Even David Letterman Wakes Up and Smells the Coffee
Apparently even a moonbat like David Letterman can only be fed so many lies before he starts to choke:
“Here’s what upset me [about the last debate] … this playing fast and loose with facts. And President Obama cites the op-ed piece that Romney wrote about Detroit, ‘Let them go bankrupt, let them go bankrupt.’ And [in the debate] he brings it up again, ‘Oh no, Governor, you said let them go bankrupt, blah blah blah, let them go bankrupt, blah.’ And Mitt said, ‘No, no, check the thing, check the thing, check the thing.’
“Now, I don’t care whether you’re Republican or Democrat, you want your president to be telling the truth, you want the contender to be lying. And so when we found out today or soon thereafter that, in fact, the President Obama was not telling the truth about what was excerpted from that op-ed piece, I felt discouraged. …
“The fact that the President is invoking it and swearing that he was right and that Romney was wrong and I thought, well, he’s the president, of course he’s right. Well, it turned out no, he was taking liberties with that.”
“Taking liberties” means Obama was lying through his teeth regarding Romney’s approach to GM’s bankruptcy, which would have been much more beneficial for the company in the long run than Obama’s because he would not have sold out the company to the union that had crippled it. Maybe this is why the Detroit News endorses Romney, who has caught up with Obama in Michigan despite Obama’s bogus smears.

And the real story is “Madcow” acting surprised that anyone would think it’s inappropriate for Obama to lie blatantly like that.
He probably also meant taking liberties, literally.
Liberals are no brighter than the characters in Superman comics who can’t recognize the Man of Steel when he wears glasses as Clark Kent.
Gee, Obama was lying about an op-ed Romney wrote… but he’s been truthful about everything else.
Could it be that Letterman honestly, really, truly has not gotten it until now?
I’m willing to give him the benefit of the doubt. If that’s the case, then welcome to the light, Dave. You’ve hit the nail, gotten to the crux of the biscuit as it were.
TELL THE TRUTH. If you’re a socialist or want to turn the USA into a communist state, fine. SAY SO. Let the people decide. If they’re with you, then you won fair and square and no one can bitch.
If the people are NOT with you, don’t try to get your agenda in place by deceit and sleight of hand. JUST TELL THE TRUTH AND LET THE CHIPS FALL.
I’d rather debate an honest communist than a deceitful Democrat any day. Putin, not Pelosi, know what I mean? I know my ideas would win, and no trickery would be needed.
At the same time, to his discredit, Dave had many lyin’ lunatic liberals on his show, watched them sit there and tell him things he knew were lies to his face and yet never called them on it.
Not once that I know of.

You make a great point and clear something up some people still don’t get.
Why do moonbats lie?
Because they know that if they tell the truth they will be out of power at the next election.
So, to stay in power, they are compelled to lie.
They have an “ends justifies the means” mentality.
Al Gore openly admitted to this methodology:
“I believe it is appropriate to have an over-representation of factual presentations on how dangerous it is.”
In other words, lie to get people to react emotionally, not logically, and as long as they react the way you want them to, it’s justified.

I find this amazing. Letterman knows full well that the left constantly lies and misrepresents the positions of the right. In fact, he’s one of the biggest abusers of this consistent action. Perhaps he believes only he should be allowed to misrepresent the right. I’m not sure. Or, perhaps Alzheimer’s has kicked in and he’s forgotten what he’s done for the last two decades.

Wow. Letterman performs a Random Act of Journalism. LETTERMAN?!? Of all moonbats, never did I think HE’D wake up… even though it’s only gonna be for for 5 minutes, it’s better than nothing…
BUT: then again, at least two mainstream media outlets have woken up this week; more than I thought I’d see in my lifetime. Hope it lasts…

He really was in the dark, and this incredibly blatant lying is overcoming even Letterman’s leftist leanings
Or
He is aware of the iceberg, and sees “Titanic” painted all over Obama. He’s making a quick exit to the lifeboats.
Either way, it lets you know what is about to fall on the head of the worst President in American history.
(Haven’t heard much from Oprah lately either. Maybe “The One”s halo has so much tarnish on it, even the combined efforts of Dr. Chopra and Winfrey can’t get it clean…and like good progressives, they abandon their own.)

Letterman was the ninny excoriating Mitt for not coming on his hack show so he could subject him to mockery in the name of comedy. Who’s the sad clown-painted fool now?

Letterperson only now becomes incensed by this one particular lie from America’s Liar-In-Chief?!

Here’s the scary part, Dave. Obama’s lying about Romney is only scratching the surface. Four Americans lie dead and Obama didn’t lift a finger to save them, and then he proceeds to lie about the cause of their deaths. A border agent lies dead in the ground because of government gun-running, and Obama invokes executive privilege to cover up the incident.
