    Conservative across the board, or you don’t get a dime of financing, and not a single vote, period. Not talking about “purists,” just rational people with the principles of the Founding, not surrender monkeys like Boehner and his cadre of cowards (“Yes, mein Fuhrer! Whatever you desire, mein Fuhrer! You won, mein Fuhrer!”). If all we have is the House, at least for the next two long, long years, then go for broke and file legislation repealing Obamacare every week like clockwork, send up a conservative budget, etc. — let the moron running the Senate slap it all down, then obliterate him, finally, in 2016 when he’s on the ballot again (should he choose not to retire, or more likely, be declared clinically insane and committed to an asylum for the morally bankrupt and irretrievably dumb).

    The Obama administration made moves to encourage defense contractors to delay layoff announcements until after the election, offering to reimburse contractors for any legal costs incurred in not informing their affected employees. Lockheed Martin seemingly took the offer, and today, Boeing announced it would be cutting 30 percent of management positions.

    I predicted a long time ago that an Obama priority in his second term would be to eliminate the 22nd Amendment.

    I reaffirm that prediction now. Look for it sooner rather than later (i.e. before the next midterm elections because he can’t know if he will get stronger or weaker then at this point), I expect, though it is also possible he will try to get other things done first and then go for that.

    The timing is just too perfect for the Obama administration. Just as the administration claimed it was purely coincidence that our Benghazi consulate was attacked on the anniversary of September 11th. Now it’s purely coincidence that this affair — extra-marital affair — surfaces right after the election, not before, but right after, but before the intelligence chiefs go to Capitol Hill to get grilled. As an old intelligence analyst, Neil, the way I read this — I could be totally wrong, this is my interpretation — is that the administration was unhappy with Petraeus not playing ball 100% on their party-line story. I think it’s getting cold feet about testifying under oath on their party-line story. And I suspect that these tough Chicago guys knew about this affair for a while, held it in their back pocket until they needed to play the card.

    An exclusive investigation discovered city employees getting free gas — originally meant for first responders.

    There were cars getting fueled up. A woman was spotted putting two gas cans into her trunk. There were long lines.

    They seem like scenes from a typical gas station, right?

    Well, not quite. They were taking place in the parking lot at the World’s Fair Marina on Friday.

    It was a fueling station, not only for first responders and NYC vehicles, but also, it seems, for the personal vehicles of any city employee.

    And the gas was free!

    The woman with whom Gen. David Petraeus was having an affair is Paula Broadwell, the author of a recent hagiographic book about him, All In: The Education of General David Petraeus.

    It had long been rumored that something was going on between Petraeus and Broadwell. Her book, co-written with Vernon Loeb, is widely regarded as a valentine to the general. When she was embedded with him in Afghanistan, they went on frequent 5-mile runs together.

    An affair with an embedded reporter could not have been kept secret. Certainly no investigation, such as the very thorough one the General went through before becoming DCIA would have missed it.

    There is simply no way, NO WAY, the White House did not know about the affair before Petraeus was chosen for this post.

    The call for Republicans to discard their opposition to immigration amnesty will grow deafening in the wake of President Obama’s victory. Hispanics supported Obama by a margin of nearly 75 percent to 25 percent, and may have provided important margins in some swing states. If only Republicans relented on their Neanderthal views regarding the immigration rule of law, the message will run, they would release the inner Republican waiting to emerge in the Hispanic population.

    If Republicans want to change their stance on immigration, they should do so on the merits, not out of a belief that only immigration policy stands between them and a Republican Hispanic majority. It is not immigration policy that creates the strong bond between Hispanics and the Democratic party, but the core Democratic principles of a more generous safety net, strong government intervention in the economy, and progressive taxation.

    The Republican Party receives advice from those who say that, because Hispanics are voting for Democrats in large numbers, Republicans should join Democrats in pushing for comprehensive immigration reform.

