You would think that since they still call it Notre Dame, it is still a Catholic University. Yet the first anti-Christian president in US history was greeted there with open arms and even granted an honorary degree. In stark contrast, those promoting traditional Catholic values are not welcome:
Young volunteers with Tradition Family Property Student Action were ordered to “cease and desist” promoting traditional marriage at the University of Notre Dame on Friday, April 25.
“Permission to have a table had been granted through an officially recognized on-campus student group,” said TFP Student Action director John Ritchie. “But that permission was revoked for some odd reason. Police officers arrived soon after we started giving out pro-family literature and cut the event short, informing us that we were no longer welcome to talk to students about the importance of preserving the sanctity of marriage between 1 man and 1 woman, which fully agrees with 2,000 years of Catholic teaching,” Ritchie explained.
The TFP handout, 10 Reasons Why Same-Sex “Marriage” is Harmful and Must Be Opposed, was being warmly received by students and faculty members alike. However, several pro-homosexual students ripped up the flier, shouted obscenities, and expressed their desire to deprive the pro-true marriage volunteers of their right to free speech.
As we have come to expect, the police soon arrived to shut down the table in the name of inclusiveness, tolerance, diversity, et cetera.

I sure hope Obama is enjoying the constant golf outings that have become emblematic of his presidency. This gives an idea of how much they are costing us:
Judicial Watch announced today, it has obtained records from the U.S. Department of the Air Force revealing that President Obama’s February 2014 Palm Springs, California, and March 2014 Key Largo, Florida, golf outings cost the taxpayers $2,952,278 for flight expenses alone.
• According to the Department of Air Force documents, the flights to and from, Palm Springs for the February 17 – 20, 2014 trip totaled 9.8 hours at $210,877 an hour, which comes to a total of $2,066,594.60 in flight expenses. The records came in response to a Judicial Watch Freedom of request filed on February 18, 2014.
• Also according to the Department of Air Force documents, the total cost for flights to and from Key Largo, Florida for the March 7 – 9 trip totaled 4.2 hours at $210,877, which comes to a total of $885,683.40 for flight in expenses. The records came in response to a Judicial Watch Freedom of Information Act request filed on March 10, 2014.
Though the administration billed the President’s Day weekend trip to California as an effort to highlight the state’s severe water drought, the White House official schedule showed the president spent just four hours at three drought-related events on the afternoon of Friday, February 14. He then spent much of the next three days playing golf at some of Coachella Valley, California’s, most exclusive golf courses, which, according to Fox News, “consume roughly 17 percent of all water there, and one quarter of the water pumped out of the region’s at-risk groundwater aquifer.” Each course uses nearly 1 million gallons of water a day.
During March 7 – 9, the First Family spent Spring Break at Key Largo, Florida’s, exclusive Ocean Reef Club, where members must have a minimum net worth of $35 million to join. According to its website, “the Club boasts two championship 18-hole courses, a rarity in the Florida Keys … a salon and spa, more than a dozen restaurants, a 175-slip marina, a private airport, and so much more.” The costly Spring Break vacation took place on the heels of Obama’s State of the Union Address in which he focused on income inequality.
That’s how he makes up for living like a czar at the expense of citizens who are struggling to stay afloat in an economy taxed to the point of anemia: by demonizing those who live well because they created wealth, as opposed to using the government to seize others’ wealth like himself. The sort of people who voted for him eat that stuff up. Obviously they don’t have a problem with hypocrisy.

If we needed a smoking gun to prove that a conspiracy to mislead the public regarding the terror attack that killed four Americans at the consulate in Benghazi originated in the White House, we now have it:
A clutch of newly released White House emails provides the clearest evidence to date that top presidential aides sought to use anti-American protests sweeping across the Middle East in 2012 — as well as the aftermath of the Benghazi terrorist attack — to push an image of President Obama’s foreign policy as “steady and statesmanlike,” just weeks before his re-election.
In one of the emails — written just hours after a top CIA official warned the White House that the Benghazi attack might not have been inspired by the Internet video that had triggered protests in Egypt, Yemen and other nations in the region — the administration’s strategic communications adviser told U.N. Ambassador Susan E. Rice in a memo to push the favorable story line anyway on national television.
Anyone who imagined that Rice came up with the idea on her own to go on all the Sunday shows and tell preposterous lies to cover Obama’s behind now knows better.
