We have been studying Washington politics and Congress for more than 40 years, and never have we seen them this dysfunctional. In our past writings, we have criticized both parties when we believed it was warranted. Today, however, we have no choice but to acknowledge that the core of the problem lies with the Republican Party.
The GOP has become an insurgent outlier in American politics. It is ideologically extreme; scornful of compromise; unmoved by conventional understanding of facts, evidence and science; and dismissive of the legitimacy of its political opposition.
The American Enterprise Institute for Public Policy Research (AEI) is a conservative think tank founded in 1943. Its stated mission is “to defend the principles and improve the institutions of American freedom and democratic capitalism—limited government, private enterprise, individual liberty and responsibility, vigilant and effective defense and foreign policies, political accountability, and open debate.
Have any of you normal folks ever read/heard about a liberal who wasn’t totally delusional?
Neither have I.
They are some REALLY sick puppies who will bend reality – even history – to fit their sick agenda. That is fact that is readily denied by delusional minds.
They even call for the killing of people who don’t agree with them. Sick puppies, sick, sick, sick puppies.
“A study of 829 companies over 31 years showed that diversity training had “no positive effects in the average workplace”… In firms where training is mandatory or emphasizes the threat of lawsuits, training actually has negative effects”
And here’s a shocker: “When people divide into categories to illustrate the idea of diversity, it reinforces the idea of the categories.”
Let’s just say it: The Republicans are the problem.
We have been studying Washington politics and Congress for more than 40 years, and never have we seen them this dysfunctional….
___________
This is a typical leftist approach. Find a quote from someone you believe will be accepted as “credible” or “conservative” and hope that people will ignore the underlying premise.
Here’s the deal, Lao. I approve of republicans in congress being obstructive, or dysfunctional.
What did the democrats do when they were in complete control of both houses of congress, as well as the presidency? We have them to thank for the Stimulus Bill, Dodd Frank “Financial Reform” bill, budget deficits of over a trillion dollars a year with absolutely no effort to ever change that, and zero effort to actually pass a budget in 2009. And it doesn’t matter that the house has passed a budget the last two years (now that republicans are in charge of that body), and the senate refuses to even consider the matter.
The only thing that democrats know is to spend more money, tax more, and regulate more. Since I favor slowing down all three (since I hate little children and favor dirty air and water, and want to give millionaires a bread), a dysfunctional congress is a damn sight better than the first two years of the Obama administration, with the democrats completely in charge.
Yeah…it’s all the republicans’ fault, and all the bums sitting in their mommy’s basements agree completely.
Lao, the tear stains from your post are making a mess down here
Damn straight the Dems would love a heaping dose of monolithic thought about now
For all to tune into the alphabet soup networks, read the Post, and tune out reality.
To believe this burning wreck of an economy is still “George Bush’s fault”
That we would have FULL employment, if EVERYBODY actually searching for a job could just be placed in the “given up” category.
That those rising prices are merely the fault of evil corporations, and not inflationary tactics.
That nation building is so successful, Afghanistan may as well be a new Disney World, and never mind the authoritarianism of the Muslim Brotherhood, because it’s NOT the authoritarianism of Gaddafi

Interesting enough, the maniac was reported as having shouted, “You killed my people.” Perhaps a racial motive is at work here.
The Federal reserve and World bank have been run by the same group for scores of decades.POTUS is just a face on tv.No GB didn’t do it all,but he set(allowed) the pattern.
It’s just continuance of business as usual.
The next election matters for naught.
It didn’t take me 40 years of studying to figure out that the our government is screwed up. Guess who screwed it up. Politicians on both sides love to go to Washington, live large, create empires of power and play house with our money.
Well yes, we need all those guns to shoot all those porch monkies. Just ask Camille Williams of the Peace in the Hood movement. She knows all about the NRA. The voices in her head have been coaching her. [voices on loan from lao]
According to court documents, Keller had been preparing for “the end of the world” and had stockpiled weapons and food in the woods. He was also described by people who knew him as a “survivalist” with a “distaste for authority.”
Keller owned handguns, rifles, silencers and body armor, one of his colleagues at an IT firm told detectives.
Photos of the bunker “don’t do it justice,” SWAT officers told sheriff’s spokeswoman Sgt. Cindi West.
“They said the fort appears to be amazingly fortified,” she said.
It was believed that Keller had been building the bunker for some eight years. West said that police managed to locate the well-hidden structure from photographs found in his home.

