Boy Scouts Stand Firm Against Homosexual Agenda
It takes spine to stand for what is right in opposition to what is politically correct. Once again, the Boy Scouts prove they have it:
After a confidential two-year review, the Boy Scouts of America on Tuesday emphatically reaffirmed its policy of excluding gays, ruling out any changes despite relentless protest campaigns by some critics.
The BSA is supposed to instill Christian values. Obviously these do not include the homosexual depravity that has become so politically fashionable among our ruling elite. Equally obvious is the danger of sending kids into the woods with Jerry Sandusky types.
But there is a price to be paid for standing up to the degenerate establishment. Here’s the lead paragraph in Truthdig's take on the story:

Having been a scout and my son was a scout for a time as well I am glad that the Boy Scouts are standing against the Perverted Marxist agenda. What would be great is if they could actually stop the constant harassment from these Scumbags which will bring this perverted agenda up again and again till they have enough support to finally convert the Boy Scouts into a Homo indoctrination organization, much like they were able to do with Girl Scouts. Defeating the Marxist by voting them out of office or attacking them on the web is only half the battle we need to drag them out of every American institution that has been infected with these parasites.
If Americans had the strength and brains to follow the Boy Scouts example of how to live a good, clean life, we wouldn’t be the living example of FUBAR that we have become.

Yesterday I learned that the wealthy son of a friend of the family who had “married” his homosexual lover who is a producer at ABC had contracted to have a surrogate have “their” twins for $200,000. Thinking of this story and the unborn twins who will be subjected to such a perpetual display of perversion made me sick.
This pair will be celebrated by the media. I only see this as symptomatic of the fall of Western Civilization and wonder when the tide will turn. Every fringe group is initially tolerated in the scheme of opposition. Once the “opposition” becomes the party in power, the fringes are discarded, usually violently and without mercy.

The Boy Scouts encourage the parents to join the troop when the boy does. Many troops I work with have as many adults as boys. I only have one son, and I joined when he did. I still work with Scout troops in my area, even though my son is grown and moved away.
Please do not read anything into those numbers. They are perfectly appropriate!

I remember the Troop I was in had a Scoutmaster, an Assistant Scoutmaster, and about 12 to 16 Scouts at any given time.

One of the changes that the Scouts have made to protect boys is called Two-Deep Leadership, in which there is NEVER a time when an adult is alone with a child. Also, logistically, it is better to have many adults on campouts with that many boys.

The youth and adult applications both state: “The Boy Scouts of America maintains that no member can grow into the best kind of citizen without recognizing an obligation to God and, therefore, recognizes the religious element in the training of the member, but it is absolutely nonsectarian in its attitude toward that religious training” There’s more, but that’s enough.
The push for allowing homosexuals into the BSA has nothing to do with “equality,” “compassion,” “fairness,” or gay rights — it has everything to do with destroying a traditional, faith-based, moral institution that is an obstacle blocking a bigger agenda. How long before federal law prohibits organizations like the Scouts from not admitting gays? Look for some kind of judicial activism designed send the Scouts into oblivion.

In fact, our Scoutmaster lost an eye when he was just a boy. So, during WWII, he was a camp guard at a German POW camp in Mississippi. He wouldn’t hesitate to put a boot in your but…(but, I loved the old man like a Dad. He passed away a few years back)
In one sense I want to thank all the gay rights groups and their supports for their attacks on the Boy Scouts. They have done us a service BUT NOT!!!, in the manner they expect. They have once again demonstrated the principle that in this life you have one of only two options: seek the favor of man or serve the God that created you. BUT you have to choose it is one or the other. I stand with the BSA against homosexualilty. If that makes me a hate filled, extremist biogt, then thank you for that badge of honor. Scouts you have your duty, do it. Lest any one missunderstand, enaging in sexual relations with some one of the same sex, was, is and allways will be wrong, immoral and sinful. Period.

