You wouldn’t expect Cruz to beat Trump in New York or New Jersey. So why is the contest expected to be so close in Iowa?
As PJ Media notes,
There can be no doubt that Cruz and Trump have completely different sets of values. If Iowans decide to vote for Trump, that’s fine, but they have to know who he is and what he believes, so they’re not bamboozled into casting a vote for a closet-liberal.
The secret to Trump’s success is that his opposition is divided. The opposition in Iowa needs to rally behind the candidate most likely to beat him.

Live by moonbattery, die by moonbattery:
Don Harris, the president of the Maricopa County [Arizona] Chapter of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People, had just finished an event at Tempe Union High School District to discuss an incident at the school in which several girls wore black t-shirts bearing the letters “N-I-*-*-E-R” on them.
They were suspended for 5 days for the stunt. But that wasn’t enough to please Harris, who barked,
“This hurtful use of a racial slur is a complete disregard for the dignity of the black community in Arizona and across the nation and the punishment does not fit the total ignorance and cruelty of the crime.”
Harris was on hand to accept apologizes and demand action.
But after the meeting, while participants were speaking with the media, he was caught on camera saying Channel 12 reporter Monique Griego had “nice tits.”
The militantly politically correct were thrown into another paroxysm of self-righteous rage. Harris responded with a self-aggrandizing, obscenity-laced tirade.
The New Times contacted Harris after that incident and reports the NAACP leader said, “I apologize if anyone was offended. I could have said nothing . . . I’m really f*cking sorry.”
He argued that the meeting was over when he complimented the reporter’s rack and then really blew a gasket…
Raved the professional imposer of political correctness,
“I’m going to slash my wrists,” he spews. “Better yet, I’m going to throw myself out of a fu**ing window, except I’m on the first floor . . . I’m one of the best go**amned people in the state.” …
“They’ve seen me now, they’ve seen what I’ve done. I’ve given up my law practice. I’m down here six, seven days a week. That’s what my commitment is. I support NOW, the women’s organization — go**amn! — are you shi**ing me? Are you going to write this up?”
Like faux-Negress Rachel Dolezal, a fellow local NAACP president whom he has denounced for lacking credibility, Harris is of the Caucasian persuasion. There were calls for his ouster on the grounds of sexism and “white privilege.” He has been forced to resign.

Having no discernible political principles allows The Donald great flexibility. Just recently he has pulled dramatic 180° turns on crucial issues like amnesty and Syrian refugees. It also allows him to be a great dealmaker, as he frequently boasts. The question is whether a dealmaker is what we need:
The GOP establishment has its reasons for warming up to Trump while continuing to detest Ted Cruz.
Let’s hear from Trump himself on the people he plans to make deals with:
Debbie Schlussel is right to find Trump’s deal-making prospects “downright scary.” The Trump positions that most appeal to right-wingers have been adopted since last summer. They will be immediately reversed once the pose has served its purpose.

The education system is run by liberals; since September 11, 2001, liberals have been increasingly affectionate toward Islam. It was only a matter of time until public schools started effectively proselytizing on behalf of a religion that calls for the destruction of non-Islamic society:
The parents of a Maryland teenager are suing their daughter’s high school over a world history lesson they claim was little more than Islamic indoctrination.
The Thomas More Law Center filed a lawsuit against La Plata High School on behalf of John and Melissa Wood, claiming the lesson favored a “sugar-coated version of Islam” over other religions and forced their 16-year-old child “to disparage her Christian faith,” according to the law firm.
The parents said the class spent one day on Christianity, followed by two weeks on Islam.
And the 11th grader was “forced to profess and to write out the Shahada in worksheets and quizzes,” the firm said.
“The Shahada is the Islamic Creed, ‘There is no god but Allah, and Muhammad is the messenger of Allah.’ For non-Muslims, reciting the statement is sufficient to convert one to Islam.”
Anyone who recites the shahada and then fails to follow Islam is marked for death as an apostate.
According to the suit, the class was told “the Islamic religion is a fact while Christianity and Judaism are just beliefs,” and were not allowed to opt out of the lesson on the basis of religious beliefs.
So much for that “wall of separation” so beloved by progressives when the topic is Christianity.
Wood was told his daughter would receive a zero if she didn’t complete the assignments.
It gets worse…
Adding insult to injury, the father, a Marine veteran who was deployed in Operation Desert Shield/Desert Storm, was banned from school grounds after he complained, according to the suit.
Clearly some pushback is in order. It would be wonderful if more people were taught the blood-soaked history of Islam. But teaching Islam itself is the business of madrassas, not public schools.

