Do Not Back Down
While checkered-pants RINOs whisper bland platitudes, then apologize, Rep. Allen West lays out hard facts and stands his ground. Here’s what happened when the media tried to get him to back off his observation that Congress is infested with communists:

IMHO, Rep. West would make an excellent VP candidate.
However, I doubt that Romney has the testicular fortitude to make such a dynamic choice.

As with SENATOR Joe McCarthy, who was and is often falsely accused of having been behind the House Committee on Un-American Activities, which is yet another example of moonbat ignorance, West is merely telling it like it is and thus the left hates and pillories him.
One might say he could occasionally choose his words just a little more carefully, but others would retort that is exactly the problem – people more worried about appearances and losing substance as a result.
I like West pretty much just the way he is.
This took place a while ago, but still good to hear. Soros money and manpower has now moved in to take him down. They’ve no greater threat than a conservative who calls out the communist Left and and won’t back down.

You are quite right about old Joe McCarthy Bob. Years ago, Sen. McCarthy held Congressional committee hearings into the “fact” that Communist loyalists, supporters, sympathizers, and yes, even agents, had infiltrated our govt. and Hollywoods entertainment industry. He wasn’t simply dreaming. Right after WWII, Communists had almost complete control of the British govt. Their agents were so deeply placed, and at such high levels, that it took decades to get rid of them, assuming they actually did get rid of them.
The Left did everything it could to demonize McCarthy, calling him a loon. In fact, they even created a name for it, “McCarthyism“, which, even today, they freely apply to anyone they disagree with. What they never mention is the “fact” that McCarthy was right. Communists and their sympathizers had indeed infiltrated our govt., and at many levels. Today, those Communists control not only Hollywood, but much of our educational systems, much of the media, and organized labor. Old Joe knew exactly what he was talking about.
The problem with Rep. West is that he apparently didn’t get the memo the American people got, telling them that truth and honesty have been replaced by political correctness. Apparently, it’s no longer acceptable to tell the truth in this country since the Left has decided that anything that’s said which they disagree with is, “offensive”.
Political correctness is an insidious virus that has not only changed the way we speak, but also the way we think. And, the creation and spreading of PC was, “deliberate”! It’s a tool created by, and used by, the Left to silence anyone who disagrees with them. And like terrorism, PC relies on weak-minded people to fuel it. Sadly, it can only flourish where people have become weak and gullible sheep.

I love this man who speaks the truth clearly. My hope is that I will get to vote for him as VP but I will not write him in for Pres as that would only mean a win for O. If, on the other hand, he runs for & gets the nomination for Pres down the road, I’d be a sure vote for him.
Path, I was suggesting he be drafted at the convention. Writing him in would be pointless, and yes…I’m voting for Willard if that is the choice.
But can you, just for a moment, imagine the shock, awe and excitement that a West draft would create? West wouldn’t need to spend two cents for campaign ads. It would dominate the news for a month. Couple that with West’s military “seize the objective” attitude, and that’d be all she wrote.
But…acording to freebird…we “have not the price of [our] redemption” because of “corporate welfare”. Well, putting Solyndra and “green” companies aside for a moment, I’ll ask this: where have we gotten a better return on our tax dollars…corporations like oil companies who got subsidies or welfare moms with 12 kids living in Compton or Detroit?
Listening to Allen West just gives me a woody.

The solution for the United States is not to elect more “good” people to government because they are quickly co-opted and compromised by the corrupt political system.
It may sound cynical, but the solution is to make it politically advantageous for bad people to do the right thing.

Both Democrats and Republican recognize that exposing Obama will lead to a bloodbath of revelations about their complicity to undermine the Constitution and flout the rule of law, which would jeopardize their comfortable lifestyles. The truth would generate genuine outrage among the American people.

Joe McCarthy’s mistake was that he overestimated the number of communists in government and entertainment industry by about 5 or 10%. Other than that–he was great.
