Food Stamp Rolls to Grow Through 2014, CBO Says

The Congressional Budget Office said Thursday that 45 million people in 2011 received Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program benefits, a 70% increase from 2007. It said the number of people receiving the benefits, commonly known as food stamps, would continue growing until 2014.
And when Glenn Beck brought up Cloward-Piven, the idea of a deliberately orchestrated crisis, just like Democrats in California were caught actively planning, some just laughed at him.
Musician and gun-rights advocate Ted Nugent said on Thursday he had a positive meeting with U.S. Secret Service agents investigating his recent criticism of President Barack Obama, and the agency confirmed the issue had been resolved.

OK so it doesn’t like the link to the story so I’m going to have to find another one… how about this one:

California School Board Votes To Fire Science Teacher Who Moonlighted in “Home Movies”.

I don’t see why they had to fire her. By doing it they probably opened themselves up to a heck of a lawsuit.
I wonder if the left or the right were the ones pushing to can her.

I mean, we have to put up with this nonsense:

For the last time he is not a man. He’s a woman pretending to be a man. We get that nonsense shoved into our faces & down our throats, but let a teacher make a few extra bucks on the side having heterosexual contact and filming it and all of a sudden no, we can’t have that!

I guess that makes it “more potent”. Power of the pyramid and all that nonsense.

SO anyway, researching “Democratic Bubbleator” I came up with this quote, from a far left source no less:

The city of Seattle may be the most “Democratic” but also the most ruthless at displacing the poor out of the city via gentrification.

And you know a moonbat has been smoking the wrong sort of stuff for way too long when he writes:

Seattle is viewed as “left coast liberal” by national standards, which shows how far right the country as a whole has moved.

Ah, so the country has moved TO THE RIGHT?

    Really?

  • Bob Roberts

Oh, and the one thing I hope that guy I quoted twice in my last post got right is this:

It seems that I’m a member of an endangered species, nationally and even in Seattle.

With any luck he’s correct. It’s up to us to ensure he winds up correct, in fact.

Best take on the GSA scandal I’ve seen to date! Only way it could have been better would have been to have Obama, Reid, Pelosi and perhaps a few other key Democrats delivering the one word punchline!

On Keystone even Democrats abandoning Obama like rats leaving a sinking ship! And I think the “rat” representation is really pretty accurate.

The way things are going we’ll wind up with a unanimous defeat of Obama in the House on another key issue. Now if we can only knock some sense into the Senate OR clean up THAT house in 2012.

Once again MSNBC is revealed as the real FAUX NEWS NETWORK! Trying to link the Passion of St. Skittles with the Koch brothers. How ignorant do they think their base is? And, sadly, how correct they apparently are!

  • Bob Roberts

Speaking of St. Skittles – HOODIE ALERT! Oregon cops are seeking the public’s help in identifying members of a hoodie-clad “flash mob” that ransacked a Nordstrom in Portland Friday evening.

According to cops, the group arrived at the store in the Lloyd Center mall and helped themselves to clothing, including six North Face jackets valued at $550 (the hot items were stuffed into bags the suspects carried into the store).

Police yesterday released the below surveillance video of the “flash mob” members, who investigators described as “10 African American male teens” who were “all wearing hats and hoodies with their faces covered.”

Apparently it’s not so far-fetched to “profile” a hoodie-wearing punk as potentially being up to no good.

    Progressive Education Malpractice

The sorry state of education in America has been documented ad nauseum in this space as have numerous stories of male and female teachers who have sexually violated underaged students. Other less sensational but almost equally disturbing activities are going on in Amerca’s schools and also demand attention.

Many public schools and school districts have been taken over by so-called progressives who have undermined the primary purposes of education by focusing on creating a false sense of self-esteem in students, accenting diversity and multiculturalism over teaching, and hiring liberal nicompoops.

The results have been failing schools, failing students, and declining standards and the situation is getting worse.

Out on the Left Coast, that bastion of unreconstructed liberalism, the Los Angeles United School District, where dropout rates average 20.3%, is considering a smoke and mirrors change in graduation requirements. (http://cbsloc.al/HZx3Kv)

Under the proposed changes, by 2016 all LA public high school students would be required to take and complete “advanced courses” including a third year of math plus two years of a foreign language with a minimum grade of “C” if they want to graduate and to prepare them for college-level courses, all admirable new standards but flawed even if they are implemented as proposed.

