Huelscamp: No Answers From DHS on Ammo Binge
Countermoonbat Congressman Tim Huelscamp (R-KS) confirms in an interview with Luke Rudkowski of We Are Change that the Department of Homeland Security under Obama and his henchtroll Janet Napolitano refuses to reveal the purpose of its massive ammo buildup:
If DHS decided it needed 1.6 billion ballpoint pens but wouldn’t tell the public or even Congress why, the arrogance would be alarming. But this is ammunition for a domestic agency that will presumably be using at least some of it to shoot Americans. People’s hair should be standing on end.
On a tip from ThisObamaNation. Hat tip: Constitutional Zombie Hunting Libertarian Info-Warrior.

Clearly, hollow point ammo is not used for target practice because it’s too costly. Those bullets are to kill people, and the people they want to kill are no doubt white Christian patriot gun owners. Bill Ayers said that they’d have to kill most of the people in the south, because southerners would never cooperate in a communist revolution. In any case, the ammo build up is a signal that they are worried about the possibility of civil unrest.
This is the same ammo that King Obama the Fink and our imperial senate wants to keep us from buying typical bunch of leftists
Robin:
I think civil unrest is almost inevitable..the end of a great experiment. Sad, really……
80 million gun owners in America. If every one of them had only 100 rounds of ammo (2 or 5 boxes), that’s 8 billion rounds. 5 rounds for every one that DHS has procured.
You do the math…
And remember, to simply ask “why” gets you labeled a “hate group” by Obama’s friends at the SPLC
Y’all are thinking about this ALL WRONG.
Think of it as the government is simply storing it for us until we need to liberate it from them.
I’ve had a sneaky suspicion that most of this ammo and armored trucks is not to be used confiscating guns around the country, but instead will be used in and around D.C. so the politicians can feel safe destroying this country, while their black shirts slaughter anybody who tries to slow them down.
Obviously, this is grounds for a special prosecutor.
The libs put up a SP to prosecute Scooter Libby, with Bush’s consent, but for something like this we can’t even get a congressional committee formed?
c’mon. what the F?
Janet the Planetbutt needs to testify under oath so we can hear her screech about what difference does it make.
Obama is not about to appoint a special prosecutor for any investigation of his regime’s corruption, never has and never will. Republicrats need to grow some balls and hold up any appropriations funding until they get answers. We can’t count on the MSM press to fairly or accurately report or push for answers on this issue since they collectively support a communist takeover of the country.
But, I like the way Gunny thinks.
The DHS reportedly has 200,000 employees in all of its collective agencies (not all agents or authroized to carry firearms), so the 1.6 billion works out to 8,000 rounds per employee. There are clearly some DHS departments like the Coast Guard with about 43,000 active members and 44,000 reservists that would have a lot of oath keepers loyal to the American people and not amenable to taking orders to round up or to fire on fellow Americans. Should the federal government go rogue (more than it already is) and declare martial law on its citizens, liberating all that ammo may be carried out as an inside job by oath keepers within their ranks.
Cling,
Yes, I agree. And as I mentioned, we can’t even get a giant bulldozer to push Big Sis in front of a congressional committee.
There may be perfectly valid and honorable reasons for the large ammo purchases by the DHS. (I’m being sarcastic here) How about we file a FOIR the past 10-12 years, compare ammo purchase records, and divide by the number of armed DHS employees? If the current per capita purchases are anywhere close to the past, then we STFU and concentrate on other issues.
Frankly, the 2700 armored vehicles trouble me more than the ammo; you and I cannot purchase anything close to their equivalent (as we can with bullets and firearms) and no one in authority has offered any believable explanation of their purpose.
Of course, a FOIR would probably be refused; such a refusal would indicate intentional deception by the administration and essentially validate our speculation and concern.
hair on end, it should be on fire.
Can congress possibly find any more ways to show how totally irrelevant and impotent it is? Nobody in this Marxist govt. even bothers responding to them.
