ObamaCare Has Already Produced 13,000 Pages of Senseless Regulations

You think this massive pile of oppressive government regulation is bad?

Now for the real horror. The 2,700-page monstrosity known as ObamaRobertsCare is only an outline. Even now legions of scuttling bureaucrats wriggle their antennae in authoritarian ecstasy as they fill it out:

With the Supreme Court giving President Obama’s new health care law a green light, federal and state officials are turning to implementation of the law — a lengthy and massive undertaking still in its early stages, but already costing money and expanding the government.

The Health and Human Services Department “was given a billion dollars implementation money,” Republican Rep. Denny Rehberg of Montana said. “That money is gone already on additional bureaucrats and IT programs, computerization for the implementation.” …

The IRS, Health and Human Services and many other agencies will now write thousands of pages of regulations — an effort well under way:

“There’s already 13,000 pages of regulations, and they’re not even done yet,” Rehberg said.

What unemployment crisis? There will always be job openings for writers of senseless regulations — and collectors of the taxes to pay for their salaries.

Rep Joe Wilson hit the nail on the head http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TyTelRaoBAI

Marcelo Rivera, representing the group Latinos Para La Revolución (“Latinos for the Revolution”) “The individual mandate was the most important part of the law… We are still working with officials to make sure that undocumented Latinos will receive only the best health care possible. We don’t want them attending those free clinics with doctors that have no experience.” Apparently, the free clinics with young doctors who know all of the current medical procedures are to be reserved especially for Americans who have been put out of work by under-priced illegal laborers.

So apparently Nacy Pelosi was wrong.

We had to pass the bill before they could WRITE it. And once they get through writing it, THEN we can find out what’s in it.

    A little good news:

“Texas Gov. Rick Perry said Monday his state won’t expand Medicaid or set up an insurance exchange, joining a growing number of Republican governors who are rejecting two key parts of President Obama’s health care law.

“I will not be party to socializing health care and bankrupting my state in direct contradiction to our Constitution and our founding principles of limited government,” Mr. Perry said.

He joins more than half-dozen GOP governors who have already said they won’t increase the size of their Medicaid programs to cover Americans up to 133 percent of the poverty level, after the Supreme Court upheld most of the law last month but said states could opt out of the Medicaid expansion.”

Holy Moly! Are the “tree-huggers” aware of all the trees that had to die to promulgate this? They should withhold their votes for Dems in protest.

Even now legions of scuttling bureaucrats wriggle their antennae in authoritarian ecstasy as they fill it out: …

That is the most perfect description of the “regulatory” process I have ever read or heard. And I am saying that as a retired military and “fed” person.

Honestly, most folks have no idea of just how much of the federal government, now and inverted management pyramid, is devoted to “rule making” that has the force of law … with a catch-22: You are guilty if charged, until you can prove yourself innocent. Meanwhile fees/fines/penalties are assessed and collected, or you go out of business or to jail or both.

The is no doubt in my military mind that you could cut the senior bureaucracy by over 50% tonight, hell even 75%, and not hurt a thing.

  6. Aridog says:

The military is not exempt from this inverted pyramid of bloated senior management staffing the Pentagon Rangers ranks. Pray tell just how a roughly 1.3 Million man/woman military requires over 800 flag rank general officers and admirals? Now add in the filed grade staffs the flag ranks require. An common joke was/is that if you get assigned to the Pentagon below the rank of full Colonel, you’re going to be a coffee gopher.

The military is under going a draw down now, just like 1972 and 1992, and you can bet the farm that war fighters will be the first sent home laid off, and the senior field grade clerks and generals the last, if ever.

  7. AC says:

Excellent point. The Pentagon is indeed bloated and in need of budget cuts. Too bad the American public has become so dumbed down that the two positions on the issue have become:

    1. Cut the military to the bone.
    2. Increase spending faster than inflation.

Where are the intelligent people willing to let the fat be cut in a way which does not impair operational readiness?

Do we really need tens of thousands of tanks when the only adversaries possessing similar strength have strategic forces sufficient to make said outdated equipment useless?

  8. Dr. 9 says:

Isn’t it amazing what can be done to a nation of weak, gullible, sheep. And, they’re just getting started.

  9. A. Levy says:

You may have a point AC, since whenever we’re sent off to fight other people’s wars, our dedicated warriors are told to simply fight, but not hurt anyone. You don’t need tanks for that, just lots of body bags.

  10. dan says:

    I’d say secede,declare war ,
surrender and apply for government aide but
I’m sure they have a rule /regulation against that.
Hint :always pull out all of the stops for the
    Grand Jury.If it doesn’t get to trial…

  11. Aridog says:

AC … not sure what you mean in your last sentence, BUT … keep our tanks and infantry the best in the world, as no land is ever taken without them, let alone held. Get f’ing rid of the bloat grades, keep the lower EM and combat experienced NCO’s.

If you meant maintain only what we need, then I’d be all down with that…we give entirely too much away, or abandon it in place. I say that from the perspective of a guy who survived an AR 15-6 investigation & inquiry (one step short of an Article 32 action) on “missing” tactical equipment, in a feverish search for scapegoats to a sheet-pile of stuff “donated” without authority.

  12. Aridog says:

    A. Levy … …whenever we’re sent off to fight other people’s wars, our dedicated warriors are told to simply fight, but not hurt anyone…

Now that IS the first thing that needs correcting. If we go to fight, fight to win, fast, and brutally. Then, leave the f**kers to rebuild on their own. No point what-so-ever being fodder for the State Department. None.

  13. KHarn says:

Destroy the enemy’s will and/or ability to wage war. THAT is the only “exit strategy” that has EVER worked!
