Fair bet the polls ain’t the only thing that’s serving up skewed data.

Just serving it up, not buying into it.

A snippet: “Plus, given that the jobs decline started before Obama entered office, employment is still far below 2007 levels.

Hiring has barely been strong enough to keep up with population growth, and that’s why the unemployment rate is still stuck at 8.1%. ”

    Ah, that’s the spin.

Savage leaves the airwaves, calls it a win?

Horowitz says Savage has been fighting the network for two years to get out a contract that was 10 years old and prevented the host from switching employers. Horowitz said the agreement lacked protections afforded to artists and entertainers under California law, and tied Savage to Talk Radio Network indefinitely.

Horowitz said Savage spent more than $900,000 fighting his case but was awarded more than $1 million in arbitration. The agreement also calls for Savage to be able to obtain all archived tapes of his show.

So who’s going to be dumb enough to hire him now? Granted, he was the #3 most popular talk show host behind Limbaugh and Hannity, who he would constantly denigrate on the air. I never liked him much myself.

Initiating prolonged and costly legal battles with one’s employer is pretty much a red flag to other potential employers I would think.

I’m guessing this is a “crips v. bloods” thing? Yet another edition of “guess the race or ethnicity”!

Am I missing something here regarding Michael Savage?

“Horowitz said the agreement lacked protections afforded to artists and entertainers under California law, and tied Savage to Talk Radio Network indefinitely.”

So you’re OK with an agreement like that?

And, “Initiating prolonged and costly legal battles with one’s employer is pretty much a red flag to other potential employers I would think.”

What if the former employer was ACORN, SEIU, Planned Parenthood, or the offices of NAMBLA – still a red flag?

And as a conservative don’t you agree an employee should have the basic freedom to switch employers?

Who would be dumb enough to hire the #3 most populsr talk show host in America? Uh…let’s see, since he’s so damned unpopular……

Oh, I disagree with Hannity sometimes, and even with Limbaugh from time to time. My bad.

Bob I don’t think you have any clue how big the Savage Nation is. Those ratings don’t include people like myself who have to stream it off my phone because my liberal state would never allow such honesty on the radio. Hell Rush was taken off after his Fluke trip up. I can’t stand one minute of either Hannity or Rush. Savage tells it like it is rather than how you want to hear it. My kind of guy!!

  11. Grunt says:

Screwy Puppy…interestingly, I have a niece that lives in Ohio, and since she was a single Mom, she gets a little cel phone that has a fixed number of free minutes per month–and they have called it an “Obama phone” for as long as they’ve had it (I think they have had it for a year or so now).

  13. Sam Adams says:

Here’s the fact that people forget. Unemployment numbers started shooting up the day that Obama was elected. Employers knew what to expect from Obama and he hasn’t disappointed.

Here’s the second fact. It is only under Obama that the BLS has started dropping people off the rolls of the unemployed in order to make Obama’s numbers not look so bad. Without dropping several million off the rolls of the unemployed (calling them discouraged workers) the unemployment rate would be over 11%.

People who buy into the 8.1% unemployment rate are simply stupid or are in the tank for Obama. Want to bet that Obama will arrange to have another half million dropped off the rolls so that the unemployment rate in October will finally drop below 8%?

It’s late, but I just backtracked and read your Savage hyperlink.

AP, a sometimes dubious and often irresponsibly absent news source actually gave Savage credit by reporting, “Michael Savage leaves radio show after legal win.”

You however, transcribed the headline as, “Savage leaves the airwaves, calls it a win?”

I like your added subjective question mark – I hope you’re not borrowing techniques from the MSM.

We have an election coming up which may determine whether America rises from Obama’s burned out bird-brain ideas, or whether our eagle of freedom flies off into oblivion.

As I tell the moonbat greeniacs, there’s a reason that some animals are down to their last few numbers in very small areas – they were headed towards NORMAL, NATURAL EXTINCTION and, if we just left them alone, they would be gone quite soon anyway.

Extinction is the rule, not the exception. 99.99999% of all creatures that ever existed are now extinct.

They don’t seem to get that.

Should we save this spider? I don’t really think it matters, in the grand scheme of things. We will save it only to have a hurricane come through and drown out the last remaining ones. Seriously, if they’re down to this one and a couple others that the highway project will kill then they’re below sustainable breeding population requirements anyway. So we need to round them up and see if they will breed in captivity or let them go the way of the other extinct critters and plants.

I see what you’re saying, but I also added within my further comments (other than providing the link) that he did clearly “win” the case (in arbitration) but is the win really a win?

My point being, and note I also admitted I really don’t care for him, not that it matters, there’s a real chance nobody will offer him another contract. Then again he was #3 so maybe I’m wrong about that. But taking your employer to court, as I said, throws up some pretty solid red flags.

Anyway, your points are well said and well taken. We will have to see. I suppose perhaps you’re a Savage Nation fan?

