Dems Move to Reinflict “Assault Weapons” Ban

As noted earlier, it didn’t take long for Obama’s reelection to trigger a new assault on our indispensible right to bear arms. Dianne Feinstein of the Land of Fruits and Nuts couldn’t even wait until Tuesday:

A few days before Barack Obama’s reelection on Tuesday, Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-CA) began getting ready to introduce legislation to bring back the assault weapons ban that expired in 2004. …

The law “would essentially ban thousands of firearms and require gun owners to turn them over to the Federal government,” Slavo writes.

With Obama, who supports the ban, in the White House for another term and the Democrats fully in control of the Senate, Feinstein will most likely be able to introduce the legislation. If any trouble is encountered in the Republican-held House of Representatives, then gun control advocates should fear not, as Obama would most likely issue an executive order to get around it as he’s done in the past when he doesn’t get his way.

The rampant crime that invariably accompanies liberal rule will be used as a pretext. It is bogus:

As has been reported, so-called assault weapons are used in a very minute percentage of crime, being used in only about one percent of gun crimes and 0.20 percent of all violent crime, and the ban in no way affected violent crime while it was law.

Banning “assault weapons” is of course only an interim step toward the obvious goal of banning anything that might be used by the last Americans to defend themselves against the authoritarian collectivists who rule us. Next comes banning clips that hold more than seven bullets, then comes banning semiautomatic pistols, then comes banning all pistols, then comes rifles, then comes knives, then comes blunt instruments, et cetera.

Don’t waste time putting energy into election. Dictators and Regimes DO NOT LOSE ELECTIONS. Noncompliance to the confiscation of the fruit of our labors. Organize with corporations, states, small businesses, and individuals to set and prepare for a drop-dead date of noncompliance to anything that requires business to confiscate employee monies and turn over to the slavemasters. No more income tax withholding by employers, no more reporting, as a spy, to the Amerikan government wages paid to an employee just so the government can be sure employee does not lie on tax return. No compliance to mandated reporting of who is getting insurance. No more compliance by doctors and hospitals to turn over medical records. Noncompliant to Amerikan law (which is an oxymoron). Be willing for short term suffering and withdrawal of federal funding for lots of stuff while American government (emboldened seceded states with maybe even support/might from Israel) builds treasury, which may not even be to traumatic if work begins before drop-dead noncompliance date. Unify. Plan. Prepare. Get the chains off. Don’t abdicate Freedom of the fruits of labor to enemies within pretending to be president and government of the people, for the people, and by the people. Let them have their country and their debt and their treaties and agreements with the UN BUT DON’T let them have Americans fund them through slavery. The secession will end up being larger than their Amerika, that will have no money, no military except their civilian army, no business, yada yada.

Don’t waste energy and time, that if lost will move us closer to a bondage that can’t be broken, on elections. It is an old game, a con, to distract and stall until complete usurpation is in place.

They won’t want us to have ammunition, either, so I’ll give them the bullets first. I may not survive, but I’ll die before I’m disarmed, and as many as possible of them will go with me. Aim away from center mass; trauma plates will stop 7.62×51, but kevlar won’t stop any rifle north of a .22LR.

What would be a good weapon for asymmetrical urban combat? If I had to fight professional troops in my neighborhood would I last longest with
    a shotgun,
    a hunting rifle,
an old school military rifle like a M1 or SKS,
a high caliber hand gun (357 magnum or better),
    a sub-machine gun,
    or a tactical 22 rifle?

Our people don’t have to steal or deal to get food, medical care, housing, or clothes. They get plenty–most welfare mamas are quite obese, cheap to free housiing, Medicaid, clothing allowances, even cell phones.

They need the extra cash for malt liquor, fancy cars, salon nails, flashy ugly jewelry, gold grills for their teeth, tattoos, wide screen TVs–you name it.

