If you think things are bad under Obama now, wait until after the election if he wins. Not only will we go over the fiscal cliff of Taxmageddon, almost certainly plunging the country back into recession; not only will ObamaCare be fully implemented, strangling the world’s best healthcare system with miles of red tape; not only will he have “more flexibility” to sell the USA out to its adversaries as anyone but a fool could have predicted he would do, given his ideology and background; but he will unleash other aspects of his second-term agenda that have been delayed lest they enrage voters prematurely. For example, with or without control of Congress, he plans to use the EPA to suppress economic activity, as detailed in a new report released by Senator James Inhofe (R-OK), who comments:
“President Obama has spent the past year punting on a slew of job-killing EPA regulations that will destroy millions of American jobs and cause energy prices to skyrocket even more. From greenhouse gas regulations to water guidance to the tightening of the ozone standard, the Obama-EPA has delayed the implementation of rule after rule because they don’t want all those pink slips and price spikes to hit until after the election. But President Obama’s former climate czar Carol Browner was very clear about what’s in store for next year: she told several green groups not to worry because President Obama has a big green ‘to-do’ list for 2013 so they’ll get what they want. The radical environmental left may not need to worry but what about hard working Americans who will lose their jobs and be subjected to skyrocketing energy prices thanks to the Obama-EPA?
“This report also importantly puts the spotlight back on an Obama-EPA that has, as the Washington Post said, earned a ‘reputation for abuse.’ It serves as stark reminder that President Obama has presided over a green team administration that works every day to ‘crucify’ oil and gas companies and make sure that ‘if you want to build a coal plant you got a big problem.’”
The areas where we can expect Obama’s bureaucracy to drive up unemployment by suppressing productive activity and encroaching on our indispensable property rights are many, and prominently include absurdly unnecessary greenhouse gas regulations, an ozone rule, restrictions on hydraulic fracturing, and still more repressive regulation of water and dust.
The great Mark Levin is suing to get a closer look at the Obama/EPA plans while voters can still prevent them from being implemented. But you don’t need to know the details to know that Obama has good reason to keep his second-term agenda secret.
