Hail to the empty chair…all 75,000 of ‘em at Bank Of America Stadium.

I checked with the weather bureau. I can see why the moved Obama’s acceptance speech. They call for warm conditions with a chance of mugginess. Now, who could expect crowds to sit through severe weather like that?

    November, baby.

  2. Granny Jan says:

Thanks, Dave. I got it right about where the speech would be held because those were the only pictures I had. The chair must have had a premonition.

  3. Air2air says:

Something to worry about (perhaps). The overall network ratings for the convention first nights show the DNC 6% higher than the RNC. This is viewership across all channels.

Can anybody come up with a reason not to be concerned?

  4. Granny Jan says:

    @ Air2air
No I can’t. I’m very concerned especially after Michelle Obama’s performance received such high marks.

@ Anon-Y-Mouse said last night that we shouldn’t be worrying because it was to be expected.

Debbie Wasserhag Schitz being misquoted, now caught in a lie by audio:

The Washington Examiner earlier reported that Wasserman Schultz had quoted Israel’s ambassador to the US, Michael Oren, as saying “ that what the Republicans are doing is dangerous for Israel.”

“I didn’t say he said that,” Wasserman Schultz insisted. “And unfortunately, that comment was reported by a conservative newspaper. It’s not surprising they would deliberately misquote me. What I always say is that unfortunately the Republicans have made Israel a political football, which is dangerous for Israel. And Ambassador Oren has said that we can’t ever suggest that there is any daylight between the two parties on Israel because there isn’t. And that that’s harmful to Israel. That’s what I said, and that is accurate.”

The reporter for that conservative newspaper, Philip Klein, responded today … by releasing the audio of Wasserman Schultz’ claim:

“We know — and I’ve heard no less than Ambassador Michael Oren say this — that what the Republicans are doing is dangerous for Israel. They’re undermining Israel’s security by suggesting that the United States and Israel don’t have anything other than a unique and close and special relationship.”

The remark may have been reported by a “conservative newspaper,” but it was reported accurately. Debbie Wasserman Schultz flat-out lied when caught by Klein and the Examiner for lying originally about Ambassador Oren.

Similarly, Democrats really didn’t refer to Republicans as Nazis, they just being “misrepresented”:

South Carolina Democratic Party Chairman Dick Harpootlian compared the state’s Republican female governor, Nikki Haley, to Adolf Hitler’s mistress and eventual wife, while speaking Wednesday at a delegation breakfast in Charlotte today.

Reached by FoxNews.com, Harpootlian disputed any suggestion he was making a comparison to Nazis.

“I wasn’t saying she is Eva Braun or is like Eva Braun. I was saying she is hiding out. … She is reclusive. She is not transparent,” he said. “I wasn’t comparing her to Eva Braun other than she was in a bunker. I don’t even know much about Eva Braun, just that she hung out in a bunker.”

Amanda Loveday, the state party’s executive director, also told FoxNews.com, “I don’t think it was a comparison,” and said Harpootlian is “misrepresented a lot.”

Pat Lehman, the dean of the Kansas Democratic delegation, likened the talking points of Mitt Romney’s presidential campaign to the “big lie” strategy used by the Nazis, according to a report by the Wichita Eagle.

“It’s like Hitler said, if you’re going to tell a lie, tell a big lie, and if you tell it often enough and say it in a loud enough voice, some people are going to believe you,” Lehman reportedly said this week.

A spokeswoman with the Kansas Democratic Party was not immediately available for comment when contacted Wednesday.

Similarly, the chairman of the California Democratic Party earlier this week compared Republican tactics — and specifically Paul Ryan’s convention remarks — to the tactics of Nazi propagandist Joseph Goebbels

Republicans quickly condemned the language. The California GOP called it “desperate, deranged rhetoric” that Democrats were using to “distract” voters from their “failed record.”

Burton later issued a statement claiming he didn’t actually call Republicans Nazis and noting he didn’t actually use the word “Nazi” — though he made repeated references to Goebbels.

Air – Yes, only Obama Zombies watch those channels anyway, regardless of what is on. Conservatives generally watch Foxnews so it makes sense that the other channels combined would have a greater overall viewership than Fox. Since more zombies make up that majority the viewership is skewed by far more than 6% toward the Comrade Chairman’s Party.

Check the Rasmussen poll of LIKELY voters today. After night one of the DNC Romney is UP. Stay tuned.

  7. Clingtomyguns says:

Democrap keynote speaker Julian Castro’s mama, outed as a card carrying member of La Raza Unida (The Race), refers to the Texans who battled Mexicans in the Alamo, as “so-called heroes [who] were really ‘a bunch of drunks and crooks and slaveholding imperialists who conquered land that didn’t belong to them.’”

“But as a little girl I got the message — we [the Mexicans] were losers,” she told New York Times Magazine. “I can truly say that I hate that place [the Alamo - pride of the City of San Antonio] and everything it stands for [i.e., Texans valliant fight for Independence].”

Not to be outdone, The 37-year-old Hispanic mayor told New York Times Magazine that upon being elected mayor in 2009 he promptly hung in his private office a 1971 La Raza Unida City Council campaign poster that featured his mother.

Neither Castro nor his mother returned calls seeking comment.

Castro’s twin brother, Joaquin, is running for a Texas congressional seat this year.

I suppose Julian and La Raza mama were also “misquoted” by some conservative news outlet. Oh wait, it was the New York Times.

  8. Anon-Y-Mouse says:

The wheels are coming off the Dems in a big way. (Personally, I think viewership is up because people are waiting to see the next disaster…that’s just a guess).

But viewership means squat. Hell, I’M watching, so what? That is certainly not going to translate into a vote for the party of “No God, No Israel, No Bama”.

The floor fight, the angry tone, the leftist rhetoric, the hatred for America and it’s core values…those things are going to matter.

    November, baby. Be VERY afraid!

  9. Son of Taz says:

I wouldn’t be concerned about the higher ratings. Y’all know that train and car wrecks always attract a crowd, and the dems are the biggest train wreck ever seen.

  10. Sam Adams says:

I almost feel sorry for Barack.

Couldn’t fill the stadium…had to move to the smaller, more intimate venue. Those 30k students bussed down to fill the stadium will be pissed but that can’t be helped.

Next….Barack is going to forgo the balloons dropping from the ceiling at the end of his talk. Can’t be helped, though….nobody ordered balloons. Of course Sandra Fluke has her stash of condoms, but she has other plans.

Then…the Dems leave God and Jerusalem out of their platform (they also leave out the condemnation of Hamas). Barack calls and says “you have to get God and Jerusalem back in.” So an amendment is proposed, the voice vote is taken; a 2/3rds vote is required to amend the platform, the ayes and nays are close, but probably more nays. Let’s try this again (dems hate it when elections don’t come out right). Another vote; more nays. To quote George Clooney “Damn; we’re in a tight spot.” What to do…let’s take another vote. It may be close, but probably as many nays and ayes (nowhere near a 2/3 majority). And in true democrat fashion “In the Chair’s Opinion, the ayes have it.” The chair is victorious over the unwashed masses of democrat delegates.

    Yeah….it is a train wreck.

  11. Sam Adams says:

BTW, did anyone choke down Sandra Fluke’s speech? I take it that if Mitt Romney wins, Sandra will have to put away a stash of hangers to keep her from being punished, since Romney probably won’t pay for her birth control (and her stash of condoms will be redistributed).

  12. Alphamail says:

    Sam Adams says:

Sandra Fluke does NOT redistribute condoms!

    She re-uses them.
