The More Things Change…
…the more the Democrats’ strategy for scaring fools and cowards into the smothering embrace of Big Government remains the same. Obama didn’t invent the never-ending urgent crisis trick. A look back at the disgraceful Clinton Administration:
On a tip from TED.

Doesn’t BO denying shutting down the white house and then getting caught

seem kinda like a presidential (sic) version of:

“Dat ain’t mine…..Ah din do dat….No…Ah don know how dat got dere, Offser..”
“I think myself that we have more machinery of government than is necessary, too many parasites living on the labor of the industrious.”
Thomas Jefferson
The Maha-Rushie! Man, NOTHING changes…except now they have absolute, unbridled power.
Man I wish Limbaugh had his TV show back. I used to watch it, and he was great.
Maybe we can lure him back to the tube if this thing gets off the ground and flies:

Call your cable provider and demand it!
Our imperial senate pushing for more Gun Control just like all good leftists sludgeworms push for and KING OBAMA the FINK said he want to apply his hoofprint on
I remember Rush’s TV show! Used to watch in college; I had no idea who he was (being the young prog I was), but I think that had to be the beginning of the transition. I was always surprised at how I agreed with half of everything he said (now it’s more like 75%). Something about his, “America was founded on the principles of rugged individualism and self-reliance.” that struck a chord with me.
I particularly remember his 1993 Earth Day Special… “The best thing about a tree is what you do with it after you kill it.” LOL LOL I video taped it (remember VHS?) and showed it to some hippie chick – I sh*t you not, she started crying. Needless to say, I wasn’t getting any with her that day… heh heh.
My total conversion to conservatism was fomented by two of the biggest entitlement libs I knew. The main one was a guy that HATED Rush. “He’s a bigot! He’s a hate-monger. He wants blacks killed!” This was in the early 90′s. When I finally saw Rush’s TV show, I was taken aback. He wasn’t some hate-spewing bigot, he was a reasonable conservative.
I was so pissed off because the REAL haters were these libs who couldn’t win on their ideas, so they used character assassination to prop up their vapid, empty agenda. BAD MOVE. I became a total ditto-head.
As for the other guy, he gave me Atlas Shrugged and figured it was so obvious how “wrong” Ayn Rand was, I’d be hating her before I finished the first chapter.
Needless to say, “Who Is John Galt” became my rallying cry, and I think I caused both of them serious psychological distress because I just DIDN’T GET WITH THEIR PROGRAM!
Oh well…A is A.
TYRANTS AGREE GUN CONTROL WORKS
I remember that show from early 90s. It came on after the news on the all barack channel (ABC) and El Rushbo was sitting at a desk with fireplace in the background. It might not have been on abc in your area.
.
Look what I found after watching the Limbaugh piece. How come Jerry Seinfeld knows how to do this but not a single Republican can do it:

The demacRATS totaly reject the U.S. CONSTITUTION ecept when it comes to SAME SEX MARRAGE & ILLEGAL ALIENS

Who’d ever burn ballots?
I’m from the government…
and I’m here to help.
I find El Rushbo entertaining at times but I’ve stopped taking him serious back during Dubya’s first presidential election (2000) when he proclaimed: “Trust me people! Dubya is nothing like his father. He’s a reeeeeeal conservative! You have my word on it!”
I didn’t believe Rush then and my instincts proved me right. Dubya was no conservative. He was an unmitigated disaster for our country.
Dubya — along with his neocon handlers — ruined the Republican brand thus made it easy for the Dems to capture the White House in 2008.
DJ,
Totally agree. W and his fat boy Rove were catastrophes for republicans.
I knew it was all over when Bush started yelping about “compassionate conservativism” (sic).
The problem is that we had sunk so far down into the pits of liberalism that anything remotely half-way sensible W did, loomed in contrast as “leadership”.
“Leadership” as opposed to what? The idiotic pastime of chronic taxation so enjoyed by liberals and RINOs?
Apparently so.
(Bush was a liberal no question. And BTW one of the most crawl-on-your-belly-like-a-reptile, BO-level vacuousness, came in abandoning Scooter Libby.
Bush was consumed with making nice to liberals. He wanted to be loved and left with a 30% approval rating. -He leaves the legacy of an idiot.)
[...] (h/t: Moonbattery) [...]
who would have thought that the Clinton Regime would have been the good old days?
….and that there would have been Peak Rush
Rush is an entertainer with political viewpoints. Nothing he says is etched on a stone tablet or comes with a flask of kool-aid. He says stuff all the time that pisses me off and I tune out for the rest of the day. A special note to the mongo moonbat moron Rush haters-He is busy counting the money from his $400 million plus contract! Ahahaha!
For anyone who doubts Rush, I would like to see examples of what they think he has said that is in error. Because, my guess is that it if something bothers them that Rush says, it is probably a TRUTH that they just don’t want to believe.
In other words, I think Rush is right on. If he was making mistakes, we would hear about them all day long from the MSM – but they only take things out of context that he says to try to prove him wrong – and they always fail.
+1 to Jodie.
Please guys, the left counts on us eating our own. No one is perfect, and it’s progressives who will dismiss someone because he/she doesn’t meet their Olympian standards of perfection.
Rush spouts off 3 hours a day, five days a week. His ideas and principles have remained solid. I never heard him say the “real conservative” remark about Bush, but assuming it’s true, so what? I felt that way about W as well, but his spending proved otherwise. I’d give Rush about an 85 out of 100 in terms of his being on the money. THAT AIN’T BAD!
Look, he is human. He got hooked on pills. He makes an error here and there. SO WHAT? He articulates conservatism better than almost anyone I can think of, and does it EVERY DAY. If you need a summation of who he is, go here:

‘Nuff said.
Right on Skyfall! None of us are perfect. (Or is it “is perfect”? I don’t know, I’m not perfect.) Anyways, I enjoyed the video. It is so nice to hear those things talked about, but upsetting to know that Obama and his minions hate hearing the truth about what this country was built on and they really, really want to take it away from us.
Rush the GOP cheerleader has been consistently WRONG because he constantly chants inversions of reality such as “The left/liberals/Democrats are in panic mode!” or “They’re are losing; we are winning!” or “WE got the libs on the run!” “The entire Democratic Party is in disarray!”etc.etc.
The truth is the left/liberals/Democrats (take your pick) have been beating our brains in on a daily basis for as long as El Rushbo has been on the air. Of course I’m not blaming Rush in any way for the conservatives’ losing ground, I’m just being an objective observer. Moreover, who can argue that the left has made great strides since Rush took the airwaves on or around 1988? The left even made great gains even when the Republicans were in power! Given that you can believe Rushes hyperbole all you want but his hype certainly doesn’t square with reality. The fact is we “conservatives” are losing big time … Rush’s 3 hour pep rallys notwithstanding.
Rush and his ilk are capitaizing on false hope.
Let’s face it. The political landscape has changed. The days of Rush and Hannity’s style tactics have outlived their usefulness. We need new fresh ideas in order to defeat the evil arrayed against us. Ideas with sharp teeth motivated by a killer instict. To clarify, we don’t want to murder their persons, we want to murder their evil leftist ideologies.
DJ,
You and I disagree about a few things, but I have to say, you are very polite and I appreciate that.
My view is that Obama stole the election. Between his people voting numerous times (even the dead ones) and the possible Soros voting machine manipulation, it’s obvious that we cannot trust the results of the election. Therefore, those who predicted that Obama would lose (not me, I knew he would win), might have been correct if there hadn’t been all of the fraud, deception, and cheating.
Indeed, Jodie, there was much fraud, deception and cheating that occurred in the last election. Alan West fell victim to such fraud in Post St Lucie.
http://townhall.com/tipsheet/heatherginsberg/2012/11/10/breaking_massive_voter_fraud_in_st_lucie_county_florida
However, I beleive the demographic transformation of the electorate is of more significance. Of course the transformation is mainly due to massive immigration — both legal and illegal. The demographic transformation has has spelt electoral disaster for the Republican Party – especially at the national level. What’s worse is in the not too distant future this same effect will trickle down to the state-wide elections and MOST congressional districts. I’m sorry to say but twenty years from now, if the current trend-line continues, the left will have a lock on all three branches of government. It’s all due to massive non-white immigration since the Immigration And Nationality Act of 1965 was written into law.
Defeatist you say?
No, just a realist.
MAN I want to argue with DJ and tell him why he’s so very, very wrong.
Unfortunately…
(Also, I believe that right now Obama [and to some extent the rest of the left] is being driven by Satanic power. That will, ultimately, come to an end. Sadly, between now and then, we are screwed.)
…but to be clear, I don’t agree about Rush. I don’t think he’s behind the times or outlived his usefulness or handing out false hope. SOMEONE has to wave the flag and issue a rallying cry, and none is better than Rush.
No…there is more afoot here that mere demographics or being outmaneuvered. There is a more sinister, powerful force at work here, and it’s only going to get stronger.
Skyfall,
I agree that the left has sinister motivations and is driven by Satanic power, but Rush tip toes around those that are actually doing the dastardly deeds. In fact in most cases he obfuscates and misdirects his audience as to the real nature of the epic battle; moreover, he makes it a point to NOT name whom the MAIN aggressors are and what motivates them. OTOH Michael Savage regularly identifies –albeit mostly in general terms — those of whom that belong to the tribe of nation destroyers.
In the mean time I continue to listen to the “all knowing Maha Rushie” because, as you’ve correctly pointed out, he is unmatched at articulating conservative principles. But his main talent/attraction is he is hilarious whilst skewering liberals.
