May Your Chains Set Lightly Upon You

Rather than berating liberals for reducing this once great country to something that would put a vulture off his lunch, I would like to show a Boehneresque spirit of bipartisanship by conveying these words of congratulation on the big win for welfare statism:

“Crouch down and lick the hand that feeds you; May your chains set lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that ye were our countrymen.”
—Samuel Adams

All we heard during the campaign was that small businesses were the biggest employers in America. Unite Small Businessess! Unite. How about privately held business, as in large business that could shut down the economy, and fast, if cease or shut down for noncompliance to healthcare act? Noncompliance. Unite Businesses. Unite. STAY AMERICAN! Hard to implement if those creating jobs and a taxforce refuse. http://offthefbwall.wordpress.com/2012/11/08/living-as-an-american-in-amerika-coming-to-a-store-near-you/

Light…medium…heavy…the self-absorbed electorate won’t notice or even care. But at least two men will able to “marry” each other. What’s liberty compared to that?

  • Momster

Our forefathers surely had vision. They could see ahead over 200 years.

Too bad no one has listened to them in a long time. So true. Sad.

  • Grey Rider

I think the quote in its entirety does better justice..

If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude than the animated contest of freedom, go from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains sit lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that you were our countrymen! -Samuel Adams

Big-pete, Momster, and Grey Rider — awesome comments. As long as there are Americans in Amerika, there is hope. LIVE AMERICAN. We can do this.

    I tuned in.I turned on.I’ve dropped out.

Thanks face. My family traces its roots to the beginning of this country, long before most of the mob can claim for themselves. I have sworn the oath to protect and defend the Constitution from ALL enemies foreign and DOMESTIC, twice… I will Honor that oath to protect it and my fellow citizens and our Republic until Yahweh calls me home.

  • F.D.R. in Hell

    “…until Yahweh calls me home.”

    Grey Rider, buy yourself a little more time;

Complete authority without accountability. What could possibly go wrong?

  • Grey Rider

” Grey Rider, buy yourself a little more time; get an unlisted number.”
Time. What is time? It is something created by man. The sun rises and the sun sets, as it has since the world was created. Only the Father knows when he will call you home, this planet is only a temporary place, and the worse it gets, the less I care to be here. I do not fear death, I have stared it in the face numerous times and have lived to smile back at it. When my time comes I worry not, for I know where my true home is. But thanks for the heads up! :D

Just going over the election data reveals some answers
    http://hotair.com/archives/2012/11/07/looking-at-the-national-exit-poll/
    The big ones that stand out to me are ;
    The 5 million 18-30 O advantage.
Socialism sells well as an alternative to hard work
The issues of unemployment and rising prices.
On unemployment I would assume the focus is on the bennies rather than finding work again.
On rising prices, they wrongheadedly believe government is the cure for this rather than causes it in many cases.
Overall it looks as if the media propaganda arm won the day, convincing people that the invisible hand of George Bush is still running the show, and the “brilliant economist” as squawked by a resident troll was merely a spectator.
This proves to me that the real opposition to American exceptionalism is the media complex.
O could not have pulled off this massive blame shift without real help in the media in warping time and contorting facts in these zombies minds.
They had to be convinced Republicans were somehow running the show all along
But I doubt any of this will matter as the left finishes tearing down the tattered fabric that was at one time the free market

“…this planet is only a temporary place, and the worse it gets, the less I care to be here.”

AGREED! It’s something I personally thank these damned Liberals for…erasing my fear of Death.

  • Metrodorus

Oh, take a valium. Do you know anyone personally, anyone who is making a living without struggling?

The only ones I know doing that are the ultra-rich like Romney. They’re the parasites. So stop beating up on working people.

All this stuff about this teaming class of freeloaders is pure fantasy.

If there is any threat to freedom in this country, it comes from the corporatocracy, not poor people, not workers.

    Y’all are insane.