    As the Democrats shrewdly insist, any comprehensive immigration reform proposal must include a path to citizenship (i.e. voting status) for large numbers of illegal immigrants, nearly all of them Hispanic. And the propensity of these immigrants — low-income, poorly educated, etc. — to vote for Democrats will be even greater than that of current Hispanic-Americans.

    Thus, Republicans are being urged to support legislation that will significantly increase the number of voters who will, en masse, vote for Democrats. What a deal.

    Obama’s vote total will be down something like six to eight million from his 2008 total; it is unprecedented for a president to be re-elected without adding to his vote total from the first election. Hardly a vote of confidence.

    The white vote, it turns out, was tepid. If the white vote had turned out to its potential, Romney wins and we wouldn’t need to go through the current hand-wringing about whether the GOP needs to seek amnesty from Latinos.

    Romney won white evangelicals by a four-to-one margin—as high or higher than George W. Bush in 2004.

    It’s going to be a while before we know better whether the total potential evangelical vote didn’t turn out for Romney, and if not, why. Could it have been that many evangelicals couldn’t bring themselves to vote for a Mormon, and simply stayed home? I distinctly recall polling data from back in 2008 that found as many as 20 percent of voters said they wouldn’t vote for a Mormon (versus only about 1 or 2 percent for a black or a Jew), and I wondered whether those 20 percent were un- or anti-religious liberals who wouldn’t vote for a Republican in any case, or whether they were theologically conservative evangelicals who are uncomfortable with heterodox Mormon doctrine? I’ve had numerous conversations with serious evangelical friends over the last couple of years who all said of course I’ll vote for Romney because I can’t stand Obama, but they admitted having doubts about it.

    Evangelical America has been flogging Mormonism as Satan’s own retail outlet for decades. But the suddenly ubiquitous appearances of the word cult on the eleven o’clock news and in ostensibly serious political conversations in the early primary days gave legitimacy on the national stage to the characterization of me as a glassy-eyed, reclusive loon from whom the neighborhood alley cats run in fear.

    As for the ‘long term’ …
    The Economist
    Since 1929 Republican presidents have had ten full terms in office. The average annual real price change in American equities over this period is slightly less than zero, according to Barclays Capital’s “Equity Gilt Study” (see chart). The average real price gain in years of Democratic presidencies has been 7%. In nominal terms, the Democrats have walloped the Republicans by 10.8% to 2.7%.

    So the data (yes that liberal biased reality) shows that the stock market does better under Democrat presidents than Republicans.

    Inflation? In the past 70 years inflation under Republicans averaged 3.89% compared with 3.13% percent for Democrats

    I’d say the short and long run are looking better, especially if the GOP can learn to work with the president instead of trying to destroy the economy with the foolish idea that it makes them look good – there’s a reason Congress’s approval rating is 10%

    From the very Economist article, some proof that Jill doesn’t know Jack:

    “All these data are subject to caveats. First, there are only 14 presidents in the sample. Second, the president shares power with an often recalcitrant Congress. For 30 out of their 40 years in office since 1929, Republican presidents have not had control of both houses of Congress; Democratic presidents have shared power in only ten out of their 44 years in charge.     The third caveat is that economic policy is also set by the Federal Reserve.     For three plus years the federal government hasn’t had a budget. Does that mean that a majority of those who voted believe it is better to have a government with no budget?

    Obama hasn’t met with his jobs council and cabinate for many months. Most of that time, he has spent campaigning. Now that he doesn’t have anything left to campaign for, will that be free time? Or will he be spending some actual time trying to create jobs, etc.?

    One thing is certain – the Democrat plan to drive a wedge between men and women is working:

    President Obama won women by 12 percentage points, while Mitt Romney won men by 8. That’s a 20-point gender gap, edging out the 1984 election when Ronald Reagan defeated Democrat Walter Mondale in a landslide.
    Reagan won both men and women in that election, but carried men by 28 points and women by only 10 – a disparity of 18 points.

