Among the many surreptitious attacks on our Second Amendment rights, one of the most pernicious is the reasonable-sounding but tyrannical Violence Against Women Act. Under leadership provided by the likes of Majority Leader Eric Cantor, the increasingly useless Republican Party offers little if any resistance to these alarming violations of our freedom. The Great One explains why Cantor is a coward, and hack, and a weasel:
Gateway Pundit reports that
The bill’s language is so vague that if anyone is accused of violence under this law… then they would not have a right to a firearm.
If Republicans are not part of the solution to our menaced liberty, they are part of the problem.

Bob Woodward isn’t the only liberal to receive threats from an increasingly hysterical White House recently. Some are even going public.
Democrat hack Lanny Davis, best known for defending Bill Clinton’s inexcusable behavior night after night during the Lewinsky debacle, evidently needs to be kept in line:
A day after Woodward’s claim that a senior White House official had told him he would “regret” writing a column criticizing President Obama’s stance on the sequester, Lanny Davis, a longtime close advisor to President Bill Clinton, told WMAL’s Mornings on the Mall Thursday he had received similar threats for newspaper columns he had written about Obama in the Washington Times.
Davis told WMAL that his editor, John Solomon, “received a phone call from a senior Obama White House official who didn’t like some of my columns, even though I’m a supporter of Obama. I couldn’t imagine why this call was made.” Davis says the Obama aide told Solomon, “that if he continued to run my columns, he would lose, or his reporters would lose their White House credentials.”
Reports another lib, Ron Fournier of National Journal, who even now is loyal enough to proclaim the absurdity that “there is no reason to doubt Obama’s integrity — period”:
I tweeted: “Obama White House: Woodward is ‘willfully wrong.’ Huh-what did Nixon White House have to say about Woodward?” …
This evoked an ugly response from a “senior White House official” who had been serving him as an anonymous source.
The official angered by my Woodward tweet sent me an indignant e-mail. “What’s next, a Nazi analogy?” the official wrote, chastising me for spreading “bull**** like that” I was not offended by the note, mild in comparison to past exchanges with this official. But it was the last straw in a relationship that had deteriorated.
As editor-in-chief of National Journal, I received several e-mails and telephone calls from this White House official filled with vulgarity, abusive language, and virtually the same phrase that Woodward called a veiled threat. “You will regret staking out that claim,” The Washington Post reporter was told.
Once I moved back to daily reporting this year, the badgering intensified.
Fournier was forced to ice this valuable source by vowing to out him if there is any more harassment. One reason he did this was that
I didn’t want to condone behavior that might intimidate less-experienced reporters, a reaction I personally witnessed in journalists covering the Obama administration.
If Obama hadn’t been installed in office and kept there by this same media in order to advance its leftist agenda, journalists would be on him like a swarm of killer bees.

In case you were wondering what the slugs infesting the government from top to bottom think of those they rule, a local lawmaker in Hudson, New York spews bile at upstarts who resist their power grabs:
“Its [sic] really neat that all you gun toting tea party psychotards are so interested in the goings on of our little City,” Hudson Alderman David Marston wrote to Joanna Johnson-Smith — the New York state organizer of Gun Rights Across America — on February 22.
“On the other hand, I guess its [sic] not surprising, considering you ideologues aren’t interested in actual policy, but rather grandstanding on mythical narratives of victimization,” Marston continued.
You would think that “grandstanding on mythical narratives of victimization” would be the one area where a lib would know what he was talking about. This constitutes 90% of their malignant ideology.
Johnson-Smith had emailed Marston days earlier to insist that he reject a city council proposal to ban all guns on city property, including for permit-holders, according to a local Fox affiliate.
To Johnson-Smith’s observation that “Patriotic Americans … are incensed over the State and Federal attempts to disarm law-abiding Americans and spit on the Constitution,” Marston replies,
“The only spit here is the white stuff frothing on the ends of that rotten little mouth of yours from which you spew this hateful ignorant trash.”
Marston referred to advocates of adhering to the Constitution as “gun nuts,” “radical lunatics,” “barbarians,” and even “Eagle Scout God Worshiping Patriots,” possibly the worse insult a moonbat could imagine.
The Founding Fathers knew that eventually they would pass on, and creatures of Marston’s caliber, driven by an urge to boss others around, would end up in control of the government. That’s why they left us the Constitution — and why we need to defend every word of it to our last drop of blood.

