YOu guys must have seen the by-state graphics that show how the blue states do al the earning and bailing while the red states do all the laying around and complaining.
I mean really – try not to embarass yourself like this. Cali has had it’s problems (as has the whole country w/ the exception of ND), but do you really want to look at the whole country? The Northeast v. the Southeast?
Which makes me wonder: if liberal economic policies don’t work conservative ones do, why is Massachusetts what it is and Mississippi what IT is?
Sounds like the data’s not validatin’ the model, if ya know what I’m sayin’.
Maybe California’s problem is getting ready to correct itself.

Just the slightest bit of intelligence will tell you what’s going on in this country, as the productive are continually taxed (soon enough, nearly to death) to pay for the welfare recipients and other “Blue state” lay-abouts, Occupy idiots who want it all (but have no desire to pay for it themselves, much less earn the money to pay for it) and the insatiable federal and “Blue state” governments that are eating this nation alive from within.

I lived in occupied California for 18 miserable years. I’ve lived in occupied Hawai’i for 6. The other 30++ years of my life have been spent in the Free States of Alaska and Texas. I can’t tell you how I long to live in a Free State again – one more year on this mid-Pacific rock and it’s home to Texas.

It should be remembered that from the late 1860′s until the end of Reconstruction there was a successful terrorist insurgency against the federal government through out most of the old Confederacy conducted by the millitant wing of the Domocratic Party against the the GOP dominated state governments. As a result there was a deliberate policy to keep out industry and keep the Afro-American minority poor and uneducated. This was made worse by the collapse of the price of cotton world wide.
Mississippi may or may not be improving but California IS getting worse. In education testing is is now in the bottom 5 states (I think 47 but I might be in error) and things are getting worse. For practical intents and purposes the state is bankrupt and the tax base is collapsing. I think that since this decline has occured after the state became solidly Democratic it is not unreasonable to blame that shift for the change.
In 2011, on average, five businesses left California every week.
