You are forgetting a huge factor. That factor is called, “the weak, gullible, and mindless voters of America.” That’s how they can, and did, win.

Its a workable strategy, try it. Isn’t that how any American politician is thrown to the outer darkness these days. It has lttle to do with being anti-Israeli, I cannot respect a political process where the first and last question asked of any prospective office-bearer, say the SecDef is not about his competence or knowledge about defense matters, but where he stands on Israel. It is decadent and shameful to put the putative interests of another country before your own. How can you then in all honesty claim that you came to serve the interest of the United States first and foremost?

Ivan, standing with Israel SHOWS competence, knowledge about defense matters (as well as character and being on the right side with the Lord). Israel’s interests ARE the interests of the U.S., and having them go down in flames would pretty much guarantee a very, very bad outcome for America as well.
I’d say that’s a pretty good litmus test for a prospective office bearer.

Calm Down
The Los Angeles election Tuesday gave voters a choice of electing their first female mayor, their first Jewish mayor or their first gay mayor. The GOP candidate was the gay guy. L.A. has moved so far to the left that the Village People are now the Republicans.
It’s unreasonable to presume homogeneity in any large group. There will be differences.
Michelle’s statement is, however, correct. The party is upside down. Conservatism should be the platform, with “compassionate conservatives” and “moderate conservatives,” aka “RINO’s” tagging along for the ride.
It is them, not us, who should be holding their nose while they vote.
The most pressing issue facing America today is the devaluation of Liberty. This is the only battle that matters.
Americans used to value liberty and freedom – under the law – above everything but God and family. This is no longer true. Instead, they want Anarchy without knowing what they’re asking for. They revel in their ignorance, “occupying Wall Street” without having a clue.
This is the battle that we have to win.
People who value liberty and freedom will vote conservative.
And, if battle lines are being drawn: I do NOT stand with Rand. His conservatism is knee-jerk and ignorant. His filibuster was foolish.
It’s hard to make Holder look smart, but Rand found a way. I’ve got a real problem with that.
What Ivan fails to realize is that it is ALL about saving Israel. God has always saved Israel and in the end, he WILL save a remnant of Israelis. The problem is that although He has clearly saved them over and over, and they appreciate it for a while, they soon forget about it and go back to worshiping their own idols. But God STILL loves Israel and the Jews have ALWAYS been his chosen people. That’s why Jesus is a Jew.
There will be a final battle – Armageddon – and Jesus will save Israel.
As for the rest of us, Christians are saved BECAUSE of the Jews. God loves us and has blessed us with the promise of eternal life. We are to pray for Israel and support Israel and LEARN from them.

Actually Ivan has a valid point. That being most of our elected officials put Israel first, so much so it’s blatantly obvious … SO obvious even SNL made a skit mocking the Senators’ slobbering spectacle in which they try to out-do each other WRT their support for Israel during the Hagel hearings.
Of course the best comedy is that which imitates reality.