The Sept. 15, 2012, late-afternoon email from White House adviser Ben Rhodes, now the No. 2 official on the National Security Council, was released this week under the Freedom of Information Act to a conservative legal organization. It offers what appears to be the first clear evidence that the White House sought a political edge in the confusing aftermath of the worst U.S. diplomatic tragedy in decades.
Under the heading “Goals” for Ms. Rice’s appearance on five Sunday talk shows, Mr. Rhodes wrote to other White House communications officials that a main objective of Ms. Rice’s interviews should be to “reinforce the president and the administration’s strength and steadiness in dealing with difficult challenges.”
Strength and steadiness? You can see why Rice had to lie through her teeth to “reinforce” something so conspicuously nonexistent.
A second goal was to link the Benghazi attack — and those on other diplomatic sites across the Middle East — to an obscure anti-Muslim video and to insist that the protests were not “rooted” in a “broader failure of [administration] policy.”
All of these pathetically obvious lies were construed to secure Obama’s reelection less than two months later.
For months, the White House and top intelligence officials denied that politics played any part in their description of Benghazi and was simply an effort by the intelligence community to sort through contradictory facts about what happened on the ground.
That is, they covered their lies with more lies, contemptuous of the American public.
The main concern of the Regime was not the four dead Americans, the resurgence of al Qaeda and allied groups, or the collapse of American foreign policy in the Middle East. It was to prop up a phony public image to keep the disgraceful Obama in power.
If Watergate was enough to force Nixon out of office, imagine how fast we would be rid of Obama if the media were not on his side.
Now that the SS and the KGB are no longer with us, the most openly evil organization on the planet may be the death cult calling itself the National Abortion and Reproductive Rights Action League, a.k.a. NARAL. It doesn’t hurt just babies, although in a soft tyranny like ours, only babies are killed. Others get removed from public view:
Bowing to pressure from abortion-rights groups, Google is removing advertisements from its site for “crisis pregnancy centers” that discourage people from having abortions.
The phrase “abortion-rights groups” apparently means NARAL, the worst of the worst among pro-abortion fanatics, supporters of the homicidal “late-term” activities that made Tiller the Baby Killer so infamous.
“Anyone looking for abortion services should be able to depend on their search engine to provide them with accurate resources,” NARAL President Ilyse Hogue said in a statement. “Anything less is aiding and abetting ideologically driven groups with a calculated campaign to lie to and shame women making one of the most important decisions of our lives.”
That is, the decision to kill their own child. Anyone who would point out other options is “ideologically driven” — unlike NARAL, of course.
National Right to Life Committee President Carol Tobias, though, said that the resource centers are used by many pregnant women who would be hurt by Google’s action.
“Google is waging a war on women by limiting knowledge of the options and services available to women,” she said in an email to The Hill.
However, only the phony war on women — consisting of misleading statistics on income disparities and resistance to coercively financed birth control — is likely to get more than passing mention from the media, which is as devoted to NARAL’s degenerate, pro-death agenda as Google is.
NARAL crows that two-thirds of the ads it didn’t like were removed on their command.
It seems every story we read marks another milestone on the road into a nightmare realm of homogeneous liberalism.

If you think Washington is scary now, consider this: Al Gore is not ruling out a 2016 run for president.
Al Gore 2000 was awful, proving himself willing to divide the country and put it through hell during his attempt to sue his way into the White House. Al Gore 2016 would be many times worse. He would be a single-issue president, and that issue would be the total destruction of the economy in the name of the debunked global warming hoax.
A fawning interview by the libs at Politico reminds us that true believer moonbats still think not only that global warming exists, but that it is an urgent crisis, worthy of drastic sacrifices in terms of wealth and freedom — never mind that so far 2014 has been the third-coldest year in US history despite carbon levels climbing higher than ever.
Even among the lefty Kool-Aid set, Gore is a pioneer charting new territory on the far side of the lunatic fringe. Astonishingly, he shrieks that the liberal media, which has hysterically promoted his hoax at every turn, is in league with “the carbon polluter lobby” and “anti-statist right-wing ideological groups.”
His agenda in his own words:
“I want to catalyze the emergence of a solution to the climate crisis as quickly as possible. Period.”
