Left-wing “mainstream” media dinosaurs Bob Schieffer and Tom Brokaw are two of the most cartoonish propagandists ever to pass themselves off as respectable journalists. That people would trust these shrill partisan kooks to tell them what’s going on in the world explains how a center-right country can be duped into electing a socialist government.
CBS’s Schieffer holds forth on the hard left’s attempts to crush the NRA for defending the Constitution:
“Surely, passing civil rights legislation, as Lyndon Johnson was able to do; and before that, surely, defeating the Nazis, was a much more formidable task than taking on the gun lobby.”
On one side, we have patriots struggling valiantly to defend an individual liberty prominently enshrined in the Constitution. On the other, we have oligarchical collectivists aggressively devoted to gutting that Constitution, running roughshod over even the fundamental human right to self-defense, and attempting to render the population defenseless against tyranny by seizing its firearms. The absurdity of the latter comparing the former to Nazis should be perceptible even to liberals.
The preposterous comparison of a campaign to deny us an essential civil right to civil rights legislation was echoed by the still more insufferable Tom Brokaw of NBC, on a program hosted by a professional racist whose pogroms got people killed at Crown Heights and Freddy’s Fashion Mart:
“Reverend Al, it reminds me a lot of what happened in the South in the 1960s during the civil rights movement. Good people stayed in their houses and didn’t speak up when there was carnage in the streets and the total violation of a fundamental rights of African-Americans as they marched in Selma, and they let Bull Connor and the redneck elements of the South and the Klan take over their culture in effect and become of face of it. And now a lot of people who I know who grew up during that time have deep regrets about not speaking out. There were a few brave souls who did and they were knocked down pretty hard within their own communities for coming out and speaking out in a moderate way, not even in a liberal way about the right of African-Americans to be able to vote, for example, and to walk into any restaurant they wanted to. But there was a lot of silence at the time. Now it’s time for the people who do have strong feelings, who are feeling that they can’t do anything about it, to kind of band together and have something to say here.”
For liberals, everything will always boil down to how much they admire themselves for championing blacks, no matter how irrelevant this pose may be to the matter at hand. Yet Bull Connor was a Democrat like Brokaw. Before blacks became a privileged “victim” class, they relied for self-defense against the terrorist arm of the Democrat Party (a.k.a. the KKK) on the rights the NRA defends and preening fascists like Brokaw and Schieffer relentlessly attack.
The two make it obvious why most Americans “have little or no trust in the mass media to report the news fully, accurately, and fairly.” No reasonable person could take these pompous clowns seriously except as threats to our country.