  • Dr. 9

Gee, what a surprise. The MSM did it to us, again. Obviously, we deserve nothing better.

virtual chains by a virtual government after a virtual election….it’s ALL AN ILLUSION
the greatest show on earth for mere acquiescence as the price of admission

  • StanInTexas

    Samuel Adams was wrong!

May your chains set upon you heavily and with great discomfort, reminding you for every moment of your miserable life the foolishness of your decision.

  • Bo-Jangles

I believe Websters dictionary will change the meaning of one of it’s words.

Weakness: see: John Boehner, the republican party, the tea party, and the American people.

  • Stephan The Original

So, Metrodorus, ever known anybody who was employed by a poor person?

    Go away.

  • Momster

    To Face and Grey:

My grandparents came here in the early 1900s to work in mills (English side=paper mills, German side=textile mills) as skilled workers. They became American citizens and valued their citizenship. They passed the love of this country on to my parents, and my parents to me. My husband and I worked hard to instill the same in my children. I fear for them and and my grandchildren, though.

Was it Hitler or Lenin who said something along the lines of: “You say you will oppose us. Who are you? You will pass on. But your children are in our camp.” Now, thanks to public education, I believe that the following generations will have no idea of the values of the brilliant men (yes, men) who established this country and its constitution. They will not learn of the sacrifices of patriots from the bridge in Concord through the embassy in Benghazi.

I am crying bitter tears as I type this. I pray for our country and hope that after four more years we are still able to dig ourselves out of the hole we are sinking in.

  • Momster

I have never cried over our country before–never needed to.

  • Mr Evilwrench

Download as many of the videos as you can from youtube, etc., while they’re still there. Historical as well as current commentary. Even videos showing the lifestyle that civilization brought us. Burn them to archival quality DVDs, or there’s a new CD now that uses some sort of stone and should last forever. Keep them safe. Let them liberate the children of the future.

  • Ghost of FA Hayek

The only ones I know doing that are the ultra-rich like Romney. They’re the parasites

    And then this

All this stuff about this teaming class of freeloaders is pure fantasy.

    So which is it ?

If there are no “freeloaders”, who do you plan on redistributing Romney’s wealth to ?

What makes Romney a parasite, yet not Carlos Slim ?
    http://www.fortliberty.org/the-government-handing-out-free-cell-phones-and-youre-paying-for-it.html

I need an Honest answer, Metro.
I now find an urgent need to learn to play by your crony capitalist rules in order to survive.

  • Grey Rider

Take heart momster, all is not lost. They will never be able to extinguish the light in this world, for he has already won! We are mere spectators in an ages old battle that will eventually come to its conclusion, and we already know its outcome… That is why it was written to not fear nor love what is of this world, but wait patiently and faithfully for the world yet to come.

    Metro-odorous

There is no valium left, it’s apparent you’ve taken it all.

Your blasé pontification can only come from a drug-induced political coma.

You bought your Obamessiah’s message – hook, line, and sinker – the rich are bad; corporations are thieves; government is your daddy.

I hope you aren’t typing on an Apple computer – Apple is a corporation. And if you’re wearing Hanes underwear, careful, that’s a corporation too. And if you’ve flown lately I hope it wasn’t on a plane built by that nasty Boeing corporation. Likewise, if you stopped at Starbucks this morning you should be ashamed, and if you shop at Home Depot, Office Max, Subway, Hertz, Verizon, eBay, Barnes and Noble, Macy’s, Ford, Geiko, Motel 6, Chevron, Taco Bell, Sears………………

The company that supplies all your valium which seems to keep you in your snotty elitist fundamentally-ignorant coma is also a corporation.

  • Jimbo

‘Lick the hand’… really, now. Any liberal would prefer licking another part of Zero’s anatomy. They fantasize about it.

  • Momster

Grey–the same sort of thought–though not as eloquent or uplifting as yours has passed through my mind.

Mine was more like–”Oh well, at least I am old and by the times the country really devolves into 3rd world hell-hole-ishness I will be dead…or maybe sooner than that if Obamacare is as horrible as I think it will be.”

I hope I am over reacting.