It’s bad enough that moonbat social engineers have been going berserk in their laboratories, like mad doctors in old horror movies. What’s worse is that their subjects aren’t monsters stitched together out of corpses — they are innocent children:
The parents of a transgender 6-year-old have filed a complaint with the Colorado Civil Rights Division because Eagleside Elementary School in Fountain banned the first-grader from using the girls’ restroom.
The child, Coy Mathis, was born male but identifies as female. [He] had attended the school since December 2011 before being pulled out by [his] parents.
Don’t worry, comrades. Even when educrats are reactionary enough to put children’s well-being ahead of progressive ideology, the media, activists, and courts will step in to save the day.
“This is significant for both Colorado and nationally,” said Michael Silverman, executive director of the Transgender Legal Defense & Education Fund, who is representing the family. “For Colorado, it is the first test of the Colorado Anti-Discrimination Act as related to access to bathrooms by transgender students.”
If the parents’ little experiment went to school in moonbat-infested Boulder, he would be all set:
Boulder’s guidelines specifically address restroom accessibility, stating that “students shall have access to the restroom that corresponds to their gender identity consistently asserted at school.”
Encouraging a boy from a young age to pretend he is a girl will obviously have an extremely deleterious effect on his mental health. Bizarrely, moonbats take the inevitable psychiatric problems involved in failing to come to grips with your own body as an argument in favor of exacerbating these problems.
Every two years, the [Boulder school] district participates in Boulder County’s Youth Risk Behavior Survey, which “consistently has found one of the high-risk groups for teen suicide are GLBT (gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender) or questioning,” [district spokesman Briggs] Gamblin said. “It’s critically important that these students feel included — part of the community, not separated from it.”
Then we should stop deliberately nurturing severe psychiatric maladies and instead encourage children to live normal lives.
In an attempt to stay out of court, the Fountain school has mostly played along with Coy’s parents’ sick game:
Coy Mathis wears girls’ clothing, and students and staff used female pronouns when referring to [him]. But Fountain-Fort Carson administrators decided over winter break that the child should use the boys’ restroom, the staff’s restroom or the one in the school nurse’s office.
Not good enough. The Mathises want their son to use the girls’ bathroom, lest he fall prey to “harassing and bullying.”
If this were their actual motive, they would be unlikely to encourage their son to behave like a freak. As always, the bullying is on the part of liberals who want to force everyone else to live in a world remade in their own warped image.

It’s like a Hollywood remake. The same actor is even playing one of the same lead roles. Bob Woodward helped bring down Nixon and is now doing the same for the comparably secretive, unscrupulous, and personality-disordered Barack Hussein Obama.
While the rest of the media recites Administration talking points regarding the sequester dog and pony show, helping the White House overhype it and blame it on Republicans, Woodward was pointing out a week ago that Obama lies when he barks that he did not propose the sequester:
My extensive reporting for my book “The Price of Politics” shows that the automatic spending cuts were initiated by the White House and were the brainchild of [Jack] Lew and White House congressional relations chief Rob Nabors — probably the foremost experts on budget issues in the senior ranks of the federal government.
Obama personally approved of the plan for Lew and Nabors to propose the sequester to Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.). They did so at 2:30 p.m. July 27, 2011, according to interviews with two senior White House aides who were directly involved.
Commenting on Obama’s unmistakable efforts to squeeze as much damage as possible out of the sequester, so that the public will demand that Republicans accede to still higher taxes,
Woodward said Obama was showing a “kind of madness I haven’t seen in a long time” for a decision not to deploy an aircraft carrier to the Persian Gulf because of budget concerns.
The last time we were aware of Woodward perceiving madness in the presidency, a resignation to avoid impeachment soon followed.
The Regime is not amused:
Veteran journalist Bob Woodward said Wednesday he was threatened by a senior Obama administration official following his reporting on the White House’s handling of the forced federal spending cuts set to take effect on Friday.
“They’re not happy at all,” he said on CNN’s “The Situation Room,” adding that an e-mail from a senior administration official — who he would not name — communicated a message which caused him great concern.
“It was said very clearly, you will regret doing this,” he said.
According to a Democrat aware of the situation, Gene Sperling, director of the National Economic Council, sent the email Woodward cited.
This time the plot may veer off on a different course. Journalists hated Nixon for being a Republican, so when Woodward presented them with an opening, they shoved through with great relish and destroyed his presidency. Do they have enough integrity to the same with Obama, who is clearly endangering our national interests for political gain, and whose Fast & Furious, Solyndra, and Benghazi scandals all dwarf Watergate? Or will they remain loyal in their role as Obama’s palace guard and turn on Woodward, suddenly discovering that he is a racist/sexist/homophobe or that he refuses to recycle?
Given the general gutlessness that characterizes this generation, the press will probably opt for a middle course, half-heartedly pretending to be objective but letting the story die as quickly as possible instead of using it as a starting point.