Trump was a supporter of amnesty until he recently pulled a 180 on the issue to secure the nomination. As recently as last summer, even after his presidential campaign had begun, he was still in favor of the so-called “path to citizenship.” This ad provides some insight as to why:
That his supporters believe Trump would be any firmer on immigration than Marco Rubio once in power proves that rules don’t apply to the Trumpster, including the rules of logic.

Again and again we are fed the lie that 97% of scientists are going along with the global warming dogma leftists have been using as a device to achieve higher taxes and more centralized control. Why don’t they claim that 100% of scientists have been bullied and/or bribed into compliance? Because some scientists are sounding off:
Hundreds of scientists sent a letter to lawmakers Thursday warning National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) scientists may have violated federal laws when they published a 2015 study purporting to eliminate the 15-year “hiatus” in global warming from the temperature record.
“We, the undersigned, scientists, engineers, economists and others, who have looked carefully into the effects of carbon dioxide released by human activities, wish to record our support for the efforts of the Committee on Science, Space and Technology to ensure that federal agencies complied with federal guidelines that implemented the Data Quality Act,” some 300 scientists, engineers and other experts wrote to Chairman of the House Science Committee, Texas Republican Rep. Lamar Smith.
“In our opinion… NOAA has failed to observe the OMB [Office of Management and Budget] (and its own) guidelines, established in relation to the Data Quality Act.”
The Data Quality Act requires federal agencies like NOAA to “ensure and maximize the quality, objectivity, utility, and integrity of information, including statistical information.”
What kind of climate criminals signed this letter?
Of the 300 letter signers, 150 had doctorates in a related field. Signers also included: 25 climate or atmospheric scientists, 23 geologists, 18 meteorologists, 51 engineers, 74 physicists, 20 chemists and 12 economists. Additionally, one signer was a Nobel Prize winning physicist and two were astronauts.
The scientific malfeasance is too outrageous to let pass.
The NOAA study in dispute claims the scientists found a solution to the 15-year “pause” in global warming. They “adjusted” the hiatus in warming [in] the temperature record from 1998 to 2012 [so that the] “new analysis exhibits more than twice as much warming as the old analysis at the global scale.”
As climate expert Bob Tisdale and meteorologist Anthony Watts write,
It’s the same story all over again; the adjustments go towards cooling the past and thus increasing the slope of temperature rise.
Their intent and methods are so obvious they’re laughable.
Kudos to scientists with the integrity to stand up for reality in the face of tremendous pressure to endorse fiction.

Maybe there is hope for professional atheist Richard Dawkins. First he admitted that Christianity is a bulwark against the encroaching darkness of Islam. Now he has gotten himself kicked out of a scientific conference for retweeting a countermoonbat video.
Dawkins was scheduled to speak at the Northeast Conference on Science and Skepticism which will take place in New York City in May, but on Thursday organisers issued a statement concerning his participation.
“The NECSS has withdrawn its invitation to Richard Dawkins to participate at NECSS 2016. We have taken this action in response to Dr. Dawkins’ approving re-tweet of a highly offensive video.
“We believe strongly in freedom of speech and freedom to express unpopular, and even offensive, views. However, unnecessarily divisive, counterproductive, and even hateful speech runs contrary to our mission and the environment we wish to foster at NECSS. The sentiments expressed in the video do not represent the values of NECSS or its sponsoring organisations.”
That is, they believe strongly in freedom of speech, except that they don’t, because it is impermissible for anyone to say anything politically incorrect.
Dawkins softened his tweet by writing, “Obviously doesn’t apply to vast majority of feminists, among whom I count myself. But the minority are pernicious.” When conflict erupted anyway, he deleted the tweet altogether. Too late; he has marked himself as a thought criminal. He might as well accept that he has been exiled from the liberal establishment and throw in with the resistance.

KTRH warns listeners that a mural at the multicultural Blue Triangle Community Center in Houston is endangered by climate change and racism. A massive application of taxpayer money is immediately required:
Actually, there was no need to raise public consciousness about this. Normally Sheila Jackson Lee and her friends in Washington throw as much money as could conceivably be needed at projects like this as part of massive omnibus spending bills, then quietly add the cost to the debt for the next generation to pay.