The supposed solution to this imaginary crisis would inevitably entail a centralized Soviet-style economy and the reduction of our standard of living to Soviet if not medieval levels. Incidentally, it would make our rulers as powerful as the global warming hoax has made Al Gore rich. Largely thanks to his exploitation of the climate hoax, he is worth well over $200 million. There is nothing more for him to want now but power.

Allowing your culture to be absorbed and eventually eradicated by another has its costs. Two of the costs Britons are paying are ham and bacon:
Almost 200 branches of Subway have cut ham and bacon from their menus, serving halal meat in response to calls from their Muslim customers.
The sandwich chain said ‘following a strong demand from our Muslim customers’, 185 outlets in the UK and Ireland have introduced the meat, which is prepared under strict Islamic rules.
This would be bad news for moonbats, considering their professed concern for “animal rights”…
Many animal charities condemn halal slaughter as being cruel to animals.
Traditionally in halal abattoirs the throats of the animals are cut while they are fully conscious – an act many campaigners say is inhumane and needlessly cruel.
…except that Muslims are at the very top of the liberal caste system, so that pandering to them takes priority over all other interests.
You can live without bacon and ham? That’s good. Hopefully you won’t mind living without alcohol too. That will be next to go as Britain is Islamicized by Muslim welfare colonists imported in vast hordes by its treasonous leaders.

Soft tyranny works by wrapping oppression in warm fuzzy sanctimony, so that low-information voters won’t put up resistance. For example, the most tyrannical of the countless federal agencies after the IRS is the Environmental Protection Agency. Who could be opposed to saving the planet, and all the adorable creatures that frolic innocently thereon? Who could mount serious resistance to an agency run by a circus clown like Gina McCarthy? Yet this clown will crush freedom as fast as a jackbooted Bolshevik.
Environmental Protection Agency administrator Gina McCarthy has issued a warning to Republicans who continue to question the integrity of the agency’s scientific data: we’re coming for you.
McCarthy told an audience at the National Academy of Sciences on Monday morning the agency will go after a “small but vocal group of critics” who are arguing the EPA is using “secret science” to push costly clean air regulations.
What it means to “go after” them is unclear, but Republicans had better check that there are no puddles in their driveways, or their houses might be confiscated as “wetlands” and given over to the newts and frogs.
Republicans Sen. David Vitter of Louisiana and Rep. Lamar Smith of Texas have led the charge on pressing the EPA to make publicly available the scientific data behind its clean air regulations. McCarthy promised she would make such data publicly available during her confirmation process last year. Now her refusal to cough up the data has angered Republicans.
As Vitter politely observes,
“We’re not asking, and we’ve never asked, for personal health information, and it is inexcusable for EPA to justify billions of dollars of economically significant regulations on science that is kept hidden from independent reanalysis and congressional oversight.”
But evading Congress is the whole point of investing ever more power in the massive and unelected bureaucracy. Even when Democrats controlled both houses, they couldn’t get Cap & Trade through due to the economic devastation it would cause. So Obama is implementing similar policies through the EPA — with no accountability to voters.
The EPA has used non-public data to justify 85 percent of $2 trillion worth of Clean Air Act regulation benefits from 1990 to 2020. The agency also uses such datasets to assert that Clean Air Act regulation benefits exceed the costs by a 30:1 ratio originates from the secret data sets.
In the Obama lexicon, the term for this is “transparency.”
Why keep the data secret? Probably because it is as bogus as Michael Mann’s hockey stick — always assuming there even is any data, other than figures made up on the fly to impress gullible fools.
The EPA’s agenda is not about the environment; it is about strangling economic freedom with deliberately destructive regulations and replacing it with a command and control economy similar to the Soviet Union’s.

Jabbering liberal talking points reciter Juan Williams has been mugged by reality before, when he was thrown off hard left NPR for acknowledging the threat of Islamic terror on Fox News. Maybe this time the lesson will take:
During an April 28 interview on The Lars Larson Show, Fox News’ Juan Williams told a story about his wife’s car being stolen …
Williams said that his wife “went to the gas station” this past weekend to fuel her car. He said that “while she’s trying to put the credit card in some guy rushes by her, gets in the car and drives off with the damn car.”
Williams said his wife’s response was, “I wish I had a gun.”
Larson suggested Williams should buy his wife a gun at the next opportunity. He might as well. Plenty of liberals enjoy armed security, even those most aggressively opposed to our right to bear arms, like Rosie O’Donnell and Michael Moore.