DHS didn’t purchase 2700 armored vehicles. They have a dozen or so for warrant teams. The 2700 armored vehicles of which you mention are actually going to the Marines. I don’t know why this misinformation keeps circulating.
It is true that DHS needs to be transparent in all of their purchases. With that said often these big contracts are options to buy at a set price with no stipulation that they MUST buy all the intended equipment. This could be a ten year contract. And yes, hollow points are used at the range for qualifications.
The trouble with Homeland Security is unlimited funding, absolutely no accountability to anyone, and an sprawling list of things to frighten everybody about.
It’s the most perfect Washington bureaucracy ever conceived.
@Mark Johnson
I’ve just spent a great deal of time trying to dispel the myth that Congress is exempt from Obamacare, so I appreciate your input with accurate information. Would you have a link on the armored vehicles? There are enough real issues without propagating conspiracy theories. Plus, it gives the libtards ammo.
I was under the impression the DHS ammo was a 5 year contract. I can’t remember the exact figures in the article, but I did the math a few weeks ago and came out with about 600 rounds per armed DHS employee per year – not unreasonable.
It appears that ammo manufacturers are taking advantage of gungrabitis and forcing up ammo prices by limiting the supply. It’s not the feds making .22LR double or triple price if you’re lucky enough to find a few boxes. I expect supplies to slowly come back to normal but the prices will stay inflated.
The administration loves it when we go full-on paranoid about this type of thing. I’m pretty sure they intentionally create and feed these rumors to make us look foolish and divert attention from their actual machinations.
Is Obama really the Manchurian President?

I did the math on the ammo purchase a few weeks ago when the Alex Jones/Info War crowd first started circulating. Even after the calculation the amount seemed excessive unless you take into account the option to buy at a set price with no stipulation of fulfilling a full purchase order.
If you calculate the number of all DHS personnel in HSI, CBP, Border Patrol, Coast Guard, FLETC, and the rest…. Understand that they qualify 4 times a year at 200-300 rounds per qual, not to mention the special response team training that far surpasses a regular qualification… Extend it out over a ten year period and it is not far from unreasonable.
With that said, DHS must be an open book and extend transparency to a very concerned public as to alleviate any undo concern.
NRA Statement
You may recently have seen some in the Internet rumor mill feverishly repeating the obvious truth above, in an effort to stir up fear about recent acquisitions of ammunition by the Department of Homeland Security and a number of smaller agencies. The mildest writers have questioned why seemingly mundane agencies would need ammunition at all; more incendiary authors suggest that these government agencies are preparing for a war with the American people.
Much of the concern stems from a lack of understanding of the law enforcement functions carried about by officers in small federal agencies. These agents have the power to make arrests and execute warrants, just like their better-known counterparts at agencies like the FBI.
…
As most gun owners will agree, skepticism of government is healthy. But today, there are more than enough actual threats to the Second Amendment to keep gun owners busy. With two key Supreme Court decisions hanging by a one-vote margin, the Justice Department deeply involved in a cover-up of a disastrous Mexican gun smuggling operation, and President Obama touting a ban on popular semi-automatic firearms, there is no need to invent additional threats to our rights.
Huh. The NRA comes out in favor of some small measure of sanity? Good for them.
Anyone see a unicorn nearby? …But of course it won’t matter. You will still spend your days tilting at windmills, because you have nothing else to offer.
“Internet rumor mill” “effort to stir up fear” “more incendiary authors” “lack of understanding of the law enforcement function”
Who could they possibly be referring to? Not our Dave Blount, surely?
I, for one, welcome a second Civil War. With people like Nappyhead and Holdthedoor as leaders this should be as One-Sided as the Spanish-American War with FEDGOV being the Spanish. With their irrational predilection for diversity, I imagine most of DHS will use their shiny new Armored Cars to make a run for Mexico or Canada when they realize that the bulletproof and mineproof vehicles cannot store enough fuel and food to last them the rest of their pathetic lives, and that the moment they come out to re-fuel or get a meal, there will be an angry citizen with a shiny new gun to thank them personally for their service to Anarcho-Tyranny!