It’s not that he’s “wrong” – it’s more his style and delivery I don’t like. He’s a smart guy, obviously. And clearly he has an audience. A pretty big one at that. Clearly he’s better/smarter than the moonbat opposition.

Seriously, I wish him luck. He got what he wanted. Now he’s essentially unemployed, but maybe that’s a good thing because now he can choose his path.

As for your question, yes, generally I support one’s freedom of choice to choose both who they work for and, to the extent they can, the terms of that employment. But what you seem to be missing is Savage signed a deal that had these particular clauses and then later decided he didn’t like the clauses he willingly accepted.

    Get it?

  21. Bob Roberts says:

Oh, and I don’t think much of Hannity either – he’s too childish and argumentative. And Rush Limbaugh is a pompous ass regularly… don’t get me started. But you have to admit, with both of them & Savage too, they must be doing something right!

Again no doubt my own tone and style probably helped you do that.

But relax, I’m not any more against Savage than I am against any other talk show host, as long as he or she comes from a conservative/libertarian perspective. It’s the moonbats I REALLY can’t stand!

But, fortunately, neither could the five people who tuned into their shows, apparently.

When I wrote my original column, I said that I happened to be overseas, from which vantage the indestructible racial obsessions of American liberalism seemed extremely peculiar. They seem even more cobwebbed and parochial today, when there is an actual “swirling hurricane” out there: From Tunisia to Indonesia, persons of every conceivable hue are raining down curses on Obama; they’re burning his effigy in Pakistan, Afghanistan, Sri Lanka, Lebanon, and beyond; Indian protesters wave placards showing Obama as a monkey. But only in America are Obama’s critics “racist”, and warnings of “swirling hurricanes” are reserved for the apparent epidemic of “empty chair lynchings.”

Thus, the “pansy left,” in Orwell’s designation: They’re fearless when it comes to fighting imaginary, phantom enemies. Not so useful for the ones actually out there.

Spot on repost of a comment from the article about
savage “yoots” beating a woman for fun:

African Americans have long refused to ask the question about why so many African Americans revert to violence and crime. As a young Hispanic woman, I have been looking for an answer to that question regarding members of my own ethnicity.

When misguided Liberal politicians treat human beings like they treat animals in a zoo — by feeding them, clothing them, housing them, training them and taking care of their medical needs — then why does it surprise us when those human beings revert to animal-like violence? After all, part of the human experience is to take responsibility for one’s actions. When the government takes this responsibility, you no longer know how to behave.

Language, cultural differences and poverty don’t cause this. After all, there are many different minority groups that are a segment that are poor but for whom the statistics vary little in terms of criminal activity. And, of course, there have been many poor people in this country for centuries who didn’t laugh when they beat up a woman.

This is a result of the “new slavery” — in which certain segments of society are in chains to the bones of welfare that are thrown to them by some politicians who long for power.

When a large segment of a culture is willing to forsake their longstanding moral and religious views on issues like abortion and the goals of homosexual activists by voting in the pro-abortion or pro-homosexual activist politicians simply because those politicians promise a few more entitlement perks, then that culture will go into a steady decline.

If you don’t believe me, then I dare you to walk through the government projects in any major city after 10 PM at night. If you feel any less safe than walking in the suburbs or small-town America, then you aren’t being honest with yourself.

I have a question that I am hoping some of the fine posters here at Moonbattery can answer for me.

It has been several weeks since Ambassador Stevens and three other American citizens were brutally murdered in Libya. What is the Obama Administration doing about it, except to blame a video for the attacks? I read today that the FBI has not even been to the site…
    http://www.cnn.com/2012/09/26/world/africa/libya-investigation/index.html

The Ambassadors journal was found BY A REPORTER laying on the ground days after the attack, so the crime scene is obviously not secure.

Are we investigating? Are we pushing for answers? Are we doing anything at all??

Or is the Obama Administration treating the obvious act of war the same was Bill Clinton treated the act of war that was the USS COLE bombing? For example, we waste seven minutes in line every time we go to get coffee, 28 minutes getting through airport security, four years waiting for Obama to do something about the economy. Every year, we waste a lot. We wasted a lot of time.”

    ABOUT TIME!

The foreign-policy results of the new Bloomberg National Poll haven’t gotten much attention yet, but the survey contains some bad news for the Obama campaign. According to the poll, Mitt Romney has a 48-42 advantage over Barack Obama on the question of which candidate would be tougher on terrorism. Romney, in other words, has encroached on one of Obama’s signature strengths.

How anyone can trust Obama over Romney on terrorism is baffling. Obama has done little if anything to prevent, and a lot to promote, terrorism.

Oh, sure, he did kill bin Laden, with his own bare hands apparently. And he has allowed strikes by drones and such which, if Bush did the same thing, would have resulted in calls for impeachment and war crimes trials. Students at Parsippany Hills High School held a strategy session on Thursday to discuss a potential lunch strike, on Friday, over what they have called inadequately sized meals.

