If This Were Still America, Obama Would Be Forced to Resign

The Instapundit makes a strong case for Obama’s resignation in light of the supposed Leader of the Free world siding with homicidal totalitarian mobs against the First Amendment liberties he is sworn to defend:

Just for the record, this is what it looked like for a man who made a film that made the Obama Administration uncomfortable:

Nakoula-Basseley-Nakoula

Here’s the key bit: “Just after midnight Saturday morning, authorities descended on the Cerritos home of the man believed to be the filmmaker behind the anti-Muslim movie that has sparked protests and rioting in the Muslim world.”

When taking office, the President does not swear to create jobs. He does not swear to “grow the economy.” He does not swear to institute “fairness.” The only oath the President takes is this one:

I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will faithfully execute the Office of President of the United States, and will to the best of my ability, preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States.

By sending — literally — brownshirted enforcers to engage in — literally — a midnight knock at the door of a man for the non-crime of embarrassing the President of the United States and his administration, President Obama violated that oath. You can try to pretty this up (It’s just about possible probation violations! Sure.), or make excuses or draw distinctions, but that’s what’s happened. It is a betrayal of his duties as President, and a disgrace.

For political purposes, local sheriff’s deputies were used to drag Nakoula in for “questioning” instead of federal agents, but there is no question they were acting with the blessings if not on the direct orders of the Obama Regime, which has openly sided with the Muslim mobs that killed our ambassador by denouncing Nakoula’s insignificant movie and repeating the preposterous lie that it caused the Middle East to go up in flames.

When you consider the implications of Obama’s siding with Muslim terrorists against the US Constitution, Nixon resigned over far less. But lacking a sense of shame and highly unlikely to be moved by what is best for America, not only will Obama refuse to resign, he will very possibly be reelected by an alliance of the clueless and the vile.

No photo better summarizes what America is degenerating into than the iconic shot of the brownshirts’ midnight visit to Nakoula. A few sample captions for it, via PJ Media:

Nakoula Basseley Nakoula

If we manage to pull the country out of its tailspin this November, this image will be remembered as the lowest point in our history. If not — and Obama is reelected — it will only be a foretaste of the nightmare to come. The higher you climb, the harder you fall — and America climbed to the very summit of human achievement, before liberalism rotted our souls away.

THIS IS WHAT I HAVE BEEN TRYING TO TELL YOU!

    THIS IS NOT STILL AMERICA!

OUR COUNTRY WAS OVERTHROWN IN A BLOODLESS COUP ON THE DAY THAT BARACK HUSSIEN OBAMA WAS SWORN INTO OFFICE!

WE ARE NOW LIVING UNDER A DEFACTO COMMUNIST DICTATORSHIP!

WAKE UP AND SMELL THE GULAGS!

  • Kanaka Girl

Meanwhile, Obama is in private talks with the President of Egypt and the Muslim Brotherhood, negotiating the release of the blind sheik who is serving a life sentence for the ’93 bombing of the World Trade Center. Next he’ll be releasing and/or pardoning all the Gitmo detainees and every other imprisoned terrorist. Treason!

  • realitysliberalbias

… and as always it devolves to me to piont out that this story is, in fact, false.

    Why was he arrested?

The terms of his parole (parole. Yes, a convicted meth dealer) dictated he could not use the internet. For things like… YouTube. A clear violation. Hence… he gets to speak with our civil authorities about his choice to do it anyway.

So… are in favor of the Rule of Law? Oh wait… we just want to make a partisan-hackish nonsensical point.

Damnitall… you are so insanely partisan (and wear so many tinfoil hats) that quite literally anything at all can become a call to arms.

    You people are incredibly stupid.

The grossly ignorant “I told you so” troll is back with his vomit.

The Obama puzzle has about five ugly pieces which are easily assembled by a third-grader and r.l.b. can’t seem to put them together.

The self-described master of pattern recognition is back trying to stuff square pegs into round holes.

“If This Were Still America, Obama Would Be Forced to Resign”

Typical for the “Blame America First” crowd, I guess. America is big POS according to Blount unless the guy he wants is in the White House. Then – and only then – is it a great country. What a patriot…..

