A Kick in the Pants of Patriarchy
A feminist heroine has kicked a hole in pro football’s oppressive sex barrier:
Laura Silberman called it a day after completing only two kicks in an under par performance in the NFL regional scouting combine at the New York Jets practice field on Sunday.
Standing at the 35-yard line Laura Silberman’s first kick made only 19 yards while the second try was even more dismal, going only 14 yards. Laura Silberman winced at the second kickoff, calling for a trainer, who reportedly examined a re-aggravated quadriceps injury. Remaining on the sidelines, Laura Silberman watched the other 36 kickers try out.
Half an hour later, she undertook a 3 minute interview, describing her historical tryout as the first female at compete at the NFL regional scouting combine as “surreal” experience, while thanking the NFL for the “tremendous opportunity.”
Prior to the tryout in front of scouting teams, Laura Silber didn’t even participate in warmup kicks and struggled to keep the ball on the kicking tee.
That didn’t turn out so well. But Laura isn’t giving up.
”I would certainly be very, very excited and happy if I had the opportunity to try again,” said Laura Silbermans, ”but it’s not up to me. It’s up to the scouts.”
Let’s hope it’s up to scouts. It might be up to federal bureaucrats. The same authoritarian lunacy that gave us Title IX could put Laura on the Jets regardless of inability. After all, libs will argue, is she really a worse kicker than Mark Sanchez is a quarterback? It is a political fact that the sexes are completely equal in every way.

On a tip from Matt L.

It is not fair that this poor woman isn’t able to kick as far as her male counterparts. She should be given an extra 30 yards as make-up for the oppressive, male-dominated NFL.
This should give new meaning to the term “moving the goal posts.”
That picture is just plain gold.
The Today Show had some piece on her over the weekend, saying how brave she was, breaking down bariers, blah blah blah. Typical moonbat propaganda from our media masters. I despise them.
Rosa Parks of the NFL? No, more like the Sandra Fluke of the NFL.
For years I’ve wondered why so many hardcore leftwingnuts I know are football fans. Now I know.
We knew that she would fail, she made an ass out of herself and the scouts who allowed her to do it. She ain’t no Rosa Parks, she’s an attention whore.
Warming up? Why? All she needs is to go for tough talk in the interview and pose for a picture. With some luck she’ll be hailed as a “historic” player. The media ignored Hussein’s record, they can do it again for a cute story.
Also, 19 and 14 yards? I’m pretty sure I beat that when playing with my nephews in october and I’m in my fifties.
It’s not that she was able to try out, it’s that she should not have been there in the first place.

This is simply NFL marketing 101
It appears the Feminazi movement voluntarily took two steps back.
Comrades we’ll need to change that evil war like football sport so all glorious citizens of the best banana republic money can buy will be able to play.
No women’s tee?
Just wait, it’s coming
C’mon now guys, she’s just trying to fight the war on women by breaking the NFL glass ceiling.
End the Patriarchy! What do want? Concussions! Head trauma! When do we want it? NOW!
Carry on new age woman. Us normal womern thank you for this bit of comedy gold.
Elizabeth
I always figured women liked football because of it’s bone crushing carnage.
I hope the libtards force the NFL to let her start. Then the low information voter can have a weekly dose of reality.
As one comment on a previous story pointed out: it must be her “ball handling skills in the locker room” that got her this far.
The dumb broad demanded a participation trophy.
She should put some ice on that.
If some imperial judge orders thge team to start ecepting women then the judge should be ruled for ILLEGAL INTERFERENCE and ROUGHING the PASSER
I would imagine that their has to be some snarling, knuckle dragging, tattooed, bone thru nose feminist. That could have kicked that ball 65yds if necessary out there somewhere.
Besides, the free market will sort it out. Go ahead, have her join the NFL. Either she will be picked by a team for the PR purpose (and nothing else but posing for pictures) or no one will ever consider her.
14 and 19 yards??? WTF Forty years ago in the prime I was at my brother-in-laws house and the kids were on the other side of the house. Kicking it over the house, two story with attic was fun, one kid would run it back and so forth.. Next day I couldn’t get out of bed, but it was fun..
I believe she was told that she would have to kick 60 yard goals to make the team…so she gave it a try and apparently injured herself. I hate to see an athlete in pain after having given their all…but you have to play smart as well as hard…a lesson for us all.
LOL. And why not women in the NFL? If they can go into combat, surely football would be a cake walk. (yes, I am joking)
When will the MSM demand that the NFL let a transgendered freakazoid, the Iranian space chimp and Air Bud tryout in the combine?
What about a giraffe playing in the NBA … now there’s a good story, but the MSM would avoid it because it might put some tatted-up black males out of a job.
it was nothing but a PR stunt orchestrated by the media to help her private business.
I am so glad im at the age i am and that my health isnt that great. Who the f$&k wants to watch America be over ran by a bunch of skirt wearing bitch boys and women you pass for Football players. Liberal thought is a cancer. And the only way to rid this country of it is to eradicate it by ANY MEANS NECESSARY.
She wouldn’t be fit to tie George Blanda’ shoes. Even into his 40′s. This attention whore needs to make me a sammich and shut her pie-hole.

Well I’m not joking, there are some things women can do and there’s some things women can’t do. Women aren’t built to play football or to be in a foxhole and carry all the equipment as well. Hell, there’s some men who aren’t built for either one as well! Call me old fashioned, but to watch women do what husky muscular men do makes be cringe, they simply can’t do it. I am a woman saying this because it’s true.
“The Rosa Parks of the NFL”
Ahahahahahahaha! Possibly the funniest line of the year, Dave.
And just like Rosa, this broad is a complete phony. She has opened the gaits for other “try outs” to come.
However, having abandoned the negro football league years ago, I hope she succeeds in helping to complete the transition from a great game, to a sloppily played thug fest. Girl players would be too great for words. Imagine the raping and beating in the locker rooms?
Make it happen, girls!
….I saw this one a mile away. NO WAY is that woman built for a kicker. She’s too fat in the legs and in the ass to be a good kicker. And she’s too short.
This was nothing but a propoganda ploy.
Rosa Parks like Martin Luthor King Jr was COMMUNISTS AGENTS
I think it’s time for boys and men to start trying out for all woman organizations. When they refuse, sue the hell out of them.
Geez …. this story just makes me cringe on so many levels. Funny tho …..
Miss Silberman was nowhere near as uppity as rosa parks.
.
At least she can say she kicks it farther than the wonderboy can throw it.
.
A silly stunt by a silly c**t.
Maybe this one didn’t succeed, but another one like her, perhaps a transgender or two, and pretty soon the NFL will be required to have separate locker rooms and rest rooms for women.
Women should feel free to TRY to participate in any sport, so long as “special arrangements” are not made for them to do so. If you are not up to the standards, then you’re not competitive…just like any guy that’s not competitive.
An example of how to do it right, is Danica Patrick. Driving an Indycar requires physical training similar to that of an Olympic athlete. Danica did so successfully. Now she is in NASCAR, which is even more of an old boys club than Indycar, and obviously, recent results demonstrate she has met the standards.
No problem with women competing, so long as we don’t start watering down the standards.
