Obama to Impose Gender Quotas on Science Education

When liberal utopia has been achieved, educational opportunities in the sciences will be distributed by our rulers based not on aptitude, but on moonbattery:

Quotas limiting the number of male students in science may be imposed by the Education Department in 2013. The White House has promised that “new guidelines will also be issued to grant-receiving universities and colleges” spelling out “Title IX rules in the science, technology, engineering and math fields.” These guidelines will likely echo existing Title IX guidelines that restrict men’s percentage of intercollegiate athletes to their percentage in overall student bodies, thus reducing the overall number of intercollegiate athletes. …

Earlier, writing in Newsweek, President Obama celebrated the fact that 25 percent fewer men than women graduate from college, calling it a “great accomplishment” for America. Ironically, he lamented the fact that a smaller gender disparity — 17 percent fewer women attending college than men — had once existed before Title IX was implemented. To Obama, gender disparities are only bad when they disfavor women. Under his strange idea of equality, equality means men losing out to women.

Yet there are people who consider themselves men who voted for Obama and will do it again.

Obama hinted that Title IX quotas would soon come to engineering and techology, saying that “Title IX isn’t just about sports,” but also about “inequality in math and science education” and “a much broader range of fields, including engineering and technology. I’ve said that women will shape the destiny of this country, and I mean it.”

That is, he will use Big Government to force it to be the case. If reality doesn’t conform to liberal ideology, just beat on it with a hammer until it complies.

Christina Hoff Sommers wrote earlier about this looming liberal war on science. Based on a campaign promise Obama made to feminist groups in October 2008, Sommers foresaw the Obama Administration moving to artificially cap male enrollment in math and science classes to achieve gender proportionality — the way that Title IX currently caps male participation in intercollegiate athletics. The result could be a substantial reduction in the number of scientists graduating from America’s colleges and universities.

As coercive political correctness replaces merit, there is no segment of society that will not experience decay.

Well obviously the way around this is to claim to be a she-male.. Or Gender neutral. So what if you have to go to class in a dress… you can use the women’s restroom and get a peep-show!

  • Chellita

He must have learned gender equality while memorizing the koran at the Indonesian madrassa he attended. Oh.. wait..

  • Shooter1001

Why are there so many more Asian men in science disciplines than there are black women?? Why isn’t a cap placed on Asian men in favor of black women?? Its only fair, right?

  • Dmgore

What a predictable response to the alleged republican “war on women”.
I beginning to think he wasn’t lying when he said his would be the most transparent administration ever.

Why stop at male and female, why not erect quota’s for “its” under Title IX like Vanidy Bailey, who gets offended when someone refers to “its” gender. Can anyone believe that Obama says: “I’ve said that women will shape the destiny of this country, and I mean it,” and left out all the downtrodden “its” like Vanidy … what an insensitive, genderphobic narcissist.

Awesome article. I wonder if the quota scheme swings both ways. Can men get preferential treatment in studies dominated by women?

Racism and sexism is built into grants to force the ideology. When you read these grants they are insulting!

This grant says that health care quality suffers because there is not enough diversity in health care workers.

This grant says that STEM fields suffers from a lack of women.

How the he77 does the color of your skin or genitals improve knowledge or quality in a field of study and practise?

Is there anything that Obama won’t put his fingers into? Perhaps there’s a disparity in the ratio of men to women in science, tech, and math for the simple reason that not as many women are interested in these subjects and careers. But no, the Grand Tinkerer-in-Chief wants fake equality to be the rule. Is he planning to force more women into the courses? Or is he just looking to punish men?

  • Buffalobob

“Well of course affirmative action works, how do you thing I was able move up the ladder from a community organizer to whatever I am today”, obama.

  • TeaPartyNation

President Barack Obama declared that he “wasn’t born with a silver spoon in my mouth,”
…and he had some far, far better to avoid all the difficulties normal people have – OBOZO had “affirmative action special treatment” (i.e. RACIAL QUOTAS) to grease his way through his privileged life, so he wants to apply such “privileged” status to other groups from whom he needs votes.

  • Tim

So we’re already down the list when it comes to our standing in Scientific Knowledge so the way to fix that is to deny those who DO want to study science because you were born a male? And here I thought libtards didnt like putting restrictions on people just because they were born a certain way?