By taking control of public education, liberals have been able to spread the rot that is destroying our country even into small towns in Texas:
An Advanced Placement World Geography teacher at a Texas high school who encouraged students to dress in Islamic clothing also instructed them to refer to the 9-11 hijackers not as terrorists — but as “freedom fighters,” according to students who were in the class.
Students at Lumberton High School were also told to stop referring to the Holocaust as Genocide — instead they were told to use the term “ethnic cleansing.”
John Valastro, the superintendent of the Lumberton Independent School District, told Fox News that the teacher did absolutely nothing wrong. …
Valastro said the teacher involved is a 32-year veteran who was simply following state teaching guidelines.
April LeBlanc, whose 15-year-old daughter Madelyn was subjected to the brainwashing, gasped,
“This teacher taught her that a freedom fighter is when they give their life for the Holy War — and that they’re going to go to heaven,” she told Fox News. “They were saturating these kids in Islam and my daughter is an American Christian child.”
Don’t blame the teacher. She was just following orders, as people do in countries run by oligarchical collectivists. As Madelyn LeBlanc reports,
“I do have a lot of sympathy for her. At the very beginning she said she didn’t want to teach it but it was in the curriculum.” …
During a lesson on Judaism, LeBlanc said the teacher told the class, “Students, I’m supposed to be politically correct and tell you that the Holocaust was not Genocide. It was an ethnic cleansing.”
As with all things progressive, the political correctness envelope just keeps getting pushed. Anyone depraved enough to imagine what will be regarded as politically correct five years from now is a fit candidate for an exorcism.
To his immense credit, one young man objected to the characterization of the mass murdering terrorists of 9/11 as “freedom fighters.”
Madelyn said the teacher didn’t know how to respond.
“She said it was something we have to learn for the end of the year testing,” she said. “I’m sure it was very difficult for her to do.”
Madelyn said the lesson about freedom fighters made her feel “terrible.”
“That made it sound like what they were doing was okay,” she said.
This is all fine according to Superintendent Valastro.
“The whole idea behind this particular lesson — do you call yourself a freedom fighter or Islamic jihadist — or whatever it is you want to be called — you’ve got to put things in perspective,” the superintendent said.
For more “perspective,” Valastro points to the Boston Tea Party, a seminal event in our nation’s history:
“We were revolutionaries, but on the British side of the ocean we were destroying their content and they saw it as a terrorist attack.”
When liberals elected and then reelected Barack Hussein Obama — with his pro-Islamic, anti-American background and attitudes — they voted for a country where this is what is taught in public schools. If we ever begin to find it tolerable, they will have defeated us.

At least Western Civilization’s self-inflicted descent into anarcho-tyranny is providing high times for petty criminals. In Australia, owning a firearm to defend yourself from the lawless will get you in big trouble — but life is all laughs if you are the lawless:
A teenage couple who went on an eight-month crime spree of police chases, fraud and theft – committing more than 100 offences – have laughed at Queensland’s “joke” of a justice system.
Dylan McDonald, 18, and Hannah Feasey, 17, told Today Tonight they went on a rampage of stealing cars and computer games last year and got next to no penalty when they fronted court in January.
They described taunting police into chases, hitting speeds of 230km/h. “I stole like 15 cars and I’m not even in jail,” Dylan told the program said. “That’s pretty weird.”
If Dylan understands that, they should make him a judge. It could only be an improvement for Australia’s liberal-infested judicial system.
About the six police chases he has been involved in, Dylan said: “It’s thrilling. It’s not really scary. They (police) pull off pretty quick.”
Hannah also told of taunting police from stolen cars.
“They were going real fast next to us and we’re like, yeah, we’ll race them,” she said.
The teenager described using a secret pocket in her bag to sneak games out of JB Hi-fi – making up to $200 a day selling them…
Then the long arm of the law caught up with them.
The pair was sentenced in January, with Dylan given a six-month suspended prison term and a $2000 fine, and Hannah put on 18 months probation with 100 hours of community service.
“Court’s like pretty much a joke,” Dylan said. …
Hannah agreed. “He’s gotten away with so much, it’s not funny,” she said. “He should be in jail right now.”
The fools who let them loose should be in jail.