___________
The Trolley Square Massacre in Salt Lake was stopped by an armed civilian engaging the shooter before he could use up all his ammo. Interesting that his yell of “Praise God” or something like that was completely hushed up, since the US wasn’t prepared for another terrorist attack.
Leftists like Lao don’t understand that bad people with guns are stopped by good people with guns. They would rather blame the tool, rather than the person using the tool.
Gee, an idiot leftist says idiot leftist things in an idiot leftist rag and some idiot leftist troll cuts & pastes it here and we’re just supposed to nod OUR heads, like the idiot leftists do, and believe it?
Fortunately, unlike our idiot leftist troll, some of us can engage in critical thinking RE what was said:
The GOP has become an insurgent outlier in American politics.
Poll after poll suggests exactly the opposite – it is the DEMOCRATS who are the insurgent outliers. Emphasis on the “LIER” (i.e. LIAR) part. If you don’t believe me, just drive by any “occupy” rally this spring or summer. I suggest you don’t stop because they’re often full of sewage, filth and disease.
Now this next bit is a perfect description… OF DEMOCRATS:
It is ideologically extreme;
Whether it’s class warfare, “climate change”, abortion, guns or the proper role of government, it is the DEMOCRATS who are ideologically extreme.
scornful of compromise;
In fact it’s the DEMOCRATS who, time after time, not only lock Republicans out of negotiations on upcoming legislation, they also shut down debate in the Congress and attempt to create a false narrative in hopes of further stifling debate and compromise.
unmoved by conventional understanding of facts, evidence and science;
“Climate change” is perhaps the best example of how this is more true of the left, of Democrats, though there are literally billions of other good examples as well. If their arguments were strong on facts, evidence, truth, logic and science they wouldn’t be forced to use emotion to make people ignore those aspects of their arguments, which are generally sadly & completely lacking!
and dismissive of the legitimacy of its political opposition.
On the contrary, there sadly is a “lowest common denominator” lurking out there, available to riot on command whenever a “white hispanic” engages in legitimate self-defense and winds up on trial for it.
Yes, once again, lao plumbs the deepest depths of his own stupidity by posting this nonsense! Will he ever learn?
Anyway, a word on the authors of this piece and their associations:
Thomas E. Mann is affiliated with the Brookings Institute.
Indeed the Brookings Instutute was an important instrument, which explains why the left is trying to invade, discredit and destroy it with nonsense like this bit by Thomas E. Mann.
NOTE the Brookings Instutute CLAIMS to be independent and non-partisan. If that’s true, what is this idiot doing slamming the Republicans? That article is about as partisan as you can get! Of course, depiste the fact they did good things in the past, they also did bad: They were a prime force in the creation of the U.N., for instance, and we know what a disaster that organization is today.
Who, besides lao, describes them as “conservative or moderate/centerist? Pretty much NO ONE: They are described as liberal by The New York Times, by The Washington Post, by The Los Angeles Times and in fact Time Magazine went so far as to call them “the nation’s pre-eminent liberal think tank”. Now there are a few left-leaning groups that describe them as “center-left” or “centerist” but, of course, that’s from a far-left perspective.
Indeed, though, a few straight-thinking conservatives have managed, despite attempts by the left to silence them, to retain their positions at Brookings, so all hope is not lost.
Norman J. Ornstein’s claim to fame is he CLAIMS to be a centerist. His participation, along with Mann, in things such as the Election Reform project, the fact he was a key player in writing the joke that is the McCain-Feingold Act (faux “election reform”) shows what a joke this guy and his ideas/efforts are!
And lao’s source is the Washington Post! Need I say more?

Somewhere in here lao is certain to forget that it is KICK THE TROLL day and will make some big whiney fuss about how I’m not ignoring him.
IT IS KICK THE TROLL DAY, lao! ON Saturdays I will address you directly and refute your nonsense. On other days I may do it if/when appropriate, but in general I’m just not talking to you every other day of the week (though that isn’t saying I won’t talk ABOUT you occasionally, I’ll just basically ignore YOU, because we all know how upset you are when people won’t pay any attention to & respond directly to the nonsense and repeated lies you post here) because, frankly, you really aren’t worth it and talking directly TO you seems to give you some belief that you & your opinions matter.

SWAT teams surround bunker where Seattle ‘survivalist’ wanted in killings of wife and daughter is thought to be hiding
————-
NOTE this is happening in MOONBAT INFESTED SEATTLE and lao, apparently because guns are involved, is pitching it falsely as an example of a right-winger gone made.
Just like he did when some NATIONAL SOCIALIST sympathizer took a gun and killed a bunch of innocents in Europe a while back.
Of course, lao very conveniently forgets the definition of “socialist” whenever it suits him.
Hasn’t he learned, what with all the LEFTISTS and DEMOCRATS (like Zimmerman, a DEMOCRAT) who wind up in the news, from jumping to the usually FALSE same conclusions, only to find that it’s generally LEFT WING “LIBERAL” MOONBATS that snap and wind up in the news like this?
What lao is forgetting is that Seattle is so far left that you can be way to the right of the general population there and still be way left of center!
It will be funny when Keller turns out to be an Obama supporter who frequents “occupy” gatherings.

