexual mores.
You cannot make sense of liberalism without reference to the concept of evil.

Once again we see that placing moonbattery ahead of common sense puts innocent lives on the line:
The Colorado State Patrol issued a citation to the school bus driver [David Shaw] who hit three teenage girls while they crossed the street.
The girls were hit Tuesday afternoon. Witnesses say they were in the crosswalk and they had the right of way.
By sheer luck, the girls will be okay.
Shaw was hired by Jefferson County Schools in October. He was convicted on a DUI in 1992 and he was going through alcohol rehabilitation treatment as recently 2009.
What the…?!?! How could even educrats be foolish enough to hire a guy with a long-term drinking problem to drive a school bus?
When asked whether Shaw would have been hired if the district had known he’d been in and out of addiction rehab treatment, a representative cited the Americans with Disabilities Act, which reads “‘It is illegal under state and federal disability laws to deny employment solely on the basis of a history of treatment for alcohol or substance abuse.”
ObamaCare may be the single most destructive piece of legislation ever inflicted by the federal government, but the moonbatty for the sake of being moonbatty Americans With Disabilities Act is still the most insane. Obviously it must be repealed at once before more people get hurt.

I wonder what the Founding Fathers would say about this?
The House of Representatives approved a bill on Monday that outlaws protests in instances where some government officials are nearby, whether or not you even know it.
The US House of Representatives voted 388-to-3 in favor of H.R. 347 late Monday, a bill which is being dubbed the Federal Restricted Buildings and Grounds Improvement Act of 2011. …
The new legislation allows prosecutors to charge anyone who enters a building without permission or with the intent to disrupt a government function with a federal offense if Secret Service is on the scene… Under the law, any building or grounds where the president is visiting — even temporarily — is covered, as is any building or grounds “restricted in conjunction with an event designated as a special event of national significance.”
It’s not just the president who would be spared from protesters, either.
Covered under the bill is any person protected by the Secret Service.
No doubt this was inspired by the increasingly alarming behavior of Occupy radicals, but it will be applied equally — if not more than equally — by liberal officials to the law-abiding Tea Party.
One of the three Reps principled enough to vote against this latest attack on our Constitutional liberties was Justin Amash (R-MI), who observes,
“The bill expands current law to make it a crime to enter or remain in an area where an official is visiting even if the person does not know it’s illegal to be in that area and has no reason to suspect it’s illegal.
“Some government officials may need extraordinary protection to ensure their safety. But criminalizing legitimate First Amendment activity — even if that activity is annoying to those government officials — violates our rights.”
Every time the federal government passes a law, those rights are diminished, and our soft tyranny takes another step toward becoming a hard one.

We’ll soon know if Tombstone, Arizona — site of the famous gunfight at the O.K. Corral — really is the “Town Too Tough to Die,” because the federal government is attempting to snuff it out of existence:
[T]he U.S. Forest Service is refusing to allow Tombstone to repair its mountain spring water lines after forest fires, floods and torrential mudslides destroyed them in the Monument Fire of 2011. Not content with allowing forest fires to burn down some of the most beautiful land in Arizona, the Forest Service is willing to risk the lives and properties of Tombstone residents and tourists due to the loss of adequate fire suppression capabilities and safe drinking water.
Between May and July 2011, the Monument Fire engulfed a large part of the eastern portion of the Huachuca Mountains. Record-breaking monsoon rains followed. With no vegetation to absorb the runoff, huge mudslides forced boulders to tumble down the mountain sides, crushing Tombstone’s mountain spring waterlines, destroying reservoirs and shutting off Tombstone’s main source of water. In some areas, Tombstone’s pipeline is under 12 feet of mud, rocks and other debris; while in other places, it is hanging in mid-air due to the ground being washed out from under it. In response, federal bureaucrats are refusing to allow Tombstone to unearth its springs and restore its waterlines unless they jump through a lengthy permitting process that will require the city to use horses and hand tools to remove boulders the size of Volkswagens.
Tombstone is located in the Sonoran Desert. Cutting off its water is like cutting off a diver’s air hose.
Why would bureauthugs in faraway Washington deliberately kill an iconic American town? Because Tombstone is devoted to keeping history alive. It represents the rugged individualist spirit of the Old West — a spirit our liberal rulers are determined to eradicate.

When Arizona Governor Jan Brewer attempted to speak at American University on the invitation of AU College Republicans, she was shouted down by Occucommie Brownshirts and forced to flee the room. If this doesn’t make you sick, you just might be a moonbat:
Maybe they should change the name to Anti-American University. America was a place where freedom of speech was honored. Thuggish scum like that seen in this video would have been universally reviled.
You would think a pricey university could afford security to maintain order. But of course, university administrators have sided with lawless left-wing goons at least since armed black supremacists took over Cornell’s Willard Straight Hall in 1969.
Our country has been coercively transformed into something that would put a vulture off his lunch. It would have been easier to resist at the beginning, but it’s not too late to take it back.
