Imagine a fantasy world in which liberal totalitarians were able to take all guns out of all private hands. This is how safe it would be:
A 14-year-old male faces multiple charges after he allegedly snuck into a Swift River Road home in Cummington (Massachusetts) and beat a nationally known illustrator with a shovel.

The teen continued to beat her while she lay on the floor trying to deflect the attack and call for help, she said.
Good thing we live in the real world, where people have guns. This usually makes for happier stories:
Detectives say that, at about 2 a.m. [yesterday], Christian Reynolds Robinson entered a home in the 1400 block of 21st Street [in Sarasota, Florida] uninvited.
Robinson, of the 2300 block of North Osprey Avenue, reportedly waved a gun at three occupants in the home and demanded they leave the house.
One of the occupants, 22-year-old Frank Lee Green, pulled a handgun from his pocket and shot Robinson.
Police say Green has a concealed weapons permit. They have not charged Green with a crime. …
Sarasota County court records show 30 criminal cases filed against Robinson since 2001, mostly on drug possession charges and for repeated arrests for driving with a suspended license.
A 2003 burglary and aggravated battery case against him was dropped.

Liberals fixate on the tool, rather than how the tool is used. No cry from liberals to control the availability of shovels (you local Home Depot is selling instruments of maham!!!).
Hint to liberals….tools make the weak so they are not the prey of the strong. A 110 pound woman, despite years of training, is almost never the physical match of a 240 pound man intent on doing her harm.
BTW, the same thing applies to countries. How does a country of 300 million repel a country of a billion intent upon invading and taking over? Superior tools.

Story One is a Liberal’s wet dream: no gun used, property re-allocated, possibly a triumph for Social Justice (depending on the races of victim and attacker) AND most importantly THE DEMONSTRATED NEED FOR MORE GOVERNMENT AUTHORITY TO PROTECT.
Story two is being painted with a Liberal spin, “entered a home in the 1400 block of 21st Street [in Sarasota, Florida] uninvited.” Surely an attempt to lessen the crime committed. “Uninvited” makes it sound as if he was a mere party crasher or waiting to be “invited”. Then the story goes on to say “Police say Green has a concealed weapons permit. They have not charged Green with a crime.”
As if shooting an armed intruder who broke into your home and waved a gun in your face – may be a crime and is only awaiting “proper determination” from the authorities.
The sad part of Story Two is that it was ever reported to the police. A headshot and some garbage bags could have made certain that no problem was ever reported.
Now Mr. Green may be charged at a later date and subjected to Justice for Trayvon treatment. The happiest endings to these stories are the ones never written.

The NRA magazine (print edition) and the online edition of “Americas First Freedom” has a segment called “The Armed Citizen” that details some of the over one million instances where citizens use firearms to defend themselves or others from the ne’er do wells that prey on the helpless or clueless.
Well worth the read since you will NOT hear any of it from the dominant, liberal, establishment mass media.

Story one is another good reminder of how liberals view the world through rose colored glasses. Jane Dyer is obviously a lib, who thought nothing about a strange boy standing on her driveway with a shovel, despite having had another break-in before by another kid out of the same foster home. She didn’t even think about her personal safety, going inside and locking the doors, arming herself (if she had a gun), immediately calling her husband or the police. For her lack of vigilance, she was nearly beaten to death by the shovel wiedling boy. I’ll hold my breath that libs answer to this is to have strict “shovel” control laws (they are only interested in disarming law abiding citizens).
“Dyer, 63, said she was outside her Cummington home when she spotted the teenager standing at the bottom of her driveway with a shovel, but thought nothing of it. The family has a residence in Northampton. Dyer was alone at the time.
She re-entered the house a short time later and surprised the youth, who she said had apparently entered the house unseen and was lying in wait.
The youth struck her in the back of the head with the shovel and continued to hit her with it after she dropped to the ground, while she attempted to deflect his blows with her arms, legs, hands and feet, she said.
Dyer said she has no idea why the juvenile entered the house nor why he attacked her, except that he seemed to think she was someone else. She said nothing was taken from the house and robbery didn’t seem to be a motive.
Dyer said she pleaded with the teen to break off the attack, offering him help, asking him why he was hurting her and telling him that she was a grandmother – all in hopes that he would stop.
“You’ll be in a lot more trouble if you don’t stop now,” Dyer said she told him. He stopped striking her with the shovel and ran off, Dyer said.
Dyer’s husband, Tom, said Monday he believes the suspect is receiving foster care at a nearby home. The incident marks the second time someone from that program has allegedly broken into their house, the first occurring about four years ago, he said.
“We’re not waiting for a third,” Tom Dyer said.
Dyer said he’s sensitive to the needs of at-risk youth who need supervision and services like foster care, but believes the rural location isn’t appropriate, and he would like to see it shut down.
“It’s unfair to the kids,” he said.
He said that there is little for the youth in the program to do in such a remote area on a dead-end road, and it may be that a lack of activity options contributed to the July attack.
A message left at the home that Tom Dyer identified as the location of the foster program Monday afternoon was not returned.”

The second story shows a vigilant homeowner exercising his right of self defense which should be the end of any inquiry, but as the libtard newpaper comments:

Since the late perpetrator (30 criminal arrests) was obviously a son of Obama (if he had one), from his mug shot in the second story, and it occurred in Florida, post-Trayvon, the second amendment and right of self defense is questionable, and a question remains with authorities whether the victim should be charged with a crime, a la Zimmerman. Charges depend on if Green is of Caucasian origin and if the racial grievance mafia is haranguing. In saner times this would not be an issue and Green would have been applauded for exercising his duty of self-defense.
Only if there is fear and reason within the intruder. From all the self-defense stories I read, I can tell you that so many criminals out there today are either too hopped up or too twisted to feel the fear that you or I would feel.
Some of the more viscous criminals even believe that decent people will display guns but refuse to actually pull the trigger.
There is no shortage of stories ending with a shot goblin after the homeowner challenged the intruder and the intruder chose to continue advancing or making furtive movements anyway.
The personal defense writers recommend that the first (and last) thing an intruder hears should be the gunshot itself. Making a show out of chambering a round squanders precious little time when the homeowner doesn’t even know how many intruders he may be facing.