    This is really great, though:

“…but there is no question they were acting with the blessings if not on the direct orders of the Obama Regime…”

So little question, in fact, that a link or any sort of proof is completely unnecessary!

The guy was picked up for violating terms of his probation. That he”s a criminal on probation is OK to the “blame the victim” crowd. Why don’t we just let him go? Who’s really responsible for anything, right Blount?

According to Blount, probation violations are just great – and cops should just let you do whatever you want despite your crimes. Got it.

So let’s review: a convicted criminal may have violated the terms of his parole to make this film and was detained for questioning.

    OR…

The Obama administration ordered his detention (no evidence) to squash his freedom of speech (no evidence) and so the president should step down. RIIIIIghhhhtttt….

This sounds like America -hating, criminal-coddling, paranoid lunacy to be honest

If Ashcroft would have done this the media shit storm would have been epic but since it is the halfbreed it is all covered up.

“The Obama puzzle has about five ugly pieces which are easily assembled by a third-grader and r.l.b. can’t seem to put them together.”

I find that conspiracy theorists generally trade in this sort of nonsense about patterns. They just fill in all of the missing gaps in their “reasoning” (no evidence that Obama was involved, the guy’s criminal record) with whatever they want to believe. There’s no rigor to it, and it always gets you wherever you wanted to go anyway, evidence (or lack of) be damned.

When someone calls you on it, just say something about them being naive to cover over your jumps of reasoning and lack of evidence and BAM, you get whatever you want.

I mean, I have no evidence, but can’t you see THE PATTERN????

  • anono-bot

“If Ashcroft would have done this the media shit storm would have been epic but since it is the halfbreed it is all covered up.”

So we’ve moved beyond needing proof that the Obama admin called for this, and now we’re comparing what would have happened had the Bush admin did the same.

Let me give you a hint about what would have happened jtm: nothing. And that’s even if we knew Ashcroft had done it. How do I know this?
Because that administration claimed it could revoke Habeas and the media barely paid attention. Just like they’re barely paying attention that Obama is doing that and worse now.

Those constitutional violations – that I have proof exist and result in people being idefinitely detained, not just brought in for questioning as they terms of their probation stipulate – are different, though. Republicans started those, so they’re OK by you I guess. Or maybe now that Obama is doing the same they’re not?

Another real question is: Will Obama hand the film makers over to Egyptian authorities, if the Muslim Brotherhood tells him to? Obama has the NDAA now. Remember when Clinton had a SWAT Team abduct Elian Gonzalez and deliver him to Castro in Cuba?

  • Jason

It’s quite simple. For decades, America had communism as its bogeyman. Then, America won the Cold War. Communism was finally defeated. There was peace. But some people will always need a bogeyman, and they’ll take one wherever they can get it. So an African-American man becomes President, and peoples’ fears, prejudices and insecurities come out full force to decry him as the ultimate bogeyman.

It’s sad. The Republican party has moved so far right that Eisenhower, Nixon and even Reagan wouldn’t recognize it anymore.

  • anono-bot

    “You lose come Novemeber.”

This is true, because we lose regardless of the outcome, mostly because of people like you on the left and right who cannot see reality because your blinded by the love of your stupid political movements.

Anything one side does is great, anything the other does is bad – and never ask for better or think for yourself.

So I agree. I lose in November.

    Realitys-liberal-bias: regarding your “argument”:

I’m glad to see that you’re so supportive of sending squads of brown-shirted cops to the home of a suspect to arrest him for his evil crimes.

That also means you have no problem with Sheriff Joe sending his deputies out to arrest illegal aliens (http://tinyurl.com/9d6d7to).

That’s great! I fully expect your next posting to this board a message that’s very supportive of Sheriff Joe! In fact, why don’t you send some money to his campaign to make sure he’s re-elected so that he can send out more deputies to arrest more illegals? Show us that how firmly you believe that law-breakers should be arrested by dozens of cops. Send money to Sheriff Joe today!

  • anono-bot

” Obama has the NDAA now.”

Which is why I won’t vote for Obama (among other things).