Yet another FAIL for the bird-chopping wind turbines that moonbats have been pouring our money into as part of their lunatic jihad against efficient means of producing energy:
Two wind turbines towering above the Cape Cod community of Falmouth, Mass., were intended to produce green energy and savings — but they’ve created angst and division, and may now be removed at a high cost as neighbors complain of noise and illness.
“It gets to be jet-engine loud,” said Falmouth resident Neil Andersen. He and his wife Betsy live just a quarter mile from one of the turbines. They say the impact on their health has been devastating. They’re suffering headaches, dizziness and sleep deprivation and often seek to escape the property where they’ve lived for more than 20 years.
“Every time the blade has a downward motion it gives off a tremendous energy, gives off a pulse,” said Andersen. “And that pulse, it gets into your tubular organs, chest cavity, mimics a heartbeat, gives you headaches. It’s extremely disturbing and it gets to the point where you have to leave.”
The first turbine went up in 2010 and by the time both were in place on the industrial site of the town’s water treatment facility, the price was $10 million. Town officials say taking them down will cost an estimated $5 million to $15 million, but that is just what Falmouth’s five selectmen have decided to move toward doing.
In the meantime, the pestiferous turbines are operating at a loss, costing more money with each passing day.
As Obama’s $16.6 trillion debt attests, liberal foolishness doesn’t come cheap.

Under liberalism, if you are a working, law-abiding citizen, government takes ever more of your property, and offers you ever less in return. This is what taxpayers get for their money in Oakland, the USA’s fifth most liberal city:
Oakland’s crime problems have gotten so bad that some people aren’t even bothering to call the cops anymore; instead, they’re trying to solve and prevent crimes themselves.
KPIX 5 cameras caught up with a half dozen neighbors in East Oakland’s Arcadia Park neighborhood Monday as they walked the streets on the lookout for crime. The vigilance has never seemed more necessary than now; 25 homes in the neighborhood have been burglarized over the last two months alone. …
“You have to walk around in your house with a gun to feel safe here,” said Alaska Tarvins of the Arcadia Park Board of Directors.
As the authoritarian kooks running California tighten the noose on lawful gun owners, the law-abiding will have no defense at all. The term for this is anarcho-tyranny.
In the meantime, there is no need to wonder what will happen to any of these noble volunteers who uses a gun to prevent some punk from bashing their brains out against a sidewalk — not after the example the media/Obama Regime made of George Zimmerman.
Over the weekend, one home was burglarized twice in a 24 hour period, once while a resident’s nephew was inside.
“He was on with 911 when those men tried to kick into his room. That was very frightening,” said the woman, identified only as Inca.
Some Oakland neighborhoods have taken to hiring private security guards.
“We don’t have a choice. Either die or we hire some security ourselves, because we can’t depend on the police department,” said Tarvins.
Just as the federal government cannot justify its existence unless it defends the border from foreign incursion, local governments are not legitimate unless they provide public safety. Contra Obama, government does not exist to redistribute wealth; that is the job of the criminals government is there to defend us against.

With his ham-fistedly prolonged reign as NYC Mayor finally ending this year, Michael Bloomberg can focus on extending his jihad against individual liberty nationwide — as he did in the special election to replace disgraced basket case Jesse Jackson Jr. in Chicago’s crappy South Side slums by bankrolling an avidly anti-freedom candidate:
Robin Kelly, a former Illinois state senator and Manhattan native, triumphed in a 15-candidate Democratic special primary, boosted by a huge outlay for TV advertising from Bloomberg’s Independence USA.
The Democrat primary is the real election in single-party Chicago. The actual election, with Republicans on the ticket, is only a formality.
The purpose of the Orwellian Independence USA is to further weaken the independence of individuals by attacking the Second Amendment.
Bloomberg’s Super PAC had spent $2.2 million on the race as of last week, more than the total sum raised by all 15 candidates. The billionaire mayor’s political outfit began by attacking candidate Debbie Halvorson, a former congresswoman who was the preferred candidate of the National Rifle Association. Her name recognition had made her the initial front-runner in the race…
But Bloomberg’s cash provided for an unrelenting assault. She wilted under the barrage, and her weakness as a poorly funded candidate prevented her counterattacks from having any real effect.
In the last two weeks, the Bloomberg ads bashed her but also helped build up Kelly’s candidacy.
Money is the mother’s milk of politics — and oligarchical collectivists have plenty of it. This is what Bloomberg bought with some of his:
The newly elected Democratic nominee to replace disgraced former U.S. Rep. Jesse Jackson Jr. vowed to become a leader in the fight for federal gun control and directly challenged the National Rifle Association in her victory speech. …
Kelly promised in her victory speech later Tuesday night to fight “until gun violence is no longer a nightly feature on the evening news” and directly addressed the NRA, saying “their days of holding our country hostage are coming to an end.”
This cartoonish rhetoric will not be spewed by anyone likely to live by their oath to defend the Constitution. Bloomberg purchased Kelly’s seat explicitly because she will not live by it.
Bloomberg called Kelly’s win an important victory for “common sense leadership” on gun violence, saying in a statement that voters nationwide are demanding change from their leaders.
Getting voters to demand further encroachment on their liberty requires brainwashing even beyond what the “mainstream” media provides. Bloomberg’s deep pockets are up to the job.