This Chart Vindicates The Obama Economic Recovery
Now the first thing to note is that the US has recovered WAY better than either the Eurozone or the UK.
yeahRITE! Just because our double dip recession isn’t in full gear, just because our anemic growth isn’t as bad as what’s happening in Europe, that somehow translates to “recovery”?
GUESS AGAIN!
U.S. Growth plunges! U.S. economic growth cooled in the first quarter as businesses cut back on investment and restocked shelves at a moderate pace, but stronger demand for automobiles softened the blow.
NOTE that demand is NOT for the Government Motors “volt”.
Business spending fell for the first time since the fourth quarter of 2009, with investment in equipment and software rising at its slowest pace since the recession ended.
U.S. Homeownership Hits Decade LowThe 62% of Americans who say they own their own home marks a new low since Gallup began tracking self-reported homeownership in 2001.
Record-Low 53% of Americans Say Their Home’s Value Has Increased
Only a paid troll would spin this as good news of a recovery.
Although there are signs that, once Obama is out of office, things will improve and that is the one “silver lining” that remains intact.

So if we don’t see any posts from lao for a while, we all know why!
New Western sanctions seek to prevent other countries from importing Iran’s crude oil.
India has agreed to pay the price of crude oil it imports from Iran in gold, which makes it the first country to drop the US dollar for purchasing the Iranian oil.
According to a report published by DEBKAfile news website, unnamed sources have stressed that China is also expected to follow suit.
India and China take about one million barrels per day (bpd), or 40 percent of Iran’s total exports of 2.5 million bpd and both of them have huge reserves of gold.
As the world’s reserve currency, if one wanted to buy oil anywhere in the world, you would have to make that purchase using US dollars. But apparently that is about to come to an end. If countries start buying oil with gold, rather than dollars, suddenly the Federal Reserve’s plan of printing dollars without end suddenly brings about the inevitable consequences….dollar are worth less, and everything else in worth more. A classical economist would call that “inflation.” Oil from the middle east will suddenly start being priced in barrels per ounce of gold, rather than dollars per barrel.
US Treasury Secretary Tim Geithner shocked global markets by revealing that Washington is “quite open” to Chinese proposals for the gradual development of a global reserve currency run by the International Monetary Fund.
The dollar plunged instantly against the euro, yen, and sterling as the comments flashed across trading screens. David Bloom, currency chief at HSBC, said the apparent policy shift amounts to an earthquake in geo-finance.
Oh yes, Obama has done a great job protecting the dollar and adding economic prosperity to the US. Wonder why Lao doesn’t compare the US and Canada when it comes to comments about paying down the debt and the resulting effects upon the economy?
Astronomers have discovered their “holy grail” – a planet capable of supporting life outside our solar system.

How long will we tolerate Obama’s campaigning on our dime?
Air Force One costs about $170,000 per hour that the president travels. Let’s say the average “visit” is two hours away where Obama gives a speech, then has a fundraising activity, and then goes home. He has cost us $700,000 or more to attend his event. Calling it something other than campaigning doesn’t make it so.
As an example of bobby’s ignorance and stupidity, this remark is hard to beat.
bobby sez: What lao is forgetting is that Seattle is so far left that you can be way to the right of the general population there and still be way left of center!
bobby, of course, will be stupid enough to claim that I’m trying to implicate the Seattle Tea Party Patriots as being connected with the survivalist..
Wrong.
I’m simply pointing out what anyone with brains completely understands. It doesn’t matter where you live, there are people on ALL sides of the political spectrum living there too.
What the survivalist’s actual politics may turn out to be remains to be seen.
Actually, calling him a “survivalist”, is a mistake. The flake is reported to be dead.