    2012 was the fifth straight election to feature a double-digit gender gap.

    Still, Romney performed better among women than Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) did in 2008. Obama had a 14-point advantage among female voters over his GOP counterpart that year. Romney also outperformed McCain among men in this election – in 2008 Obama and McCain split the male vote.

    The politics of gender played a significant role throughout the 2012 election, as Romney looked to cut into Obama’s advantage among female voters by framing the economy as a women’s issue.

    The strategy worked for a while, as polls showed women flocking to the GOP challenger after his strong first debate performance.     Victory for the President marks the first time since its inception that Obamacare is no longer a what-if; it is the future of health care in America.

    It also means a near immediate impact on the economy. With 20 or so new or higher taxes set to be implemented, ranging from a $123 billion surtax on investment income, through the $20 billion medical device tax, all the way down to the $600 million executive compensation limit, Obamacare will be a nearly unbearable tax burden on the economy.

    Who will pay? The middle-class workforce, of course.

    Welch Allyn, a company that manufactures medical diagnostic equipment in central New York, announced in September that they would be laying off 275 employees, or roughly 10% of their workforce over the next three years. One of the major reasons discussed for the layoffs was a proactive response to the Medical Device Tax mandated by the new healthcare law.

    As recently as a week ago, a global auto parts manufacturing company in Ohio known as Dana Holding Corp., warned their employees of potential layoffs, citing “$24 million over the next six years in additional U.S. health care expenses”. After laying off several white collar staffers, company insiders have hinted at more to come. The company will have to cover the additional $24 million cost somehow, which will likely equate to numerous cuts in their current workforce.

    One of the biggest medical device manufacturers in the world, Stryker will close their facility in Orchard Park, New York, eliminating 96 jobs in December. Worse, they plan on countering the medical device tax in Obamacare by slashing 5% of their global workforce – an estimated 1,170 positions.

    FORCED OUTSOURCING THANKS TO OBAMA/DEMOCRATS:

    In October of 2009, Boston Scientific CEO Ray Elliott, warned that proposed taxes in the health care reform bill could “lead to significant job losses” for his company. Nearly two years later, Elliott announced that the company would be cutting anywhere between 1,200 and 1,400 jobs, while simultaneously shifting investments and workers overseas – to China.

    In March of 2010, medical device maker Medtronic warned that Obamacare taxes could result in a reduction of precisely 1,000 jobs. That plan became reality when the company cut 500 positions over the summer, with another 500 set for the end of 2013.

    A short list of other companies facing future layoffs at the hands of Obamacare:
    Smith & Nephew – 770 layoffs
    Abbott Labs – 700 layoffs
    Covidien – 595 layoffs
    Kinetic Concepts – 427 layoffs
    St. Jude Medical – 300 layoffs
    Hill Rom – 200 layoffs
    Beyond the complete elimination of a significant number of American jobs is another looming problem created by the health care law – a shift from full-time to part-time workers.

    A JP Morgan economist “points out that 8.3 million people are working in part-time jobs even though they’d prefer full-time work. Unfortunately, because of President Obama’s health care law, the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (PPACA), workers in the hotel, restaurant, and retail industries could be pushed into part-time jobs working less than 30 hours per week.”

    “Under the health care law, if a company has more than 50 “full time equivalent” workers, a combination of full and part-time employees, but doesn’t offer “affordable” coverage that meets the government’s minimum value standard, the company will have to pay a penalty. This penalty is determined by the number of full-time employees minus 30 full-time employees. So to reiterate a very important point: part-time workers are not part of the penalty formula. The health care law creates a perverse incentive to hire part-time versus full-time workers.”

    Tangible examples of Obamacare causing a reduction in full-time workers:

    According to the Orlando Sentinel, Darden Restaurants, a casual dining chain best known for their Red Lobster, Olive Garden and LongHorn Steakhouse restaurants, is “experimenting with limiting the hours of some of its workers to avoid health care requirements under the Affordable Care Act when they take effect in 2014″.