By choosing the conspicuously incompetent left-wing screwball Chuck Hagel for Secretary of Defense, Barack Hussein Obama hawked up an oversized, nicotine-stained oyster from deep in his phlegmy chest and spat it squarely in the face of the US Armed Forces, delighting American enemies from Iran to Louis Farrakhan. Here is a list of Republican Senators who participated in this outrage by voting against the filibuster that could have stopped it:
Never mind the posturing that took place by those who voted against Hagel after his confirmation was already a done deal. The cloture vote was the real one.
If your state suffers the indignity of being “represented” by one or more of these collaborators, make very sure to vote appropriately in the next primary. So long as we continue to tolerate them, they will continue to conspire with Democrats against us.
According to a lawyer for the Obama Regime, the federal government has the authority to compel you to commit the most appalling crimes against your conscience — even to murder children — regardless of how grievously this would betray your religious beliefs:
The assertion came in the case of Tyndale House Publishers v. Sebelius, a challenge to the Obama administration’s regulation requiring health-care plans to cover sterilizations, contraceptives and abortion-inducing drugs.
Tyndale is a for-profit corporation that publishes Bibles, biblical commentaries and other religious works. …
As a matter of religious principle, the foundation believes that human life begins at conception and that abortion is wrong.
The corporation self-insures, providing its employees with a generous health-care plan. But, in keeping with its religious faith, it does not in any way provide abortions. For this reason, Tyndale sued the Obama administration, arguing that the Obamacare regulation that would force it to provide abortion-inducing drugs and IUDs in its health-care plan violated its right to the free-exercise of religion.
In the Regime’s corner: Benjamin Berwick, a lawyer for the Civil Division of the Justice Department.
Berwick argued here — as the administration has argued in other cases where private businesses are challenging the sterilization-contraception-abortifacient mandate — that once people form a corporation to conduct business they lose their First Amendment right to the free exercise of religion insofar as their business is concerned.
In the face of this argument, [US District Judge Reggie] Walton asked an interesting question. His wife, a graduate of Georgetown Medical School, is a physician. She has incorporated her medical practice. Does that mean, according to the Obama administration’s argument, that the federal government can force her to act against her religious faith in the conduct of her medical practice?
Berwick’s alarming answer: Yes.

Last time the RINOs Lettuce McCain and Lindsey Grahamnesty tried to ram through amnesty for the millions upon millions of illegal aliens whose very presence here expresses contempt for our country’s sovereignty and laws, they were beaten back by massive public resistance. But it looks like they will have better luck, now that America as we loved it is undergoing death by fundamental transformation:
Sens. John McCain (R-Ariz.) and Lindsey Graham said they had an “excellent” meeting on Tuesday with President Obama and Vice President Biden on immigration reform.
The two senators traveled to the White House to talk about the renewed push for an immigration overhaul in Congress, and said they liked what they heard from Obama.
Amnesty combined with Obama’s massive expansion of the entitlement state will guarantee that the fundamental transformation is permanent by displacing America’s population in a tidal wave of Third World welfare colonists.
Maybe McLame, Grahamnesty, et al. really are foolish enough to believe these colonists and their intergenerationally handout-dependent offspring will remember that Republicans helped sell out America and reward them with votes; maybe they have other motives too hideous to share. Regardless, they are quislings.
