    Moonbats and their lies:

Pelosi: ‘ALMOST a false argument’ to say US has spending problem

And her statement, as stated, is ALMOST false. Note she does admit that we have a spending problem. Read what she said carefully if you don’t get this. If it is almost a false argument that means it really is a true argument. Even she has to give herself cover in a way that will baffle her low-information constituency.

“It is almost a false argument to say we have a spending problem. We have a budget deficit problem that we have to address,” she told Fox News’s Chris Wallace on Sunday.

And our budget deficit was CAUSED BY OVERSPENDING, WHICH WE ARE STILL DOING, HENCE we have a spending problem.

An Interior Department official appointed by President Obama to oversee U.S. territories including Guam, American Samoa and the Northern Mariana Islands resigned last week amid an investigation into travel and grants handled by his office.

According to Kuam News, the Office of the Inspector General was reviewing Assistant Secretary Tony Babauta’s conduct and interviewing the recipients of grants from his office. The Guam-based media outlet also reported that Babauta had been placed on administrative leave prior to his resignation.

He was just following Obama’s lead and doing a little “wealth redistribution”.

Federal employees get their comeuppance and are showing signs of buyer’s remorse.

The White House told labor leaders of a proposed !% increase for federal employees in the 2014 fiscal year budget in a phone call late Friday night. That raise would come on top of the half-point pay hike, scheduled to take effect in late March, which has been delayed as part of the “fiscal cliff” deal struck last month. Federal salaries have been frozen since 2011.

Oh, and the supposed “pay freeze”? They still got raises for promotion and in-grade increases (apparently due to time served) so there never really was any “pay freeze”.

Shouldn’t have voted for Obama and the Democrats. Got what they deserved.

DON CHERRY, Canadian Hockey Commentator for CBC Television, was asked on a local live radio talk show, what he thought about the allegations of torture of suspected terrorists. His reply prompted his ejection from the studio, but to thunderous applause from the audience.

    HIS STATEMENT:
“If hooking up one rag head terrorist prisoner’s testicles to a car battery to get the truth out of the lying little camelshagger will save just one Canadian life or American, then I have only three things to say:
‘Red is positive, black is negative, and make sure his nuts are wet.”

Yes but most (not all) soi-disant “conservatives” beleive a Republican mayor can fix all that. They assume untameable or semi-tamed negroes are soley the result of misplaced liberal policies. Why do they beleive that it’s liberal policies that caused the savage jungle that Detroit devolved down to? Answer: PC mouthpieces such as Rush Limbaugh and Sean Hannity told them so.

BTW, that story that Mary linked to is a fluffy puff piece really; that is compared to the other more serious crime that’s rampant in the D.

For a little more in depth, this Heritage piece points to the broken family unit as the culprit.

welfare today is a destructive Faustian bargain between all potential mothers and the government. As the condition for receiving cash — as opposed to real community support — the system requires that women and girls abandon the traditional moral code. Explains Heritage Foundation Senior Policy Analyst Robert Rector: “The woman has a contract with the government: She will continue to receive her ‘paycheck’ as long as she fulfills two conditions: 1) She must not work; and 2) She must not marry an employed male.”

As a side note, one local public school here still hosts an annual father/daughter dance.
And every year, the aria libs rattle their cages, calling the event everything from bigoted, racist, homophobic, misogynist, ect, ect
A local church leader in an op ed a couple of years back addressed this claim that the dance is not inclusive.
He specifically addressed atheists who claimed in an earlier op ed that the traditional family structure is a human construct and should be subject to change.
He wrote the creation of every daughter requires a father. This is god’s will.
If and when you can change this fact, please inform us so we can remain inclusive.

    Ghost,

The problem in a nutshell is the overarching liberal/egalitarian assumption that assumes white middle class solutions can be a successful remedy when applied to black underclass social problems.

Egalitarians aren’t about to abandoned their utopian delusions so we’ll continue like lemmings down this road until the black undertow drags the entire system — along with the rest of us — down the drain with it.

Senator Daniel Patrick Moynahan(sp?) warned of this back in the 1960s. Of course he was called a racist for his legitimate concerns.

white middle class solutions can be a successful remedy when applied to black underclass social problems.
    DJ
“Middle classness” was always supposed to be an achievement.
It’s the left that claims to be able to grant this status through “redistribution” (the welfare system)
But in reality the only way they can accomplish this is by dragging everybody to the bottom.
This is what is happening today. This is what the welfare system does.
    http://usatoday30.usatoday.com/money/story/2012-08-22/lost-decade-middle-class-pew-study/57206476/1
Moynihan’s legacy is one of mixed reviews.
Early on in his career, he correctly identified a broken family unit, exacerbated by the welfare system as a cause, and how rising employment in the inner cities had no effect on reducing welfare.
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?NR=1&v=hPxkJZsz4Kc&feature=endscreen
Yet his vigorous opposition to these long overdue reforms which finally arrived in 1996 and lockstep alignment with the left suggest he realized how effective buying votes could be.

In other words, political power to the leftist trumps societal well being.

Too bad our President can’t make a similar admission he’s just not up to the job requirements.