  • Fiberal

The result could be a substantial reduction in the number of scientists graduating from America’s colleges and universities.

    As if…

Tell you what. You cap the males in math in favor of female enrollment, you won’t have math.

In fact, most women today are wondering why anyone would want to look for Higg’s bison.

  • Canis lupus

So, in other words, lets prevent the more qualified men who want to get into the sciences and admit less qualified women into the industry.
This should have no outcome on the advancement and betterment of society.
This is why when I see a woman in a desired position, I immediately think there is a more qualified man who is not working.

More proof that liberalism is a mental disorder, a type of insanity. And now for even more bad news, you can not argue with them, since they have zero capacity to use or understand logic. Ideology is their g-o-d.

  • whotothewhat

Geez talk about getting leftist fatigue, everyday some new commie construct to deal with. Lets see Obama Care is going to be forced on us, the UN along with Obama wants to take away our guns, my taxes are skyrocketing, deviants and third world economic invaders get more and more rights while mine our decreasing. its alright not to show a ID to vote but now I can be stopped anytime and anywhere and be forced by threats to prove who I am. my son who is gifted in math and science will now be shackled and held down because he is male. We are going to have soon and I mean soon start the process of taking this country back. I think the time will be when the war in Iran starts that could be used by Obama as a red flag and allow Obama to declare marshall law then we will have no choice but fight back.

  • Fiberal

At last BO has done something right.

Let me tell you, as far as access to women, working in physics is like working in China–80 men to 1 woman.

You’d have better luck finding Higg’s bison.

And believe me, even if you got her, you’d have wished you didn’t.

  • Fiberal

I remember this knuckle dragger walking down the halls of an august institution.

At first, I thought it was a trained chimpanzee. In a dress.

But then on noticing that about 50 guys were following it, I realized she was the only female to enroll in Physics 101.

  • Fiberal

BO may have done a great thing here.

I mean, if you’ve never seen a female walk into a working laboratory, it looks about like an MSNBC news babe trying to interview the muslim brotherhood on alcohol.

  • Fiberal

There is no room for dating in science.

I can’t tell you how many times I’ve been rejected by a reject from a clinic for plastic surgery rejects.

  • Fiberal

I mean, you want to talk physics with a woman…you’d better be prepared to explain fractions.

You want to talk biology, you better know a lot about Rosalind Franklin’s X-ray crystallography.

You want to talk chemistry, you better know Marie Curie’s most intimate ablution secrets.

You want to talk geology—well, you’re better just taking a magazine home.

Talk astronomy –you mention black hole just once, and you’re going to need an ambulance with a hose and a plastic bag.

  • Fiberal

Listen, as far as a career in math and sciences, things are definitely looking up.

More women: fewer gays. This is a win:win for science.

  • Sam Adams

My daughter was an ace in both math and science. She could have gone into any technical area she wanted. She majored in costume design (and in 2008 voted liberal). But that is simply what she wanted to do.

White men are a discriminated against minority. Obama has, again, declared war on them. Apparently our standing internationally in science is too high.

  • Fiberal

I can see the Stockholm crowd now at the Nobel prize ceremony:

    King of Sweden:
“Well madam, just how did you come up with such a brilliant idea?”

    Dr. Sweet Thang:
“Oh Ah don’ know…really. Ah guess ’cause all those menfolk wanted to work w’ me and gave me all kinds of data an’ pub’cations an’ Jack Daniels—tee hee. See, we all jus had a time of it y’know.”

    (thunderous applause)

  • John S

I’m still waiting for these libtards to address the racial inequality in the NBA.

  • Fiberal

Seriously, any white male that goes into science or math these days should be taken out back and have some sense thrashed into him with a re-bar.

There is absolutely no place in American science for white men. That’s why the Higgs Boson among other progress in science wasn’t discovered in the U.S.

Funding is a big problem, but what scraps of funding are left after the ivy league labs get theirs, inevitably goes to the existing females in science, or the guy working in AIDs or in the reproductive behaviors of lesbian trypanosomes.

There is a self-imposed affirmative action in American science today: grant set asides for women and minorities, preferences for women at University and College jobs and appointments, women are solicited to work on committees, etc. etc…on and on..