I am glad you live in a fairy tale land. Watch your back. Our poor people want revenge because those who work are not giving them enough free s#!t. Wait until the poor in your wonderful land decide they want ALL of what you’ve got. You’ve got stuff you worked for, they don’t got it, they want it, where do you come in?

@Momster: This is how it goes over here: we debate what is justified to have a right to own (for example food, clothing, school supplies for children, a television (right to be informed), and living in apartment that is big enough for your family) and then follow the law. To uphold these laws we have controllers, if anybody cheats they lose a third of what they get and so on until they don’t get anything.
No party – not even our socialist parties – advises to give the poor more than needed to live a life of minimal consumption based on an average scale.
I am very willing to follow such a law, as it guarantees me the same treatment if I might become poor. If I have to pay half of what my income is to the state, but have that guarantee, I have no problem with it. I also owe the state for the possibility to even earn that much, as my family wasn’t able to support me. This is how it works, we help each other, not desperately cling to our money.

Folks, as bad as it was, please read the column on CainTV this morning by Robert Laurie.

We can’t just give up. It ain’t over ’til it’s over and it ain’t over. We will regroup and we will defeat those who would make us slaves to their failed ideology.

Think big – staging marches like the progs do, only assemble hundreds of thousands. Image a million person march on DC of gun owners, and each one carrying their favorite iron. At the end of the day, there’d be no one shot or injured because gun owners, by and large, are responsible people. For those who can’t make it to DC, how about gun clubs organizing a similar march in front of their local mainstream media outlets – the NY Times for example. Maybe a network TV affiliate. They love to shoot video. Would they dare to ignore us then?

We have what they don’t – clear, logical, rational minds. We can defeat the communists in our midst, we just need to come together and do this.

    That’s the plan.

The red states that remain need to secede and form their own nation based on the Constitution and devoid of liberalism. I have no problem allowing a time to let liberals that live in those states move somewhere they will be happy and controlled, just get the hell out.

Looking at the 2010 electoral map shows that such a country would have two international borders, energy, agricultural and land mass resources and best of all a warm water sea port. It would be totally viable nation but surrounded on east and west by Soviet style dictatorships. That’s OK, I agree with numnut, let the leftists starve themselves to death in the dark, who cares?

Secession is the only answer now.

    or a tactical 22 rifle?

Metalgarth – You will need more than that to fight professional soldiers. However, roving street gangs and mauraders are another story. If could only have one gun, I’d go with a 12ga pump shotgun. They are shorter range than rifle but you lack the training to effectively employ a rifle. Pistols are lighter and easier to carry but less accurate and have far less killing power than a 12ga. For killing power the 12ga shotgun is unbeatable within its performance envelope. Additionally, ammo for it is abundant, for now, and you can take game with it from rabbits to deer, just stock birdshot, buckshot and slugs. The shotgun is easier to master than the rifle or pistol in a short time but still requires training and practice. If you get that far, you can also stock flares, gas rounds and dragons breath to give yourself some tactical advantages. When faced with a superior number of enemy targets a dragons breath round will scatter them giving you time to take cover or escape. Load one then have buckshot behind it in case they still want to fight. As to a specific weapon, I’d look at the Remington 870, they are inexpensive, absolutely reliable and spare parts are plentiful as they have been in production for decades.

The 22LR is tempting, I know, cheap light weight and plentiful ammo, but there is no such thing as a tactical .22LR. The cartridge lacks the power to make reliable human kills in untrained hands. If you were an Israeli sniper with a $10,000.00, scoped, suppressed .22WM then maybe, but I would not advise it if you will only have one gun. If you do both a 12ga AND a .22LR then the Ruger 10/22 is the one to get.

Some may disagree but that is what I would do if I were you. Hope this helps.

How much more effective is a 12g shot gun vs. a 20g shot gun?

I already have a 357 Magnum that I’m proficient with. Between that and a shotgun, I suspect I could at least make a stand against looters or other undesirables and wouldn’t need to get an assault rifle.

Decades ago, writer Josh Sugarman invented the term “assaulkt weapon”. He told friends that he did it to CONFUSE THE GUN DEBATE and give anti-gunners a cause. To this day, dispite attempts to define the term by legislators, police and the media, NO ONE has ever figured out what an “assault weapon” is!

  • AC

Pistols are pistols and long guns are long guns. The disparity in stopping power is huge.

A .357 is a good tool for dispatching a mugger or home intruder but it isn’t what you want against a mob of enraged looters. The LA riots provided hard evidence. There were store owners armed with wheelguns who were overrun by mobs.

I would feel undergunned with a G21 (13+1 of .45 ACP) in a civil unrest situation. Six shots just will not do.

NOBODY is going to overrun my position while I have my EBR and still draw breath.

Each round has substantially more stopping power, the rounds come 30 to a magazine, and the rate of fire is substantially higher.

  • RobM1981

    Metalgarth,

Since your question clearly relates to shooting clay pigeons, allow me to shed some light on things:

A 12Ga is going to give you a somewhat stronger pattern. It’s heavier to swing, but some clay-shooters actually like that. Some don’t. A really good shooter is going to take down clays with either gun, but note that the hard-core clay shooters will almost always go for the 12Ga.

    Hope this helps

I would like to take a moment to put to rest once and for all the myth that America’s poor are the way they are because they don’t get enough free stuff.

A person who makes little enough to qualify as “poor” in the United States can gain up to $34,000 a year in welfare benefits. While people on the higher end of the “poor” scale get less benefits, when added to their income it usually balances out to about the same amount. The transitions near the end where the total becomes less are what make welfare notoriously sticky, wherein people are reluctant to earn more because the loss of benefits would reduce their net income.

But I digress. Let’s simplify it and say that it’s entirely possible for a “poor” person/family to net roughly $34,000 in combined income and benefits. A minimum wage job working 40 hours a week makes a little over $20,000 a year, a private in the Army makes a little under that. I’m not sure about other places, but in most Texas cities it’s entirely possible to get a basic standard of living (steady food, shelter, clothes, utilities, a cheap car) for under $15,000 a year (my expenses right now are a little less than $10,000 a year, but I’m going to assume I’ve got it cheap). The problem is clearly not a lack of money, but a lack of fiscal discipline.

On the other end of the pipe, we spend roughly $60,000 per year for each family that is considered to be in poverty. It appears there must be some overhead someplace.

  • KHarn

    “AC says:November 9, 2012 at 1:21 pm”

The only places that were over-run were those that wewre UNDEFENDED and in the Korean neighborhood where the heaviest fighting took place. It was proved again and again that even someone with a .22 rifle could chase off dozens of looters. Forget about getting a “BFG”, get the BALLS to FIGHT!

  • AC

An unloaded gun will prevent most crimes, as study after study has shown. Most defensive firearms uses end without a shot being fired.

That doesn’t mean I’m going to bet my life on scaring off an attacker with equipment problems.

Don’t bet your life on not being around the “heaviest fighting.”

If I’m staring down a crowd of frenzied stampers then I want more than six shots of pistol ammo.

Undergunned victims were overrun when they ran out of ammo or couldn’t dish out the lead quick enough to prevent the mobs from overtaking their positions. Most mobs fled at the sight of a gun, but enough didn’t to rack up a pile of innocent bodies and burned-out, ruined businesses.

There were store owners who deployed tactical weapons. I didn’t hear of any of them being overrun or outgunned.

You can trust your life to a .357 and probably come out ahead, or you could choose a better weapon and be that much sure.

Can your wife/daughter repel a mob with a strong pistol if necessary? 5.56 is good for the whole family.

Statistically, plugging one homie with anything will probably stop the attack…probably. I’d rather have the ability to stop the whole sounder of stampers if it comes to that.

A .22 from the roof is totally different from being trapped inside a flammable home/store when the door is breached and frenzied felons begin flooding in. When the door is breached by a looter pack you will need to call up some serious firepower and quickly.