sammy @1:12 sez: Your (sic) attempting to paint “survivalists” as violent people. Your purpose in posting this article is to imply that survivalists=right wing conservative politics.
sammy, I provided information about ONE person and that “survivalist” certainly appears to have been violent. The dead man, Keller, is accused of murdering his wife and daughter and setting fire to the house to cover up the crime.
Keller was called a “survivalist” and that seems reasonable, since he holed up in a bunker he built and fortified, apparently over the last eight years.
The police regarded Keller as highly dangerous.
@11:18 I wrote: What the survivalist’s actual politics may turn out to be remains to be seen.
Do try to avoid claiming I “imply” something, when I have made a statement that directly refutes it.
There are many truisms in life–realities that need no further explanations or elaborations to be understood. For example, we all agree that ducks quack and dogs bark and cats retain humans only as pets.
There are also truisms in the entertainment and political worlds that reasonable people fully grasp as almost biblical truth. For example, we know that most entertainers hail from the liberal side of the political spectrum and that most politicians lie. Ok, to be generous, pols tend to dissemble.
Anyone who expects Dirty Dave Letterman to be objective in his political “humor” has to be very confused when Letterman inaccurately and consistently mocks Republican presidential hopeful Mitt Romney for being cruel to the family dog while never making even a passing, comical reference to Barack Hussein Obama’s eating dogs whose meat was “tough.”
Likewise, anyone who believes White House press flack, Jay Carney, when he says with a straight face that he “never” lies in the face of multiple and proven prevarications in defense of his boss must be bewildered over the serious possibility that virtually everything the Obama administration says and does is a lie.
Sometimes, perceived truisms merge in the entertainment and political universes when politicians inadvertently become entertainers.
All but the most braindead Democrats realize that Vice President Joseph Robinette Biden, Jr. was chosen for that position because he was guaranteed to play the role of the administration’s entertaining clown prince in order to deflect attention from Obama’s frequent gaffes and outright deceptions which make GWB look like a genius.
Senator Biden’s surpassed his pre-nomination ”storybook” description of Obama as ”the first mainstream African-American who is articulate and bright and clean and a nice-looking guy,” a classic put-down of blacks, when he lauded Obamacare on a live mic as “a big, #$%@-ing deal,” without the #$%@.
The clown prince may have outdone himself once again and established himself as the biggest boob ever to hold the office that John Nance Garner called “not worth a bucket of warm spit.”
This time, Biden didn’t just come across as obliviously stupid as much as he reflected the oblivious stupidity of the Obama Team who picked him in the first place. . . (Read more at http://www.genelalor.com/blog1/?p=22765.)

“Or what was your purpose in posting this article?”
If you posted this article to besmear all survivalists, then you are simply trying to discredit anyone who believes in preparing for an uncertain future.
So what is your reason for posting this article? What is the point you are attempting to make?
sammy, you ignore the fact that I already called you out for jumping to silly conclusions when my previous statement had already refuted it.
In my @2:32 post I said: I provided information about ONE person….
Yet again, you ignore that and now you jump to another conclusion that my motivation in posting was “to besmear all survivalists”.
The caption in the thread header suggests Obama is motivating gun sales.
If people are paranoid about Obama and the government, and are buying guns as a response, then it should be pretty obvious that Keller, one guy, one survivalist, was also one of those people.
Posting the article was a direct response to the thread header.
sammy, you ignore the fact that I already called you out for jumping to silly conclusions when my previous statement had already refuted it.

It is a simple fact that Obama has/is motivating gun sales.
If people are paranoid about Obama and the government, and are buying guns as a response, then it should be pretty obvious that Keller, one guy, one survivalist, was also one of those people.
Posting the article was a direct response to the thread header.
You are apparently attempting to make the connection between more guns equaling more crime. You are clearly attempting to draw a connection between the increase in gun sales/increased interest in survivalists and increased acts of violence.
Unfortunately the act of one person does not a trend make (those on the left love to point at a single example and draw conclusions without looking at representative data).
But most leftists aren’t concerned about actual statistics if they don’t support their preexisting ideas.
Now in this particular case, you are implying that if Obama hadn’t been elected, people would be less parinoid, there would be fewer people out there learning survivalist techniques, and, if that had happened, they guy might not have murdered his family.
That may be right. If Obama hadn’t been elected, this family might be happily living in their 3 bedroom home in Washington right now. So who’s fault is it that they aren’t?
sammy, you persist in putting your “interpretations” on me. I’ve called you on it twice and now you are doing it again.
Feel free to call me on what I actually say, NOT what you IMAGINE I am thinking. You are a fine one to whine about “preexisting ideas”, that’s all your complaints are.
sammy sez: You are apparently attempting to make the connection between more guns equaling more crime. You are clearly attempting to draw a connection between the increase in gun sales/increased interest in survivalists and increased acts of violence.
The “connections” you think I’m “attempting to make” came out of your head, not mine.
sammy sez: Unfortunately the act of one person does not a trend make (those on the left love to point at a single example and draw conclusions without looking at representative data).
Talk about projection. How many times do I have to say, I WAS talking about ONE person?
Meanwhile, a slight diversion – check out the following moonbattery threads in relation to that statement of yours.
“Moonbat Dies After Attempting To Live On Sunlight Alone”
“Occucommie Calls For Bloodshed”