I think the BSA should add a new merit badge – “Standing Up To the Gay Agenda.” I would have warn it proudly on my uniform! In any case, your own hatred apparently needs no justification – it just springs from within you without any apparent cause or whatnot.
Joe, the Catholic Church never permitted gay priests, but some gay men did enter the priesthood. Some controlled their homosexuality, some did not and did much damage to the Church. The damage was compounded by bishops that just transferred offenders from parish to parish, instead of pushing them out of the priesthood. The Church never had a way to deal with pedophiles. Now, all dioceses have protections in place.
The homosexual activists have harassed the Boy Scouts because of their recognition of God, and because many churches sponsor Cub Scout and Boy Scout troops. What better way to undermine Christian values than to have homosexuals insert themselves in a respected organization.
I hope the BSA always stands firm. I’ve sent a letter to the president of the organization, Robert Mazzuca by way of the American Family Association and I would encourage other MB regulars to do the same.

Kudos to the Boy Scouts of America – an organization for which I have been a proud volunteer and which counts my son (and soon, his two brothers) as a member.
Although we live in a liberal elitist mecca of the midwestern US, we have not once cowered to those who would challenge our right to teach morality to our children…
Indeed, my favorite example is a woman who harassed us during a cub scout popcorn sale in front of a high-end supermarket. She wanted to know if we “still” precluded “gay little boys” from being members. She went so far as to suggest to the boys that they should quit such a “bigoted” organization. One leader tried to dispel the situation by offering the name and contact information for our local counsel representative. She would have nothing of it and then, after doing her shopping, approached us again. In the process she told my son she felt sorry for him to have us as parents, and again asked if we do not let “gay little boys” be members. I calmly told her off:
“Ma’am, these boys range in age from 6-10. If they at that age are in crisis regarding their sexual identity, then they are likely being abused, rather than protected, by their parents and should be removed from their homes.”
She left in a huff.
Our boys are still cheered in every parade in which they participate.
“On my honor,” “duty to God” and other components of the Boy Scout Law and Oath are more than just words. They mean something to everyone in that organization. It has persevered for 100 years, and will continue to do so for hundreds more as long as it holds true to its principles.
Liberals can seek to rewrite the US Constitution as they choose. They shall not think for a minute, however, that I will allow them to rewrite the Bible or stand in the way of my right to teach its foundations to my children.

I happen to be an Eagle Scout, and a brotherhood member of the Order of the Arrow, and I now have made the regrettable decision to not allow my children to be part of the organization that shaped the very soul of who I am as a human being. Through all of my scouting career I have been taught by this institution to respect all humans, to leave the world better than when I arrived, and this is a real travesty to such an otherwise amazing organization. The statement of being morally “straight” does not refer to being sexually “straight” in the common language, in fact the terminology of being “straight” or “gay” came into popular usage far after this simple statement of beliefs was put into place. I also find it hypocritical that an organization that includes merit medals specifically for all religions, including muslim, jewish, and nearly all denominations of christianity, not to mention buddhist beliefs, now finds this specific issue to be morally reprehensible. This argument of the BSA being solely founded upon Christian morality is completely false, and that is coming from a life long member and mentor. On a side note I also happen to be a life long Lutheran, god fearing American. I love the Boy Scouts so much that I have a tattoo of my Eagle Scout Emblem and Order of the Arrow insignia emblazoned upon my back. Until this “official” statement of beliefs is overturned it is with a regretful heart that I must no longer support the Boy Scouts of America in any official capacity. Please note that I am not alone in this respect, every one of my fellow Eagle Scouts with which I have had the pleasure to learn and grow and am still very much in contact with feels the same way.
What does “morally straight” mean if the organization were to approve of a depraved lifestyle and allow it to compromise parental rights to make those decisions?
Matt, you had to share the values of scouting to achieve the rank of Eagle. I’ve sat on multiple Eagle Boards of Review and the scout’s sense of morality is a subject that is usually discussed from the beginning of the process. If you misrepresented yourself in that process or no longer share those views, you are welcome to relinquish the rank and your membership in OA, which is BSA’s honor society whose members are of advanced rank and are elected by fellow scouts.
Bottom line, the organization is free to control the requirements for membership, which is entirely voluntary. In this era of political correctness, it is offensive that others will attempt to force their values on any person or organization, simply because they choose to have a different set of values. I invite you and those who share your views to create your own progressive organization and welcome leaders of diverse sexual orientations to shape the minds of children. I will be among the so-called “bigots” who do not allow their children to join.
