Advertising Under a Fascist Regime

The beverage industry is attempting to fight back against NYC Mayor for Life Michael Bloomberg’s absurd restrictions on soda. But it isn’t easy to do in a quasi-dictatorship:

Last year, the group retained SKD Knickerbocker, an influential consulting firm that produced advertisements for Mr. Bloomberg’s mayoral campaigns, to advise it on political strategy in New York.

When a Knickerbocker spokesman, speaking for the beverage industry, denounced the mayor’s plan last month, Mr. Bloomberg’s camp was taken aback, according to several people with direct knowledge of the situation.

Allies of Mr. Bloomberg conveyed their anger to the firm. The company still represents the beverage association but is no longer working on the soda-ban issue.

Similarly, a highly effective ad featuring a guy who bought from Ford rather than Government Motors or Chrysler because the former didn’t let itself get bought out by Big Government was squelched on orders from the Obama Regime.

This illustrates the difference between communism and fascism. Fascism allows some private companies to exist, but bureaucrats still call the shots.

The Founding Fathers and those who died fighting Nazis weep in their graves.

I present an alternate solution to New Yorks terrible obesity problem. It is brilliant in it’s simplicity and is 100% guaranteed to work. Make all foods legal again and make elevators illegal. 6 months after my plan is in effect, the whole city will be cut like marathon runners. The only exemptions will be freight and handicap access. This will work, everything bloomberg is doing will not.

May I suggest that AIR CONDITIONERS be banned from New York and Washington DC government offices? That would safe them time and money going to STEAM BATHS.
