Mark Kelly has been riding sympathy for his flaky but regrettably wounded wife Gabby Giffords toward a powerful position in politics by sanctimoniously denouncing our constitutional right to bear arms. But a speed bump emerged on his path to glory when it was discovered that he broke the law in the course of acquiring an AR-15 — the highly popular model moonbats like Kelly have made a priority of denying us the right to own.
Over the weekend, husband of former Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords and anti-gun advocate Mark Kelly purchased as AR-15 at Diamondback Police Supply in Tucson, Arizona. The reason? According to Kelly, he was proving a point about the amount of time background checks take to conduct and won’t keep the AR-15. In fact, his plan all along was to give it away to the police.
If true, that would constitute two felonies, as noted at The Obama File:
If Mr. Kelly did not intend to keep the AR-15, but to give it to another, he is committing a felony by being a “straw purchaser” under current law, and he must have stated on the ATF Form 4473 that he was buying it for himself, so he committed perjury on the BATF form, also a felony.
We had better make an example of this scofflaw, even if it saves only one child’s life.
However, the Obama Regime doesn’t have time to prosecute such cases. Attacking the Second Amendment rights of the law-abiding keeps it too busy.
