Actually, the American auto industry was saved by Ford, which wouldn’t knuckle under to a government takeover.
Conventional bankruptcy without Obama’s interference on behalf of the UAW would have saved GM too. Instead it will be kept half alive with money stolen from us until the whole country goes bankrupt — which won’t take long if Obama is reelected.

Having witnessed the demented democrats oversight and collusion with the very entities that destroyed both the city of Detroit, virtually every little town that made parts for Detroit auto manufacturer machines and the general economy of the entire state of Michigan, 8 of those years under her direct oversight to say what washington did to the bond holders and the pension funds in favor of the UAW, this half witted Canadian socialist-communist pain in the ass should just shut up.

Romney & Co. better explain GM and better do it quickly lest the repeated lies continue to settle – they should find some people who had invested retirement funds which were amongst those bondholders that were given the shaft so that Obama could pay off the UAW & another example of gov. picking winners & losers + political cronyism. … not to mention that Forbes already predicts the company will be bankrupt again in short order. and – just like Solyndra – $30 billion of taxpayer $$$ toward another political payoff.

I noticed that too, Sheepdog. When did Ford ever take any federal money in the auto bailout? Last time I read their financial reporting, they really bit the bullet and survived on their own without the government handouts. Too bad Chrysler and GM can’t say the same.

@ TexasDoc- I read a separate article about that earlier today: no they never took any federal bailout money- but they thought it was great fun distributing their signs at the DNC. Sort of like a middle finger extended at the DNC.