Moreover, if you’re a good-looking woman forget it. You don’t have to study….A hundred guys will be there to tutor you. (I know what I’m talking about here.)

It’s like that everywhere in all professions but in science its particularly acute.

    .
Men going into science today is like an Alabama car mechanic trying to make a living in Japan as a geisha girl.

I think think this wonderful news. The more they tamper with education and undermine society, the worse the Frankenstein’s Monster that will one day be unleashed. I feel sorry for anyone with children, for they too will be subject to the violent rampaged of the Frankenstein Monster that this vein of Liberal Perversion will eventually set loose.

  • Mr Evilwrench

Now, there were a couple of chicks in my engineering classes I wouldn’t’ve minded getting with. Just a couple, though, and 250 other guys to line up with. These leftards, see, they have this handicap. They can’t acknowledge reality in so many ways, like that men and women are not exactly alike other than that giving birth thing.

I have just attended a small conference on general relativity. There were about thirty participants, of whom three were women. Capable women, I may say; but still, 10% of the total.

Obama’s measure will finish US science.

  • Jimbo

You don’t need no stinking brains to design a rocket ship. You just have to be a black homosexual communist woman. EVERYBODY knows that.

I want obama-the-freak to have a brain surgeon chosen because it’s a black homosexual communist woman.

  • Alan

I work in financial aid for a private college that caters to working adults. Obama would blow his load if he saw how many AS degrees we grant to black and hispanic students, many of them single mothers, in Medical Assisting, Paramedic, Surgical Tech and other technical fields. Of the two dozen people in our last staff meeting, about five were white males.

Neither the government nor anybody else told us to do this. We have no race or sex quotas. Except for the occasional Obama or ML King T-shirt, the school avoids politics like the plague. We simply enroll anybody with a diploma/GED who interviews with admissions and passes the entrance exam (and documents they’re US citizens or registered aliens). The company is owned by a woman, and she/we hire people who can do the job and not cause problems. Everybody is too busy with work/school to march in the streets or Occupy anything.

Which is why I’ve been there seven years.

  • http://www.pigazette.com Hambo

When you cut through all the self-serving crap, the unstated goal of Title IX is to make the American college campus a no man land.

If that’s what they want then why not get ‘er done by making it a death penalty offense for a – GASP – male to attend college?

    Are these people effing insane!!!

We have been importing foreign science talent for a couple decades now. So now we’re going to reduce our graduates even more because not as many women want to do science as ‘smart’ people ‘think’ should be there by percentage.

Then when tons of H1B visas are granted (again) because we do not have enough American scientists, the screaming over that will start again.

There is ONLY one cure for all this insanity – remove ALL government money from education (sic). Then we might get back to educating.

  • Jodie

We moved in the middle of my ninth grade year and I had to start a new school. They tried to put me in similar classes as the ones I had been taking, so they put me in a science class with 41 boys – I was the only girl. Ever played that game where the first person punches the person in the arm who sits behind them, and then that person punches the person behind them, etc.? I have. It sucks!

  • hadenough!

FIberal.. what gives? You have posted a million disparaging remarks against women on here. Do you have a gripe with them?

Just so you know, I am a woman, I am majoring in Geology with a minor in physics. I am a good-looking(actually down right hot!) woman that does not NEED tutoring from any man. (I am also extremely conservative, loyal, and faithful to my husband and have a deep faith in God) Don’t throw us all into the gripe you have with women.

There are many brilliant and intelligent and beautiful women in the world. I am sorry for you that you haven’t met any of them and you have a chip on your shoulder.

The reason there are fewer women in science and math is for the simple fact that many women do not posses a math/science brain. Men are spatial thinkers, women are not. It isn’t about intelligence, it is about wiring.

Some women such as myself are wired for math and science, but we lack in other areas. Like most Mensa members ,I have a difficult time relating on a personal level to other people. As with all intelligence, it is difficult to find people that are well-rounded in the various forms of intelligence.

You are lacking in the introspective intelligence, your attacking of women shows an inability for you to peer into yourself and determine your own faults and biases against women. I sincerely hope you attempt to examine your belief system and what made you so jaded against women and correct it. This will make you a happier person in the end and you might just find one of those intelligent and beautiful, passionate woman in which you could share your life with.