sammy sez: Now in this particular case, you are implying…
No sammy, once again you IMAGINE I am implying.
Your final two paragraphs are beyond bizarre.
Obama WAS elected. Some people ARE paranoid about that. Some of those people ARE buying guns. You yourself said It is a simple fact that Obama has/is motivating gun sales. Some people ARE learning survivalist techniques.
You guess that had none of that been true the guy might not have murdered his family.
I hate to mess up your twisted prognostications but apparently the guy had been a survivalist, and working on his bunker for eight years.
Obama was elected and the family isn’t living happily in that house. You tell me, who’s (sic) fault is that they aren’t?
lao,
Short term pouring more money into the system does increase economic growth but eventually that new debt will have to be serviced and once interest rates rise there will be a default called inflation. A 1% interest increase on $1,000,000,000,000 is $100,000,000 a year just to service the debt. Eventually things will hit a wall if the borrowing continues at this rate. The question is how long and how hard. If you are interested check the inflation issues of stamps of post WWII Hungary.
You are correct, Lao; I was trying to figure out what you were thinking. So set me straight.

That’s because you can’t give a straight answer to a simple question:

But then you state:

So which is it to be….Keller the survivalist, paranoid and motivated by Obama, or Keller the survivalist, paranoid but not motivated by Obama?
Tell me again how you posting this story has anything to do with the header of this thread.

——————-
Only lao would be stupid enough to claim that by merely pointing out that there’s a Seattle Tea Party that somehow links them to the survivalist. Why he even brings me up, or for that matter the Seattle Tea Party up, is beyond me.
What I said was this:
What lao is forgetting is that Seattle is so far left that you can be way to the right of the general population there and still be way left of center!
To that, lao responds with this:
It doesn’t matter where you live, there are people on ALL sides of the political spectrum living there too.
I never said there weren’t. He’s implying it and/or implying I said that, but I never did.
I never said there weren’t people on the right in Seattle. OF COURSE THERE ARE! Though they’re probably an endangered species.
What I said stands unchallenged as lao is apparently too completely ignorant to even comprehend what it means.
So maybe I can simplify it. Fly a light plane over a Seattle Seahawks game. As you pass over the crowd, drop a pebble. Now what are the chances that it will hit a liberal and what are the chances it will hit a conservative? Does that light that dim bulb in your cranium that you call a brain, lao?
Of course lao completely missed what it was I was saying, as usual, and he’s really not worth my time, particularly because KICK THE TROLL day ends in about 45 minutes and it’s likely he’s said even stupider things that I have yet to get to because, unlike him, I have a REAL life with REAL people and can’t spend time indexing and collating every single word anyone has said on this web site.
You see, guys, this is exactly why I admit those who say we should simply ignore lao and not get into discussions with him are right. We all know his tactics:
He avoids actually taking a position even though his positions are abundantly clear from the many posts he’s made here. That way he has deniability. He tries to pull us into circular arguments with him where he enjoys denying that he really expressed what he clearly is implying and he’s right, he stops just short of actually admitting where he’s going, which is basically nowhere, along with the rest of the moonbats.
So, again, I suggest we ignore him most of the week and, if we must, kick him around on Saturdays (or whatever SINGLE day of the week we can all agree to make KICK THE TROLL DAY) and maybe, eventually, we’ll even ignore him then.
I mean, you can see by the utter ignorance of his response to me that there’s no point in actually trying to engage him in a reasonable, honest, logical discussion – he’s incapable!
Folks, lao thinks he’s fooling us, but he’s not. Let us go down the list of those posts of his that come to mind:
Jared Lee Loughner – When lao posted the news about his despicable acts you know he was thinking this was the act of some right wing kook. Too bad for lao this guy turned out to be a poster child for “occupy”, a hardcore moonbat who had NOTHING to do with the right or conservatives.
Anders Behring Breivik – This time lao was pretty certain and indeed the press still refers to him as “right wing”, as, like lao, they apparently don’t know that “national socialists” are left wingers. The left is so ashamed of the excesses that “national socialism” caused before and during WWII that they still are in complete denial about the issue, as lao and the press demonstrate each time they call Breivik “right wing” without also mentioning that “right wing” connection is “national SOCIALISM”.
George Zimmerman – This one was the jackpot for moonbats. And, true to form, lao jumped right on the bandwagon.
Too bad he turned out to be a DEMOCRAT, just like Loughner!
Now it is entirely possible the “survivalist” had right wing connections – it doesn’t matter. Because, when you get down to it, when asked to rate THEMSELVES, left wing moonbats more consistently admit they’re FVCKIN’ NVTS! And their behaviors, and lao’s posts, tend to prove that!
Sam Adams says: April 28, 2012 at 11:41 pm
I’m still waiting for Lao to answer the question as to why he posted the story about Keller.
———
Why?
We already know, though he’ll never admit it.
Every time there’s ANY chance of someone who’s done something awful being right wing lao is on it like flies on $hyte.
Though he will deny it, we all know he was hoping this would be the jackpot story about the right wing Tea Party conservative who killed his family and then took his own life.
And who cares, even if he is finally right after being so wrong so often? The right wing has kooks too! NOBODY DENIES THAT! But at least the right wing wants you to be armed and ready when they show up armed to the teeth at your door. The left wing wants you to be defenseless, to depend on them, even though we all know that by the time the left wing shows up the damage will be done and can’t be undone.

