Erasing History in Memphis

Paging Winston Smith. Your services are required in Memphis, where politically incorrect historical figures are getting purged from public awareness:

The Memphis City Council on Monday voted to change the name of the city’s Confederate Park [and] two other parks that honor notable members of the Confederacy. reports that the council voted 9-0 to pass a resolution renaming Confederate Park and Jefferson Davis Park, located in downtown Memphis and Nathan Bedford Forrest Park, which is located a few miles away.

Forrest Park … features a large statue of the Confederate lieutenant general, who won several key Civil War battles.

Good thing KKK kleagle Robert Byrd was a prominent modern Democrat. Otherwise, think of all the buildings constructed with the pork he brought home that would need to be renamed. The same goes for buildings named after Lyndon “I’ll Have Those N*ggers Voting Democrat for the Next 200 Years” Johnson.

Eventually Jefferson Davis will be completely erased.

On tips from Clingtomyguns.

If only Mr. Davis & Lt. Forrest had been more generous

Here are a few suggestions for new park names:

    Mugabe Park

One Death is a Tragedy, A Million Deaths a Statistic Park

    Chimp Out Central Park

  • Bee

Meanwhile, way out west, you can still travel the “Jefferson Davis Highway” when you cross into British Columbia from Blaine, WA.

The top 5 popular names that may be used

    2. Gibs me gulch
    3. entitlement park
    4. Kill whitey park
    5.Hip hop world park

The Confederacy was brought to the world by the same people who brought us the Democratic Party

“We’ll have them n*ggers voting Democrat for the next two hunnerd years.” LBJ, as overheard by a black White House steward/waiter.

  • Spider

You’re right Tax, but they were “very” different Demoncrats back then. And i do believe LBJ made that statement, since he was a racist at heart. (black workers on his ranch) Ironically, todays blacks are a result of the things he did. I’ve always said they shot the wrong guy in Dallas that day.

What i find truly amazing is how southerners allow these kinds of things to happen. Apparently, the generations that truly cared about the South, and America, are all gone. Destroying the South, and everything it stood for, has been a long-held goal of northern leftists, and one they apparently have not yet forgotten.

Nathan Bedford Forrest was one of the finest natural generals ever produced by the United States. He as also a racist asshole, but that was the time and place.

Humans are generally a mix of good and bad. Deal with it.

Remember, what is called racism today, was the law of the land back then. And there are many who believe, especially looking at todays society, that some of those laws weren’t bad.

Do you recall ever reading about violent flash mobs in your history books?

Is teaching an entire race of people to damend everything, while earning nothing, really helping them?

Do you help people by depriving them of their self-respect, self-worth, self-esteem, ambition, and sense of responsibility?

Was southern slavery worse than todays slavery which addicts people to “free” govt. handouts, (and keeps them addicted) simply for their political support?

What is so “racist” about opposing the MILITARY OCCUPATION of your homeland?

Or being the first (and founding) Kleagle in the KKK?

  • Gang,
Remember the Stars and Bars was the true American Flag.
We were a colony of the once Great Britan when Betsy allgedly sewed up the Stars and Stripes.
Also Ol Jeff there was the only sitting American President who was on a postage stamp.
Reality being what it is,and math being what it is,
barry is the 45th American President.
(hard as that is to say).

Jefferson Davis was a Democrat too, so I’m not sure what your point is.

There were three klans organised in three DIFFRENT eras; the origonal bore NO RELATION to the two in the twentieth century. Then there was the copy-cat “black legion” that appiered in the NORTH in the 1930s. The Humphry Bogart movie was not about the kkk, there really was a “black legion”.

Davis was president of the CSA, not the USA. They were two diffrent countrys.

The pre-war Democrat party was for OBEYING the Constitution, the pre-war Republican party was for NEW ENGLAND and VIOLATING the Constitution.

The Post-war south was the prodoct of OCCUPATION, IMPOSED POVERTY and HATE PROPAGANDA.

    Study history.

Mojo you don’t need to demonstrate your ignorance. Its clear to everyone here. Are you on the city council?

By the way Memphis is a cesspool, one of the most violent and crime ridden cities in the USA. I guess they want to be the new Detroit.

Maybe they can name a park after Wright, Jackson and Sharpton.

  • Ummah Gummah

George Michael Park, Eddie Murphy Park.

True enough. We were a nation divided.
Good shock value for the low information types though.
    Still, “Confederate States of America”.
Ya dont hear Mexican states of America, or Argentinian provinces of America. Were the only ones.
    God, I love America!

    A reminder:

History is written by the winners.

Civil war was kinda a long time ago, folks. You lost; we get to write the history. That’s how history works. (And damn, the fact that there is still a “you” in that sentence to have lost is at least a little embarrassing, isn’t it? How long are you people going to pretend ‘The South’ as a political entity is still a thing?)

We should remember the American Civil War because it’s part of history but building statues in tribute of people like Jefferson Davis doesn’t seem like the proper way to do remembrance to me. To say the least.
