Southern Poverty Law Center Sics Feds on Patriots
Remember the anti-militia hysteria of the 1990s, and how a paranoid federal government killed its own citizens at Ruby Ridge and Waco? The militant leftists at the Southern Poverty Law Center apparently want to see more of the same:
President Barack Obama’s administration and the gun control debate after the Connecticut school shooting have led to surging numbers of anti-government “patriot” groups, according to a civil rights group that tracks extremist groups.
If the barking moonbats at the Southern Poverty Law Center want to track extremist groups, all they need is a mirror.
The election and re-election of the nation’s first black president and the rugged economy have fueled their growth, said Mark Potok, a senior fellow at the SPLC.
The SPLC specializes in shrill denunciations of Caucasians for allegedly being racist against blacks.
On gun control, the debate after the Newtown, Conn., mass killing of schoolchildren has led to “a kind of white-hot rage unleashed on both the radical right and also within more mainstream political circles,” he said.
Readers will recall that the government murders at Ruby Ridge and Waco were precipitated by liberal hostility to the Second Amendment.
In a letter Tuesday to Attorney General Eric Holder and Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano, the SPLC warned of the potential for domestic terrorism and urged the creation of a task force to assess whether there are enough federal resources devoted to the threat.
“As in the period before the Oklahoma City bombing, we now are seeing ominous threats from those who believe that the government is poised to take their guns,” wrote SPLC President Richard Cohen, a member of the Department of Homeland Security’s Countering Violent Extremism Working Group.
That bears repeating: the President of the SPLC works with the DHS. Red flags should be flying, and not just the ones with hammers and sickles on them that SPLC kooks probably hoist in their backyards.
As even AP admits,
Some critics believe the SPLC is too broad in labeling hate and extremist groups, to the point of including legitimate political organizations that oppose illegal immigration, gun control, gay rights and other issues.
These leftist screwballs are advising Janet “Uncle Mort” Napolitano on who to use DHS’s staggering stockpile of ammo on. The child barbecue at Waco is going to look like a Sunday picnic compared to what Hopey Change is steering us toward.

The $PLC is a notorious hate group that is implacably anti-White anti-Christian and anti-patriotic.