But the irony is wonderful. The same people who loved the PAtriot act ( put site:moonbattery.com “patriot act” into google), and sided hard w/ W over Padilla and revocation of Habeas (forchrissakes), now are upset about NDAA.

And vice versa. The liberals were foaming about these issues when W was in charge, but then thought NDAA (which is truly awful) was no big deal once Obama was in charge.

And this is what I mean. You guys reflexively condemn everything Obama does – even if it was the exact same thing W did (and most of his policies are the same on the economy and foreign policy).

So if you wanna know what’s wrong with America – stop pointing fingers and look in a mirror! ALL OF YOU are the problem! You’ve shut off your brains and chosen party over country. For shame.

It’s not too late to turn your brains back on, read and THINK about policy, and formulate an opinion that actually makes sense, be it left or right leaning.

  • M.Wilson

Because clearly they couldn’t just have his parole officer call him up and take care of things following standard protocol.

If you read the linked article, it does not dispute his parole status. It disputes the supposition that a midnight raid with a media entourage was necessary to carry out what should have been routine parole enforcement, which largely consists of your parole officer knocking on your door sometime during the day.

The issue is not that he was brought in for a parole violation. It’s that he was only prosecuted *after* his actions became politically embarrassing, and that the method of doing so is entirely overkill.

The only point where it may fall apart is in plausible deniability: maybe Obama wasn’t involved, maybe the person in charge of that city’s police department is a political hack that jumped at a chance in the spotlight. But no matter who actually made the call for that raid, it was the wrong move.

  • Alphamail

    realitysliberalbias

I’ve put many a suspect into the L.A. County jail and for a myriad of reasons – parole violation being one.

The cops had plenty of time and opportunity to arrest this guy by now, but politics have come into play and the head law enforcement officer (Holder) has obviously forwarded a memo “suggesting” the L.A.C.S. look at this guy and make an arrest. Even large police departments respond to the Attorney General – a quid pro quo – without necessarily questioning motive.

Even if Holder didn’t do that, the larger theme is that our government is over-stepping its bounds through its political-correct regulatory-restrictive approach to governing us. Stifling rules and “laws” are no longer coming to us via congress but through mandates issued by Obama’s administrative czars – and nowhere is it more apparent than in new policies protecting and fronting for Muslims.

I understand the only attorney you are familiar with is your competency attorney, but when you point your little anti-conspiracy-theory finger at the MB posters, you forget to recall the law firm Covington and Burling and their guy Holder – and seven or eight of his fellow shysters – who defended Muslims (no prosecutions) and who now inhabit the Muslim Defense League…uh, I mean the U.S. Attorney General’s office.

You made my point by exposing your ignorance.

  • http://conservativetruthhq.blogspot.com/ Laurie

    Hey RLB and Anon:

You are, as is usual for libtards, missing the big picture:

Here’s what you’re missing: According to the LA Times: “Whitmore told The Times that Nakoula was taken in for a voluntary interview with probation officials and has not been arrested or detained.”

First, RLB, you claimed that this guy had been “arrested” when in fact he had not (see your mindless dribble in the third post from the top).

More importantly, though, here’s your obvious reasoning:
“It’s OK for at least four police to descend on, and take into custody, a man who is *suspected* of violating his parole.”

However, your screaming against Sheriff Joe shows that you don’t like the idea of police arresting known criminals.

You’re willing to take sides in one case, but you don’t do that in the bigger picture: arresting criminals.

So I’m demanding that you be consistent: either you decry this action (sending swarms of cops to take a suspect in for an interview), or you sing the praises of Sheriff Joe who is actively pursuing known criminals (which, BTW, has driven the violent crime rate in Maricopa County down by 20%…while the national rate dropped only 8%).

So let’s hear it: either you decry sending out swarms of cops to round up a suspect, or you sing the praises of Sheriff Joe.

Or, there’s a third option: STFU and get off these boards because the adults are solving problems that YOU have caused.

  • John Lewis

C**ts in uniform. Is America really so rotted out? Oh God I hope not.

  • anotherrandomID

    Laurie –

Just for the record, “the adults are solving problems that YOU have caused.”