The fly in the education ointment is that under the plan, high schoolers would only be required to take 170 education units instead of the current 230 thereby reducing their course load by a whopping 26%.

The effective consequence of the innovations is that kids will learn significantly less and taxpayers will get less bang for their tax bucks while the LAUFSD can boast it is modernizing curriculum and discouraging dropouts.

The probabilities are that course standards will be lowered to assure students attain the coveted “C” grade and the dropout rate won’t be measurably reduced since failing, semi-literate kids still won’t be able to meet any challenging standards.

Meanwhile, Virginia music teacher Jean Flaherty is making a progressive stand for diversity and against old-fashioned, non-politically correct values and beliefs. Ms. Flaherty has taken it upon herself to delete God. . . (Read more at http://www.genelalor.com/blog1/?p=21932.)

WHICH PARTY CARES ABOUT YOUR CHILDREN’S FUTURE? Sadly it’s a bit of a trick question – a proper question is “Which party obviously cares less about your childrens’ future” as both are not doing their job to help assure it.

But, by far, the Democrats are doing the most damage the quickest.

Ah would would life possibly be like without a moonbat Kennedy to liven things up?

    One of several “best parts:

Here I have a modest suggestion. If Representative Kennedy knows a way to go out and produce another barrel of oil somewhere in the world for $11 a barrel, he would do a world of good if he would actually go out and do it himself, as opposed to simply asserting confidently in the pages of the New York Times that it can be done. People with far more modest fortunes than Kennedy inherited are out there using their resources to try to bring more of the physical product out of the ground.

And many, many more would be attempting the feat if it were remotely possible to produce a new barrel of oil for anywhere close to $11.

If you want to prove me wrong, Mr. Kennedy, then don’t talk about how easy it is to produce more oil– just go do it.

Yeah the video is tired at this point, definitely jumped the shark, but the new take on it is HILARIOUS! Say what you will about Hitler, at least he never ate pets! And if you disagree with me then you, sir, are WORSE THAN HITLER!

Who are two of the greatest “journalists” of our day?

    Glenn Beck and Andrew Breibart.

Why is Beck a journalist? Because Beck is actually trying to uncover the truth. He wants to understand who the administration is in DC, figure out where they want to take us, and then he puts on his editorial hat and gives his opinions about their actions.

That, IMHO, is what a journalist is supposed to do.

Obama is in deep, deep trouble. “In a poker game, this would be called a ‘tell,’ ” said Steve Schmidt, who managed Republican John McCain’s presidential bid in 2008. “It’s a signal about what the campaign is going to be. From the perspective of the Obama campaign, they’re trying to have a debate about things other than the president’s economic record.”

The strategy of attacking Mr. Bush worked well for Mr. Obama in 2008, but Republicans said that by reaching for this “blame Bush” tactic again, the president is acknowledging implicitly that he has failed to improve the economy during his term.

“President Obama’s re-election strategy is clear — he doesn’t have a record to run on, so he’s going to attack his opponent with small things and point fingers at everyone but himself for his failure to turn the economy around,” said Kirsten Kukowski, a spokeswoman for the Republican National Committee. “As he said in 2008, candidates that don’t have records to run on talk about small things.”

    THIS PART BEARS REPEATING:

The strategy of attacking Mr. Bush worked well for Mr. Obama in 2008, but Republicans said that by reaching for this “blame Bush” tactic again, the president is acknowledging implicitly that he has failed to improve the economy during his term.

  • Bob Roberts

A New York Times/CBS News poll released Thursday didn’t ask voters about blame for the economy, but whether they thought an Obama re-election would improve their financial situations. Thirty-eight percent said it would have no effect; 33 percent said it would make their situations worse. Only 26 percent said a second Obama term would improve their economic situations.

A Quinnipiac University poll released Thursday showed that 56 percent of respondents disapprove of Mr. Obama’s handling of the economy, and 38 percent approved. The split among independents was especially wide, with 67 percent disapproving of the president’s job performance on the economy and 28 percent approving.

