The mendacious charade of Obama’s sequester — by which the explosive rate of government growth is being slowed slightly and temporarily as part of a propaganda offensive against Republicans — has reached the point of outright farce:
In its bid to make the sequester as painful as possible, the White House announced Tuesday that it is canceling all visitor tours of the White House “during the popular Spring touring season.” This fits President Obama’s political strategy to punish the eighth graders visiting from Illinois instead of, say, the employees of the Agriculture Department who will attend a California conference sipping “exceptional local wines” and sampling “tasty dishes” prepared by “special guest chefs.” …
The event will feature USDA speakers, field trips, a banquet and a tasting reception, according to the conference website. Conference organizers promise the tasting will be a “mouthwatering event” featuring “fine wines and exceptional micro-brews paired with seasonally driven culinary delicacies.”
Being part of the ruling nomenklatura has its pricey perks, even as the little folks are forced to do without.
The allegedly penniless government, which had to cancel White House tours ostensibly because it cannot afford to pay the volunteers who conduct them for free anyway, is also spending $400,000 on oil paintings of obscure officials. There has been no need to forego the services of the White House calligrapher, who is paid $96,725 per year.

A leaked email confirms that the Obama Regime has been deliberately attempting to inflict misery that it can blame on the sequester:
In the internal email, Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service official Charles Brown said he asked if he could try to spread out the sequester cuts in his region to minimize the impact, and he said he was told not to do anything that would lessen the dire impacts Congress had been warned of.
“We have gone on record with a notification to Congress and whoever else that ‘APHIS would eliminate assistance to producers in 24 states in managing wildlife damage to the aquaculture industry, unless they provide funding to cover the costs.’ So it is our opinion that however you manage that reduction, you need to make sure you are not contradicting what we said the impact would be,” Mr. Brown, in the internal email, said his superiors told him.
If the Regime would inflict damage on wildlife and “aquaculture” to advance the Sequester as Armageddon campaign, imagine what it would do to you.
Obama’s genius as a politician is that no one else in such a prominent position ever held the American people in such total contempt — a contempt that in 2012 proved to be largely warranted. But by letting everyone know that he thinks we are dumb enough to buy into his absurd sequester charade, he might be overplaying his own cynical hand. It could not possibly be more obvious that he is not governing in good faith.

As of last November, there were 58,400. That would be $856 per uniform to re-clothe all of them. Kinda pricey, ‘specially with the See-kwester and all…

Let’s review how we got here.
(1) Obama passes the stimulus $870 billion over two years, say that it is an important one time only measure needed to combat the crisis.
(2) Obama immediately breaks promise, includes the stimulus as a part of the federal baseline in his budget, essentially meaning that every Congress will pass another stimulus again for the rest of time.
(3) Republican & Democrats reject the Obama budget, because, among other resasons it is a 4% shift in GDP from the private sector to the budget and will require painful tax increases sometime soon. But then Congress essentially passes the Obama budget in a series of continuing resolutions designed to delay the real fight.
(4) Congress doesn’t pass a new budget since 2009 [covering the last year of bush], and spending increases by 20% + the normal percentage increases of the Federal baseline. Obama takes the position during the campaign that he didn’t even increase spending in his budgets [which is true if you ignore the enormous stimulus spending added to the baseline].
(5) Republicans face primary pressure from tea parties to do something about spending, negotiate the “sequester,” under which Republicans for the first time ever will agree to 98% of the new stimulus spending being added to the federal baseline, AND the 2% of new spending that is not spent will not be spent on mostly Republican priorities.
(6). Obama hopes the lack of spending on Congressional Rep districts will force them back to the table so that he gets 100% of the new spending that he wants, not 98% of what he wants. But nothing happens and despite stunts like letting INS prisoners out onto the streets the sequester happens.
BUT
(7) the new Continuing resolution negotiations are about to happen. The Republicans now have their fig leaf PR victory (really a 98% cave) and the congressional republicans without spending will put their spending into the new CR. The sequester cuts will never happen once the new CR includes them in new spending.
(8) In addition the economic reality that you can’t add the stimulus to the baseline without a 20% tax raise on the productive is still in effect and taxes still have to rise.
The republicans have been beat up like a punching bag during these negotiations. They are worthless.
With the left it is always to inflict as much pain as possible on the voter. The same way when some small town run by leftist always threatens to fire police or not pick up garbage when they could balance their bloated budgets.
Rotten has it right: Obama will suffer no ill effects from the Sequester farce. HE CAN DO NO WRONG.

Obama’s already blaming the Republicans and the LameStream Media is singing the “It’s the Republicans’ fault!” at full volume (http://conservativetruthhq.blogspot.com/). In addition, Boo Hoo Boehner and Mitch “the mouse” McConnell haven’t said a word.
So no, Obama won’t get blamed for this. He’ll sail on through, the Republicans will get the blame, and then taxes will be raised in April, the GOP will get their cut of the increased booty, and everything will be back to political normal.

Nope. Won’t. Until the GOP agrees with the sane people and forces the likes of Mitt Romney to pay the tax rate I pay, then anything that is cut – at all – is their fault.
If I can afford it, they sure as heck can too.
Now, if the GOP would be grownups about this and agree to that simple stipulation, we could then all have a nice grownup talk about how we use that revenue – to pay down debt, or shore up safety nets, or re-fund NASA, or whatever.
Until the day that the GOP stops protecting billionaires form paying the taxes the rest of us pay (which you would think would be such a GOP issue, since fairness, and flat-tax proposals abound… not to mention the Romney/Ryan obsession with ‘closing loopholes’ right up until the moment they lost) you are just being obstructionist dolts, and will get the blame for anything and everything that is cut that affects anyone and everyone.

That comes from just the 50% of Americans who still are net payers of income tax. Basically the top 10% of wage earners (those individuals and families whose AGI is $112,124 or above) pay 70% of the entire tax, or $1.9 trillion of wealth this year will be “redistributed” from these workers, mainly to transfer programs like welfare, medicare and social security. Those programs are wrought with massive fraud..
The US will spend $3.7 trillion this year, $1 trillion more that we take in, borrowed from the Chinese, and on the farcical continuing resolution the feds have been doing since Obama got in office, which will bring the national debt up to $17 trillion, 40% of that created under Obama.
Want to guess what we get for the borrowed $1 trillion:

This is likely because in a healthy free market economy, the poor are upwardly mobile, but rather in an Obama economy with high unemployment, the lack of good paying jobs creates a static condition for most everyone .
The (now pushing up daisies) late dictator Chavez was a wealth “redistributionist”
He fed the poor with the profits of oil production, while fixing prices of food and nationalizing grocery stores and agriculture.
The results ?
The value of the currency in their pockets is cut in half over night, food shortages everywhere, oil production slashed, and a brand new debt of 38 billion to China to show for it.
So much for wealth redistribution.
This could very well be a new low for Obama. Contrary to what he clearly believes, the White House is not his house; He just happens to be living there for a few years. It is a centuries- old historical landmark and its tours have been excellent educational experiences for visitors for generations, yet now Obama is canceling all of its tours out of what can only be described as sheer spite. It’s clearly not a bugetary concern, since the tour guides are unpaid volunteers; It’s just his way of trying to make everybody else as miserable as he is because he didn’t get what he wanted.
Obama doesn’t see himself as President; He sees himself as King.
