Texas Schoolchildren Taught to Design Communist Flags

At least government schools are preparing children for the future by nurturing skills that will please their bureaucrat masters in the degenerating USSA. A sixth grade assignment from Texas:

Notice socialist/communist nations use symbolism on their flags representing various aspects of their economic system. Imagine a new socialist nation is creating a flag and you have been put in a [sic] charge of creating a flag. Use symbolism to represent aspects of socialism/communism on your flag. What kind of symbolism/colors would you use?

Considering that this assignment was a product of CSCOPE, described as “the prelude to having the Obama Common Core Standards in our schools,” here’s a design sure to win a gold star:

obama_american_flag

This story is from Austin, unsurprisingly, but the rot doesn’t stop there; nor is the flag assignment a fluke:

Members of the Senate Education Committee [last] Thursday grilled the creators of a curriculum system used across Texas that critics say promotes anti-American values and stifles classroom flexibility.

Committee Chairman Dan Patrick, R-Houston, called it “a mess.” One witness compared the system to “mind control,” and an algebra teacher wept as he described quitting because he felt he was “aiding and abetting a crime” by using CSCOPE in his classroom.

CSCOPE is an electronic curriculum management system that offers Web-based lesson plans and exams designed to help teachers adhere to state education requirements. It is used in 875 school districts — more than 70 percent of districts statewide…

A string of witnesses before the Senate Education Committee criticized the program for promoting liberal values they said are anti-Christian at best and openly socialist at worst.

Some lessons promote Islam; another describes participants in the Boston Tea Party as terrorists. This is what we can expect of government indoctrination education in Hopey Changey fundamentally transformed America.

On a tip from Byron.

Yeah… we wouldn’t want kids to “think”, or anything.

Nope. The answer to every question is ‘Jesus is magic’.

    And America is perfect.

And the very idea of socialism is eeeeevil to the point that even thinking about it in a school setting is unacceptable (this despite the overwhelming popularity of the NFL – a true socialist organization in the literal definition of he word)…

Boycott the NFL and decry its socialism. And, home school your kids. They won’t ever actually get a job, or anything, (i have encountered zero instances of a real-world job where the answer to anything at all was ‘Jesus is magic’) but at least they won’t be exposed to ‘thinking’.

What has happened to the people of Mexas that they would allow their children and their country to be abused this way?

that is to say ,diciple the young with their progressive ideologies

If the kids were taught history they would make flags with starving people
and piled up dead bodies, thats for starters.

  • VoiceOfReason

If understanding symbolism is indoctrination, teaching somebody what the Christian Cross means is missionary work.

“Yeah… we wouldn’t want kids to “think”, or anything.”

The program in question, you ignorant dumb fuck, is one that’s been roundly critisised precisely for stifling flexibility in teaching and aggressively pushing ideology onto kids.

“Nope. The answer to every question is ‘Jesus is magic’.”

Strawman fallacy (look it up) that nobody but you suggested. And an especially retarded one at that.

    “And America is perfect.”

Congratulations, you’ve just vanquished another strawman of your own creation. You’re doing so well!

“And the very idea of socialism is eeeeevil to the point that even thinking about it in a school setting is unacceptable”

No, fuckwit. An organisation that’s openly pushing leftist ideology in schools is what’s unacceptable.

“(this despite the overwhelming popularity of the NFL – a true socialist organization in the literal definition of he word)”

What… the fuck? Seriously, kid what the fuck is the matter with you? In future, look up some literal definitions of socialism before making such an utter fucking arse out of yourself, you poor, hapless sap.

“Boycott the NFL and decry its socialism.”

    Whatever, kid.

“And, home school your kids. They won’t ever actually get a job, or anything”

Kid, you got you assed battered on this point numerous times before: all evidence points to homeschoolers getting better grades and being more emotionally balanced than their publically schooled peers.

“i have encountered zero instances of a real-world job”

I think we all guessed that. Well, it would get in the way of playing WOW and wanking over Japanese tentacle porn all day long.

“but at least they won’t be exposed to ‘thinking’.”

It would be a tragedy if they didn’t end up with the impeccable logic processing abilities and outstanding debating skills you’ve routinely displayed over the years.

Actually the Pledge of Allegiance was written by a Christian Socialist, Francis Bellamy. It is true that he wrote it in the hopes of selling more flags to schools (capitalism hadn’t been bred out of the system yet). He and his cousin Edward Bellamy started a chain of clubs called initially “Bellamy Clubs.” Soon enough, the name was changed to Nationalist Clubs. The Nationalist Clubs were quite popular until the early 1940′s as was the Bellamy salute.

BTW, socialism killed about 170 million people during the 20th century. So, yes; let’s teach some more about socialism.

Sadly…there are MANY moonbats in Texas…especially Austin.
In the late 1800′s some of my family and relatives here in Texas were democrats…to day they would be considered right wing extremists.