“This year you’re eating lunch and you’re like ‘Did I even eat?’ You’re not even full,” senior Brandon Faris told CBS 2′s Derricke Dennis.

New federal guidelines stemming from first lady Michelle Obama’s “Let’s Move” campaign have resulted in limits on protein and bread, and an increase in vegetables and fruits. The changes have also come at an increased cost.

Are you better off now than you were 4 years ago asked by… SNL?

They mock him, but in true moonbat fashion, they probably will vote for Obama. Go figure!

‘Who here has a job?’ he asked hopefully, looking around the room. Fred Armisen, who had the honour of playing the president in seasons’ past, raised his hand and said he was a manager at Burger King.
‘A manager at Burger King? There you go – have it your way!’ Pharoah said, then asking, ‘I bet you were behind the counter four years ago?’
Armisen glumly replied: ‘I was the vice president of Bank of America.’

But it is not only a valid question, but also a critical one: Are you better off than you were 4 years ago?

For many, actually most, the answer is an unqalified NO!

Americans must be wondering how much more of this “recovery” they can afford. New figures from the Census Bureau’s Current Population Survey, compiled by Sentier Research, show that the typical American household’s real (inflation-adjusted) income has actually dropped 5.7 percent during the Obama “recovery.” Using constant 2012 dollars (to adjust for inflation), the median annual income of American households was $53,718 as of June 2009, the last month of the recession. Now, after 38 months of this “recovery,” it has fallen to $50,678 — a drop of $3,040 per household. Yet it gets worse. Amazingly, incomes have dropped even more during the “recovery” than they did during the recession. In fact, they’ve dropped more than twice as much as they did during the recession. From the start to the end of the recession, the real median income of American households fell $1,413, or 2.6 percent. From the end of the recession to the present day, it has dropped $3,040, or 5.7 percent. This begs the question: What kind of “recovery” compares unfavorably with the recession from which it’s ostensibly recovering?

Two of the groups hit hardest have been ones that turned out in abundance for Obama in 2008: black Americans and younger Americans (those between the ages of 25 and 34). During the first three years of the Obama “recovery,” the real median household income for black Americans dropped a whopping 11.1 percent. For Americans between the ages of 25 and 34 — the group most apt, as Paul Ryan put it, to be “staring up at fading Obama posters” and looking to “get going with life” — real median household income dropped 8.9 percent.

Moreover, we’re still not headed in the right direction. Last month, American households’ real median annual income fell by another $543 — from $51,221 to $50,678. Sentier’s Gordon Green, former chief of the Governments Division at the Census Bureau, says, “This latest decline in real median annual household income is indicative of a struggling economy.” He adds that, while we are “technically” in a recovery, “real median annual household income is having a difficult time maintaining its present level, much less ‘recovering.’”

Similarly, the percentage of Americans who are employed has dropped during the Obama “recovery” — from 59.4 percent during the final month of the recession to just 58.3 percent last month. That’s according to the Obama administration’s own figures.

Fluke fraud: Birth control pills can be purchased for as low as $9 per month at a pharmacy near Georgetown’s campus. According to an employee at the pharmacy in Washington, D.C.’s Target store, the pharmacy sells birth control pills–the generic versions of Ortho Tri-Cyclen and Ortho-Cyclen–for $9 per month. ‘That’s the price without insurance,’ the Target employee said. Nine dollars is less than the price of two beers at a Georgetown bar.

It is affirmative that you also see our cultural battles in terms of ideology and not race.

I’m sick and tired of the likes of “Mary” and her skinhead friends attempting to go so far as to reinterpret Scripture to justify their calling persons of color inferior, and applying the term “white guilt” to people such as myself.

We are all God’s kids, and at no time in human history have we all had such an equitable footing on which to launch our own personal futures.

If someone can’t make it in today’s world – especially in a glorious country where all men are created equal and we have inalienable rights – then they are either carping about past injustices or they simply don’t want personal freedom bad enough.

Obama’s policies of course, are now stymieing the latter.

Your point however, is my point – its ideology.

A hand-holding nanny-style giveaway government will slowly minimize and paralyze any racial group – even whites – as it has done to the large unsuspecting Al Sharpton-victim-segment of the black community for decades.

What we have thirty years later are toothless, ignorant, slothful individuals like the screaming ghetto cell phone mama who mindlessly supports Obama in a previous thread.

Another example would be the freebies given to Native Americans and the resultant poverty and disastrous education levels.

If mass illegal immigration continues – to satisfy the democratic need for votes – then it’s likely Latinos will fall prey to the same entitlement mentality.

Let’s hope the Latino Catholic-Christian culture with its strong sense of family values (not the criminal element) will see through the Obama giveaway charade and not support their damaging ideology.
