Public College Professor: Butcher Joseph Stalin Committed No Crime

Given the economic devastation, the vast senseless misery, the crushing of the human spirit, and the 100+ million killed by communism, how is it possible that America — until only recently a beacon of liberty — would elect and then, despite his disastrous performance, reelect a collectivist with a communist background? Because with each year Americans are less able to distinguish up from down as a result of the bad guys running the schools. For example:

A professor at a public university recently denied Soviet Union Leader Joseph Stalin was responsible for the murder of millions, saying he has “yet to find one crime — one crime that Stalin committed.”

“I know they say he killed 20, 30, 40 million people,” continued Grover Furr, a professor in Medieval English at Montclair State University.

“It’s bull****.”

Professor Grover Furr of Montclair State University said he has yet to find “one crime that Stalin committed.”

He should read up on Stalin’s Holodomor before opening his mouth. But then, Professor Curr probably knows Stalin killed tens of millions, and thinks they were “rich peasants” who deserved to die for not be sufficiently impoverished. Besides, you can’t make an omelet without breaking a few eggs, as communists and their sympathizers have thought it clever to say.

Who cares what a professor of medieval navel-gazing thinks? We all should, because the more useless the class, the more likely it is to be subverted for purposes of left-wing propagandizing.

Where are young Americans to learn the facts of the world if not at school? From the news media? Walter Duranty of the execrable New York Times earned a Pulitzer Prize for his role in keeping Stalin’s crimes from the American public that to this day the board refuses to revoke.

Those who would cover up the crimes of communists would not mind being complicit when they are committed again. People raised on liberal lies will never know what hit them.

Couldn’t agree more. Anyone who can’t tell the difference between a center-left POTUS – who put Tim Geithner as SOT and retained Lawrence Summers as an econ advisor – with a communist is a moron.

That is true – gotta give credit where it’s due.

There’s a difference between a mixed economy and communism. In fact, it’s a gigantic difference that makes them nothing alike.

What’s nuttier given the evidence? Calling Obama a communist, or Obama is like Stalin? That it’s a nutty-off tells you all you need to know.

Grover Furr must be an Obama-voter.

    .
This is just another reason to teach your kids about reality before they set foot in a government school. When they’ve been fully briefed that their teachers are all communist-sympathizers, they won’t listen to their claptrap.

And more importantly, this is just another reason to train yourself and your kids in survival, weapons, fighting, etc. Because the day will come when all these commie-kids will rise up in order to “get what’s rightfully theirs” from the “rich”, and they’ll need to be taken down swiftly and decisively.

  • Son of Taz

And, there are people still wondering why we have the Communist for another four years.

    I rest my case.

  • Metrodorus

Yes. The problem with this country is all them Marxist professors. Let’s attack intellectuals, close down the universities, or turn them into vocational schools. That will fix our problems.

  • rockman

He murdered the guilty along with the innocent (Kirov, Malenkov, Bukharin, Trotsky, Yezhov…old Bolsheviks lived in mortal fear of denunciation and the midnight knock at the door). Anyone who can read has access to the long, miserable list of Stalin’s crimes. Dr. Furr somehow expects us to take his word over Solzhenitsyn’s. Stalin didn’t pull the triggers, he had others do it for him while he skillfully and brutally manipulated the levers of power. I wish I could send Furr to Kolyma for the winter to ponder his obstinate stupidity while pushing a wheelbarrow full of gold ore at 25 degreees below zero.

  • Tchhht!!!

Come on people. It can’t be a crime if the government sanctions it. /sarc

    ________

Howard, when you are right, you are right. Obama is not a communist. He believes in government control of private industry, such as the auto companies, the banks, health care industry, etc. As such, Obama is a fascist.

On the other hand, if Obama believed in the direct take over of private industry, such as the student loan program for college kids, that would be an example of communist beliefs.

The fundamental belief in redistribution of wealth is a fundamental tenant of Marxism, whether it is Fascism or Communism. Barack Obama is most certainly a Marxist.

BTW, Howard….what happened to those 12 million Ukrainians under Stalin’s rule?

  • whotothewhat

We are close to repeating history. With every generation further removed from the events we rail against. The more likely they will be embraced in the future. The newest 20 something generation has no clue about Stalin other then old pics on a screen or a history channel TV show? Look a lot of these 20 somethings think they have it all figured out, the left is cool they give me stuff my girlfriend gets free birth control and if I get her pregnant the govment will pay for an abortion.

That’s why we who see the USA of a land of promise and opportunity if you go to school get good grades have a sense of morals and work hard, lost this election.

Santa has come to town with his sleigh full of Obama bucks and phones and free birth control for all the lefty good boys and girls, of course as long as we who work hard pay for it. The problem will be when we can no longer pay for all this social welfare and this society collapses, then comes the Commies and the facist’s and these so called professors will be leading the march

  • Bob Roberts

Look, those innocent people were nevertheless impediments to the glorious advance of socialism and so they weren’t murdered, they were martyred! We should not mourn their loss, we should CELEBRATE IT!

Indeed what if we were to emulate Stalin and start having moonbat lib-tards report to camps all over this country so we could achieve their glorious goal of reducing America’s carbon footprint?

Wouldn’t that be a good thing?

    Two birds with one stone?