Mr. Schmidt said the Obama campaign’s strategy will play well with some Democrats who still harbor “deep antipathy” toward the Bush administration, but he thinks it won’t win over the independent voters who will decide the election.

“I don’t think the people who are in the dab-smack center of the electorate, the 6 percent of the electorate that’s going to determine its outcome, are going to be animated in their vote by looking backwards,” Mr. Schmidt said. “That’s a fundamental, structural problem for Obama, because it’s difficult to run a backwards, finger-pointing campaign when your initial campaign that launched your presidency was about hope and change for the future.”

  • Bob Roberts

When moonbats run rampant, some eventually snap under the resulting pressure. Try as they might, trolls simply cannot successfully present people like Breivik as “typical” of the right wing as he clearly is the exception, not the rule, and would actually be more at home among the “occupy” morons than among the Tea Party.

Before Breivik began his account of what happened on Utoya, he warned the courtroom that people should consider leaving because much of what he was about to say was “horrendous”. He wasn’t wrong. In 90 minutes of uninterrupted testimony, the 33-year-old described the island massacre from the moment he tricked his way on to the ferry over, dressed as a policeman, to when he was finally arrested.

Few people left the courtroom as he gave evidence, but there were tears in the eyes of many listening to his account. Lawyers bit their lips. The parents of some of the children killed held each other tight. Experienced journalists said they were finding it difficult to keep it together and that they had never heard anything as terrible. The 33-year-old described shooting teenagers who were paralysed with fear, taking shots at others “playing dead” on the floor when he could tell they were still alive. With dozens already dead, he stalked the island in search of “the sort of places I would hide” and shot dead children he spotted trying to make themselves invisible, pressing themselves up against a cliff.
    —————-
While some will say I’m “making an excuse” or trying to “shift blame”, I am not. He alone is responsible for the decisions he made and the actions he took.

However, things do not occur in a vacuum. We live in a cause & effect universe. He was indeed led to this behavior by creeping islamo-fascism and his concerns that someone had to stand up and do something. Where he went wrong was what he chose to do & how he chose to do it. But it wasn’t like he just got up one day and decided to become a demented mass murderer.

    WE MUST BE CAREFUL

While I would love to see a viable third party alternative to Romney, I can’t see it becoming a reality. Instead I can see a dangerous split which allows Obama to snatch victory from the jaws of certain defeat. Think Bush-Perot-Clinton. A third party candidate likely will help Obama steal the election so, as much as I’d like to see them rise and eventually abolish Democrats and Republicans (the latter if they don’t act quick to clean up their act) I am not keen on a weak third party candidate this election unless it’s an Obama alternative, not a Romney one.

George Zimmerman surprised a Florida court today by taking the stand and apologizing to the parents of Trayvon Martin, who were sitting in the courtroom during Zimmerman’s bond hearing.

“I am sorry for the loss of your son. I did not know how old he was. I thought he was a little bit older than I was,” Zimmerman said addressing Martin’s family directly.

And isn’t modern technology wonderful? GPS and other data from the iphone used to take the picture of Zimmerman’s head absolutely confirms the time & place of the photo confirming that Martin launched a vicious, murderous attack on Zimmerman.

And, of course, they’re still spreading propaganda, lies, fiction:

In police surveillance video obtained last month by ABC News, Zimmerman’s wounds are not apparent, and there were no bandages on his head.

Zimmerman was not admitted to a hospital or given stitches the night of the incident.
    ——————
Didn’t ABC (or someone) enhance stills from the video and admit there were CLEARLY wounds on the back of Zimmerman’s head? Haven’t MULTIPLE people confirmed that Zimmerman did go seek further medical care and had bandages on his head, front and back, by the next morning?

The claim he did not seek treatment is patently false:

“His face was swollen quite a bit,” Robert Zimmerman said. “There was a protective cover over his nose, his lip was cut and there were two vertical gashes on the back of his head.”

In a dramatic moment during the hearing, a detective, under questioning from O’Mara, admitted that it has no clear evidence that Zimmerman attacked Trayvon Martin first.

Zimmerman’s family testified that he should be granted bail because, they said, he is not a violent person.

“He’s absolutely not a violent person or a threat to the community,” said Shellie Zimmerman, who is a nursing student.