Russia is about to invade the Ukraine and possibly move on from there to the Baltic states and/or Poland. The terrorists running Iran are about to obtain nuclear weapons. The national debt is reaching a point of no return beyond which eventual financial collapse is inevitable. But if you turn on your TV or radio lately, all you will find wedged in between the commercials are shrill denunciations of the formerly obscure Donald Sterling for making some uninteresting comment irreverent toward blacks.
No news producer could believe the Sterling kerfuffle is a legitimate top story. This preposterous spectacle serves the same purpose as Stalin’s show trials — to teach the rest of us that the thought police can destroy anyone at any time for what they say in private conversations. But there may be a more specific motivation to zero in on Sterling in particular.
Prominent among the pack of hungry wolves howling for Sterling’s blood is former basketball great Magic Johnson:
Magic Johnson went on ESPN’s “NBA Countdown” television show Sunday afternoon to express his disappointment with alleged racist comments made by Los Angeles Clippers owner Donald Sterling. Mr. Johnson, a respected and beloved figure in the Los Angeles sports scene, called Mr. Sterling’s words, which were partially directed at him, “bad for America,” and argued that Sterling should give up ownership of his team. And if new reports prove true, Johnson has a perfect replacement in mind: himself.
That’s how things work in the sort of country this is becoming. Say you would like to purchase your neighbor’s land at a bargain rate. Pick up the phone: tell the Gestapo I mean the media he’s Jewish I mean doesn’t like blacks. The farm is suddenly on the market.
The Guggenheim Group, a billionaire team fronted by Magic that owns Major League Baseball’s Los Angeles Dodgers, has reportedly expressed interest in taking the Clippers off Sterling’s hands. “Magic’s absolutely interested,” an unnamed source told Yahoo! Sports on Sunday.
A famous black athlete infected with HIV and revered for his AIDS activism has all sorts of pull among the moonbat establishment. That’s why Johnson was chosen to front the Guggenheim Group.
Other members of the ruling class are always looking for someone to serve as Emmanuel Goldstein for the Two Minutes Hate. Why not help a friend by picking someone who is in the way?
Johnson’s group wanted to buy the Lakers, but unless the ownership commits a thought crime, they will have to settle for the Clippers.
The Los Angeles Clippers were valued at $575 million by Forbes in January, but in terms of a sale, “that’s clearly too low,” says Victor Matheson, a professor and sports economist at the College of the Holy Cross in Worcester, Mass. The Milwaukee Bucks, he points out, sold for $550 million earlier this month. That team plays in one of the league’s smallest markets and had a terrible season, but Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban recently called the price tag “a bargain.”
The Clippers, meanwhile, play in one of the NBA’s biggest media markets, and they have found success in recent years after decades of losing seasons and bumbling front office management. Long overshadowed by the Lakers (worth $1.3 billion, Forbes says), the Clippers now have superstars in Blake Griffin and Chris Paul, as well as a highly respected coach in Doc Rivers. The team is expected to make a deep playoff run this postseason, and finally appears to be emerging from the shadow of its arena-mate in the Staples Center. As NBA revenues continue to grow, and team values along with it, a Clippers sale north of $1 billion wouldn’t be particularly surprising.
An affiliation with Magic Johnson, meanwhile, could complete the Clippers’ transformation from the Lakers’ idiot kid brother to a national powerhouse in its own right.
A coerced sale could drive the price down considerably. No one in the media will mind; Sterling deserves what he gets for being politically incorrect.

Already leadership devoted not to winning wars but to advancing the radical left agenda has resulted in difficulty retaining top warriors. Now is the time for the moonbat ideologues Obama placed atop the military to push full steam forward:
The nation’s top military brass gathered in the Pentagon auditorium Monday to pull out their pens and sign a ceremonial document vowing to “create an inclusive environment that values diversity and fosters mutual respect and cooperation among all persons.”
Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel and Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Gen. Martin Dempsey led the signing of the 2014 Human Goals Charter: “the cornerstone document governing the Defense Department’s fair treatment of people, as well as its diversity and equity programs.”
This is what the brass does with its time instead of resolving the war in Afghanistan or figuring out what to do if Putin moves on to Poland when he is done absorbing the Ukraine.
