No wonder the media shrieked like a scalded cat when an illegal secret recording was released of Romney writing off hope of support from the growing percentage of Americans who vote for a living. This is such a sensitive area because it reveals a long-term strategy of hardcore leftists like Barack Obama:
The Daily Caller has obtained a complete audio recording of the October 19, 1998 Loyola College forum on community organizing and policymaking during which a future President Barack Obama said he favored the government redistribution of wealth. The audio demonstrates the context of that remark and reveals other far-left positions that Obama held as a state senator.
Those positions encompass issues as wide-ranging as gun control, universal health care and welfare reform. Obama also said he viewed welfare recipients and “the working poor” as “a majority coalition” that could be mobilized to help advance progressive policies and elect their champions.
This “majority coalition” would in effect use the government to enslave the minority that makes instead of taking. From there the incentives of parasitism will continue to grow, as will the punishment for belonging to the economically productive minority, until the entire rotten system collapses into communism.
Generations ago, the wise Alexis de Tocqueville predicted,
“The American Republic will endure until the day Congress discovers that it can bribe the public with the public’s money.”
That day has come. Obama isn’t our president. He’s our mortician.

Actually Gunny, Obama WANTS the moochers to outnumber the producers. It is the Cloward and Piven “overload the system” model of how to bring down a nation.
Once he has destabilized America to that point and everything collapses, he can remake America in his Marxist utopia just as his mother and father taught him to do. As a Marine you will recognize these actions as the actions of an enemy for only an enemy, in this case a narcissistic sociopath, seeks to destabilize a nation causing untold suffering and mass death.
Destabilization will result in mass casualties from the chaos that will ensue, starvation, disease, etc. That is when the dictator Obama steps in, declares martial law and takes over, just as his predecessor did in Germany in the 1930′s.
To be clear, I am saying that Barack Obama is a domestic enemy of the United States, I know you remember your oath “against all enemies, foreign and domestic” and your creed, to “stand ready to deploy, engage and destroy the enemies of the United States of America in close combat”. They are many, politicians, media, university professors, union members, enviro-Nazis, etc., but no quarter should be given to any of these evil doers.
The line of departure draws near therefore the time to lock and load is nearly here. Civil war is assured and thousands will die but the enemy, all who support the Marxist / Islamist cause, must be driven from our soil so that the Constitution may be restored.

Funny he’d use Texas and Florida to make his flawed analogy since, as one of the commenters to his piece points out, that the benefits paid to Florida retirees are largely earned in NY and NJ, thus payable by Trenton and Albany rather than by Tallahassee.
Ditto Greece. Athens is responsible for Greek retirees, rather than Berlin and The Hague.
What Krugman is saying in his Florida analogy implies that Germans or Brits who retire to Greece would then be paid by Athens rather than the countries they earned their benefits in.

Lets say the Federal government never started these (soon to drag us under) programs and they were left to the states.
