An inaugural gift from the GOP

They should be holding today’s inauguration on the deck of the USS Missouri instead of the steps of the U.S. Capitol, so Barack Obama can formally accept the surrender of the GOP. Before Obama even places his hand on the Bible today, his rout of the House Republicans is already virtually complete. Not only have Republicans capitulated on taxes by violating their no tax pledge, Republican leaders have now announced that they are capitulating on spending as well, by violating the “Boehner rule.”

I think the sooner these Republican posers stop the charade and go home, the faster people will realize the Democrapts have enjoyed an oligarchy of power for some time now.

    QUOTABLE QUOTES

“I think the Republican Party, its apparatus, its so-called leadership, the parasitic consultants, represent an institution that is tired, old, almost decrepit, full of cowardice and vision-less. It has abandoned the Declaration of Independence and any serious defense of constitutional republicanism. The Democrat Party is now a radical 1960s party; it’s the anti-Constitution, anti-capitalism, anti-individual party. It largely controls the federal government, including the massive bureaucracy and much of the judiciary — what I call the permanent branches of the federal government. The Democrat Party represents the federal government, and the federal government expands the power of the Democrat Party. They’re appendages of each other. On the other hand, the GOP today stands for capitulation, timidity, delusion — so mostly nothing. Republicans may speak of the Constitution, limited government, low taxes, etc., but what have they done about them? Next to nothing if not nothing. Even when Bush 43 was president and the Republicans controlled Congress. What did they do? They went on a spending binge. They expanded Medicare, the federal role in local education, drove up the debt, etc. Meanwhile, we are lectured by putative Republicans like Colin Powell, Condoleezza Rice, Tom Ridge, and a conga line of others trashing often viciously NOT Obama and what the Democrats are doing to our nation, but conservatives, constitutionalists, and tea party activists who are the only people left standing for liberty against tyranny in this country…”

    1) You need help getting back on your feet. That’s ok. We have requirements for you to recieve this money(20 hours community service a week), random drug testing and home vists. OUR MONEY OUR RULES.
    2) Dear MSM reporter, what gives you creditibility? You have lied about people like myself your entire career.

  • Bob Roberts

Obama abandon’s false calls for “civility” and “bipartisanship” and gets down & dirty?

Funny how Obama always calls for cooperation but always refuses to cooperate, eh?

“For we, the people, understand that our country cannot succeed when a shrinking few do very well and a growing many barely make it,” Mr. Obama said in a 15-minute speech that drew repeatedly on the opening phrase of the Constitution.

Funny how Obama and Democrats keep ignoring that it is precisely when they get in power and further their agendas that middle and lower class people tend to do worse and worse.

Where were Obama’s demands for bipartisanship when he locked Republicans out of negotiations during the drafting of obamacare?

  • Bob Roberts

I like Mark Levin, but even he makes mistakes. I understand (from a third party) he made a comment to the effect that the Bill of Rights, the first 10 Amendments to the Constitution, don’t apply to the states.

Now it’s true the First Amendment, if you read it, clearly applies to CONGRESS at the FEDERAL LEVEL and one can reasonably extrapolate that since it has to do with NOT creating laws that it would naturally extend to activist federal courts who try to make such laws in an end run around Congress and the First Amendment. So clearly Levin is right about the First Amendment. It says right in it’s first words it applies to the federal government, not to the states.

But what about the Second Amendment? It states clearly and simply that the RIGHT to KEEP AND BEAR arms SHALL NOT BE INFRINGED!

…the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.

    Not by Congress.

    Not by the Courts.

    Not by the President.

Not by State or Local politicians.

    Not by anyone.

    And yet, they still do.

There is no limit on the Second Amendment – it is as simple and absolute as can be – it applies universally.

Similarly the wording of the 3rd through 9th Amendments clearly indicates these are to apply universally, to both the Federal and State governments.

Indeed the 7th contains the words, “in any Court of the United States” to underline this fact. ANY court, federal, state, local, ANY.

But what of the 10th? It clearly does have some application to the states, it says so right in it:

The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people.

Too bad they weren’t a bit more clear about the power of the people because, at the state and local level, we’re losing more and more rights and freedoms all the time.

  • Bob Roberts

(Although one could argue that the words “Congress shall make no law…” could also apply to state legislatures, but I won’t go there.)

    1461 MORE DAYS FOLKS!

We can make it through this, somehow.

    Hopefully, anyway.

  • RobM1981

    1461 more days, indeed…

    …and then what?

We have become so desperate for change that we put Mitt Romney out there as “our guy.”

$4 Gasoline is the new normal… yes it is.

And RINO’s are the new Conservative. I’m not a big fan of Mark Levin, but the quote above is accurate. Conservatives are the enemy of all.

Hell, Ray Lewis says a prayer on national TV and the next morning even his fans are asking if he’s “Tebow’d,” with contempt in their voices.

