Time Magazine’s Person of the Year

Who could Time magazine pick for Person of the Year to most disgust any readers who aren’t barking moonbats? Some say parasitical slut Sandra Fluke, who lent herself to be used as a tool in Obama’s farcical though apparently successful War on Women campaign tactic:

Sandra Fluke, at the time a Georgetown University law student, became nationally known earlier this year after some controversial comments about her by radio host Rush Limbaugh. She even received a phone call of support from President Obama, and delivered a fiery speech at the DNC.

Fluke was called a “slut” by Limbaugh – who later apologized – after she testified before a House committee that many college students were struggling financially because they have to pay for birth control on their own.

Fluke’s appeal for coercively subsidized degeneracy was all the more preposterous because the 31-year-old was attending a Catholic university, where vestigial remnants of morality can be expected even now. Law school tuition there runs $24,417.50 per semester, well beyond the reach of someone who can’t afford $1 condoms.

It would be hard to imagine a more profoundly unappealing human being than Sandra Fluke — which makes her a natural candidate for the slime at Time.

But not even Sandra Fluke could be as deleterious for our country as this likely candidate:

Time magazine is asking readers to vote on whether illegal immigrants should be deemed its Person of the Year 2012. The publication says the group is ” ‘labeled illegal’ by many,” although it does not clarify how individuals coming into a country in violation of immigration laws could be defined any other way.

If the idea is to come up with the person who best represents the current course of history, there is a still better choice — the Obamaphone Creature:

There you have her: 2012 Obamunist America personified.

“well beyond the reach of someone who can’t afford $1 condoms.”

Condoms are birth control for men not women.

TM’s PoY is supposed to be about a person(s) who “for better or for worse, …has done the most to influence the events of the year.”

Sandra Fluker was a total flash in the pan – her entire news cycle lasted a couple of weeks, with a 3-4 day peak; outside of hard-core proggy circles, no one even knows who she is.

Illegal aliens?!? I sure didn’t see a whole hell of a lot of news stories about illegals this election year; maybe in the NYT or Wapo, but we’re back to that whole prog thing again…

  • Bill T

This should help move illegal aliens to the top of the pile!

Dave, couldn’t agree more that the Obamaphone Creature actually personifies the 2012 Obamunist America person of the year under Time’s standards. However, [it] could hardly pass Biden’s “clean and articulate” test, much less Dingy Harry Reid’s “light-skinned and no negro dialect” test to be ready enough for the mainstream media to be coronate it as Time’s annaul poster child for liberalism.

  • Jim

The choice is easy – the Obama parasites.

  • StanInTexas

Sinister, condoms are birth control, and women carry them as well.

But your point is taken, Fluke was demanding that someone else pay for her birth control pills, not condoms. That does not make he any less a fraud and a slut.

To honor the human achievement of the year, I would recommend the Curiosity Mars Science Laboratory. There is nothing like exploration to lift the spirit, however, we are replacing Lewis and Clark with R2-D2 and C-3P0.

    “Henry says:November 29, 2012 at 12:19 pm”

Right you are. I was going to point out TIME’s criterior for “Man/Woman of the Year” (Again, I HATE ‘gender neutrality’) myself.

While ILLEGAL ALIENS have made an impact on the world, makeing them “whatever” of the year would only be a finger in the eyes of LEGAL Americans and possibly an EMBARASMENT for the ONEderchild since, as it was pointed out, they have been scrubbed from the news. Now why did that happen? It couldn’t be because it was an ELECTION YEAR, could it?

  • Russ Rogers

How “farcical” is something if it is also “successful”?

If there is NO “War On Women,” why do Republicans keep blindly playing into that theme? Why did Rush Limbaugh viciously attack Sandra Fluke to begin with? Why was Mitt Romney’s response to that attack so sniveling and milquetoast? Why do Republicans say stuff like “Legitimate Rape,” or “Rape is God’s Will”? That’s absolutely stupid nonsense! Why are Republicans trying to legislate away the Reproductive Rights of Women with invasions to women’s privacy and autonomy like trans-vaginal wands? Yuck! Why did Republicans try to neuter the Contraception Mandate in Obamacare to begin with? They were too busy playing obstructionists to realize they were pissing-off female voters. Why haven’t Republicans name ANY female Congresswomen to head up ANY of the 21 Congressional Committees next year? Why? Because Republicans don’t care about the opinions of Women Voters! Republicans seem to want voters to think that Women are afterthoughts, secondary citizens. And so a majority of Women Voters have decided they don’t need to care about the Republican Party either!

If there is no “War on Women,” don’t refer to women like Sandra Fluke as “Parasitical Sluts”! Because the more you casually denigrate women, the more you will both underestimate women as political rivals and alienate women as potential supporters! That’s just foolish, moonbatty, if you will. And, honestly, that did NOT work out well for Conservatives this last Election Cycle!

It’s not that difficult a concept. If you want to earn someone’s respect, you need to be prepared to show some respect first. Conservatives seem to have trouble doing that, especially with women. Why is that?

Actually, I think Sandra Fluke is the perfect choice for Time’s Person of the Year. Can you think of anyone who better represents the America of 2012 than Ms. Fluke?

