Obama Regime’s Industrial Sabotage Against Gulf Oil Drilling

The overhyped BP mishap will have a long-term catastrophic effect not because of the spilled oil, which quickly biodegraded, but because the saboteur in the White House used it as a pretext to destroy the crucial oil drilling industry in the Gulf. Via MasterResource:

Ten oil rigs have left the Gulf of Mexico since the Obama Administration imposed a moratorium on deepwater oil and gas drilling in May 2010 and others could follow soon, a detailed July 2011 report from Sen. David Vitter’s (R-La.) office shows.

The rigs have been relocated to Third-World countries, which dovetails perfectly with Obama’s anti-neocolonialist ideology. More rigs are on the way out.

Warns Bonner Cohen, a senior fellow with the National Center for Public Policy Research:

“What you are seeing in Louisiana is only a small piece of [a] larger mosaic being put together by the Obama Administration to make affordable energy as inaccessible as possible,” he said. “From the administration’s war on coal to the serious consideration it is giving to imposing a nationwide regulation of hydraulic fracturing, to its shut down of deepwater drilling in the Gulf of Mexico, to its ‘endangerment finding’ from the EPA [Environmental Protection Agency], the administration is practicing its own form of selected industrial sabotage.”

It’s not as if no one saw this coming. Even before he was elected, Obama promised to use environmental regulations to destroy the coal industry, and declared that he would not allow Americans enough energy freedom to set their thermostats at a comfortable temperature. He was elected by liberals who hate this country for the express purpose of destroying it. To accomplish this, he is going after the country’s jugular: the energy sector.

As Power Line points out:

If a hostile nation drove our drilling rigs out of the Gulf of Mexico, it would be an act of war.

Obama’s election was a declaration of war. Unlike wars fought abroad, we don’t have the option of losing this one, because if we do, our great country will no longer exist.

On a tip from Byron.

Sorry, no news here. Like Dave says, he TOLD us he was going to do this. And yet, over half the damn nation still voted for the guy. I am so very scared. It is not so much what Obama has done to us, it is the fact that over half us put him there in the first place that scares the ever living crap out of me. We can fix the damage, evenutally. We can’t fix the stupid.

  • Wyatt’s Torch

Let’s not forget that now we can’t exploit THE LARGEST OIL RESERVE ON EARTH because of a wild flower. Not that the decision to call it a protected species has ANYTHING to do with environmental regulation used as a political weapon.

    OH, banish the thought!

If ANY significant percentage votes for these traitors again, we deserve what we get.

(Hint: God might have something to say. A little 5.9 in D.C. sent ‘em running. That wasn’t even a warm-up.)

LOL, I read that Obummer was on the golf course when it hit.

    God’s talking to you, boy!

  • mega

Trace – no, we CAN fix the stupid. It just takes a long time. Stupid moves in decades, not months or years. People are getting a little savvier about progressive statism. Progressivism is a fierce opponent, but not invincible, and contains the seeds of its own demise.

But I do fundamentally agree – Obama is the symptom. The cause is the people who voted for him. The cultural, political, and moral rot that made him possible. Eloi America.

I think our entitlement class will make the recent London social justice festivities look like a quiet week if their messiah loses.

Ahh, today’s hopeful word from Mr. Sunshine. (Not that I disagree, but SHEESH.)

  • SPURWING PLOVER

The eco-nazis under the green swatika ENVIROMENTALSISTS ARE EVIL

  • Dr. 9

Well said Trace. The Marxist-in-Chief and his EnviroNazi worshipers don’t want us using our own oil, but he gave the ok for just about every other country to drill in the Gulf, including the ChiComs, and his Marxist pals in Venezuela.

BTW, the tremors from that quake went through NYC and scard the s— out of everybody!!

Don’t you live in SoCal? Might be time to grab another case of ammo. If they’ll riot over Rodney imagine what they’ll do for Obama after local race hustler Maxine Waters has had another 15 months to chum the waters.

  • Hail The Amberlamps!

Dr. 9 is right. This is the something-shiney the communists need to distract from last Friday’s dictats and race-war agitation and stagflationary Prog economy stats.

Of course single mothers and minorities will be hardest hit.

  • Hail The Amberlamps!

    Something shiny = earthquake. Oopsie.

Personally…I think that their long-term plan is to nationalize our Oil & Gas Resources.
So sabotaging the Oil & Gas Industry now puts those resources largely on hold and in reserve…for when their socialist dictatorship can control them.

And when that happens, the concerns for the wildflowers and sand lizards will be tossed out the window.

  • chuck in st paul

No problem guys. The Cargo Cult of America will reelect Barry and then we’ll have utopia. He just didn’t have enough time to spend enough money to get the recovery going. He’ll fix that in the second term.

  • KHarn

I just want to remind all the regressives that Pelosi and the rest of your “heros” said that natural gas would be used to get the US off foreign oil.

Their plan seems to go something like this:

STEP ONE: Replace Petrolium with natural gas to cut down on foreign oil purchases.
STEP TWO: Forbid American companys from drilling for natural gas in American waters and territory.
STEP THREE: Alow and even PAY foreign companys to drill for gas in American waters.
STEP FOUR: Buy natural gas from foreign companys.
STEP FIVE: Announce that we are no longer “addicted to foreign oil”.

I may be STOOOPID, but it sounds just like a scene in the Disney cartoon “Tail Spin” where the communist country bought pink flamingos from Cape Susette for a dollar each, painted them blue and then sold them BACK for a dollar ten.

  • Ghost of FA Hayek

Well, according to Krugman, this quake could have a stimulative effect of a magnitude nine. Maybe drop a few bombs or something to magnify the effects.
    Wow, all those broken windows.
Well maybe he can show us the stimulative effect of replacing his tinfoil hat collection.

  • Kevin R.

Yes, ghost. All those broken windows! What we need is a lot more damage. That’ll put the economy on track.

    I can hear Bastiat laughing.

I think Kenysianism and the whole premise of stimulus spending is the broken window fallacy on grand scale.

  • KHarn

An error on the last post. I just remembered that the flamingos were sold back to Cape Susette for NINTY CENTS.

Yeah, that’s more like the grand regressive plan.

  • Spurwing Plover

And the eco-weirdos who ride around on their stupid bicycles and get in our way and knock down little old ladies deserve to have their bicycles wrapped around their necks

  • Angry Fletch

(sigh….) God help us….because I don’t know who else can fix this.

You know what, that makes a lot more sense. Scary.