For every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction. For each privileged oppressed person upon whom “fair treatment” is bestowed by the authorities, there will be a normal person who doesn’t get the promotion because he isn’t sufficiently “diverse.”
Jessica Wright, acting undersecretary of Defense for personnel and readiness, said the event “highlights the department’s unwavering commitment to its people, to diversity, and to inclusion.”
For those who don’t realize that “inclusion” means the exclusion of people liberals don’t like (e.g., Christians) and the aggressive favoring of those they do like (e.g., those who construct a public persona around deviant sexual activity), she went on:
That includes, she said, “fundamental changes in our views of sexual orientation.”
George Patton is vomiting convulsively in his grave.
On a tip from Henry.
The liberal-agenda–driven spectacle that is the “conservative” wing of the establishment news media has degenerated into a pack of vicious dogs ripping some previously unknown sap limb from limb for having said something unflattering about blacks in a private conversation. The phoniest of the “right-wing” punditocracy, Sean Hannity, actually stopped denouncing the allegedly racist Cliven Bundy long enough to exclusively devote the first third of his television program last night to sanctimonious demands for Los Angeles Clippers’ owner Donald Sterling’s head on a stake. Even people you might be tempted to respect have joined in. For example, last night Mark Levin brayed in unison with irresponsible race arsonists like Al Sharpton and Barack Obama that Sterling’s private remarks are an intolerable outrage.
No one will defend Sterling. But no one should have to. What people should defend is his right to say whatever the hell he wants, regardless of whether it is deemed to be correct by the authorities.
Remember when people could voice their opinions in private conversations without the risk of being ripped to pieces by the rabid jackals comprising the media? When people would respond even to the most obnoxious statements by saying, “It’s a free country; you’re free to your opinion” or even, “While I disagree with what you say, I will defend to the death your right to say it”? We were a far better people then than we are now.
Sterling appears to be an easily dislikable guy — a far better candidate for the liberal media’s Two Minutes Hate than Cliven Bundy. They destroyed Bundy — who actually doesn’t even have a hostile view toward politically sacred blacks — because he was becoming dangerous to them by representing resistance to Big Government. Sterling is more a target of convenience. But not even Sterling is the ideal villain:
Sterling is a multi-millionaire who lives in Los Angeles and owns a professional basketball team in arguably America’s most multicultural city. He also happens to be Jewish (he was born Donald Tokowitz), has a mulatto girlfriend, earned a lifetime achievement award from the NAACP for the millions of dollars he’s given them, and the only political candidates he has donated to have been Democrats.
Not exactly the résumé the media was looking for. But Sterling will do fine, because who he really is doesn’t matter. His thought crime completely defines him in the public eye.
They are tearing him down simply to make an example. Say anything politically incorrect, even in private, and you too could be fed to the piranhas. If you want to survive in a totalitarian culture like this is becoming, you had better learn not even to think anything politically incorrect.
One of the few who seem to grasp the real issue here is another NBA owner — Mark Cuban, formerly known as a flaming moonbat (who has funded highly inflammatory anti-American propaganda). After the obligatory denunciation of Sterling, Cuban said this:
“I think you’ve got to be very, very careful when you start making blanket statements about what people say and think, as opposed to what they do.”
Nonetheless Cuban did not have the guts to defend Sterling from the likes of Al Sharpton, who demand that he be stripped of ownership of the Clippers.
Asked if the league would be better off without Sterling as an owner, Cuban said, “At this point, yes.”
For all the lockstep sanctimonious sputtering from everyone on TV and radio, this story is not about race. It is about freedom and its opposite, coerced ideological homogeneity.
At this point the stampeded cattle comprising the American public will probably agree that anyone who does not want his mistress hanging out with blacks is so awful that he should be burned at the stake. But if the thought police are successful at immolating Sterling, next time it might not be about race. Next time the thought criminal will be someone who said something not currently politically fashionable about homosexuals — and/or about the Bible. Soon it could be a remark expressing doubts about the dangers of global warming that turns someone into Emmanuel Goldstein. If we continue down this road, within a few years, criticism of government figures could bring out the lynch mob.
Like Da Vinci said, it is easier to resist at the beginning than it is at the end. Our slide into totalitarianism has to be stopped right here. The first step is to call out those participating in the hysterical denunciations of Sterling for what they are: Brownshirts.
