This documentary about Detroit firefighters dealing with an endless explosion of recreational arson amid the ruins shows us what is at stake if we don’t turn back liberalism:
It took two generations for demographic displacement and rule by unions and Democrats to reduce one of the greatest cities in the world to the hellhole that festers in its place today. It won’t take many years of Obamunism to do the same thing to the country as a whole.

LBJ said that Detroit would be a “shining example” of what the War on Poverty would do for a city; guess he just didn’t realize the “shining” would be that city in flames.
The movie Robocop was entirely too optimistic in its depiction of Detroit.
The problem with Detroit, is the same problem with other major cities like Atlanta, Chicago, L.A., Philly, Newark, and NYC, to name but a few. It’s not too many guns. It’s not simply too much crime. It’s too many blacks! These cities are glaring examples of liberal social experiments that went horribly wrong. And over the decades, the only solution bleeding-heart liberals have come up with is to bury these cities in our tax money. The result has been, as usual, they made everything worse.
You keep any eye on those cities in late summer if the Marxist-in-Chief is seen as losing the election. And if he is, and if you live in one of those places, you should “make sure you understand and exercise” your 2nd Amendment rights.
Thank you for pointing out that demographic displacement. Most media sources won’t mention that though we all see it at least those of us unfortunate to live in “diverse” areas.
Yeah, the people who built Detroit and America have left Detroit. Those who infest it now are…well…never mind don’t get me started.
Anybody who gets blog comments & e-mail from the diverse illiterates out there will hear about “long hot summer” and they’re not talking about the weather. A lot of criminal blacks are happy to destroy anything even their own neighborhoods. That’s their culture – destruction.

Let it burn and anywhere else these animals reside. Want to fix it? Eliminate the problem.
Cut the fire department budget – or at least the $100,000 annual pensions most of these guys will receive – and use the proceeds to knock down the abandoned houses. (Looking for an Esquire magazine article from ~2010 that profiled the demolition teams. Two hours, tops, to knock over a house and haul away the debris.)
Say, shouldn’t environmentalists enjoy this? The buildings are gone and the land is being reclaimed by the elements.

Well, isn’t it just interesting that 95% of what I see are WHITE firemen? Obama will make it 95% BLACK in his 2nd term and Detroit will green again. Whites let Detroit burn. Obama and Holder will hold them accountable. And who are those Uncle Tom blacks working with those whites? The KKK is starting the fires. When blacks rule, it’s an African economic paradise. I guess I don’t understand why they don’t burn down abandoned structures for training? I donated a mobile home to the city for them to burn in my area. I believe it was Edward Glaeser that showed people don’t like to live in an area where the weather sucks in February. Also I can’t believe that couple buying an apartment, it appears they are rent controlled. Good luck recovering your investment. Funny how that fire fighter is critical of foreign wars, but not a city so intrusive that the floor plan of a food truck has to be approved down to the model # of the equipment.
Detroit 187 probably was canceled by ABC because of the way it showed the devastation in the city.

Take a trip east or west bound through Detroit on I-94, to live as the road warrior. The inner city area speed limit is 55mph, and the flow says otherwise. The flash floods on the interstate from thunderstorm downpours are the worse. Come visit us some time and never forget the future of BRA.