The America you knew is either dead or in a coma. The America that MLK dreamed about is dead or in a coma. JFK wouldn’t recognize the place, even if he wasn’t high. Reagan would be astounded, even though he himself largely started the Deficit-o-rama (previous admins borrowed, for sure, but Reagan made it “fashionable on a large scale, as long as it’s for a good cause…”)

We *must* let it burn, because the woods are full of nothing but tinder. Let people taste what they have ordered. Demand higher taxes, if that’s what it takes, but demand them for EVERYONE.

“We barely avoided a recession when we dodged the ‘Fiscal Cliff.’”

I know I’m preaching to the choir, but: Really? What magic did we use? Friedman was hardly the first economist to notice that borrowing is just a deferred tax.

True conservatives only have a few leverage points that the public – those useful idiots – agree with. The Deficit is one of them.

Make this a huge issue, but demand “fairness.”

    And fairness means EVERYBODY pays.

Start the fire. Let the porkers get a taste for what they have demanded. Let them feel the pinch in their pocketbooks. Let them understand just how “great” the government is when it comes to spending their money.

You want to understand liberals? Know there deepest, darkest secret?

    Well here it is:

David Attenborough has described mankind as a ‘plague on the Earth’

They see humans as only negative, as something to be controlled and often eliminated, but they aren’t consistent. They’re fine with murdering babies, who are arguably innocent, but against executing vicious capital criminals, who are arguably the few humans who fit their concept of what humans are.

This guy is 86 – if he thinks population is such a problem, what is he sticking around making it worse for?

He’s repeating the same liberal nonsense from “The Population Bomb” and other books by Ehrlich and his ilk, ideas which liberals cannot seem to realize are nonsense no matter how many times they shout them and are subsequently proven wrong.

They’ve made a prediction that we can test in 37 years or so: The Population Matters charity predicts that the global population will boom to 9 billion from its current 7 billion by 2050.

This is really racism: Asia and Africa are expected to see the biggest population rises.

So, naturally, the secret is to keep black and yellow (and perhaps also “brown”) people from reproducing!

Which is why more blacks (and browns) get abortions per capita. That’s part of the dirty little abortion secret – it was pushed as a way to control “undesirable” minorities and, so far, apparently it’s working.

“We” didn’t put Romney out there, though once he was essentially forced on us we evaluated the choice and determined as flawed as he was, he was much better than 4 more years of Bee Oh.

You make some good points – already the faux “conservatives” are talking about suspending the debt limit.

What good is a limit that is just moved every time you approach it?

  • Bob Roberts

Weather explained for those who still think humans cause it.

It’s going to get warmer out west but colder in the east. And humans have nothing to do with it.

With the jet stream blasting straight south out of northern Canada, cold air will continue to flood the eastern two-thirds of the country into Tuesday.

The cold air will probably reach its greatest areal extent Tuesday. Cities as far south as Nashville and Richmond may not make it above freezing all day.

Major Great Lakes cities such as Chicago and Detroit will struggle just to hit the teens Tuesday, and lake-effect snows are likely to continue in favored lake-effect snow belts southeast of all five major lakes.

All cities along the I-95 corridor from Boston to D.C. will see highs in the 20s. Single digits and teens for highs are likely from northern New England to western New York and western Pennsylvania.

Too bad they weren’t a bit more clear about the power of the people because, at the state and local level, we’re losing more and more rights and freedoms all the time.
    Bob
The problem at the Federal level was never with the constitution. After all, it does allow us the opportunity to amend it.
The problem I believe is the framers understood tyranny perfectly well, but never envisioned a system of governance called Marxism, where (formerly) free people can be distracted with cake and ice cream while their liberty was being undermined.
They were convinced tyranny would require lots of bayonets
    http://www.newsrealblog.com/2011/02/20/top-10-parts-of-the-constitution-twisted-or-ignored-by-the-left/
Now, with the power of the Federal government in check would have provided the perfect backdrop to keep the states in check.
That the whole country should look to Obama for everything from healthcare, personal retirement, to regulating that mud puddle in your backyard, and fixing that burned out street light tells us localism is dead, buried and we are already past the point of no return.
The sad part is your state is going from a world class economic powerhouse to third world basket case in a hell of a hurry. And they do it by voting for economic illiterates, while expecting Obama to keep that very same economic gravy train running on time for eternity.
The next decade at least is going to be all about economic “equality” This means everyone is going to get poorer, including government while formerly free people dabble in the occult of collectivism.
I feel really bad for my kids and yours, but I can do little more to save them from themselves.
I believe the Republican party now only serves to prolong the agony. You can’t fix stupid with just a little less stupid.
How can I support a Republican party which only offers Socialism lite to counter Socialism ?
Keynes only began to realize the errors of his theories on his death bed. Yet these same theories are being pushed to new heights of insanity today
The Democrapts are demanding Republicans shed it’s conservative base, so we can be isolated, demonized, and eliminated entirely. That’s where my battle is now.
The Republican party is trying to bully us into “moderating” with them to keep them viable in exchange for protection but more importantly to keep the cash flowing from those big donors.
For the second time now I am being told that Republicans must cave on the debt ceiling (the first was the tax increases) out of a fear of what the media would do to them
The best thing Boehner could do for the country now is step down and take his band of RINO’s with him.
    They offer no alternative anymore.
At some point we must face the fact that if O was gone, he would just be replaced with another tyrant.
All we as freedom lovers can do now is wait for the inevitable pain train which will provide us the next best and (quite possibly) last opportunity to save the country.
    It’s coming.
    Can you hear it ?

