Father–Daughter Dances Banned on Behalf of Single Motherhood
Now that we allow government the power to intrude with virtually no limitations into our private affairs in the name of “civil rights,” liberal social engineers are taking full advantage of the chance to impose their depraved utopia through bureaucratic coercion. In Rhode Island, school father–daughter dances have been banned as part of the campaign to promote single motherhood:
Supt. Judith Lundsten said the move was triggered by a letter from the American Civil Liberties Union on behalf of a single mom who had complained that her daughter had not been able to attend her father-daughter dance.
Growing up in a single-parent home is among the top predictors of poverty:
A child born to a single mother is six times more likely to live in poverty than a child born to married parents, and 80 percent of long-term poverty occurs in single-parent homes.
Poor people vote for socialists. Consequently, our socialist ruling class will go to any length to promote single parenthood.

So because this single mom was unable to maintain a relationship with her “sperm donor” and give her child the father that the child needs, she is making sure that NO ONE can enjoy the beauty of a father/daughter event?
I am sick to death of this “all or NOTHING” liberal attitude.

Amen to that. I think at this point, ‘judicial activism’ isn’t really the primary problem. It’s Congressional inactivism, as they bend over and lazily let them ‘make law’.
Moonbats are still bitter that the father-daughter dances for Detroit students were canceled by the warden after one dad shanked another.
Fathers Day really shouldn’t be celebrated either.
Doesn’t the school have a girl with two dads who could get the ACLU to sue over discrimination against teh gheys for not letting them have a fathers-daughter dance?
We had a son, not a daughter, but our school has “donuts with dad” and “muffins with mom”. My schedule never allowed for it, and my wife up and died, so my son was deprived. BAN THEM ALL! It’s the only way to be fair! Gawd the world sucks when liberals have influence in it.
Everyone needs to go see the movie “Last Ounce of Courage”. It’s time we stand up and say NO MORE to this pc bullcrap!

Jill – Not really irony, liberalism contradicts itself in many cases. For example, they are in favor of killing unborn children but against killing mass murderers, they are against religion when that religion is Christianity but for it when the religion is Islam. The list goes on, an effective strategy to destroy them is to set them against themselves. As Rotohammer says, get the kid with two Dads to sue for discriminating against gays thereby setting the single mothers against the gays with the liberal caught in the middle. Hang them with their own political correctness.
It’s not fair that other people have not made poor life choices or have not been the victim of circumstance, no one can have what I can’t have.
Rhode Island is a one party, liberal theocracy and the people there get what they deserve.

This is the same school that the ACLU forced to remove a banner that had the words, “Heavenly Father” in it. The head of RI’s Freedom from Religion has a niece who was the face of the banner removal. On the day that the court shamefully said the banner must come down, Freedom from Religion ordered a bouquet of flowers for the young lafy. Problem was, not one florist in the state would deliver to her. They had to order from a CT florist.
