Bloomberg Clamps Down on Baby Formula

There is no aspect of your life into which nanny state totalitarian Michael Bloomberg will not try to intrude — including how you feed your baby:

Mayor Bloomberg is pushing hospitals to hide their baby formula behind locked doors so more new mothers will breast-feed.

Starting Sept. 3, the city will keep tabs on the number of bottles that participating hospitals stock and use — the most restrictive pro-breast-milk program in the nation. …

Under Latch On NYC, new mothers who want formula won’t be denied it, but hospitals will keep infant formula in out-of-the-way secure storerooms or in locked boxes like those used to dispense and track medications.

With each bottle a mother requests and receives, she’ll also get a talking-to. Staffers will explain why she should offer the breast instead.

As always with ostensibly voluntary initiatives, this points the way to a future ban. Before long New Yorkers who prefer using baby formula will have to smuggle it into Bloomberg’s dystopia, or buy it on the black market.

He’ll be the judge how you should feed your baby.

    Achtung !

Women of the Fatherland: it is hereby decreed that your breasts (like your uterus) are under the absolute control of the d-cRAT socialist party. We will tell you what you can and cannot do with them. There will no deviation from our master plan. If so directed by us, you WILL have a taxpayer-funded abortion since our glorious socialist society cannot permit babies to be born if WE don’t like it’s gender, if WE don’t like it’s hair, skin or eye color or if it might grow up to be a Republican or worse: a job-creating capitalist. In the unlikely event we do not murder your unborn fetus, we demand that you breast feed the baby following our instructions precisely to ensure it develops into a socialist slug, slacker, deadbeat, liar, freeloader, loser, taxpayer-leech, cheat and/or pothead that continues to suck on the teat of the BIG GOVERNMENT NANNY-STATE throughout its existence.

Resistance is futile – all Hail TheONE !

(Remember, the Republicans are the ones with a “War on Women”)

“I’m barack HUSSEIN obama, and I APPROVE OF THIS MESSAGE. Allahu Akbar!”

Rhetorical question: What’s the difference between lunatic-left d-cRAT socialist men’s control over women and radical islamic muslim men’s control over women?

Both of my kids would have starved to death if they would have had to rely on breastfeeding alone. It’s nothing against my wife – but the fact is that when it comes to boobs and milk production, size doesn’t matter!

  • Laurie

“….or buy it on the black market.”

I look forward to making a bundle of money selling baby formula to leftist libtard females.

If he’s so concerned about a big baby sucking on something he should go bother Barry and Reggie.

  • this shows the people of nyc are imbecels keep voting fer the bastard

  • AC

It’s a blue state, so naturally, they want to get kids on the teat from a young age.

All I’ve got to say is stay the hell out of LA.

This shocked me, because it’s such an intensely personal matter. He’s got to be stopped.

The “sheeple proles” of NYC deserve that pos, “Bloomin idjit”!
They’ll keep voting in a$$holes like that ’till hell freezes over.
I have no sympathy for them.

Excuse me? “Keep your laws off my body”?

Neo-commies thought they would get more freedom when the revolution came. Now the best excuse they can come up with is “it’s not PURE communism/socialism/liberalism/progressivism”.

Does this asshat have to control all mundane activities in the city?

Now Bloomberg has always been an interfering busybody trying to impose his will on everyone else, but lately he’s been issuing new and bizarre commands, one after another, at a record pace. Zing, zing, zing — like that. Is there some political advantage for doing so at this time? Is he trying to get himself or Obama re-elected and thinks that unilaterally issued diktats over the minutia of life will help the cause?

Bloomberg got term limits overturned so he could run for re-election even though the law didn’t allow it. Is he now a permanent fixture, or will term limits ever kick in, or (don’t laugh) will New Yorkers finally vote the bum out (OK, you can laugh)?