It’s amazing how incredibily weak and stupid we are.

    Yes. Line of the day.

But I would put it in even more harsh terms. We are so weak and stupid, there is no way we are today, worthy of the generations that built this country.

We have allowed ourselves to be ruled by a fiscally-ignorant Kenyan who has made his way to the presidency through fraud, affirmative action, a pattern of low-brow racism and criminality. The country celebrates an individual devoted to the destruction of his host country due to an imbecilic obsession for revenge of its imperialism. We willfully allow his destruction to continue unabated.

We have allowed our country to have its population displaced by illegal and otherwise unwanted, useless and parasitic immigrants, without regard for our children, our own well-being or that of future generations.

We have saddled subsequent generations with mountains of unquenchable debt, ($17T and counting), that will doom the majority of them to life-times of stress, humiliation and labor without the prospect of true wealth.

We have allowed liberalism to foment class and racial division that has metastasized to a point where there is a de facto war against whites on the streets, where no citizen can be safe against random mob violence.

We have allowed politicians to take office with their personal ignorance and contempt for the constitution.

We have allowed federal and state government to violate the principles and spirit of the constitution.

We have allowed the most degraded amongst us – the socialists, communists, racists and assorted liberal mongrels – to sit on the highest court of the land.

We allow our own safety and right of defense to have become severely hampered, mitigated and constantly threatened through onerous and irrational gun laws.

We have allowed over-regulation to destroy our ability to become economically viable through the use of our own natural resources, talents and capabilities.

We wallow in entertainment, personality cults, hysteria of the week, sports, food and sexual pursuits.

The poor gravitate to the lowest common denominator of degredations where the tone of those degredations are set by worshiped criminal factions.

We allow more than half of our earnings to be confiscated and then argue in favor of that confiscation as an inevitability.

We trade our capacity to do big science in favor of treats for the “poor”. We will never know much more about the universe than we do now. We have no more block-buster drugs. And few prospects on the way. We cannot figure out that significant amounts of energy cannot be created out of wind and sun because we refuse to understand the principles of energy density. We have once again, allowed ourselves to become hoodwinked by the environmentalists and their perennial global climate disaster scenarios – even though history is replete with the same kinds of fraud; while the available science argues differently. We argue about the fact of evolution.

We’ve allowed the country to lurch into socialism when we know the consequences of it. We vote for free stuff. And then hold our hands out like some beggar in Bangkok. And then wink at each other for it.

    .
Yes. We are weak. And our weakness is grounded in fear.

We can’t fight. We are afraid of being the first one to speak. We are too afraid of losing our jobs, afraid of getting beaten up, afraid of jail, afraid of being called a racist, afraid of being called stupid, afraid of fines, afraid of city government, afraid of the state government, afraid of federal government agencies, afraid of authorities, afraid of the IRS, afraid of losing our homes, afraid of insolvency, afraid of censure, afraid of losing, afraid for our kids, afraid of missing the next football game, afraid of work, afraid of aging, afraid of disease, afraid of being isolated but afraid of our neighbors.

    We are weak and stupid.
    .

And as the weak and stupid inheritors of a country founded by Washington and optimized by Reagan, we are now forced to watch a change of the guard; one ignominiously founded in victimhood, racism and hate, intent on marching us to extinction.

    And they are succeeding.

Have a look at the 2001 – 2009 range and tell me starting a war in the Middle East on fraudulent evidence is a good idea. For you and me, I mean. It’s a REALLY good idea if your friends own oil companies, and you’ve got lots of stock in them.

  • Ghost of FA Hayek

The price spikes the troll weakly dismisses as “Bush’s oil wars” can be attributed to many factors.
First is the acceptance of 2.7 % as the real inflation number
    http://www.americanthinker.com/blog/2012/03/whats_the_real_rate_of_inflation.html
The Middle East has been known to be volatile all on it’s very own (thank you very much)
Also ,his charts miraculously coincide with the introduction of blessedly expensive mandated alternative fuels.
Finally, without speculators, oil prices would be fixed between OPEC and oil companies, or by government price fixing