Meanwhile, a slight diversion – check out the following moonbattery threads in relation to that statement of yours.
“Moonbat Dies After Attempting To Live On Sunlight Alone”
“Occucommie Calls For Bloodshed”
Look who is pointing at a single example and drawing conclusions. This is standard blunt practice on moonbattery.
Two lies, actually:
1) First, lao points out TWO EXAMPLES then claims there’s only one.
2) Second, he goes on to repeat, compound the mistake by pointing out the plethora of examples that are in the news day in and day out that wind up here.
Basically he has confirmed Blount’s hypothesis and completely contradicted his own. To whit: There are constant streams of moonbats who do crazy things – just check out the police reports concerning virtually ANY “occupy” site (well, with the possible exceptions of “occupy tundra” and “occupy Jupiter”) and you will see what I mean.
The fact is moonbats engage in moonbatty behavior and lao thinks it’s about keeping score, even though the fact is if we did keep score HE WOULD STILL BE LOSING DISMALLY.
Let’s just give him one – Brevik. We’ll just submit him as a “right winger” even though he’s a “national SOCIALIST”. Maybe that will shut lao up for a while, or not.

I’m still waiting for Lao to answer the question as to why he posted the story about Keller.
———
Why?
We already know, though he’ll never admit it.
Every time there’s ANY chance of someone who’s done something awful being right wing lao is on it like flies on $hyte.
_________
Well Lao is giving me a hard time about trying to discern his motives, yet what he posts isn’t consistent. If Keller has been a survivalist for eight years, that pretty much lets Obama off the hook as far as him inspiring Keller’s preparations. Of course one could argue that Keller may have increased the rate and intensity of his preparations, but there is no data I’ve seen to support that.
But if there is no evidence that Keller was/is “inspired” by Obama, then there really isn’t any reason for posting about him on this site. Which raised the question of…why did Lao provide a post about Keller on this site?
By the way, that graphic is from this link which, if you haven’t seen it, is worth a look!
One of the money lines is something I’ve said several times:
‘… repeated references to Zimmerman as a “white Hispanic.” Zimmerman is half-white. So is Barack Obama. But does anyone refer to Obama as a “white African”?’
sammy, you have completely ignored responding to my post @5:33 pm which addresses your twisted views expressed @4:50 pm
Obama was elected and the family isn’t living happily in that house. You tell me, who’s (sic) fault is that they aren’t?
sammy quotes my @4:15 pm words: If people are paranoid about Obama and the government, and are buying guns as a response, then it should be pretty obvious that Keller, one guy, one survivalist, was also one of those people.</I.
Posting the article was a direct response to the thread header.
That was a little sloppy on my part. I should have said, “…one survivalist, could be one of those people.
I still have not heard any reports specifically declaring the flake’s political leanings. Of course there are survivalists on both the right and the left.
@1:18 pm I had already stated: What the survivalist’s actual politics may turn out to be remains to be seen.
sammy said: It is a simple fact that Obama has/is motivating gun sales.
If paranoia cuts both ways then Obama may be motivating the right to buy guns and the gun-buying of the right may be motivating the left to buy guns.
As usual, not content to wait for the facts, @10:16 am bobby threw out a wild guess and said: It will be funny when Keller turns out to be an Obama supporter who frequents “occupy” gatherings.
Right or left, this ties in to the caption in the thread header. By the way, this IS an open thread, so it was not necessary to do that. The story was the top headline on FOX.
I often post general interest links with no “point” to be made in doing so. That sammy has spent his time sweating out imaginary motivations that he has attributed to me is his problem.
- – - – -