In 1993, mooselimb jihadi terrorists bombed the World Trade Center. The sheeple of NYC thought it a one-off and after cleaning up and re-building the parking garage, went back to sleep.

On Sept. 11, some mooslelimbs returned to “finish the job” their ideological brethren could not accomplish. They brought the WTC down and damaged the economy of the entire U.S. which is struggling to this day to recover. The idjits in NYC elected a true Progressive asshat as mayor, bickered about what to rebuild for nearly a decade, then finally went back to sleep.

That is where we are today. NYC has a nanny-state billionaire douchebag for a mayor and the vast majority of citizens there are snoozing comfortably, blissfully unaware of what is to come while their leader bans Big Gulps, cigarettes, and baby formula. When the jihadis return a third time and set off a nuke or bio bomb, it will be REAL hard for me to feel any sympathy for the residents of that city.

  • snuss

It seems that this boob, Bloomberg, wants a REAL “NANNY-State”. Will the City mandate feeding babies only by registered wet-nurses, next?

  • Bob Roberts

I am 100% FOR encouraging women to breast feed instead of going to formula.

I am 100% AGAINST this way of doing it.

    This is ridiculous.

  • Bob Roberts

The blue residents of blue states, counties and cities get no sympathy from me. It’s the reds among them who have to put up with their nonsense for whom I feel sorry.

  • steve

    Liberal logic:

We have come to the point where a woman must have a free, unfettered “choice” to kill her baby at taxpayer expense, but can’t choose what to feed her baby once it is born.

I don’t understand why any woman should be shamed for feeding their infant formula.
    http://www.mayoclinic.com/health/infant-formula/PR00058
Any “health risk” is utterly dwarfed by the dangers inherent in strapping the kid in and streaking down the expressway at 60 mph
Should Bloomey ban cars too ?

I am sure he is working on it. He proposed this “congestion pricing tax” 4 years ago:

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/New_York_congestion_pricing

He has some ideological allies who are even more radical and want to ban all privately owned vehicles in NYC:

I once wanted to visit NYC to see America’s biggest city and the sights and attractions there. I know now I will never go there. Too bad. I can spend my money in the heartland where it is much more appreciated.

Jerry – Absofrickenlutely. New Yorkers must the dumbest SOB’s on planet Earth. No one in their right mind would vote for a clown hammer like Adolph Bloomberg.

Why is it that, according to the liberal left, a woman has the right to choose to kill a baby in her womb, but once it moves a few inches outside of her she cannot choose how to feed it?

Do rights vary based on the juxtaposition of the infant and woman in three dimensional space?
Do the labia serve as a rights event horizon?
    Is there a rights radius?
Will Reich’s Marshal Bloomberg be waiting to catch the infant as it falls free of the woman’s body so he can take control of its life immediately? If so, who cuts the cord?

Seems like more regulation is needed to clear up these very troubling issues OR vile, fascistic, totalitarian scum like Napoleon Bloomberg could just get their face out of everyone’s personal private business.

We spent some time in Wyoming this year
    Very scenic state
    Friendly people
Everywhere we went the locals were hospitable and would point you to the best places to be, many times making it a point to stop and chat
    And to top it off

It was bad enough explaining to the nurses that I was going to have to supplement–based on three previous babies’ worth of experience–and then describe in detail to the “lactation consultant” what my practices were. Now this dimwit wants to apply shaming tactics to add to the discomfort?

…I do wonder if he was a formula baby himself. It would explain a few things. *evil grin*

In the ersatz “war on women” would that qualify as tit-for-tat?

In my grocery store, baby formula is under lock and key because tweekers use it to cut meth.

Damn tweekers, now I can’t buy allergy medicine without showing my ID.

  • vladdy

Wait till they put an upper limit on weaning. Bloomberg will probably make it 5 or 6, so we’ll see strapping young children still glued to mom’s chest.

Also waiting for when he demands no toilt-training or pacifier removal before the age of 5 — too traumatic.
