Russia Flexes Its Muscle Off Our Coast

Looks like Vladimir Putin stopped by to cast his vote for the moonbat he endorsed:

A Russian nuclear-powered attack submarine cruised within 200 miles of the East Coast recently in the latest sign Russia is continuing to flex its naval and aerial power against the United States, defense officials said.

The submarine was identified by its NATO designation as a Russian Seirra-2 class submarine believed to be based with Russia’s Northern Fleet. It was the first time that class of Russian submarine had been detected near a U.S. coast, said officials who spoke on condition of anonymity because of the sensitive nature of anti-submarine warfare efforts.

These weren’t the only Russkies off our shores.

Meanwhile, the officials also said that a Russian electronic intelligence-gathering vessel was granted safe harbor in the commercial port of Jacksonville, Fla., within listening range of Kings Bay.

The Russian AGI ship, or Auxiliary-General Intelligence, was allowed to stay in the port to avoid the superstorm that battered the U.S. East Coast last week. …

“A Russian AGI and an SSN [nuclear attack sub] in the same geographic area as one of the largest U.S. ballistic missile submarine bases — Kings Bay — is reminiscent of Cold War activities of the Soviet navy tracking the movements of our SSBN’s,” said a third U.S. official, referring to the designation for ballistic missile submarines, SSBN.

This is part of a larger pattern illustrating the payoff for Obama’s treacherous policy of appeasement.

The submarine deployment followed stepped-up Russian nuclear bomber activity near U.S. borders last summer, including the transit of two Bear-H strategic bombers near the Alaska air defense zone during Russian strategic bomber war games in arctic in late June.

Then on July 4, in an apparent Fourth of July political message, a Russian Bear-H flew the closest to the U.S. West Coast that a Russian strategic bomber had flown since the Cold War when such flights were routine.

The world is a scary place for the weak, especially when there is no one strong to protect them. If we chose weakness over strength by reelecting Obama, the next generation will know fear like we never did.

    Meanwhile…
China’s official (read Government) news has written that they are considering allowing more than one child per couple. Their carrier fleet is progressing, as is the rapid modernization of the rest of their military.
They are eyeballing a base in the atlantic Azores Islands and pushing hard and heavy to steal soverign Japanese territory in addition to various other economically important areas all over S.E. Asia like the soverign nation of Taiwan.

This all adds up to China obviously preparing for War within the next decade if not sooner -and since almost all American industry has been offshored thanks to over regulation and unionista control we are not going to be able to turn the tide in six months as we did in 1942.

    Danger, Danger, Will Robinson… Danger…

A couple of air burst EMPs, let’s say one from each coast, Game Over. There is absolutely no way that American industry can retool for war the way we did in WW II. We have lost our manufacturing base and the populace does not have the machanical skills it once had. Also the weapons are far more complex and take longer to build and cost more. So, should either Russia or China, decide to take us out, we’re screwed.

  • Steve

We should be pissed at the Ruskies, and don’t be surprised when other countries are pissed at us for threating to bomb them or flying/sailing near the shores.

Hard to believe we may be facing another serious situation with the Soviets. Yes they’re still the Soviets because the old communist party never completely disappeared. They’ve been waiting for the right time. With a fellow communist in the White House, this may be their time.

If (God forbid) Barry Obummer wins a second term, we can expect to have the Russian navy in U.S. territorial waters on a regular basis – with Barry’s approval.

All part of that “flexibility” that Obummer promised the Russians.

I always said when the Russians took down “The Wall” and became our fiends that…….

as soon as their economy was on solid footing and they had stolen enough technology to challenge the US…..

    GAME ON……AGAIN.

Did the Berlin Wall come down because international communism died; or because they had so corrupted our politicians and academia that in fact We had been communised from within?
Looking at the Zero, I’d have to admit that we lost the cold war with hardly a shot being fired.

When the Berlin Wall came down, that stream of people pouring over the wall were not freedom-loving people searching for a better life but rather Russian agents rushing to their new assignments in the West as eco-warriors, journalists, political pundits and teachers; plus any other occupation the communists had figured could be used to harm the West, such as Soros investing massively in legal insurrection and economic terrorism.

Face it guys, we were conned.
They took advantage of our good nature, freedom of speech and freedom generally, to use that freedom to destroy the West.

In 1989 Gorbachev was quoted speaking to the Politburo saying the following ” In October 1917 we parted with the old world rejecting it once and for all. We are moving toward a new world, the world of communism. We shall never turn off that road.”
He also said “Gentlemen, comrades, do not be concerned about all you hear about glasnost and perestroika and democracy in the coming years. These are primarily for outward consumption. There will be no significant change within the Soviet Union, other than for cosmetic purposes. Our aim is to disarm the Americans and let them fall asleep.”.

There is apparently no reference to the U.S.A. in end-times prophecy, btw.

The Russian sub is just waiting until after the inauguration and announcement that Norfolk has been leased to them.