More details emerge about Zimmerman’s past:

Zimmerman had seen two men in civilian clothes shoving his friend against a wall and that the officers never identified themselves as police.

And as far as the allegations between him & his former fiancee:

Shellie Zimmerman testified that her husband was defending himself after the woman attacked him and drew blood. She said that Zimmerman got an injunction against the woman.

REPORTED ON THE NEWS AT THIS TIME: It turns out the “investigators” (and I use that term in the loosest possible sense) in the case didn’t feel it was important enough to interview Zimmerman as part of their evidence gathering. Apparently they weren’t interested in finding out what really happened from the only person who knows.

  • Bob Roberts

Malice and depraved indifference, no statement of probable cause, no intent to kill… multiple necessary elements to support 2nd degree murder which are absent from the affidavit and apparently unsupported by any evidence, other than perhaps whatever some intend to manufacture in this case.

They also just had the one witness who actually saw the scuffle, in an audio sound bite, state, on air, that Martin was on top, Zimmerman was on the bottom being viciously beaten while calling for help.

    http://www.foxnews.com/scitech/2012/04/20/power-physics-didnt-help-with-200-traffic-ticket/
Basically brainiac tried to fight a ticket with a college paper on the physics of the incident, and won.
“My argument in the court went as follows: that what he saw would be easily confused by the angle of speed of this hypothetical object that failed to stop at the stop sign. And therefore, what he saw did not properly reflect reality, which was completely different,”
Summarized: the cop did not see what he thought he saw due to a bad angle & distance.
The judges response was basically that she did not dismiss the charge because of the physics (which went way over her head). The judge said “The ruling was not based on his physics explanation,” Riley said. “It was based on the officer’s view … The officer, wasn’t close enough to the intersection to have a good view.”
Duh. That is what the smart guy said.
    Sometimes educated is not smart.

    “National Security Agency whistleblower

William Binney reveals he believes domestic surveillance has become more expansive under President Obama than President George W. Bush. He estimates the NSA has assembled 20 trillion “transactions” — phone calls, emails and other forms of data — from Americans. This likely includes copies of almost all of the emails sent and received from most people living in the United States”.

I’ve decided, in general, to ignore his ignorance. Now occasionally, as in a nearby thread where St. Skittles was discussed again and he once again falsely accused us of engaging in trial by blog, referring to our comments about how no trial is appropriate, I did respond and will watch him squirm with his usual stupidity. It’s amazing how virtually everything he says reflects back badly on him. But, in general, I’m just going to ignore his ignorance as I stated because, despite how enjoyable it has been to make him dance, it really has become more boring than funny and others have been making valid complaints about us encouraging his idiocy.

    lao’s lunacy lurks

I love how idiots who scream NO TRIAL IS APPROPRIATE, NO TRIAL IS NECESSARY, think it means anything in the real world.

Guess what? Charges have been laid. That’s the facts. That’s the reality.

    ——————–

Bob Roberts says: April 21, 2012 at 8:18 am

    Three words, lao:

    Salem Witch Trials.
    —————————
Our dear village idiot seems to think that the laying of charges is somehow proof of guilt, apparently.

    Or that charges are appropriate.

He would likely be the first to point out, in a death penalty discussion, that innocent people are often accused, tried and convicted and in fact modern techniques, primarily using DNA analysis, occasionally causes death row residents to be released.

This is one of the key things I feel it is critical to note about lao and his ilk: INCONSISTENCY. If this were, for instance, a black that had killed a white, instead of a Hispanic that killed a black right at a time Obama desperately needs a race war, I seriously doubt lao would be taking the position that he has.

In any case, lao acts as if the existing charges, based on a probable cause affidavit which any sensible court would have laughed right out of court but for the fact, in this case, that would have triggered Obama’s race war, are somehow appropriate.

I remind him that people were falsely accused of being witches, tried for it and eventually put to death.

That didn’t make it true. That didn’t make it appropriate.

So we return to the original, compelling argument:

THERE IS NO EVIDENCE SUGGESTING THAT A CHARGE OF MURDER 2 IS APPROPRIATE. THE CHARGING DOCUMENT IS A JOKE, WIDELY EXPOSED AS FAILING TO INCLUDE VITAL, REQUIRED INFORMATION EXONERATING ZIMMERMAN AND CLEARLY INCLUDING FALSE, MALICIOUS AND MISLEADING INFORMATION.