@11:18 am I posted a response to bobby including a link to the Seattle Tea Party Patriots followed by this statement:
bobby, of course, will be stupid enough to claim that I’m trying to implicate the Seattle Tea Party Patriots as being connected with the survivalist. Wrong. I’m simply pointing out what anyone with brains completely understands. It doesn’t matter where you live, there are people on ALL sides of the political spectrum living there too.
What does bobby say @11:14 pm? Only lao would be stupid enough to claim that by merely pointing out that there’s a Seattle Tea Party that somehow links them to the survivalist.
I called it.
What follows, in that post and multiple others, is more of bobby’s bafflegab, total distortions, mind-boggling stupidity and outright lies. As always, there’s no point in responding.
Personally I don’t see a connection between a guy being a “survivalist” and a guy murdering his family. So far I haven’t read of any motivations behind why this guy would have opted to murder his family, rather than protect them (which is the apparent goal for the survivalists that I know about).
Maybe the guy was depressed. Maybe he saw the country going down the drain, first under Bush, and then increasingly so under Obama. Maybe there was conflict within his family that we don’t know about (maybe the wife told him that she really doesn’t want to live in a hole in the woods.
Who’s fault is it that he, and the rest of his family, are dead. The killer’s fault, of course. Politics may or may not have been a contributing factor.
I often post general interest links with no “point” to be made in doing so. That sammy has spent his time sweating out imaginary motivations that he has attributed to me is his problem.
Thanks for straightening me out. I believe most folks who post articles here or make comments have some point to make or motivation behind posting. The fact that you would state that there is no point behind some of the items you post….I’ll have to try and keep that in mind when considering what you post. The closest analogy that pops to mind is “junk mail.” At least the google ads that pop up on this site tend to have some relevance to the topic or the discussion.
I notice you DIDN’T quote my words that preceded them: sammy sez: Now in this particular case, you are implying…
No sammy, once again you IMAGINE I am implying.
Your final two paragraphs are beyond bizarre. Here’s those final two paragraphs:
sammy @4:50Now in this particular case, you are implying that if Obama hadn’t been elected, people would be less parinoid, there would be fewer people out there learning survivalist techniques, and, if that had happened, they guy might not have murdered his family.
That may be right. If Obama hadn’t been elected, this family might be happily living in their 3 bedroom home in Washington right now. So who’s fault is it that they aren’t?
sammy sez: Personally I don’t see a connection between a guy being a “survivalist” and a guy murdering his family.
I never made one. You are the guy making “connections” out of your own head and most of my responses to you have been addressing your fantasies.
Here’s some more examples that I have already refuted:
sammy @1:12: Your (sic) attempting to paint “survivalists” as violent people. Your purpose in posting this article is to imply that survivalists=right wing conservative politics.
sammy @3:50: If you posted this article to besmear all survivalists, then you are simply trying to discredit anyone who believes in preparing for an uncertain future.
sammy @4:50: You are apparently attempting to make the connection between more guns equaling more crime. You are clearly attempting to draw a connection between the increase in gun sales/increased interest in survivalists and increased acts of violence.
Look at the bobby post @10:45 am yesterday. It contains 13 unrelated links. Did you click them all and ponder what “point” bobby was making in each one?
There is no “topic” on an open thread, beyond what posters themselves create.
Let’s just say it: The Republicans are the problem.
Let me guess lao, that was written by Bill Mahar? How typical.

