GEICO Does Its Part in the War on Guns

If you have been avoiding the aptly named Progressive Insurance because its chairman Peter Lewis is a zillionaire financier of ultra-left causes in the mold of George Soros, don’t turn to GEICO as a countermoonbat alternative. We have already seen how GEICO fired the beloved Gunny for voicing opinions unflattering to the Moonbat Messiah. Now we are told that someone had their car insurance canceled as punishment for making gun parts for a living:

GEICO-cancelation

GEICO is owned by the Obama crony Warren Buffett.

The increasingly moronic commercials are bad enough. This crosses the line.

On a tip from Henry B.

Well, now I have another reason to hate this company besides the commercials, that f’n gekko and Warren.

Anyone who believes in their rights and supports the constitution should switch to a “constitution-friendly” company.
You either support ALL of our constitutional rights or, we’re done with you.

  • Winston Smith

There should be a national boycott of both Progressive and Geico.

I guess now they will cancel the policies of all workers in plants that produce weapons including defense contractors as well as companies that make guns for both civilian, police and military use? They better after knife and baseball bat companies too since those items are used as weapons.

Bankrupt Harrisburg is losing tons of business thanks to Bristish twits that were running a gun show there who banned the display/sale of non political correct guns and products resulting in a boycott by most sponsors and manufacturers. Imagine all the cancelled reservations and money that would have been spent boosting the local economy. Moonbats are always shooting themselves in the foot – pun intended.

  • Zimbabwe? Yes We Can!

Good thing that centralized big government is so great for the economy so firearms industry workers and their contributions won’t be missed.

  • Garpin

Good one Winston, the power of political correctness will wain eventually, until then, it is endurance and vigiance that are the only real tools we have to combat the would-be architects of our future.

  • Garpin

    that should be vigilance… ahem…

  • Son of Taz

Here’s their website. They don’t make anything I can use now but I’d buy something just to show my support.

Calling any enterprising lawyers out there not busy suing McDonalds over hot coffee,
or trying to reinstate frivolous lawsuits on the gun industry ?

This case sure looks like low hanging fruit to me.

  • hiram

Going to a local gun show today… I’ll report back later :)

  • Bill

A reason not to buy GEICO.

In the event you didn’t believe all this “created” hysteria and fear about so-called “assault weapons” was simply laying the ground work for a major assault by the far-left on the 2nd Amendment, here’s the proof. Can you say, slippery slope? And this is just the beginning.

Cancelled Geico a long time ago. They were charging me for one car insurance larger amount than I am now paying in insurance with a different company for two cars.

So if you are with them right now, just look around, you will likely save a huge amount going with someone else.

UnGeico a quick call can save you 50% or more on car insurance.

P.S.: was with Progressive in the past also. They folded their hands when my vehicle was hit and totaled, and refused to help me in any way to deal with the other insurance company. At times it seemed like they wanted to protect the guilty party. How progressive.

The Dick Act of 1902 cannot be repealed; to do so would violate bills of attainder and ex post facto laws which would be yet another gross violation of the U.S. Constitution and the Bill of Rights. The President of the United States has zero authority without violating the Constitution to call the National Guard to serve outside of their State borders.

They should have used a better Sharpie, the blacked out information is clearly visible by adjusting brightness & contrast in photoshop.

OK friends I need help finding an insurance company that respects OUR CONSTITUTION!!!!!!

  • apostle53

    Nationwide

  • Drury

    G-overnment
    E-mployees
    I-nsurance
    CO-mpany

It’s all I ever needed to know to avoid this company like the plague. After all, when purchasing insurance, you want to be pooled with responsible people who do their best to avoid accidents and are careful in their activities; characteristics the vast majority of government employee leeches lack.

  • IslandLifer

Damn it now I need new policies. You asshole companies are WEAK and putting a cramp in my style.

Isn’t that discrimination? As in: against the Law?

  • Fred

Yep, if anyone can recommend an insurance company that meets or exceeds GEICO’s prices AND does not hate the 2nd Amendment, I would appreciate knowing as well…

    Thanks!
    Fred

A very simple solution for a nation of simple-minded sheep.

    BOYCOTT!!!

This is an interesting opinion piece about this very letter noted above…

As a licensed agent, I can tell you that the reason for the cancellation (used in conjuction with a company in the weapons industry), is illegal. Geico can cancel the policy for a substantial increase in risk, if the vehicle is used for business purposes, but that is not what they stated here.

A well written complaint to the state insurance comissioner should get this overturned and get GEICO fined. I hope that happens.

  • Crazy Dad

Just spoke to GEICO — I was more than happy to do a war dance on their heads, cancel my policy, etc. even though they really have been great to me for years. (And, I’m in NJ) I was told that the issue centered on some confusion re: individual vs. commercial use, that it has been clarified, and the person is now still a GEICO customer. If this is accurate — let’s get rid of this thread. If it is not — let’s break out the spears and axes ’cause it’s time to storm the castle.

  • Mr. Rational

I’ve been a customer of Liberty Mutual for almost 2 years and I’m a fan.

  • Jack

I was under the perception that it was PROGRESSIVE that was the issue…

    True story about Geico.

Years ago, when I was a lad about to turn 25, I had geico insurance. In the state I lived in, rated dropped dramatically at 25. I went to my agent and asked about a discount; my premium was due about a week before my birthday. She told me she could do nothing and I would have to pay the full amount for the next 6 months. I would be eligible for the 25+ discount during the next billing period.
Fair enough. I went to State Farm for a competing quote and explained my situation. They told me Geico was ripping me off and were more than happy to pro rate my claim for the period after my 25th birthday.
I went back to Geico and told them I wanted to cancel for reasons explained above. The agent told me she had made a mistake a could pro rate the policy; the lying cunt. I cancelled and got State Farm. I got USAA once they opened to enlisted, but State Farm was a good company.
TLDR; Geico are a bunch of asshole con artists.

    ________________

YOu cannot discriminate for a number of reasons, such as race, sex, religion, sexual orientation, etc. Other than that, companies can and do discriminate for any of a number of reasons.

Vote with your dollars. 45 years ago, the “Good Hands” people screwed my family. I still won’t deal with them.

The other thing to keep in mind is that all that advertising by Geico isn’t free. Somebody has to pay for the gecko.

What next, canceling insurance for people that sell 32 oz. sodas or Whoppers?

At least the man is working for a living. Obama prefers people who are dependent on the government and are very compliant.