She is a 32-year-old law student with no personal accomplishments, who has never worked, and who vacations in Europe with her billionaire boyfriend yet wants the government to force a Catholic institution to pay the $9 per month cost of her birth control.

She is a complete nothing who has been and continues to be a drag on society. She was paid by Marxists to sell slavery as freedom to the feeble minded and miseducated. Her claim to fame has been as the symbol of the most absurd campaign theme in the history of human democracy, the non-exisitent War on Women, that led a coalition of idiots, crooks and parasites to electoral victory over the remnants of the productive classes.

So hell yes, put her on that cover so that the people of the future get an idea of what 2012 America was really like. Sandra Effing Fluke.

Well, she is a slut who expects us to be forced to pay for her lifestyle -which makes her parasitical. It isn’t a war on women, it is a war against whorish behavior; if she doesn’t like the label -well that is up to her. Don’t like being called out for being a parasite? Then Stop being a parasite!
Where were you when your political side was calling Bristol Palin a slut?
Where were you when your hero Bill Mahr and his ilk carry on the Demonrat war against Conservative women?
Where were you, defending Ann Romney’s upstanding choice to be a stay at home mother while the lib press villified her for it?
If you want someone’s respect -what???
If you want someone’s respect, you EARN IT.
Why is it libs have such a difficult time EARNING anything on their own?

Who under age forty reads magazines anymore, let alone Time, let alone cares who the POTY is?

I have to admit, a Time magazine in the waiting room is a perfect prelude to that root canal.

Perhaps you are unfamiliar with the first amendment. It says something about the government not interfering with the free exercise of religion.

Now, let’s try a mental exercise. Let’s say my religion requires me to bite off the head of a live chicken. If the government passes a law that says “No one can bite the head off a live chicken” they have put forward an unconstitutional law, because it interferes with my religious beliefs. It doesn’t matter if you agree with my beliefs or not; or whether they are silly or not. Those are still my beliefs, and the first amendment says the government can’t interfere.

    Understand?

Too bad you weren’t in Utah to see the race between Mia Love and Jim Matheson. Jim is a 6 term congressman, a white male and a liberal when he needs to be.
Mia Love was a mayor of a city, very well spoken, and both a woman and black. You would never believe all the negative attack adds that both Matheson and the DNC put out against Love.

Unfortunately she barely lost. Jim was voted into office by the white liberals who live in the capital city.

Hang in there Russ! @Sam Adams – What if my religion demanded that I marry multiple females, none over the age of 14 at the time we’re wed? What if my religion encouraged me to show my piety by killing those whom I percieve to denigrate my religion? Are those OK under your version of the First Amendment? HINT: UM, NO. The thing that Conservatives and Liberals forget is that the Founders were truly pragmatic compromisers. Read your history! They were MEN OF THEIR TIME. My favorite example: due to the pressures of the slave colonies, the 3/5ths rule was accepted in census counting. That was a cecession to the interests supporting slavery. That doesn’t make the Framers supporters of slavery; it makes them men who were focused on governing by consensus and compromise, NOT driving us into a ditch by means of dogma and fanaticism.

Fast forward: when the majority of voters favor the Obama agenda, don’t pat yourselves on the back for being divinely _right_, kick yourselves in the butt for failing to articulate an inclusive message that supports conservative principles! Sam says Mia Love “barely lost.” Oh, that’s great. Alan West LOST. Alan freakin’ Grayson Won! It’s the message, boys and girls. Either revel in your minority status as cranky reactionaries, or get your s**t together and craft a message that 50%+1 of 2012′s America can support. Let’s be men (and women) of our time.

You will note under each example I provided, none infringed upon the rights of another person. And that is the key issue; I can practice my religion, however whacky, without infringing upon the rights of others.

Your historical understanding is incorrect. Slave owners wished their slaves to be counted a full persons. That would give the slave states more representatives, providing them more control over congress.
Free states, on the other hand, did not want slaves counted in the census, since they couldn’t vote. With no slaves counted as citizens, the slave states would have had even fewer representatives, giving the free states more power.
You are right; they compromised, since neither side would accept what the other wanted.

Republicans lost due to the fact that it is hard to run against Santa Claus, voters have been dumbed down for 40 years by government schools and a liberal media, and the voting system is ripe with corruption. Yes, republicans could have improved their message, but the fix was in for Dear Leader.

How else do you explain that republicans lost every, single close contest?

Are none of you aware of the fact that Sarah Fluke was not speaking on her own behalf? She is a lesbian and doesn’t even take birth control. She was speaking on behalf of women she knew on campus who also weren’t sluts, but were using birth control to treat physical issues like endometriosis. The hormones in the contraceptive pill are frequently the only thing that helps a woman with a chronic medical issue, some of which are very painful and affect overall health.

She wasn’t trying to get the pill for the simple purpose of preventing pregnancy (though that is one of it’s many purposes), she was attempting to make sure that the pill was available as medication when needed. If the proposal was passed that would allow employers to deny women birth control via their insurance (based upon the religious sensibilities of the employer), many women who can not afford birth control unless they are insured would be affected, including those of us who take it for purely medical reasons.

This does not make Sarah Fluke a ‘slut’. It makes her concerned about women’s health. Whether she is deserving of a ‘Person of the year’ award is debatable, but she certainly isn’t deserving of the scorn and hatred conservatives have directed toward her.