Finally, some encouraging news:
Donald Trump’s lead among Republicans dropped six points in the days leading up to Monday’s Iowa caucuses, the latest IBD/TIPP Poll shows.
Support for Trump fell to 31% among registered Republicans and Republican leaners, down from 34% in the prior IBD/TIPP Poll. Meanwhile, Ted Cruz saw his support climb three points to 21%, the highest number that Cruz has achieved in five months of polling.
This comes after Trump has spent several days launching sharp attacks at Cruz, challenging his eligibility to serve as president, and attacking his character.
As for the delusional belief that Trump will draw votes away from Democrats,
While Trump’s attacks didn’t move the needle among conservatives, his support among moderates fell from 39% to 24%, while Cruz’s jumped from 5% to 18%.
Trump’s campaign is based on hype, anger, lies, and nonsense. It is only a matter of time until this impending train wreck goes off the rails. The question is whether that will happen before or after the nomination is secured.

Nano claims she realised she was a cat when she was 16 years old, and has adopted feline mannerisms since.
The 20-year-old has opened up about her life as a puss, describing how she has a superior sense of hearing and sight which allows her to hunt mice in the dark. …
The young woman shows off her cat characteristics by wearing fake ears and an artificial tail. She communicates by meowing. …
The cat woman wears a pair of pink fluffy paws with which to groom herself, and feels especially like doing so when she is in contact with water.
When asked if she was born as the wrong species, she said: “Yes, born in the wrong species.”
Nano prefers to crawl around on her hands and knees, and paws at windows when she wants to go outside. …
“It’s also obvious that I’m a cat when I start purring and meowing,” she explains. “And walking around on four legs and stuff like that.”
In the following video, Miss Nano definitively proves that she is in fact a cat:
Kudos to her psychologist for telling her she will grow out of it. In contrast, children prodded into suffering from “gender dysphoria” are encouraged in their delusions, and often subjected to physical deformation with hormone treatments in order to support them.

Not feeling the Bern? You will if this unhinged Marxist is elected:
Bernie Sanders’ plan to raise taxes by $13.6 trillion over the next decade would have a devastating effect on the economy, according to a detailed analysis released on Thursday by the Tax Foundation.
The analysis concludes his myriad tax hikes would cut GDP growth by 9.5%, reduce the nation’s capital stock by 18.6% and result in 6 million fewer full-time equivalent jobs.
“Sanders’ plan would significantly increase marginal tax rates on capital and labor income,” authors Alan Cole and Scott Greenberg say, “which would result in a substantial reduction of the size of the U.S. economy in the long run.”
Our standard of living will continue to decline, and even fewer of us will be able to find jobs. But then, what do we want jobs for when Uncle Bernie will hand out everything he thinks we need for free?

Third-party insurgencies from within threaten to reduce both major parties to civil war. But there is a large difference between them. In the GOP, the fight is over the basic direction of the party. Among Democrats, the direction has been agreed upon; the only argument is over tactics.
Whereas conservatives backing Cruz, Paul, or Carson long to restore traditional American precepts such as limited government, individual liberty, property rights, and free markets, Trump’s supporters want a strong man who promises he can keep the jobs in and foreigners out if given enough power. The contrast is fundamental. As for establishment candidates who represent the status quo (Bush, Kasich, Christie), they are irrelevant bystanders.
As Daniel Greenfield observes, the conflict among Democrats is less fundamental, but the stakes are still high:
Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders are … both leftist radicals with degrees in political science who held back some of their more radical ideas to pursue political office. In the two years that they served together in the Senate, they voted the same way 93 percent of the time. …
The real struggle isn’t over beliefs, but over tactics.
The dispute is over “how fast and how hard to move the country toward the left” and “what Americans will put up with right here and now.”
ObamaCare provides an example of how this would be reflected in policy:
Hillary Clinton and her supporters want to stabilize ObamaCare and then use its success to advance to Single Payer while Bernie Sanders and his supporters want to use ObamaCare’s failure to move on to Single Payer.
The question is whether to keep boiling the frog relatively slowly, or to turn the burner all the way up and risk the frog jumping out. The base leans toward the latter.
When Bernie Sanders shrieks about revolution, he is speaking in a political code that the left understands very well. It’s the same old debate between working within the system and radical destructive change now. …
The struggle is a symptom of a left that has tasted American blood and is losing control. The left has hijacked the Democratic Party and has amassed vast institutional power in the government, the educracy and the non-profit sector. It has even built up a great deal of power in the corporate sector.
Many of its activists and funders see few reasons not to push for the endgame right now.
If Hillary can hold off Sanders and stay out of jail, it will only slow down the revolution. The only hope for America to survive as America is for conservatives to overcome the threat from Trump and run a candidate capable of defeating the Democrats (due to his sky-high unfavorable stats, Trump is not). That’s up to us.