SWAT teams surround bunker where Seattle ‘survivalist’ wanted in killings of wife and daughter is thought to be hiding

Now the first thing to note is that the US has recovered WAY better than either the Eurozone or the UK.
The UK was recovering on a fine trajectory right up until early 2010, at which point UK growth hit a brick wall.
What happened in 2010? That’s when conservative David Cameron came to power with an agenda of reigning in the debt. Sound familiar?
Basically we have a life test of a country that wants to do what conservatives in the US want to do: reduce national debt.
Doing so is a growth disaster.

It is ideologically extreme;
Whether it’s class warfare, “climate change”, abortion, guns or the proper role of government, it is the DEMOCRATS who are ideologically extreme.
scornful of compromise;
In fact it’s the DEMOCRATS who, time after time, not only lock Republicans out of negotiations on upcoming legislation, they also shut down debate in the Congress and attempt to create a false narrative in hopes of further stifling debate and compromise.
unmoved by conventional understanding of facts, evidence and science;

What lao is forgetting is that Seattle is so far left that you can be way to the right of the general population there and still be way left of center!

U.S. Homeownership Hits Decade Low The 62% of Americans who say they own their own home marks a new low since Gallup began tracking self-reported homeownership in 2001.
Record-Low 53% of Americans Say Their Home’s Value Has Increased
Only a paid troll would spin this as good news of a recovery.
Although there are signs that, once Obama is out of office, things will improve and that is the one “silver lining” that remains intact.
Economy’s Biggest Drag Right Now Is Government Wow, tell us something we didn’t know!
But at least, among moonbats, business is “booming”:
The Oklahoma Highway Patrol says a portable methamphetamine lab exploded in a man’s pants as he tried to run away from a state trooper during a traffic stop. Authorities say the man tried to run away when the trooper asked him about a chemical smell.
Trooper Shiloh Hall says the man had an active meth lab in his pants that burst during a struggle with the trooper. The man was checked out by emergency personnel and booked in the Okmulgee County jail on a drug charge.
A portable meth lab is also known as a one-pot lab, where a smaller batch of the drug is manufactured.>/i>

……

Here’s another little item for consideration:
http://bbs.chinadaily.com.cn/thread-729073-1-1.html
India to buy Iran oil in gold NOT DOLLARS!
Of course Obama and his administration, unlike previous administrations, haven’t been worried about the dollar being ditched as the world’s reserve currency.
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/finance/economics/5050407/US-backing-for-world-currency-stuns-markets.html
Oh yes, Obama has done a great job protecting the dollar and adding economic prosperity to the US. Wonder why Lao doesn’t compare the US and Canada when it comes to comments about paying down the debt and the resulting effects upon the economy?
Lao?
OOPS!
Anyway, moving on:
Socialists deploy Obama campaign tactics.

Moonbats ending it all in Greece. This is the inevitable future of leftist/Democrat/Moonbat ideology.

Obama engaging in Chicago style political payoffs.
Carney caught in yet another blatant lie. Sorry pal, but the record proves conclusively that you’re lying. Again.
Obama shamelessly using bin Laden to score political points – something he accused Clinton of doing in 2008! What is funniest is that the obamunists are trying to suggest Romney would not have ordered the killing of bin Laden even as it comes out that Obama is hiding the fact an Admiral was behind the operation and, I’m guessing, if Obama had been in direct control it likely never would have taken place!
CONTEMPT CITATION COMING AGAINST HOLDER!
Demand for independent Secret Service probe. How about an independent probe of Holder on several issues, starting with his softness on voter fraud and voter intimidation and going right up to and through Fast & Furious!

Actually Canadians have largely gotten the message and turned away from their socialist ways and elected governments that have successfully cut government spending. Canada is also developing their resources which continues to help their economy.
Unfortunately there are still some slow learners there who choose to ignore or don’t understand the result of conservative policies.

sammy, I provided information about ONE person and that “survivalist” certainly appears to have been violent.

Do try to avoid claiming I “imply” something, when I have made a statement that directly refutes it.
Big Sticks and Big Boobs

It is a simple fact that Obama has/is motivating gun sales.
You are apparently attempting to make the connection between more guns equaling more crime. You are clearly attempting to draw a connection between the increase in gun sales/increased interest in survivalists and increased acts of violence.
Unfortunately the act of one person does not a trend make (those on the left love to point at a single example and draw conclusions without looking at representative data).
http://pjmedia.com/blog/fbi-crime-stats-show-an-armed-public-is-a-safer-public/ provides a pretty comprehensive look at the rate of crime, the rate of murder, compared with the rate of firearm sales. The data can lead to but one conclusion; more firearm sales lead to less crime.

You tell me, who’s (sic) fault is that they aren’t?
lao-sey sez: “Obama was elected and the family isn’t living happily in that house. You tell me, who’s (sic) fault is that they aren’t?”
Their fault, pure and simple. Perhaps they would be happier in a “worker’s paradise” like Cuba, Venezuela, or North Korea.
LOL!!
Congrats snuss, you just demonstrated you have NO IDEA what is being talked about.
lao,
Short term pouring more money into the system does increase economic growth but eventually that new debt will have to be serviced and once interest rates rise there will be a default called inflation. A 1% interest increase on $1,000,000,000,000 is $100,000,000 a year just to service the debt. Eventually things will hit a wall if the borrowing continues at this rate. The question is how long and how hard. If you are interested check the inflation issues of stamps of post WWII Hungary.

I’m still waiting for Lao to answer the question as to why he posted the story about Keller.

I think I’ve run past the end of KICK THE TROLL DAY so I’M OUT!

Moonbats have Zimmerman in the crosshairs.
Isn’t it about time for a certain parrot to start squawking?
By the way, that graphic is from this link which, if you haven’t seen it, is worth a look!
One of the money lines is something I’ve said several times:
‘… repeated references to Zimmerman as a “white Hispanic.” Zimmerman is half-white. So is Barack Obama. But does anyone refer to Obama as a “white African”?’
Why indeed?
I see the bobby and sammy show, A Taste of Whine, was on last night.
Time to get a coffee and go read the Sunday comics. After that I’ll be properly primed to come back here.
sammy, you have completely ignored responding to my post @5:33 pm which addresses your twisted views expressed @4:50 pm

RE: TrickleUpPolitics at April 28, 2012 at 8:43 am:
Yep!!! HAHAHAHA!!
Lao, you must be referring to your question here:
