As some of us, at least, know, it was not hispanics but rather voter fraud/voter intimidation that cost Romney the election.

The first question is whether Hispanic voters gave Obama his margin of victory. In a recent analysis, the New York Times’ Allison Kopicki and Will Irving looked at vote totals in each state, plus the percentage of the vote cast by Hispanics, to see what the outcome would have been had Hispanics voted differently.

For example, they looked at Wisconsin, a state the Romney-Ryan team hoped to win. Hispanics weren’t a huge part of the total vote — about 4 percent, according to the exit polls — and Obama won big among them, 65 percent to 31 percent. But going through the totals, Kopicki and Irving concluded that even if every single Hispanic voter in Wisconsin had cast a ballot for Romney, Obama still would have won.

They found the same result for New Hampshire and Iowa, two other swing states Romney looked to win.

Then there was Ohio. According to the exit polls, Obama won 53 percent of the Hispanic vote there. But given how decisively Obama won other voting groups, Kopicki and Irving found that the president would have prevailed in Ohio even if he had won just 22 percent of the Hispanic vote. Put another way, even if Romney had won a stratospheric 78 percent of the Hispanic vote, he still would have lost Ohio.

In Virginia, Obama won the Latino vote 65 percent to 33 percent. Kopicki and Irving found that if those numbers had been reversed — if Romney had won an unprecedented 65 percent of the Latino vote — Obama still would have won Virginia.

    ————

When one side is determined to cheat as much as it takes to win you really don’t have much chance if you’re determined to fight fair, unfortunately.

Yeah, I found that to be somewhat amusing when I posted that several days ago.

How much does said permit cost? I didn’t notice that in the article. They say, “give out” but under moonbats, nothing is completely free.

    THE GOP TURNOUT MYTH

The turnout myth comes from a statistic that has been endlessly repeated: Mitt Romney got fewer votes than John McCain in 2008. This isn’t quite true (Mr. Romney this week eked past the McCain totals), and in any event it is somewhat irrelevant. The Romney vote count reflects a nationwide voter turnout that was down nearly five percentage points from 2008. What matters is how the GOP did in the battleground states.

And there? Mr. Romney beat Mr. McCain’s numbers in every single battleground, save Ohio. In some cases, his improvement was significant. In Virginia, 65,000 more votes than in 2008. In Florida, 117,000 more votes. In Colorado, 52,000. In Wisconsin, 146,000. Moreover, in key states like Florida, North Carolina, Colorado and Virginia, Mr. Romney turned out even more voters than George W. Bush did in his successful re-election in 2004.

By contrast, Mr. Obama’s turnout was down from 2008 in nearly every battleground. He lost 54,000 votes in Virginia, 46,000 votes in Florida, 50,000 votes in Colorado, 63,000 votes in Wisconsin. Ditto Iowa, Nevada, New Hampshire, Ohio. The only state where Mr. Obama increased his votes (by 36,000) was North Carolina, and he was still beaten by a Romney campaign that raised its own turnout by a whopping 147,000.

Let’s revisit the sort of triumphs that result from obamunist style “smart diplomacy”.

Now wait a minute, wait a minute… note that the people are now turning against THE MUSLIM BROTHERHOOD.

    Isn’t that a good thing?

Still, it’s obamunist “smart diplomacy” that got us stuck with a member of that terrorist group installed in the Egyptian executive suite and he’s now grabbed total power without a group of generals to keep him in check as the REAL power behind the figurehead.

SO the REAL outcome of “smart diplomacy”?

Pretty much “same as it ever was” except Israel, Europe and the U.S. are in a lot more danger.

RIDING HIGH ON HIS U.S. MANUFACTURED DIPLOMATIC TRIUMPH, MORSI GRABS AUTHORITARIAN POWERS AT HOME

Thanks to Bush we had admittedly stumbling Democracies started in Iraq and Afghanistan which are admittedly quickly spiraling back to the same mess, if not worse, than before thanks to Obama.

Thanks to Obama, in Egypt, an important middle east power, we have a president who:

has taken “extensive new powers” for himself, freeing his decisions from judicial review and ordering retrials for former top officials who already had fair trials and were either acquitted or sentenced as was appropriate.

Indeed what we are seeing, thanks to Obama and the Democrats, as expressed in the graphic that heads this thread, is the same sort of will that made Hitler and Stalin look like the wave of the future to Obama’s predecessors in Hegelian thinking.

    More moonbat madness.

You have to just scratch your head at the things moonbats come up with, plus you gotta love the answers that people with functional brains come up with:

Anthony De Rosa: If Iron Dome is so successful, what’s the purpose of killing so many in retaliation, especially “human shield” casualties?

Robbie Guy [I'm rewording a bit]: If you had an AMAZING jock strap that reduced pain by 90%, can I still keep kicking you in the balls without you retaliating?

    ——————-
While I think Guy was BRILLIANT, his response HILARIOUS, my point is that Israel is not “retaliating”, nor is it correct that they’re doing so against “human shields”.

I think some clarification is in order.

    1) Israel is following up on the rocket launches by destroying the launch infrastructure to neutralize the ongoing threat. Iron Dome is not guaranteed – sooner or later missiles get through. Israel has a DUTY to take out ALL the launchers it can.

    2) The ONLY reason “human shield” or other casualties occur is because of the arab culture of death and the fact these people tolerate and even worship the terrorists in their midst. The rocket launchers are PURPOSEFULLY placed in high population density areas SPECIFICALLY TO GUARANTEE MAXIMUM CARNAGE WHEN ISRAEL RIGHTFULLY TAKES THEM OUT.

Israel is not responsible for ANY death that occurs in a retaliatory strike ON A MISSILE LAUNCHER. Anyone who lingers in any area anywhere near where a missile was launched DESERVES TO DIE in the predictable strike that will soon follow.

  • Bob Roberts

Oh, and 2a) Israel is also NOT RESPONSIBLE for any death that occurs when they take out a terrorist leader or even a rank-and-file terrorist. Anyone close enough to them when they get zeroed is fair game.

  • Bob Roberts

OK folks, anyone NOT see this coming?

The world is going to hell and what is Obama’s top priority?

Actually I don’t consider THEM the real danger. The real danger is the Fifth Column at home.

Starting with a “president” who refuses to acknowledge islam as the driving force of terrorism and war in the world. A complicit media where all are afraid to say the wrong thing and be labeled as “racist” which is readily exploited by an ever-increasing flood of moslems into the country.

The Fifth Columnists are responsible for hamstringing the troops with their ROE and by bringing them up on charges for doing too well in their own self-defense.

If we had a Reagan at the helm I’d say: BRING ‘EM ON and let’s get it over with.

The nuclear option wouldn’t even be needed to deal with these camel jockeys but I would keep it demonstrably on the table just because I like to assert our rights and capabilities. Call it the Big Stick if you will.

I’ve seen way better than that in the classrooms I grew up in. Of course I also saw far worse.

Remember the black guy in Britain that cold cocked the white girl and ran off? He’s been arrested. Here’s his reason why he attacked her:

Ayoade later told police that the petite 16-year-old ‘didn’t have a friendly face’, that he was ‘intimidated by her’ and that she ‘made me feel like a pauper with her facial gestures’.
He said he couldn’t cope with ‘taking an insult from a little person like that’.

    Here’s his lawyer’s defense:

Marianna Christou, defending, said that Ayoade had come to the UK from Nigeria when he was just three years old, and had to fend from himself from young age. He was said to have no contact with his family.
Ms Christou said: ‘He has drunk since he was 16 and smokes up to 10 joints a day which in my submission is excessive and perhaps this causes some degree of paranoia and low self esteem.’

BTW, I’m sick and tired of the double standard of a 28 year old female teacher having sex with her underage students being “getting lucky” and a 28 year old male teacher having sex with his underage students as “jail time and a life on the sex offender registry.”

The point isn’t whether the “victim” considers themselves to have been fortunate or not. Equal justice under the law demands that male and female sexual predators be treated equally.

Went to see “Lincoln” (Speigelberg) last night.

Probably no other figure in history has had as much written about him as Lincoln; from Carl Sandburg’s massive tomes all the way down to Bill O’Reilly’s comic book.

Yet the movie “Lincoln” dwelt obsessively with one thing and one thing only: the 13th amendment.

I saw this coming but for crying out loud, does everything in our modern parlance, …always… have to be seen through a black spectrum?

Aren’t there other colors in a spectrum?

I mean I really do not think that in 1865 you are going to have freed slaves speaking to Lincoln like Snoop Dog and his homies would address David Duke.

I could be wrong, but as blacks have continued a de facto war of wealth confiscation and sporadic violence against whites, don’t we have enough of the black narrative to move on just a little bit, to maybe at least provide a nod to history acknowledging that Lincoln was a just a millimeter more than the 13th amendment?

There are a lot more dumb ways to die, too.

For example…letting immigrants into the country that believe in forcibly converting you to their religion.

Or voting for a party that installs Health Care reform without death panels but with a panel that decides how much health care you get at what cost and when it no longer pays to treat your illness but that isn’t really a death panel because they don’t sentence you to death but they just deny you any more treatment, especially if your are old and infirm, or young and not so perfect.

  • Highway Hospital Student

And speaking of movies, saw the NetFlix “Treasure Island”. (2012 version)

    (I subject myself…why, I don’t have the slightest)

Okay. The view of movie directors/producers, etc., is that the audience loves seeing things through a black spectrum. I get it.

But c’mon. If you’re going to do an elaborate treatment of a classic, like “Treasure Island”–one of the greatest children’s stories of all time, —do you really think its necessary to have Billy Bones played by a black actor singing “16 men..” in a Jamaican accent in Jim Hawkin’s Inn?

Does half of Captain Smollett’s crew really need to be black gang bangers?

And I have to hand it to the script writers: yes, indeed, they managed to insert an heroic, stoic black woman into the story. There’s some writing talent there.

Don’t get me wrong–the movie was miscast all the way around. I mean Elija Wood as a whiny, pensive Ben Gunn?

But here’s the thing. When you cast a black for a white, you change everything from the original. That may be the intent. Casting Whoopi Goldberg in Disney’s “Snow White” would seem to me to have some rather odd implications.

But again can’t we move from obsessiveness over viewing everything from the black narrative?