    POPE BENEDICT RESIGNS!

The Pope is to become the first since 1415 to step down as leader of the Catholic Church. The Pope is to become the first since 1415 to step down as leader of the Catholic Church.

The Pope’s brother, Georg Ratzinger, said the Pontiff had been advised by his doctor not to take transatlantic trips for health reasons – and that he had been considering resigning for months.

He said his brother was having increasing difficulty walking and that his resignation was part of a “natural process”.

“His age is weighing on him,” the 89-year-old said of his 85-year-old brother. “At this age my brother wants more rest.”

Latest from Obama: Job of debt reduction nearly done!

“Over the last few years, Democrats and Republicans have come together and cut our deficit [over the next decade] by more than $2.5 trillion through a balanced mix of spending cuts and higher tax rates for the wealthiest Americans. That’s more than halfway towards the $4 trillion in deficit reduction that economists and elected officials from both parties say we need to stabilize our debt,” Obama said during his weekend radio address.

WE DO NOT NEED TO “STABILIZE” OUR DEBT! We need to drastically reduce/eliminate it!

By the administration’s math, Washington needs to enact only another $1.5 trillion in 10-year savings to hit the $4 trillion target, White House economic adviser Jason Furman told reporters last week. At $1.2 trillion, the automatic cuts, known as the sequester, quite nearly fit the bill.

The problem with this scenario? It would indeed stabilize the national debt, compared with the broader economy, for the next 10 years. But the debt would fluctuate between 73 percent and 77 percent of gross domestic product, according to new projections by the nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office — the highest level in U.S. history except for the period after World War II.

It’s also much higher than the 62 percent target policymakers were aiming for just 3 years ago when Obama appointed the Bowles-Simpson debt-reduction commission. And because policymakers have avoided reforms to the big health and retirement programs, the debt would start rising again after 2023, as the baby boom generation retires.

Someone is not in touch with reali-tah!

    Total public debt outstanding: $16,487,564,297,892.03

The interest on this amount alone is staggering.

NO SURPRISE: As predicted, states are realizing they lack enough doctors to comply with obamacare.

As the state moves to expand healthcare coverage to millions of Californians under President Obama’s healthcare law, it faces a major obstacle: There aren’t enough doctors to treat a crush of newly insured patients.

Some lawmakers want to fill the gap by redefining who can provide healthcare.

Doctors say giving non-physicians more authority and autonomy could jeopardize patient safety. It could also drive up costs, because those workers, who have less medical education and training, tend to order more tests and prescribe more antibiotics, they said.

Iranians on revolution day chant ‘death to America’

    Some things never change.

Hundreds of thousands of people marched on Sunday in Tehran and other cities chanting “Death to America” as Iran marked the 34th anniversary of the Islamic revolution that ousted the U.S.-backed shah.

Mosquito-Fighting Plan Allows Access To Private Property With No Warrant

With West Nile season approaching soon, there’s a controversial bill in the state legislature that would give the government more power to kill mosquitoes.

Texas State Senate Bill 186 would allow authorities to legally trespass on private property without a warrant to treat stagnant water.

The U.S. armed services, widely recognized as the world’s most ready and mobile military, is painting a picture of itself as a stagnant force trapped at home under automatic spending cuts just three weeks away.

Army brigades won’t be ready to fight. Navy aircraft carriers won’t be deployed. The Air Force won’t be able to operate radar surveillance 24 hours a day.
The dire scenarios are contained in a series of memos sent to Congress and obtained by The Washington Times. They stir memories of the late 1970s, when the Army declared itself a “hollow force” because depleted combat units could not perform in a war.

    Ghost,

Moynihan obviously knew the propensities and proclivities of blacks very well. He knew given the choice between working a crappy low paying job or going on government assistance a large segment of blacks would choose the latter than the former. He knew blacks, for the most part, are relatively comfortable living in poverty — poverty American style that is. Furthermorre, they don’t regard living in “poverty” via government assistance attaches itself to a social stigma; in fact they have developed a strong entitlement mentality. Today’s blacks know nothing but the entitlement mentality. Of course we both already know this.

    So what’s the solution?

Well, we can start with the principle of “judging a man by his charactor rather than by the color of his skin.”

Take the academic achievement gap for example. My plan would be to give an IQ test to all the students at their particular schools. Let’s say school A’s students has a mean IQ of 105. Now let’s say school B’s students have a mean IQ of 82 and school C’s has a mean IQ 98.

Is it objective to think school B’s students will perform at the same level as school C or A’s students? Of course not. But the egalitarians refuse to use IQ as an objective criteria in assessing outcomes. Now add race into the mix and the problem of sorting people out and steering them into their proper place in the work-world becomes impossible.

Don’t get me wrong, I’m all for equal opportunity, what I’m against is equal outcomes based on racial and gender quotas.

I think it should be a requirement that all first year college students read The Bell Curve and Atlas Shrugged. But alas the Marxist echo chambers we call Colleges see ‘The Bell Curve’ as a work of the Devil. I see it a common sence. Something every average 10 year intuitively understands. But I digress….