The fact such a charge was still manufactured does not change those facts. I can excuse the court for not throwing this out immediately due to the obvious fact that would touch off the race wars Obama and his ilk are determined to ignite. Between “occupy” and “The Passion of St. Skittles” plus whatever other mischief the Democrats can cook up before November, I suppose there is still an even or better chance Obama will steal the coming election.

  • Bob Roberts

    A note on lao’s tactics:

He says: You are engaging in trial by blog.

We remind him: We are the ones saying no trial is necessary

He avoids the issue, tries to change the subject because we’ve caught him in another lie and says: And yet charges have been laid.

That charges have been laid is not the discussion, lao.

The discussion is you keep accusing us of engaging in a trial we’ve stated over and over is not necessary. Just because some feel, to avoid nationwide race riots, they’re going to have one anyway does not change these two facts:

    1) You keep accusing us of engaging in a trial by blog

    2) We keep pointing out no trial is necessary.

Stan, you’re using polysyllabic words again. I know, I make the same mistake when dealing with lao. Remember, always speak to the level of your audience.

Try “Goo goo, ga ga”. Maybe lao will get that.

  • Bob Roberts

You know the sad thing. I realize now that those calling for lao to be banned are in fact correct: For every time he posts, at least for those who read his nonsense, admittedly including me, we wind up dumber for it.

I looked up idiot in the dictionary. No, I didn’t find a picture of lao there. I found the definition of idiot, which he clearly fits to a “T”.

  • lao

    bobby’s self-parody is priceless.

He posts five threads demonstrating how he’s ignoring me.

  • lao

er make that five comments…although, as I scroll up, I fully expect to find more “ignoring” in other threads.

  • Jester

Bob, please stop feeding the troll.

  • Bob Roberts

Saturday is KICK THE TROLL day. I ignore him the other days of the week. I proposed we all ignore him but not everyone signed up so, since he’s still coming around, on Saturdays, when I feel like it, I’m going to slap the crap out of him.

  • Bob Roberts

And note, Jester, lao is lying again. I was ignoring him. I wasn’t talking to him. My response was to Stan in Texas, not to him. Now my response is to you. Although I did post, on one thread then, since the subject of him came up, on another perhaps, about a comment of his where he once again lied and accused us of engaging in trial by blog, still not understanding we are the ones saying no trial is appropriate. The appropriate action was taken immediately after the incident when no charges were filed and Zimmerman was set free because it is a clear case of self-defense against a murderous gangsta wannabe who basically got what he had coming to him.

As of today, after being asked over and over, lao still can’t seem to come up with who it is we’re putting on “trial by blog”. Simple things like that are way beyond his competency and indeed his comprehension levels.

  • Bob Roberts

Apparently lao’s reading comprehension skills have regressed even further, for he missed this @ 8:31 though clearly he saw the comment as he talks about it:

I’ve decided, in general, to ignore his ignorance. I finally got a response from him on the question of who it is we were putting on “trial by blog” – HE CLAIMS WE’RE PUTTING ZIMMERMAN ON TRIAL! I guess he missed our repeated statements Zimmerman should go free, does not deserve to be tried, should not be on trial. Why would we try him if we feel that way?

Unfortunately, as I’ve been pointing out, lao’s reading comprehension skills are minimal AND his narcissistic megalomania makes him believe every post is either to him, about him or both, apparently. He doesn’t quite comprehend that we can ignore him AND still talk among ourselves about him.

    Also see:

Yes, and in each of those threads I was talking to others, having a conversation about others. Now the topic(s) discussed may have included lao, but you will notice I was talking ABOUT him in response to what others said, not to him.

Which, of course, DRIVES HIM NUTS because when he is ignored, as I was ignoring him, he goes crazy:

And he listed a bunch of comments, as noted, where I was ignoring him. Then he ran away to the corner and cried and, when he noticed I was still ignoring him and his comments, he realized it was time to stop making an idiot of himself by denying it and that was the last we heard of him on this thread. Will he come back and try to lie yet again? I know he’s been lying on other threads, but he’s curiously absent from this one even though he claims to know how to come back and check it.
