At first I thought it was a joke. But given that we are ruled by adolescents who cannot grasp that wealth is created by work, not issued by bureaucrats, they may actually be serious:
The White House on Wednesday didn’t outright deny the possibility of minting a $1 trillion coin, an idea that’s been floated as a way for the Obama administration to pay its debts if Congress were to fail to raise the debt ceiling in the coming weeks.
The Constitution assigns to Congress the responsibility for raising revenue to fund the government. But if Congress refuses to raise it quickly enough to keep pace with Obama’s never ending Cloward-Piven spending spree, he can just issue a coin and presto: $1 trillion has been conjured.
It makes you wonder what we need Congress for. Look for an executive order dissolving it to follow soon after the one repealing the Second Amendment.
