This is a good indication of what it means that voters have contemptibly chosen government dependency over individual freedom and responsibility:
Yesterday’s nor’easter proved too much for the Federal Emergency Management Agency’s aid location in Tottenville, [Staten Island] — which hung a sign reading “Closed due to weather” as the wintery storm blew into town.
Ten FEMA centers in the area reportedly suspended operations because of the storm, although the location with the sign at the Mount Loretto Community Center did open at noon.
Staten Island is still in a state of abject misery following Sandy. Despite Obama’s politically advantageous photo op with Benedict Christie, FEMA and the rest of the Feds haven’t been much help.
By choosing to become reliant on a government that will not be there when they need it, those who voted for Obama will reap what they sowed. Unfortunately the rest of us will reap it too.