    The CEO of JANCOA, Mary Miller, testified to Congress that Obamacare was a “dream killer”, adding that one option she had to consider “is reducing the majority of my team members to part-time employment in order to reduce the amount that I will be penalized.”

    According to a source, Obamacare could result in tens of thousands of Kroger employees being limited to working 28 hours per week.

    This is by no means, meant to be an exhaustive list. But it is meant to provide examples of real companies, real jobs, and real names, soon to be added to the growing list of employment casualties provided by the inevitable implementation of Obamacare.

    America voted for four more years of President Obama and his destructive economic and health care policies. By extension, America voted their approval of the aforementioned layoffs and overall work reduction.

    Now we must accept the inevitable. Welcome to mourning in America.

    Here’s the truth about Bush’s last year. Only half of the TARP money was needed to shore up the banks. Bush said he would make the other half available to Obama if Obama requested. So $400 billion in TARP money is due to Obama’s request. Then there is the $800 billion stimulus bill passed just after Obama came into office. That, too, is accounted for as Bush’s deficit.

    In reality, about $1.2 trillion dollars of spending properly belong to Obama rather than Bush.

    Actually, no – there were far more popular votes for Republican / Conservative/ Libertarian (Read that as “Right”) candidates like Mitt Romney, Gary Johnson and Ron Paul than there were for neofascist pseudoprogressive Loopy Loony Leftie Barack Hussein Obama.

    The Repubiican party also maintained it’s cmajority in the House, and won additional governorships.

    Contrary to Obama’s grandiose and delusional beliefs, he has far from a “mandate” – the nation is deeply divided (thanks to him and his) and is actually leaning to the right.

    Democrats should think twice about becoming the party of pot. I’m a lifelong partisan Democrat, but I’ve also spent 25 years as a doctor treating drug abusers, and I know their games. They’re excellent con artists.

    Take, for example, medical marijuana laws. They were sold to more than a dozen states with promises that they’re only for serious illnesses like cancer.

    ¶ But that’s not how they work in practice. Almost all marijuana cardholders claim they need it for various kinds of pain, but pain is easy to fake and almost impossible to disprove. In Oregon and Colorado, 94 percent of cardholders get their pot for pain. In Arizona, it’s 90 percent. Serious illnesses barely register.

    ¶ It’s possible that they all really do need pot to help them. But consider this: pain patients are mostly female, whereas a recent National Survey on Drug Use and Health found that adult cannabis abusers were 74 percent male.

    ¶ So which one do marijuana patients resemble? Though only two states release data on gender, a vast majority of medical-marijuana cardholders are male. In Arizona, it’s 73 percent, and in Colorado, it’s 68 percent. The best explanation for such skewed numbers is that most medical marijuana recipients are drug abusers who are either faking or exaggerating their problems.

    No one should support this subterfuge, but especially not Democrats. It turns us into hypocrites.

    Democrats know we need government regulation to protect the public from unhealthy products. But the marijuana lobby wants us to distrust two centerpieces of the regulatory state, the Food and Drug Administration and the Drug Enforcement Administration. The whole purpose of medical marijuana laws is to evade the regulatory power of these agencies. We’re the political party that got the F.D.A. to regulate tobacco. How can we now say it shouldn’t regulate pot?

    Legalization also runs counter to the Democrats’ commitment to education. States with medical marijuana laws have always had much higher rates of teenage marijuana use, but now the effect is nationwide. Since 2008, teenage use has increased 40 percent, and heavy use (at least 20 times a month) is up 80 percent.

    Blame the drive to legalize pot. It sends the message that weed is harmless, even though research shows that teenagers who use it regularly do worse in school, are twice as likely to drop out and earn less as adults. Teenage use has been shown to permanently lower I.Q.

