DNC: We All Belong to the Government

The Democrat Party has dropped all references to God from its platform. It isn’t that Dems aren’t religious. They just worship a different god — namely the institutionalized coercion we call Government:

“Government is the only thing we all belong to” stands in stark contrast to Clint Eastwood’s important reminder at the RNC that “We own this country. … Politicians are employees of ours.”

America has reached a fork in the road.

On tips from wingmann, J, Artfldgr, Ghost of FA Hayek, and Bob Roberts.

I’ve indicated on this blog for years that stupid liberals want to replace God with themselves.

    They. Are. Sick.

Well, elect the Kenyan Punk for another four and that statement will be true.

But the sudden “severe weather” in Charlotte tells me the prospects for all of us being a wholly-owned subsidiary of Obama Inc. are pretty much nil.

The lying press, the skewed polls, the hate-speech from the DNC…all of that…can’t fill seats. Those empty chairs speak loud and clear.

    November, baby.

  3. Anon-Y-Mouse says:

Oh, and breaking news: The Dems just put back “God” and “Jerusalem” in their platform.

Chicken shits…they don’t even have the balls to stand behind what they really believe.

Like everything else “progressive”, it’s a lie.

They’ll probably put “God” back in, but they’ll call him “Allah” instead. Welcome to the Demonic National Convention.

Like everything else “progressive”, it’s a case of incrementalism. They just moved too fast on those. “Oops! Back up! We’ll go down that road a little later. Apparently, we need a few more steps between here and there.”

Only three votes were necessary for the chair to rule in favor of the ayes.

Just wondering; with the dems voting in favor of abortion at any time, for any reason…..

Who will pay for their stay in the rest home, and who will wipe their….noses?

    Anon
It was just reported that OBAMA overrode the delegates and put God and Jerusalem back in.
    Hence the boos
It feels good to control the narrative.

  10. Jodie says:

I thought it was funny that after their non-stop praise of abortion at the DNC last night, at the end of the evening the media commented on how great it was to see so many children in the audience.

    Obviously it did not work…

@ Jimbo, “…stupid liberals want to replace God with themselves.”

Actually, it is government that replaces God. When a culture eliminates God, the religious impulse does not disappear. The impulse gets redirected into politics, and politics becomes the religion. This leads to the growth of cults in God-less societies, including the cult of progress, and the cult of personality in which a person fills the role of God. This is rampant in Leftism where God is either murdered, or, at best, shoved into the fringes. This causes mile-long lines of zealots waiting to see their messiah, as happened in my ultra-lefty hometown last weekend. Worshiping a human being is dangerous, but worshiping a politician (a politician!!) is insane. The philosopher Eric Vogelin made a career studying the modern phenomenon of political religions.

Or, as Chesterton said, “Once abolish the God, and government becomes the God.”

UPDATE – It was all just an “oversight” nothing to see here … nasty floor fight erupts on political expediency vote to restore God and Jerusalem to the platform after party leaders buckle to criticism by Paul Ryan and other conservatives.

    http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2012/09/05/democrats-restore-references-to-god-jerusalem-in-platform/

But, the godless ones prevail in rejecting Christian gift baskets — The Democratic National Committee banned dozens of Charlotte churches from distributing gift baskets to delegates because the congregations hold values that are contrary to the party platform, according to local religious leaders.

This is self-parody at its worst. Imagine the eruption by the MSM if the Republicans had left God out of their platform and then weaseled his name back in with a floor fight.

  15. Clingtomyguns says:

“The Democrats have spit in the face of God they spit in the face of unborn children,” Benham said. “They spit in the face of marriage. They are spitting in God’s face. Americans need to rise up and see to it they have their day and are escorted out of power in this country.”

In spite of the rebuff Benham said there are 18 different groups across the city praying at 7:14 a.m. and 7:14 p.m.

What a great single question contrast:

OBAMA – We all belong to government

    v.

Romney – The people own this country and the politicians work for us.

Someone (Rasmussen) needs to conduct a poll of those two questions as to which view the people of this country prefer. Those who want to belong to the government vote for Obama, those who think the government belongs to them, vote for Romney – easy.

  17. J says:

    Oh my: Boos at convention as Dems reinstate language on God and Jerusalem in platform;

    Update: Obama pushed for language to be added;

    Update: Or did he?

    Update: Will MSNBC cover?

Actually democrats don’t believe they belong to government; they believe that everyone else should belong to government. Democrats continue to be the party of slavery. This time, however, it is just economic slavery.

  19. Sam Adams says:

    From The Blaze:
Dems were asked how it feels to belong to the government:
Here are the top 5 responses:

“It feels like one big happy family to belong to the government, because if we feel that way, we are more safer [sic], um, we should feel the government should be able to help us and be able to take care of us.”
“Who knows, I haven’t never had another feeling, so I can’t tell you how it feels not to belong to the government.”
“Regardless of where you live, you are going to be owned by someone at some point.”
“I believe that, but unfortunately the Republicans don’t.”
    “Feels great, I support that.”

    Best of the Rest:

“We all do belong to the government as U.S. citizens.”

“We are all part of our community, a national community as Americans.”

    “It makes you feel united.”
