Baltimore moonbats pooh pooh NRA membership numbers
    http://articles.baltimoresun.com/2013-01-14/news/bs-ed-guns-letter-20130114_1_nra-national-rifle-association-adults

The number of NRA supporters is being touted as 4.2 million. I looked up the U.S. Census figures. The nation’s 2012 population was 311,591,917. Those under 18 comprised 23.7 percent or 73,847,284. That means the total U.S. adult population is 237,744,633.
    ___
BTW, the NEA boasts approximately 2.8 million active members, and practically nothing gets through many state legislatures without their rubber stamp
    Also, about that 100,000 number

I know I’ll get a lot of grief for this, but it sure would be nice for people to occasionally COMMENT on things once in a while instead of linking to other sites and articles which link you to yet MORE sites and articles which…

So I will just say that (a) I actually thought Obama would go much further than he did and (b) “From my cold, dead fingers”.

Obama using gun control to advance health care…

… and using health care to advance gun control, apparently in violation of the law we know as obamacare!

Tyrants typically use children in their propaganda campaigns.

Obama’s shameless exploitation of children as set pieces is hardly new or original. In fact, tyrants and dictators have used kids as props down through the ages.

    FORWARD!

Here’s one more voice for IMPEACHMENT. Let’s hope it starts to snowball.

Point taken, but this is an open thread. Most of the comments here will be things people want to bring to the attention of others but didn’t want to do it in one of the dedicated threads. In those threads you get dinged sometimes by some people if you bring up off-topic stuff but this daily thread is for “everything else”.

As for your comments about Obama – he’s not through yet, not by a long shot. This is just his first move in the process of taking your guns and if you think he will mind prying them from your cold, dead fingers, guess again!

If you thought the Great Depression was bad, wait until you see what’s coming!

I know – no more than 1 or 2 of you actually lived through the Depression, if that many. Like me all you know about it is what you’ve read or seen on TV or whatnot and most of that is probably liberal lies – about how FDR saved the country when he actually deepened and prolonged the Depression in fact. It took a World War to end it. Most everything FDR did just made things worse.

Iran-Israel war can’t be far off now.

Here’s how it will likely go down: Iran will attempt to run the blockade of Gaza to deliver terrorists and war material. Israel will intercept and there will be casualties. Don’t know who will shoot first, whether it will be Israel when the Iranians refuse to stop and in response to a warning shot will shoot to kill, or maybe Iran will just go for it and open fire as soon as Israel is in range.

    LOL About TIME!

They need to add an amendment that puts Joe (and all government employees) under obamacare, too. Senators, Representatives, Obama and his family. They need a taste of their own medicine.

House Republicans proposed a bill today that would cut the pay of Vice President Joe Biden and other federal officials, noting that the executive order that President Obama signed to raise their pay costs $11 billion in new spending.

“The President has once again demonstrated his penchant for unrestrained spending by giving federal employees an across the board pay hike and sticking the rest of us with the $11 billion bill,” Rep. Ron DeSantis, R-Fla., the lead sponsor on the bill, said in a statement today. “At a time when the average federal worker compensation is nearly double the median U.S. household income, and attrition from the federal workforce is already at an all-time low, we simply cannot afford this unnecessary and unilateral action by the President.”

Obama will do what he and the other Democrats do: incessantly nibble around the edges, getting what they can today and attacking again tomorrow. A little here, a little there, and over time they will have the whole thing, just as they wanted in the first place. And they will do it on multiple fronts: legislators, executive orders, obamacare, MSM, “never let a good crisis go to waste”, “it’s for the children”, etc.

One nutjob shooting from a population of over 300 million, and they (attempt to) use this single incident as the tipping point to disarm the entire population. Had it not been Sandy Hook Elementary, it would have been something else.

The only thing that’s ever stopped a bad guy with a gun is a good guy with a gun. Or, preemptively, the threat of a good guy with a gun (whether that threat be real or perceived).

Their policies are exactly backwards, and the sheeple can’t/don’t/won’t see it.

    Un-fukkin-believable.

    Editor Investigated Over Bumper Sticker

BHN EXCLUSIVE – Big Hairy News owner and editor Scooter Van Neuter was questioned by DOJ investigators Monday about a bumper sticker design posted last week in the comments section of his popular online news site.

“They wanted to know if we were calling for a revolution against the government of the United States involving the use of firearms,” said Van Neuter. “That, of course is ridiculous. We’re calling for normal people to revolt against rednecks using Barry’s symbol as a target, that’s all.”

Van Neuter called the questioning “nothing more than intimidation by a bunch of liberal retards,” and vowed to start selling the stickers out of spite.

This isn’t the first time authorities have questioned Van Neuter about content on Big Hairy News. Last year the DOJ accused his “Barack Obama Fan Club – Middle East Chapter” of promoting jihadist Muslim attacks on the President and other high profile Democrats, a charge Van Neuter categorically denied.

My observation is that the executive-orders-to-be are being called everything BUT executive orders.

“Obama also used his presidential powers to enact 23 measures that don’t require the backing of lawmakers.”

“Mr. Obama also announced 23 executive actions…”

    Also, ‘executive mandates’, ‘executive suggestions’

Correct any chance you can because this adjustment in wording is to keep the low=information voter from comprehending what is happening; many who would not be for the president to rule over them. The change in phrasing is to keep people from understanding and hearing.

backing off in the context of not outright arms confiscation. I think this bears repeating:

Progressivism. The inevitability of gradualism. It’s about the subversion of America.

Today’s oligarchy of aristocrats have complete control of the civilian population. Mainstream media “news” outlets pump pure propaganda 24/7 into the uneducated or unknowing minds of the public. They control the rhetoric with their spin and narrative. They mix facts with lies to make it unable to determine truth from fiction. Like kabuki theater they tell beautiful lies daily with pretty people wearing nice suits broadcast from some expensive corporate television stage. Lies that come from the government / public relations firms. Those papers they shuffle on their desk are the daily talking points.

The goal of the “news” is not to inform you, but to form you. It’s a story with their spin on it. Propaganda with the goal of Subversion. It’s psychological warfare.

The Soviet Stalinist term, Politically Correct was created to arrest those who opposed them, to silence free speech. Today accusing someone of not being politically correct is used to silence or slander opponents and paint them as racist or xenophobic. Don’t be Stalinist, don’t be politically correct.

Subverting a Nation: Demoralization, Destabilization, Crisis, Normalization.

Normalization, soviet term from 1968 Soviet propaganda “The tanks have moved into Prague, things have been Normalized”

FORWARD has been a communist slogan for over 100 years. This year Obama’s slogan was FORWARD.

    Forward indeed Comrades….H/T John Smith

    Irony defined by moonbats, AGAIN!

It turns out if you’re in law enforcement in New York, you’re a criminal.

A troubling oversight has been found within New York State’s sweeping new gun laws.

The ban on having high-capacity magazines, as it’s written, includes law enforcement officers.

It bans magazines with more than seven rounds. Period. No exceptions. Not even for police.

Nearly every law enforcement agency in the state carries hand guns that have a 15 round capacity.

  • Bob Roberts

They need to name the Journal-News as a co-conspirator and prosecute.

Two handguns and two pistol permits were stolen from the New City home of a man whose name and address are listed on the website of a local newspaper as possessing gun permits, police said.

Oh, by the way, note in the above list that more moonbats get their news/current events/politics from COMEDY CENTRAL shows (Daily Show/Colbert) than from CNN or MSNBC.

I don’t know whether that’s hilarious or scary just yet.