    Democrat logic brought us the FDA and the DEA. The idea government knows better than we do that permeates moonbat thinking. Yet they go against the dictates of the bigger government they continue to champion!

    Of course, the article goes off the rails when it claims the evidence for anthropogenic climate change is “conclusive”. Must not have been paying attention when the primary cheerleaders for this nonsense (the U.K. Met Office) admitted there’s been no warming in the last 16 years.     Mass transit actually INCREASES the greenhouse gas output, STUPID!

    A major rationale — perhaps the major rationale — touted by supporters of mass transit is that by reducing our output of greenhouse gases and other pollutants, transit can help save the environment. The proposition seems intuitive and even obvious: by no longer encasing each traveler in thousands of pounds of difficult-to-move metal, surely transit is more energy-efficient. Plenty of analyses prove this. But then again, Aristotle, who was revered as the infallible font of truth for more than 1,000 years, proved that heavier objects fall faster than lighter ones and that women have fewer teeth than men. Might studies that demonstrate transit is greener be similarly wrong?
    They might. The reason is that many studies of energy efficiency by mode often make questionable and — depending on the author’s point of view — self-serving assumptions. The main trick is to look at autos with but one passenger and compare them to transit vehicles in which every seat is full.

    Take a look at ANY mass transit system – they are rarely full and in fact they are more often than not mostly empty, with rare exceptions.

    But in the real world, this is emphatically not the case. At any given time, the average auto has somewhere around 1.6 passengers, and the average (typically 40-seat) bus has only about 10. Rail vehicles typically have more passengers (on average about 25), but then again they are also typically much larger. Thus their average load factor (percentage of seats filled) is also not high, at about 46 percent for heavy rail systems (think subways in major cities) and about 24 percent for light rail (think systems that mostly run at street level).

    It is not clear that moving around large and largely empty vehicles is much of an improvement over moving around smaller ones. In fact, it may be worse. According to the Department of Energy’s Transportation Energy Data Book, in 2010 transporting each passenger one mile by car required 3447 BTUs of energy. Transporting each passenger a mile by bus required 4118 BTUs, surprisingly making bus transit less green by this metric.

    A bus produces more CO2 per passenger mile than the car for most trips.

    Pumping up ridership by adding transit service will probably do little good, and may even be counterproductive. The reason is that new service promises to reduce transit’s already less-than-spectacular load factors and result in largely empty vehicles.
    Why? At this point we have picked all the low-hanging fruit in terms of transit markets. We already have extensive rail transit service in the places where land use and demographic characteristics are congruent with high transit use—such as central Chicago, Boston, the San Francisco Bay Area, Washington D.C., Philadelphia, Los Angeles, and (writ very large) New York City. For the most part, any new transit service has to go to relatively low-density cities and low-density areas within cities, meaning that new investment would drag transit’s overall efficiency down, not up.
    To give an idea of how this phenomenon works, the heavily used New York subway system (58 percent of seats are typically filled) produces .171 pounds of CO2 per passenger mile, less than 1/3 the average for cars nationwide. However, the much more lightly used Cleveland, Pittsburgh, and Memphis light rail systems actually produce considerably more CO2 per passenger mile than cars do. Unfortunately, due to diminishing returns, new rail transit systems are more likely to resemble the latter three than the former one.

    Solving the Problem of Irreproducible Results

    These problems are especially rampant in moonbat science concerning climate change, stem cell research, gay issues and other lunatic leftist favorites. They keep coming up with “studies” that run completely counter to reality which are not reproducible

    How can that be if the moonbat idea that humans have usurped vastly more powerful natural forces and now drive temperature, weather and climate?

    American Capitalism Gone With A Whimper

    It must be said, that like the breaking of a great dam, the American descent into Marxism is happening with breathtaking speed, against the backdrop of a passive, hapless sheeple, excuse me dear reader, I meant people.