  • Bob Roberts

Seriously folks, we can see what’s coming. Russia and China becoming more belligerent. America being deliberately, systematically weakened every day the Democrats remain in power. We’re about to get another HUGE lesson that the freedoms we cherish inevitably demands the blood of patriots from time to time. Since the Democrats are calling to reinstate the draft, let’s go ahead and send Democrats in the first waves this time. Sound good?

Once they soften them up we can go finish the job.

And take heart – most of the urban centers – where our enemies will attack with weapons of mass destruction – tend to vote Democrat so that problem will solve itself too.

  • Bob Roberts

(Some grammar police will note I have 1 extra “s” in there somewhere.)

    Meanwhile…

Out here in CA gerrymandering of districts has resulted in our State and local governments becoming even more hopelessly infested and infected with liberals. I vowed I would never leave and still feel that way but there may come a time I will be left without a choice the way things are going.

  • Smorfia48

    Metrodorus says:

“Yes. The problem with this country is all them Marxist professors.”

You begin by misrepresenting the point being made and then attacking it. Nobody except you claimed that all of America’s problems stem solely from Marxist professors. You would, if you’d been competently educated, have realised your opening argument is the strawman fallacy.

    “Let’s attack intellectuals,”

This is the argument from authority fallacy. There is no reason to refrain from criticising ahistorical, morally obnoxious jibberish just because the person spouting it gets to put “professor” in front of their name.

“close down the universities, or turn them into vocational schools. That will fix our problems.”

And this is yet another strawman fallacy. Nobody but you put this argument forward.

Except for the single word “Yes” at the beginning, literally every sentence you wrote was a logical fallacy. Nothing you wrote refutes the OP in any way and the appalling debating skills and ignorance of classical logic you’ve just demonstrated only damns the “educators” you seek to defend further.

  • Mr Evilwrench

Hard to find something you’re not looking for, but hey, wasn’t Stalin the decider over there? How can you break the rules when you make the rules? I’m thinkin it’s semantic trickery, ie baffle them with bullshit.

I saw an article identifying political contributions from the Princeton professors & staff …w/ the exception of a janitor and a visiting engineer lecturer who contributed to Romney, all that were mentioned gave to Obama…in their report w/ those that contributed relatively large amounts! { reference: iOWNTHEWWORLD.com } The comments for this article in IOTW were better than I could come up with.. at the time, the 1st & only 2 comments that I read sometime between 2 – 5 am MT 11/8/2012 .. …!!! Probably, Professors at Princeton are not reading Moonbattery, but, I praise them for being honesty in regards to what they gave to the President Obama campaign ! OK ! I gave € 00.0 jack

  • Metrodorus

    Obama a communist?

Oddly, there are those on the left who think his mother and Indonesian stepfather were CIA and supported right-wing causes. They did show up in Indonesia at a pivotal historical moment when there was a right-wing coup and a slaughter of leftists.

  • Metrodorus

    Oh, and Smorfia:
Congrats, unlike most people at this site, you do seem to be able to reason!

  • Metrodorus

Oh, and my point though, Smorfia, was really more along the lines that there are easily a million or two collge instructors in this country. In any group that large, you’re bound to find eccentrics of all sorts. Elevating some anecdote like this (which probably isn’t even true–such anectdotes usually aren’t) into something about which one can draw any conclusions at all is just ridiculous. There’s a man in my town who likes to dress up like a clown and direct traffic. I actually don’t find his antics very relevant to civic discourse.

    __________

Because they don’t support any form of freedom (except for what drivel they publish). They choose not to compete in the free market probably because most of them could not survive.

Instead they spend all day filling impressionable kids with propaganda.

  • Metrodorus

Yes,Sam Adams! All those intellectuals gotta die cause they’re the reason you’re a loser.

But really, here’s the point to those of you here who can actually rub two brain cells together and come up with a thought.

The story on which these comments is based is really, truly, weird. It’s probably not true. But it has been posted here to get you all riled up about issues that are completely irrelevant. Believe it or not, public educators do not spend most of their time trying to indoctrinate students into archane schools of Trotskite or Stalinist politics.

They’re just people like you, doing their jobs, teaching kids reading, writing, and ‘rithmetic. Their agenda is to teach kids and to make a living.

This story is meant to turn you against the hard-working people who try to educate people. If this story is true, and I doubt it, it’s just really a bizarre weird aberration. It has nothing to do with the everyday reality of college teaching.

And, Smorfia, I think you’re being disingenuous not to get my point. Either that, or you’re stupid.

  • Metrodorus

    Oops, that should’ve been “Trotskyite.”

  • Smorfia48

“And, Smorfia, I think you’re being disingenuous not to get my point.”

No, I do get your point. It’s a strawman argument coupled with an appeal to authority. That’s why it’s a bad point poorly made.

Anyone who honestly believes that Stalin’s legacy has been besmirched by the West is deranged and if they do have control of their faculties but still
insist that The Steel Fist was innocent, it’s obviously a feeble attempt to re-write history. In Furr’s case, I suspect it’s another bit of evidence that the current crop of collectivists, unlike their minions, are NOT paving their road to serfdom with good intentions.

  • Lysander

Howard wrote: “There’s a difference between a mixed economy and communism. In fact, it’s a gigantic difference that makes them nothing alike”.

I wouldn’t say a “gigantic difference”, and in fact the only difference between a Democratic Socialist (Obama) and a Revolutionary Socialist
(Stalin) is a disagreement over the time it should take to reach the
mutually-agreed goal. If the goal is the same, the proponents are the same.