A lib once complained to me about a perceived lack of objectivity in the classroom while covering Carl Marx/Socialism.
He explained that kids need to be exposed to these idea’s in order to make informed decisions in the future.
I replied that I completely agree.

Classroom curriculum should be revised to include examples of Marxism in practice, the jailed Cuban dissidents, the death camps of North Korea, the Holodomor, and including the latest casualty figures attributed to Communism, both directly, and indirectly through starvation/poverty

Now, in the interests of being “objective”, what would you like to add ?

CONTROLLING THE MINDS OF OUR YOUTH

This is what the pinko progressive Alinskyites have been up to, when you hear they have been quietly working behind the scenes for a couple of decades to co-opt academia.

This is the opening statement in the hyperlinked article below:

“Three years after the Department of Education announced a contest called Race-to-the-Top for $4.35 billion in stimulus funds, some parents, teachers, governors, and citizen and public policy groups are coming to an awful realization about the likely outcomes:

…..A national curriculum called Common Core

…..Regionalism, or the replacement of local governments by federally appointed bureaucrats

…..A leveling of all schools to one, low national standard, and a redistribution of education funds among school districts

…..An effective federal tracking of all students

…..The loss of the option of avoiding the national curriculum and tests through private and home school

Working behind the scenes, implementing these policies and writing the standards are associates from President Obama’s community organizing days. In de facto control of the education component is Linda Darling-Hammond, a radical left-wing educator and close colleague of William “Bill” Ayers, the former leader of the communist terrorist Weather Underground who became a professor of education and friend of Obama’s.”

    Guys…

I know none of you are all too bright, but what do you call it when the largest market teams – NY, Chicago, etc – have their revenue “shared” with the small-market teams in search of – and this is the direct, exact quote from the NFL – “parity”?

It is quite literall a redistribution of wealth from those with more to those with less. And – see if you can follow me, here – it works. there is parity in the league.

    The exact, literal definition.

You don’t get the parallels. Color me shocked.

  • Bo-Jangles

Communists always believe they are smarter than everyone else, and can always rationalize their ideology, or so they think, even though it always fails.

  • a rose by any other

    And damnitall…

“An organisation that’s openly pushing leftist ideology in schools is what’s unacceptable.”

Where – anywhere – in the above text does it “push leftist idealogy”??? Stating that socialist places use images on flags is somehow… insidious? Asking kids what they think is… bad?

Are you actually whimsically, dangerously insane… or are you just playing the retard for trolling’s sake?

  • DJ
  • Smorfia48

    Anonyweenie.

I know you utterly humiliate yourself with your tragic cluelessness each and every time you ever post anything, but the literal definition of socialism is the collective ownership of the means of production. In other words, nothing at all like the NFL.

And there is no redistribution of wealth between teams, “quite literall(sic)” or otherwise. They get an even share of TV revenue.

Oh, and if you’re wondering where the Clueless Wonder picked up his latest spasm of autohumiliation; it’s from a rant from Bill Maher.

Need any more reasons to support HOME SCHOOLING and stop the leftists NEA from brainwashing the kids with this marxists crap? BURN A COMMUNISTS FLAG IN FRONT OF THE SCHOOL AND THE TEACHERS HOME

  • a rose by any other

Smorfia48 – You think that Kansas City earns an equal share of the TV revenue when compared to NYC or Chicago?

    Really???

Yep. Not redistributing anything. You are soooo very clever.

And damnitall… One last time – how exactly does noting that socialist countries place images on flags and asking kids to think equate with “pushing leftist ideology”???

Honestly. You know how incredibly insane you sound?

  • Ghost of FA Hayek

    Troll
The very essence of capitalism is those agreements between cooperating parties to advance their own personal interests.

It is in the interests of NYC and Chicago, plus all the other teams to insure the sport remains viable.

Socialism, on the other hand is when government robs them all of their earnings at gunpoint, and hands it to the vagrant on the street in exchange for his vote.

  • a rose by any other

NYC and Chicago earn more viewer eyeballs, and therefore earn more of the revenue. Virginia McCaskey would get MORE $ if she were playing every-man-for-himself capitalism. Which is NOT what happens.

    Therefore… not capitalist.

You don’t get it. I am Jack’s profound sense of shock.

You still haven’t found anyone who can explain why it isn’t batshit insane to proclaim that noting that socialist countries place images on flags and asking kids to think equals “pushing leftist ideology”.

Insanity. Like actual, tinfoil hat insanity.

  • Ghost of FA Hayek

People cooperating freely to advance their own personal interests = my definition of Capitalism.

every-man-for-himself = your definition of Capitalism.

I said NFL teams (both large and small) would VOLUNTARILY enter into agreements to advance their own interests.
You suggest they would rather watch their entire industry collapse to insure THE OTHER TEAM is bankrupted out of spite.
As for Virginia McCaskey, it appears she may be taking your financial advise.