  • Grey Rider

You’re welcome momster.. They are as much for me and anyone else who could use them as they are for you. Carry on, in faith and love.

  • Howard

“Rather than berating liberals for reducing this once great country to something that would put a vulture off his lunch,”

How are you not the “Blame America First” crowd with shit like this?

YOu guys love America and democracy only insofar as you get your way.

The country has gotten more conservative since 1980 (lower taxes, less regulation, weaker unions, hawkish foreign policy) on almost everything that matters except debt and spending (a real problem to be sure), but you’re still crying that America is a giant shit hole because you can’t get everything you want.

Guess what? THAT is democracy. Getting everything you want is a dictatorship or Junta of some sort.

And maybe we could make some headway on the one remaining conservative issues that actually matters (spending and debts) if you guys didn’t spend all day worrying (lustily) about guys grabbing each other’s peckers and women on the pill.

Maybe if you cut te hate and 13th century social issue nonsense and get back to old fashioned conservative values, you could get votes of non crazies like me.

Hopefully this election taught some of you a lesson – you’re not going to turn America into a Christian caliphate or the John Birch Society (nor should you), so maybe aim for less spending and debt accrual.

    ___________

The corporatocracy is another word for fascism. It is when politicians such as Obama, give government loans/grants to those who contribute to their campaigns, such as those behind green energy companies, such as Solyndra. You should be ashamed of your master.
    ______

    Howard says
    ____

Howard, we no longer have a government which will protect people, uphold the rule of law and otherwise leave people alone. Now we have a law and Supreme Court ruling that basically places no limits on what the government can tax, including what you do and don’t purchase. They can regulate virtually every other aspect of your life.

The government is far more oppressive and far more intrusive than it has ever been. BTW, if you are unconvinced, you should see the new NSA data center being built in Utah.

  • Bob Roberts

It’s rare that I find Mr. Blount making any sort of error, but he did leave one thing out when he said, “He’s just a dead white male.”

Remember, “He’s just a dead ANGRY white male.”

Or so that’s what the lunatic lyin’ liberals would have us believe, anyway.

Howard says: November 8, 2012 at 10:47 am
    ———————
Howard is a good index case. The “hate” and “13th century stuff” is what liberals are all about. Go back and see where the first instance of the word “hate” on this page is. That’s right, Howard’s post, that’s where! Nobody who is a true conservative ever talks about setting up a caliphate of any type but liberals seem determined to join muslims in crushing Christianity to make way for an islamic one. And what about the John Birch Society? I can’t remember ANYONE bringing that up except maybe a long time ago some liberal did, until now where Howard brought it up.

As for “crying that America is a giant shit hole because you can’t get everything you want”, that’s pretty much Obama’s class warfare argument in a nutshell as well as the impetus for his formation of the “occu-tard” movement.

And I love how, in typical lib-tard fashion, Howard said, “if you guys didn’t spend all day worrying (lustily) about guys grabbing each other’s peckers and women on the pill.”

That’s so ancient history. We don’t care about guys grabbing each other’s peckers – we just want them to keep their semen stained hands off marriage! And as for women on the pill, we’re actually FOR it since it may help reduce the liberal population over time, but the issue is WE SHOULD NOT HAVE TO PAY FOR IT! If THEY want to be sexually irresponsible, fine, LET THEM. But also let them pay for their birth control and abortions.

And I saved the best for last:

Howard said, “You guys love America and democracy only insofar as you get your way.”

Yeah, that’s why ever time a vote goes against us we immediately find some activist judge to try to usurp the expressed will of the people.

Oh, wait, that’s not what CONSERVATIVES do, it’s what LIBERALS do!

  • Secret Squirrel

How about they just suck instead of f*ck if they can’t afford the pill or an abortion?

    Agree with Stan
If you voted for all the free stuff because you think a job is for “sheeple” then I hope the chains you’ve helped place on yourself set heavy.
For the 3 million such as the guy on Rush today that sat home because Romney was a moderate and he wasn’t gonna vote for no moderate then enjoy the same chains you forged only way heavier.