…. this blog has never – NEVER – suggested a solution to anything. It is all whining about perceived slights and missteps by Obama. Nothing more. Look at every singel topic posted today. Yesterday. The past week. The past month… nothing but complaints and whining. So yeah.. STFU, for sure.

And yes, Sheriff Joe can do whatever he wants within the boundaries of the law (that includes Federal law, just for the record…). Which changes exactly… nothing at all about this guy getting questioned by the authorities for breaking his parole.

Your “team” is still wearing a helluvalot of tinfoil hats…

  • wingmann

If someone is in violation of parole issues, they need to be addressed….just sure is (IN)-CONVENIENT for this fellow huh?
If the ME is pissed about this movie,I hate to see what is coming when they release the movie (backed by the lightbringer)about the killing of ubl…
obama and his administration have engaged in years of lawbreaking. obama unlawfully used TARP money so that the government obtained ownership interests in Chrysler and General Motors(and don’t forget how the bondholders got screwed). He ignored the War Powers Act in deploying the military machine to Libya. When Congress refused to pass the DREAM Act, he implemented portions of it via executive order.
There are more but we will start with these.

  • wingmann

and yes, there are many here who were not happy with things bush did but we are in oblamer’s admin now…so he takes the heat.
Romney’s feet will/should be held to the fire when/if he is running things.

  • Clingtomyguns

Eugene Volokh has great incite to what this picture conveys to the Arab world:

“Behavior that gets rewarded, gets repeated. (Relatedly, “once you have paid him the Dane-geld, you never get rid of the Dane.”) Say that the murders in Libya lead us to pass a law banning some kinds of speech that Muslims find offensive or blasphemous, or reinterpreting our First Amendment rules to make it possible to punish such speech under some existing law.

What then will extremist Muslims see? They killed several Americans (maybe itself a plus from their view). In exchange, they’ve gotten America to submit to their will. And on top of that, they’ve gotten back at blasphemers, and deter future blasphemy. A triple victory.

Would this (a) satisfy them that now America is trying to prevent blasphemy, so there’s no reason to kill over the next offensive incident, or (b) make them want more such victories? My money would be on (b).”

Welcome to Sharia law, brought to you by your Obama Regime.

  • Your Inner Voice

Every employee of every sheriff dept everywhere needs to see this pic, and to realize that THAT is exactly where they all are headed…enforcing the destruction of the Constitution for those dictators now above any law in what was once the land of the free. This is like the Elian Gonzalas case of the Slick Willies bad ol’ days, but way worse, since we are giving in to sharia while destroying the very #1 amendment that has made the U.S. who we have been for 200 years (and are no longer). Alas, we ARE overthrown, and the writer of RomneyCare won’t be the answer. Oh well, those that can afford it will have polygamy legal in a few years, one way or the other…

Kanaka Girl – Treason is right but there is another word that applies here – Dictator. The blind sheik was tried, convicted and sentenced in a court of law under our Constitution. Short of a presidential pardon, the dictator Obama cannot just order him released, there is no constitutional authority for that. America has become a totalitarian dictatorship.

“America has become a totalitarian dictatorship.”

Wow. If any of you – any single one – believe that statement, you are even dumber than I give you credit for (and I give you credit for an awful lot of stupidity…)

North Korea is a totalitarian regime. If people like you were talking like this about Kim Il-Sung or Jong-Il or (the new fat one – Jong-Un?) you would already be breaking rocks in a mine until the day you die – sometime next week.

See how that hasn’t happened – ever – in one single case? Each and every one of you retards is still free to spout uneducated blather against the “regime”, none of you has had your guns or bibles taken away, and not one of you sees a black helicopter overhead as I type this.

It’s almost amusing the way these leftrolls will point out how something hasn’t happened (yet) therefore it never will. I haven’t been sent to crack rocks because they haven’t taken my guns away, and they haven’t done that why? Because they don’t want to, or because they just haven’t yet? Yes, you go through your life with the idea that if something was going to happen it would have already; never prepare for anything to change. Nothing ever changes, does it? I won’t help you if it does.