    True, the situation has been well prepared on and off for the past century, especially the past twenty years. The initial testing grounds was conducted upon our Holy Russia and a bloody test it was. But we Russians would not just roll over and give up our freedoms and our souls, no matter how much money Wall Street poured into the fists of the Marxists.

    Those lessons were taken and used to properly prepare the American populace for the surrender of their freedoms and souls, to the whims of their elites and betters.

    First, the population was dumbed down through a politicized and substandard education system based on pop culture, rather then the classics. Americans know more about their favorite TV dramas than the drama in DC that directly affects their lives. They care more for their “right” to choke down a McDonalds burger or a Burger King burger than for their constitutional rights. Then they turn around and lecture us about our rights and about our “democracy”. Pride blind the foolish.

    Then their faith in God was destroyed, until their churches, all tens of thousands of different “branches and denominations” were for the most part little more then Sunday circuses and their televangelists and top protestant mega preachers were more then happy to sell out their souls and flocks to be on the “winning” side of one pseudo Marxist politician or another. Their flocks may complain, but when explained that they would be on the “winning” side, their flocks were ever so quick to reject Christ in hopes for earthly power. Even our Holy Orthodox churches are scandalously liberalized in America .

    The final collapse has come with the election of Barack Obama. His speed in the past three months has been truly impressive. His spending and money printing has been a record setting, not just in America ‘s short history but in the world. If this keeps up for more then another year, and there is no sign that it will not, America at best will resemble the Weimar Republic and at worst Zimbabwe.

    These past two weeks have been the most breath taking of all. First came the announcement of a planned redesign of the American Byzantine tax system, by the very thieves who used it to bankroll their thefts, losses, and swindles of hundreds of billions of dollars. These make our Russian oligarchs look little more then ordinary street thugs, in comparison. Yes, the Americans have beat our own thieves in the shear volumes. Should we congratulate them?

    These men, of course, are not an elected panel but made up of appointees picked from the very financial oligarchs and their henchmen who are now gorging themselves on trillions of American dollars, in one bailout after another. They are also usurping the rights, duties, and powers of the American congress (parliament). Again, congress has put up little more than a whimper to their masters.

    Then came Barack Obama’s command that GM’s (General Motors) president step down from leadership of his company. That is correct, dear reader, in the land of “pure” free markets, the American president now has the power, the self-given power, to fire CEOs and we can assume other employees of private companies, at will. Come hither, go dither, the centurion commands his minions.

    So it should be no surprise that the American president has followed this up with a “bold” move of declaring that he and another group of unelected, chosen stooges will now redesign the entire automotive industry and will even be the guarantee of automobile policies. I am sure that if given the chance, they would happily try and redesign it for the whole of the world, too. Prime Minister Putin, less then two months ago, warned Obama and UK ‘s Blair, not to follow the path to Marxism, it only leads to disaster. Apparently, even though we suffered 70 years of this Western sponsored horror show, we know nothing, as foolish, drunken Russians, and so let our “wise” Anglo-Saxon fools find out the folly of their own pride.

    Again, the American public has taken this with barely a whimper…but a “free man” whimper.

    So, should it be any surprise to discover that the Democratically controlled Congress of America is working on passing a new regulation that would give the American Treasury department the power to set “fair” maximum salaries, evaluate performance, and control how private companies give out pay raises and bonuses? Senator Barney Frank, a social pervert basking in his homosexuality (of course, amongst the modern, enlightened American societal norm, as well as that of the general West, homosexuality is not only not a looked down upon life choice, but is often praised as a virtue) and his Marxist enlightenment, has led this effort. He stresses that this only affects companies that receive government monies, but it is retroactive and taken to a logical extreme, this would include any company or industry that has ever received a tax break or incentive.

    The Russian owners of American companies and industries should look thoughtfully at this and the option of closing their facilities down and fleeing the land of the Red as fast as possible. In other words, divest while there is still value left.

    The proud American will go down into his slavery without a fight, beating his chest, and proclaiming to the world, how free he really is. The world will only snicker.
